Thanks spotty, yep he does a combo of bum shuffling and crawling (cute as), he was funny as a little un , first baby I knew who'd still sit in a bumbo at 15 months! He was just happy sitting and watching. He is very mobile now, and does communicate by pointing and grunting, but he doesn't walk and has no actual words at all, not even 'mum'. Strange thing is, I wouldn't have even thought it was unusual until my doctor pointed it out when we were there for something totally unrelated. What a worry. Hope your lo gets on ok next wk, be thinking of you.

Clarella · 18/07/2012 21:04

Flipping Nora how fast a thread! (Cue mammoth post!)

Hope today's scans good.

Seymore, congratulations, what a lovely clear picture!
Congratulations also littlemiss! Another blue! I can imagine your worry, hope alls well for next one.
Extra test equal extra worry constantly I know nutella. Must admit glad I didn't do the nuchal thing now, couldn't handle it with all the other stuff.

Thrush - I personally had a lot of success with eating more natural live yoghurt and less sugar last year and sent mild recurrent thrush packing but of course preggo is another story!

Pru, Congrats! - hard to tell from pic, I'm saying 51% girl but agree prob boy due to "look away!"

Equimum - I'm finding aquanatal more sociable personally, giggles start more quickly due to what wallies we all look like, and chats in the shower. At preg yoga I feel embarrassed to be so flexible in the hips (touch wood) and some mums are getting really down about their hips etc and don't want to chat. (plus everyone so reserved due to silence) (no farts yet, that will help!)

Breast feeding - I know York had a Bf friendly list of public places eg cafes etc, might be worth checking locally. (i agree re the militant Bf mob, some simply can't, will find a link to good article on that.) I hope to Bf and will wherever, (with a nice wrap to cover as nec!) if you really think about it drinking cows milk is a bit weirder! ( I like milk) Don't think ill be able to bf infront of FIL, and BIL's though.

Pillows - just using a flat one or fat one depending so far, flat one does help under bump now, but aches have eased off now (bought camping mat instead for successful womad-ing!)

Honey that's brilliant and what a great way to work out a name!

Sorry to hear that mwah - my niece didn't walk till 2, crawled at 1, and many boys don't talk till 2 I gather at school (perfectly fine kids). (niece got distinction in grade 1 ballet) my sis was annoyed with the hospital's fussing.

I'm embarrassed about my bedside table :/

Everyone talks to my tummy now.

littlemissbroody26 · 18/07/2012 21:33

mwa i hope the tests all go well for you, this is my 1st but I work with little ones from 2 years, the difference is amazing some will have a full o chat with you and some will point/look out the window/bite.. I work with bi-lingual kids so it is a little different but fairly often they dont talk and then one day just start with loads of words.. like thay have been listening for ages wanting to get it exactly right.

spotty I hope your tests go ok too.

honeymum thats great that bubba is helping pick his own name!

I am great at spotting pregnant people by their lack of alcohol drinking!

WeeJo08 · 18/07/2012 21:34

Got letter back from hospital today saying my (urine) sample has come back with mixed growth again. This is the second time. Happened first at about 10/11 weeks but when I sent in another sample it came back fine so hoping that will happen again. Maybe I'm just not very good at peeing in a pot...Blush

Honeymum What a cool way to pick a name!

Honeymum, im your scan buddy! Im more excited than nervous at the moment. We're on holiday this week so it's something to look forward to once we get home

cherrypiew3 · 18/07/2012 22:03

Hello everyoneSmile

I have not posted for a while and its taken me ages to catch up.
Welcome to any newbiesSmile
congratulations to those of you that have had 20 week scans lots of very clear scan pictures.

Knotty have a good holiday.

I am still really struggling with the all day sickness I thought it would be gone by now, 19 weeks anybody else still got ms. I still don't look pregnant saw a friend last week told her I was expecting and she looked down at my belly and said "really you can not tell" Sad.

Good luck to anyone with scans tomorrow.
I am going to try my best to keep up with this thread its just you all talk lots.Grin

Clarella · 18/07/2012 22:10

Hi cherry, sorry to hear still so rubbish it must be awful to be like that for so long. I seem to get the odd day as I was in first tri at 21 wks but it wasn't really much then, and the type that meant either citrus or cheese fixed it.

Current thread; blink and you miss it. :)

Clarella · 18/07/2012 22:48

Need to splurge off chest about current shite in what is beginning to feel like bloody groundhog day - day 3 at school, kids fab, got low down re head being tad crap in everyone's pregnancy, hyper thyroid now so v twitchy, colleague really supporting me in.class bless her (she was actually being physically targeted by a child so at least not that to deal with), another slapped cheek case today, meltdown in front of head, deputy and colleague regarding thyroid/anxiety/blood tests/slapped cheek and heads attitude regarding risk asst, trampolining etc, all good in end though as just going through deputy for everything from now on, she's part time head in Sept anyway. phoned hospital will get another blood test for everything next week, and creep through next 2 days. (and breathe)

On the plus side bump gets a lot of being sung at (current class obsession - singing, not bump) and is being given random gifts (feathers, paper, plasticine) Plus they agree to walk behind me now (full year battle) if they can sing (a good deal imo) Child who went off rails appears to be super settled with me which is great and get to the meet new one tomorrow (fingers crossed for one who copes with playing 'guess the song' as words are not adhered to which can be interesting during hardcore trance song and a particular word is sung correctly but we wish it wasn't)

SeymoreInOz · 18/07/2012 23:06

spotty thanks, I will give the GP a try soon. I bloody hate gaviscon and I'm practically chugging it from the bottle at the moment!

mwah what a shock, hopefully they are just ruling things out at the moment.

clarella how stressful, hopefully the head will be better now she realises how much pressure you are under. I missed the bit about trampolining, don't tell me they wanted you to do it?! Shock

stacey I am Envy of your boob job. I've half jokingly told DH I want one after this. My boobs are bigger than ever and really angry and red, I just know when BF has finished they will be like sad spaniel ears. I also mentioned a tummy tuck too....

knotty have a great time!

cherry Honestly that's a good thing! More chance of everything going back to where it was if you show later!

