Hi everyone!

I think I did this correctly! Eeeek! Probably not Blush I think we still have a few messages to go on the old one, so it's here for when we're ready :)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
EggsMichelle · 20/07/2012 11:00

Sending lots of positivity to you Strawberry, hope you get the appointment through quickly.

Bubbless I have an equally insencitive DH - "Thats not a baby, its cheese cake/ pizza/ doughnuts!" I really dont need reminding that my 5 a day are coming in the form of pizza topics!

I have had to miss a few pages, was finding it impossible to catch up. Had a very bust week at work, my ward is moving across the hospital so been sorting out silly things like meeting washing machine mechanics and trying to work the Sky box! But it's definitely more fun than moaning at my colleagues that I'm bored.

Got my 20wk scan in 2hrs, very excited as I've had loads of movement, but also petrified that it's not movement I've felt just lots of wind!

Bubbless · 20/07/2012 11:21

eggs trouble is, he thinks its halarious and will giggle to himself, and im sat there a hormonal wreck about to cry!
ohhh, good luck for your scan! i have no idea if im feeling movement, mine feels like cramp without the pain? but i dont know if its baby!!

my DP has been waiting on a promotion so he can manage his own store, he got passed over for it; which SUCKS. hes been offered a store in oxford which is a 70 mile round trip?! so he can either stay where he is and i have to go back to work asap after babys born, or he can go to oxford and support us financially but never be home.. eurgh :(

utopian99 · 20/07/2012 11:31

Hi all,
I've read some of this and then skipped as there are a BUCKET of posts, but wanted to join in as I'm due Dec 15th (whatever that may mean, both my brother and i were two weeks late for my mother..)

just about starting to look pregnant not fat, although that didn;t stop the creepy technician in our office saying i look like i'm "using it as an excuse to hit the beer"! SO many things wrong with that statement just to start with..

EggsMichelle · 20/07/2012 11:35

My DH has chosen to take his last uni placement 40miles away! He starts in September and finishes 2 days before our due date, and is hoping to get a job there straight after. I think he plans to teleport there and back, you could suggest that to your DP?

Bubbless · 20/07/2012 11:42

welcome utopian- this thread is SO fast moving, i struggle to keep up and im here several times a day!!

eggs teleportation..... i think my DP and yours are thinking along the same lines! we share a car which is mine, as i pay for everything and had it before i met him! and hes expecting to take it to work everyday... ive very firmly said NO because il need it!! DP very down in the dumps as he cant 'support us'
its a caveman thing i think!

EggsMichelle · 20/07/2012 12:03

Welcome Utopian, i find it near impossible to keep up!

"Me big man, me get food!!!!" I have always been the breadwinner in our house, and I have a pretty good job, which has always upset my DH, hence why he went back to uni to do exactly the same thing as me! I ended up buying a second car in my name a couple of years ago cause I was fed up of sharing mine.

Bubbless · 20/07/2012 12:29

eggs- my DP earns more than double i do, but by the end of the month hes asking me to pick up milk / bread because he doesnt have any money left! hes useless with money management and i think he thought having more money would fix it! your DH clearly looks up to you ;)

ellliebelle · 20/07/2012 12:31

Hi utopian

Well my doppler has just arrived but not sure if i dare give it a go :)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 20/07/2012 12:32

eggs good luck with your scan

utopion welcome I'm due the 16th :)

My DH wouldn't dare say my bump was cake! I would remove pieces of him that he is rather fond of!

Bubbless · 20/07/2012 12:37

ellie give it a go, take your time and dont be scared if you dont find the heartbeat for 20mins.. youll find it eventually!! i cried after 20 seconds and found i was being very U as im not a doppler.. person?!

SpottyTeacakes · 20/07/2012 12:41

I just keep getting the bloody placenta it must be massive Confused

HoneyMum21 · 20/07/2012 12:41

DH had an interview for a job yesterday and was told he'd hear by Monday but we're both on tenterhooks hoping he might hear today. His current work is part time and his boss is awful so we're really hoping he gets this as its full time for a nice company. I think I'm as stressed as him waiting to hear!

Welcome utopian

Strawberr- hope all has gone well

Bubbless · 20/07/2012 12:58

spotty how do you know its the placenta?!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 20/07/2012 12:59

I just tried to burn my house down Blush I was sure I'd turned the hob off! At least all I did was ruin a pan and fill the house with smoke!

