Hi everyone!

I think I did this correctly! Eeeek! Probably not Blush I think we still have a few messages to go on the old one, so it's here for when we're ready :)

StrawberrytallCAKE · 19/07/2012 19:44

Thanks everyone! Got a Chinese on the way home to cheer myself up but can't see it happening. What with dh losing his job, problems with the scan and moving house next week I'm ridiculously stressed out. Oh to go back to the days of university just for 10 mins to experience true care-freeness again!!!!

HoneyMum21 · 19/07/2012 19:58

Strawberry -thinkining of you.The sonographer sounds rubbish. If you're anything like me I imagain you're looking online to see what potential things could be wrong. I know it's hard but STEP AWAY FROM GOOGLE. It will scare you. When do you see the consultant?

StrawberrytallCAKE · 19/07/2012 20:15

Don't worry mwah this thread moves so quickly I'm sure I always miss news.

Ha you are so right honey they are calling me tomorrow with my appointment for next week. It's so funny because I had a scan 3 weeks ago which was fine and I was really blasé about this one because I presumed it would be the same, kicking myself now.

How did the other scans get on today?

Barbeasty · 19/07/2012 20:26

Strawberry- I hope things are ok. Maybe you could call your midwife tomorrow and ask if they could talk you through what it means. I'm sure they're used to people being shell shocked.

Littlemiss- could you subtly drop into conversation how difficult it is to find nice bright coloured clothes for a boy, because you love them, and that all you seem to be able to buy is beige and blue? Does you DH happen to usefully support a football team who play in a bright colour or anything? Then she could knit in team colours!

CODwidow · 19/07/2012 20:27

Sorry about the scan strawb but fx all will go well with the consultant.
Hope all other scans went well.

SpottyTeacakes · 19/07/2012 20:35

Does anyone have an ideas on breast pumps? I used a tommee tippee manual one last time which was good but am planning on feeding/expressing a lot longer this time

ellliebelle · 19/07/2012 20:51

strawberry i have my fingers crossed for you. Hope yoy managed to enjoy your chinese.

spotty i personally couldnt get on with any breast pump last time :( i bought and then sold 4 and ended up using a hospital grade one which i borrowed from my local baby cafe. I went away for a week when dd was almost 6 months old and was determinedt leave enough breast milk to last while i was away even with the hospital double pump i found this difficult :(

mwahmwah · 19/07/2012 20:55

I had a Medela swing. Absolutely fantastic and worth every penny of the 90 odd quid it cost! Really quite quiet too...

SpottyTeacakes · 19/07/2012 20:55

Sorry to hear that ellie I know some people just can't express even when they bf with no problems

cherrypiew3 · 19/07/2012 21:18

Strawberry sorry to hear the scan did not go well keeping my fingers crossed that everything will be ok .

Welcome 2blessed

Feeling very tired today and have found myself dropping off at every opportunity.

ISpyPlumPie · 19/07/2012 23:50

Strawberry - sorry about the scan Sad. Agree with others that the sonographer's comment was unhelpful and unprofessional. I'm another one keeping my fingers crossed for you.

cherrypiew - I know what you mean with the tiredness. I really thought it would have improved by now, but find it is still coming and going in waves. Not been too bad today, but some days I find that I get 'crashes.' For example, the other morning I was reading a story to DS and suddenly felt like I couldn't even make it to the end of The Magic Porrige Pot. DS didn't seem to object that quiet time got changed to a bonus half-hour of TV while I had a quiet sit down though Grin

Oh and welcome 2blessed

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 20/07/2012 07:34

Oh strawberry that Sonographer sounds rubbish! I hope you can speak to a midwife today who can explain things for you. Fingers crossed things will be ok ( had a friend with a condition of too much fluid, her stomach looked like an over stretched balloon buy baby was born fit and healthy)

Urgh got a mates hen party tonight, really not sure if I wanna go though been feeling really rough still Confused just so tired and had a headache since weds afternoon Hmm and the kids have 2 birthday parties tomo so I can't rest, really not sure.

Oh and my birthday is jan 1st and my brothers is boxing day. My parents always encouraged people to give seperate presents to both of us which was great! As for parties we used to have summer ones In the garden as no one was available on our birthdays! Lol and now everyone including me spends my birthday hungover!