Did anyone else feel lots more movement after their scan? This happened last time, it's like it wound the baby up! It's quietened down now.

SeymoreInOz · 19/07/2012 01:05

Ha! I meant "a really angry red". They're not actually angry. Grin

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 19/07/2012 02:47

mwah how stressful for u! I hope the hospital are just ruling things out. A friend of mines ds didn't talk until 3yo and his first words were 'mummy can I have a biscuit please' Hmm

seymore I had great boobs before I had kids and put on 4 stone, then lost most of it again but alas they are not what they used to be and DH knows I hate them (they are a little better in pregnancy but still not great) I wouldn't bother with a tummy tuck as I know that can be sorted through exercise. (having done it before) so I can do that one for a lot less money, with a lot of fun thrown in only way I've ever got a flat tummy is through pole fitness but my boobs I shall never be able to fix alone!

Headache again (since 3pm) that won't shift, in sure I'm dehydrated but can't seem to get enough fluid in me. Not much fun tbh!

FriendofDorothy · 19/07/2012 08:22

I am so frustrated today. We are trying to buy a house and it has already been put back several times. There are now boundary issues which need to be resolved before we can go through with the purchase and they are saying the earliest it is likely to happen is September. If we were able to move in straight away that would be fine but we have loads of work to do on it to make it habitable. It's just annoying!

I have a bad feeling we are going to end up having this baby at Mum and Dad's! :(

PurplePidjin · 19/07/2012 08:25

FoD house-buying SUCKS!!

Anyone else have to hold their breath to get their socks on? Blush

brooke89 · 19/07/2012 08:27

Good luck today strawberry and Ivana are you finding out the sex?

WeeJo08 · 19/07/2012 09:39

Pidj Yes! Also finding I have to bend down differently to pick anything up so I just don't pick things up.

OP posts:
MyDaydream · 19/07/2012 10:48

Good luck for those with scans today.
I'm not having to pick things up differently yet, but I imagine pretty soon it'll be different. My belly/boobs are so big that I didn't notice I was covered in flour the other day until I sat down and stretched my legs out!
I've been signed off work for a week with stress because I had a freak out this morning and couldn't breathe because I was so worried about going to work. It's not even really work, it's just work was brining out the symptoms. It's really taken a weight off my chest though, I feel so much better than I did even an hour ago.
Also big night tonight. My DP is meeting my dad for the first time. DP doesn't know this yet.

Bubbless · 19/07/2012 11:12

daydream- sorry to hear youve had to be signed off, do you think you had a panic attack? i get them all the time and they are petrifiying a little worrying.. if it ever happens again then pick up a magazine and try and read it outloud, and be really easy on yourself, ive phoned the paramedics more than once thinking i was dying Hmm

pidjin im bending at all sorts of weird angles to get things now! very odd, my bump popped yesterday! going to try and upload a photo now...

Bubbless · 19/07/2012 11:16

OKAY! can someone have a look and see if im fat or pregnant please!!

2blessed · 19/07/2012 11:36

Hello All, I'm a newbie but have been lurking for a while. This is my first baby due 23rd December and so far so good :-)
Next scan on 7 August and I don't want to find out the sex but DP does. Let me tell you this is the first of many disagreements about this child - name, surname etc
Anyway, looking fwd to chatting to you all

WeeJo08 · 19/07/2012 11:56

Bubbless That's a definite bump, I think! It looks nice and rounded :) I uploaded my bump pic too which (I think!) is getting more bump-like and less who-ate-all-the-pies which I think it was before!

Welcome 2blessed! Thankfully DH and I are in agreement about finding out the sex...although we still keep saying little test things to one another every few days..."So, you're definitely sure that we want to find out?" So far we have both been saying yes!

OP posts:
itsMYNutella · 19/07/2012 12:28

Bubbless pregnant... probably :o no I'm kidding, looks like a lovely little bump!
Weejo yours looks good too! I find it really depends on what I wear. Anyone else running out of jumpers (seems perverse to discuss this in "summer)? I was meeting some friends last night and had many wardrobe changes because I thought it better not to distort too many of my jumpers but I wanted to stay warm Confused
I have plenty of loose t-shirts (it's often humid here, I think they mostly look flattering i.e. more pregnant less flabby :o )

And welcome 2blessed! I don't want to know the sex either. DP did want to know but instead it is his job to announce what the baby is when it is born so he actually has a job at the delivery which he thinks is really sweet and special so that has been our compromise.

ellliebelle · 19/07/2012 12:48

Dh and i cant agree on the sex thing i am definately not finding out and dont want him to incase he let ir slup but i am feeling a bit like i should prob let him if he wants to know as its his child too
