Thanks so much for all you reassurance. You have made me feel much better Smile

applepieinthesky · 25/07/2012 09:01

I?m 23+5 and have an anterior placenta. My placenta is at the top so I only feel him if he goes down low but I seem to have a very active baby so feel small kicks most days now. I think it?s normal to still not feel much for several weeks though. You don?t start counting kicks until around 28 weeks so I wouldn?t worry about it until then.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 25/07/2012 09:05

No movements from my little shrimp today, he is usually on a wiggle almost constantly Confused
I slept badly last night, SPD kicking in so my hips/legs were in agony.

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/07/2012 09:13

Baby has quiet days here too but still feel movements throughout the day. Still use the Doppler sometimes when shes being particularly quiet.
Movements are mostly central/ around the belly button.

Off to my parents house today to chill in the garden and make the most of this hot weather!

SwissArmyWife · 25/07/2012 09:39

At 22/23 weeks I wasn't feeling anything regular either but now in my 25th week I'm getting battered by the little monkey!!
Last night he kicked me in my back and it really hurt! I also have an anterior placenta that got in the way, but it's amazing what difference a couple of weeks can make.
I also got a Doppler that was very reassuring while I couldn't feel him much, but don't really need to use it now :)

applepieinthesky · 25/07/2012 09:45

The achy right hip I had must have been the position baby is in. That would explain why the pain was all on the right and now it?s disappeared and is now on my left hip Grin At least I know what it is now.

Lilliana · 25/07/2012 09:57

Thanks Horsey, will have a look for some today. It's in the kitchen and our bedroom. Baby's room is fine. We try to dry clothes outside but have had to have them in the kitchen when wet which I know doesn't help.
Mrswee thanks, think my gran has a dehumidifier so might try to borrow that one for a bit. Glad that you are feeling better about work and hope it contines.

Re tax credits I need to look into what we will get as have no clue. It is frustrating seeing all these parents who have everything, pop out loads of children and have never worked while we have had to save for everything we have and put off having children as we can't afford it (Still not sure we can!) BUT what would I do all day if I didn't work -think I would be very bored!!

Tits I want to do some batch cooking too but have never frozen meals before so stupid question - what do you put them in to freeze? Blush (just thinking mine could all end up looking like sloppy brown gunk!)

Don't know anything about hypnobirthing, what are the cd's/books like? Any recommended ones?

I'm getting quite alot of movement at 23+4 but mostly low down below belly button. DH puts his head on my belly at night and has a chat with baby that gets him/her kicking like mad which he can feel, think it is beginning to recognise his voice maybe or is it too early?

Hope you are enjoying the sun although I am finding I can only cope outside in the late afternoon as it's too hot!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 25/07/2012 10:07

Hello. Sorry to hear so many are feeling rubbish. I'm suffering with PGP and fine pain mostly in right hip, right SI joint and right in symphasis as tho I have been kicked in the crotch. Also had a hacking cough for two weeks so went to GP today and have got antibiotics for a chest infection. Fun fun fun! Also DH's dad died suddenly on Fri 13th so that's been stressful too :(

DonnaDoon · 25/07/2012 10:15

Izzy I got the biters yesterday...impressed with speed of delivery and great for 3.99 ta muchly.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 25/07/2012 10:28

Lilliana if you have a pound shop near by or even eBay you can bulk buy large foil trays with lids, I make Shepard pie, dish pie, pasta bake, lasagne in them then transfer the whole thing to the freezer, then it's just a case of bunging the whole thing in the oven to heat through and serve with a bag of salad. Smile

Alamaya · 25/07/2012 10:52

Hey all,
Im a terrible poster im sorry. I think i catch one post per thread lol.
25 weeks tomorrow and im finishing work at about 33 weeks and boy i cant wait.
Had scan and found out we are having a boy. Which after my 14 month old ivf little girl was fab news.
Heres the thing, now i know it can happen naturally i have this crazy need to continue having more and more children even though this little man could be a complete fluke lol.
Also keep panacking about getting pre-eclamsia again and this time they are making me do a GTT test so more to dither about. Sigh.
If im not at the docs, midwife, hospital i swear work wouldnt know im there lol.
xx

Iheartpasties · 25/07/2012 10:53

Izzy sad news about your dh's dad.