SpottyTeacakes · 20/07/2012 07:46

Argh people keep touching my barely there bump Angry

PurplePidjin · 20/07/2012 07:56

for Strawberry

Stacey, my dad shares your birthday, it just means i don't get too pished on NYE can't bloody stand the enforced jollity so nice to have an excuse

Spotty, the only person who's groped me so far is my Gran! She gets forgiven everything just for being 91. Even though she has behaved in exactly the same way for my entire life, and, according to my dad, before that too Hmm

2nd scan today, trying not to be nervous...

ivanapoo · 20/07/2012 08:02

Strawb hope your consultant session goes well, sorry your scan was not good - how insensitive can they be...

ivanapoo · 20/07/2012 08:06

Spotty a few people have tried to touch mine too but because it's so small and covered in a protective layer of tummy padding (ahem) it just feels like they're grabbing my flabby tummy!

I find in the morning I don't really look big at all and I'm still fitting into my normal clothes (except my favourite VERY tight jeans), but by the end of the day before I go to bed it's loads bigger. Could be me just slumping into a slouch as the day goes on I guess ;)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 20/07/2012 08:14

Good luck for your scan pidj

I have friends touch my bump, and lots of my friends dcs do but they're kids and I dOnt care tbh. As long as its not a stranger I don't care. I never had it with the other dcs I must have had a 'scary pregnant teenager' look on my face lol

SpottyTeacakes · 20/07/2012 08:29

It's MIL and step mum. I don't like touching or hugging or anything like that Grin

I also have a much bigger bump by the end of the day.

Yay pidj you get to see baby again, don't be nervous Smile

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 20/07/2012 08:58

See if they know u don't like hugs that's a bit off tbh!

Back from the last morning school run!! Yay! Can't wait for some lie ins!

Tried to upload a pic of my bump but couldn't do it from my iPhone for some reason even on the desktop site from my iPhone Hmm oh well I shall have to wait until I bother to turn my comp on!

MyDaydream · 20/07/2012 09:22

Spotty I'm in the same boat, I hate hugs from anyone but my mum and DP, but only DP will be touching bump. MIL kept going on about how she was looking forward to touching my bump and got upset when DP said this wasn't happening. I've just not told her there's any movement yet and am guarding myself well against it. It's going to happen, I'm going to swear at her before I can stop myself and it's going to cause an argument with DP, but oh well she shouldn't touch me.
I'm worried I'm not going to get a 20 week scan. Booked it at my 12 week, called yesterday to get confirmation of time so we could see if DP needed a full day or just a morning off work and there's no record of it. Two different people in the scan dept and my midwife have said its antenatals job but the lady I just spoke to is denying this. I pushed on the day I booked for a particular day and now because they cocked up I'm going to have to take whatever is going because it's so close.

littlemissbroody26 · 20/07/2012 09:26

Good luck pidjin.

No one touches my bump :( my family are all in the uk and my oh has 10 nieces and nephews so pregnancy isn't very exciting in his family.

MyDaydream · 20/07/2012 09:33

Okay apparently it's sorted but the lady I spoke to just seemed to be saying things to make me go away. I won't be putting high bets on getting the letter I requested or the scan department having any knowledge of me between now and the 7th.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 20/07/2012 10:08

Ah well mydaydream turn up and refuse to leave until they scan you Grin

Bubbless · 20/07/2012 10:38

stawberry- im so sorry to hear about your scan, the sonographer sounds like she deserves a punch! try and stay posative, it was probably a problem with the sonographer rather than with your baby / you!
not being stressed is better for the bubba than being stressed is, so your evening it all out with being stressed after rather than before!

littlemiss- its my job to know how to make dumplings (well.. cook in general!) but we dont use slow cookers at work, so i can make them, but no idea how to cook them outside of an oven!

spotty- my SFIL (stepFIL?!) touched my 'bump' yesterday, twas very odd....

ivanan- i have the mysterious 'bump growing over the course of the day..' situation as well.. DP touched bump this morning and goes "oh.. its just fat" Hmm

daydream- id turn up on your date and time and sit and wait until they scan you!!

minipie · 20/07/2012 10:42

strawberry keeping fingers crossed for you x