Cookiesandcream06 · 20/07/2012 13:01

Right I remember seeing another newbie so welcome Grin (on my phone and pregnancy brain has stopped me from remembering anything) that does sound rubbish strawberry everything crossed but no, no panicking or googling- it is not our friend.

I spied some Hmm at DPs behaviours .. I'll be joining that club. Had some massive rows about money this past week, I've been absolutely miserable. He earns like 4 times what I do and I have to keep asking for money he is just very 'this is mine' about everything Sad Went to the docs again today just being a tearful mess too much of the time and he signed me off instantly for two weeks and has re-prescribed me some ADs. Dunno what you'll all think of that but TBH it felt like very much the right thing to do. Work are going to hate me as i have the following week booked off already but I'm just thinking of myself for once and how I'm feeling is really affecting mine and DPs relationship ATM ( even if he is being a bit of a bastard anyway )

Anyway sorry for the mammoth rant but had a rubbish few days. Hope all is well and some more scans coming up soon??

littlemissbroody26 · 20/07/2012 13:17

Bubbles I think the placenta sounds more swoosy (I cant think of a better way to say it) I am very envious of your dumpling making abilities!

Welcome utopia!

Good luck with the Doppler Ellie, my advice is just try to relax and keep moving the thing about, you'll find it eventually!

Good luck with dp's job honey.

Good luck with the scan eggs!

I'm only working 1 day a week in July as Sweden shuts down in July, I'm so tired after just a few hours of work I don't know how I'm going to do full time till November! I am abit of a workaholic, i have worked 70 hour weeks for alot of my 20's I loved it, rewarded myself with a nice big glass bottle of wine at the end of the week and was perfectly happy but now I'm such a wuss with work!

SpottyTeacakes · 20/07/2012 13:47

cookies definitely the best thing to do. I went to the dr when pregnant with dd about my headaches and he offered to sign me off Hmm some doctors are great and realise how tough it is being pregnant. Have a well deserved rest!

Welcome utopia

bubless yes it's more whoosh whoosh than clip clop Confused

EggsMichelle · 20/07/2012 14:04

Cookies ofcause it was the right thing to do, it would be 10 times worse if you ignored your need for help, plus they will have prescribed an AD that wont harm the baby so there is absolutely nothing to feel guilty about.

Scan went fine, all body parts present and correct, and there was no hiding his willy!!! So that's another to add to the blue team!

SpottyTeacakes · 20/07/2012 14:08

Congrats on the scan news Smile

kate2boysandabump · 20/07/2012 14:13

Strawb sorry to hear your scan didn't go as you hoped. Hopefully the midwife will reassure you soon.

Welcome 2blessed and Utopian I'm due on the 15th too Smile

Cookies you need to take good care of yourself, so take the time off. I felt guilty that I was off so much with ds2, but after a few weeks I didn't care, I needed that time and so do you. Hope your DP isn't causing you too much extra stress.

No bump grabbing here yet, but MIL coming next week, will have to watch out.

Might have a little sleep before the school run, I'm sooo tired and school holidays start today.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 20/07/2012 14:46

eggs congrats on your boy!!

acjfluff · 20/07/2012 14:59

Another for team blue here! Grin

minipie · 20/07/2012 15:15

Gosh all this scan news! Please can we do a stats list as I've lost track? Due date, which #DC, gender (or surprise)

minipie, due 7 December, DC#1, girl

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 20/07/2012 15:17

Yay acj!!!

Bubbless · 20/07/2012 15:27

cookies- im trying to hold off going back on the AD's (got taken off of a very high dose as soon as they found out i was preg) but they have said all along that if the risk to me is higher than the potential risk to the baby e.g. me being too depressed they will shove me straight back on them.. your doing the best thing for everyone, you cant be any good to your bubba if your not happy! and it should help regulate hormonal moods so may sort things out with your DP clutching at straws forget what work thinks, they can go fuck themselves.. your more important! you need to try and sit down and have a rational convo with him saying that maybe a more 'joint' way of going about things would be better seeing as the baby is on the way, and you want to be able to ensure that you both have enough for what you need etc.. i had to have this convo with DP too, not an easy one! relate everything to the baby, because in my DP's words its half me so i care more about them Hmm
and if all else fails? have some ice cream.. it makes the world a better place! i promise Grin

spotty highly likley im listening to placenta.. but ignorance is bliss!!

mini/everyone- add your flavour to the existing stats list thread? that way we can keep track with our pregnancy brains closer to the end of whos expecting what and when!!