NervousAt20 · 25/07/2012 11:03

Sorry about your DH dad izzy

Dixiebell · 25/07/2012 12:21

On kick charts, tbh I didn't do it last time, just kind of remained aware of kicks, and if ever thought I hadn't felt many I'd lie down and properly count for an hour. And usually there'd be so many within tge first 10 mins, it was fine. I think you just get a feeling about whether movements have changed. And yes, later on there is all kinds of elbows, knees, feet sticking out, and horrendous swooshing feeling as bubba rolls from one side to the other. All fun!

gardenpixies32 · 25/07/2012 12:25

Sorry to hear about your DH's dad Izzy.

Had my midwife appointment this morning. I am officially a beached whale.
25+2 today and measuring 33 weeks. I cannot wait to go on maternity leave. I am really struggling and my feet are like watermelons by the end of the day. 2 weeks & 2 days to go.

Lilliana · 25/07/2012 14:31

Izzy so sorry to hear about your DH's dad. Hope you and he are ok, take care x

Perfect, thanks Titsalina that is exactly the kind of thing I am going to make, will put the trays on my shopping list (why didn't I think of that?)

Peaky1 · 25/07/2012 15:11

I was thinking the same! Am going to get my butt to the pound shop. Good thing to do in general really as I'm a lazy arse cook in the first place. Nothing to do with having limited time for me! If I get in practice now then the kitchen will be reeking of minced beef/lamb in October, ha!

I'll be googling ideas of other prepared foods to freeze.

Sorry for those struggling with swelling and pain at the mo. Mine is my thoracic spine but mainly because my boobs are massive and my posture is shit. I'm not a good ambassador for the physios out there!

GTbaby · 25/07/2012 15:44

Oh dear fraggle is kicking like crazy. Can see belly moving. Waiting For my 3d scan ATM. Treck into Harley street was hard work on the tube Sad but will be worth it.
Got a party this evening, thur, Friday And I wedding on saturday.
Then to my sisters on Sunday to make baby shower invites. Went with hungry caterpillar theme.
LUCKY it's summer holidays Smile. Otherwise I'd be exhausted.

So bored sat in this waiting room!

WaitingForMe · 25/07/2012 17:09

Sorry to hear about your DH's dad Izzy.

Grin at you calling the Laboraide's "biters" Donna. I'm definitely going to be referring to them as that (I ordered some too).

DH was sweet this morning. I was grumbling that my nipples were the size of dinner plates (what is with that?!!!) and he replied that baby would be feeding off them so that made sense and I was beautiful Smile

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/07/2012 17:38

waiting I've got bloody great nipples too but my boobs are only a B cup so they are basically the same size as my boob which looks hideous.

Having smoked mackerel with new pots and salad for dinner tonight. Really looking forward to it and it's v healthy too!

MissMummy1 · 25/07/2012 17:51

Sorry to hear about your fil izzy

Was looking at cot bedding earlier - where to start?! I know the style I want but hane no idea what we actually NEED (quilt, sheets, duvet, blankets, bumper...) any advice greatly appreciated!

Probs tmi but I managed to cut myself down there when shaving in the shower this morning. Never managed that before, been so painful all day. Maybe time to brave up and go back to waxing - that pain was nothing in comparisson!

Chunkychicken · 25/07/2012 18:21

It isn't advised to use a quilt/duvet/pillow before 12mths MissMummy so sheets definitely, probably blankets and/or a grobag at some point. You'll need a fitted/bottom sheet and potentially a sheet plus blanket for winter bedding needs.

Sorry about your FIL Izzy

Waiting I have VERY dark big nipples, that are super sensitive and stick out about a mile when provoked, plus they've started leaking, so feel your pain!!

Hope the scan went well GTbaby :)

ValiumQueen · 25/07/2012 18:28

Sorry to hear about your FIL izzy. Do they know what happened?

missMummy I sliced my inner labia once. Not something you do twice. Nice little notch out of it. I was not brave enough to have it stitched ( too embarrassed to go to hospital).

Re: bedding. If I were buying again I would just get plain sheets from Tesco or similar, and buy gro bags. I always use a waterproof sheet, and a muslin where the head is, so if they posset you do not need to change the whole bed. The matching stuff is lovely, but I think the guidance is to not use duvets or pillows with young babies. I would get a few cellular blankets, and a couple of swaddle pods for the early days. I actually bought material for my cot bedding in 1987. After keeping it all that time, I was determined to use it.

MissMummy1 · 25/07/2012 18:29

Thanks chunky that's what I thought. Seems ridiculous that big companies sell them in 'newborn bedding bundles' when they're not recommended. Today I feel completely clueless!
