I agree with those saying get some good fitting maternity clothes rather than normal things in a bigger size. I've got some fab jeans from H&M. Might have to go get some black skinnies Eliza

I've got two weddings, two christenings and a 60th coming up so I've bought two maternity dresses from ASOS and a firetrap maxi dress in the sale. Just need some strappy silver sandals now. And could do with a bag Confused

I am unbelievably tired! How bad is it going to be in the last trimester? And once the babies born? If I'm so tired already! I went to bed with 5 pillows yesterday, got a little more sleep but not great

StuntNun · 19/07/2012 11:21

Sorry to be a voice of dissent in amongst you bump-haters but I love my bump! I can't stop staring at it or pulling up my top to show DH how huge I'm getting or asking my DS's if they want to kiss their baby brother! Yes my clothes don't fit and I'm getting stretch marks and everything but this is one time in my life where I don't have to think too hard about what I'm eating or how much exercise I'm doing. I'm trying to eat healthily apart from that curry chip last night and maintain my fitness but at least weight loss is completely off the cards.

Yey Stunt I love my bump too. Am off to the midwifes now - will see how I measure up - bet I get told I'm measuring big Blush stuffs packet of biscuits under sofa cushions Have a lovely day ladies!

Iheartpasties · 19/07/2012 11:34

I do love my bump and I love looking at it, but I would love some good fitting clothes!! Some days I think I look ok in an outfit I have put together and other days I just cannot seem to look decent!? It's all in my head though (I'm sure).

Thechick · 19/07/2012 11:36

I have just managed to catch up on this thread. We really do talk alot.
Thanks all for the congrats. And a big unmumsnetty ((((hug))))) to all of those not having the best of times at the mo!!

I'm going to a wedding in Aug and I don't really want to buy a maternity dress, I was thinking of going to Phase Eight or Monsoon that stop just under the boobs and then flow and hopefully I'll be able to wear it again after the baby is born, but I'm looking with interest at other suggestions. I bought some nice dresses in the Gap maternity sale. I think they were £18 but they will be for work and hopefully will take me to the end.

applepieinthesky · 19/07/2012 11:44

If I don?t read the thread every day I get so behind. A bit difficult when my laptop is still playing up.

I don?t know who said they were drowning in tiredness but that explains perfectly how I feel. I can?t imagine working to 35 weeks as planned if this exhaustion doesn?t lift Sad Midwife appointment tomorrow and I can?t wait to hear baby?s heartbeat again. That?s what?s getting me through this week.

My mum emailed me earlier to say she has bought me a changing unit to match the nursery and a musical bouncy chair. I wasn?t expecting it as she bought a moses basket a couple of weeks ago plus the car seat and loads of clothes. Baby shopping is nearly complete!

ValiumQueen · 19/07/2012 13:02

Leg in plaster for three weeks then review. Walking plaster so not removable. Already fed up of it. No idea how I will change nappies as do so on the floor. They wanted to do a CT scan but couldn't as pregnant. May need plaster on again.

Oh no Valium i do feel for you. How old is your LO? Can you change the nappy on your lap? I know thata bit awkward, but sometimes works for me if I'm to achey to kneel on the floor to change a nappy.

ditsygem · 19/07/2012 13:18

I love my actual bump - but hate the weight gain that has come with it - I feel huge, and can't get over the numbers on the scales going up to amounts I would never normally see. I know it is pregnancy weight logically, but my unlogical side of my head is still horrified.
My boss was telling me how beautiful and glowing I looked to day though which was really sweet, but just struggling to feel it! I agree that good maternity clothes help though.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 19/07/2012 13:20

I can make peace with my bump, I know it will lead to a beautiful new baby :) the acne however is just ridiculous! I have never had a spot in my life until I got pregnant this time and from day one my face is just full of spots, they are sore, red and angry and I'm not exaggerating when I say they cover my entire face and to make it worse, make up doesn't even begin to cover them. Sad

horseylady · 19/07/2012 13:23

Not good vallium hope it heals quickly. Try not to rush it as youcan compound the fracture even more. They must want more detail to suggest a ct though!?

Someone asked me when the baby was due today and was then shocked when I was nearly 6 months! Nice that people are seeing pregnant bump not fat!!

ValiumQueen · 19/07/2012 13:35

DD2 was 2 in April. Bit big to do on my lap. May try on sofa.

It is important to remember just how much extra blood, and fluid we are carrying in addition to baby and placenta. Post birth I wee'd away 18lb in the first week. We are doing a wonderful thing in making a baby. Our bodies will never be quite the same again, but each stretch mark or scar is a mark of the wonderful thing, and when we have our babies it will be so worth it.

ShellyBobbs · 19/07/2012 13:45

Ooooh Valium sounds nasty. Can't you use a changing mat on the dining table or something?

My bump has totally changed shape now, it's all out front and has moved further down, my roll of fat from under my busters has disappeared completely and muffin tops seem to be going the same way. Thank you baby!

Figured out why I had the trots yesterday, but not until I was loading yet another carrier bag full of fruit into my boot. I must be eating the equivalent of a monkey's fruit bowl every day, new craving, Passion fruit yummy yummy! I eat that much fruit now that at night I'm quite uncomfortably bloated with it all. I never ever ate fruit before but just can't stuff enough in my face, I even have tinned fruit in the cupboard for back up Blush

ValiumQueen · 19/07/2012 14:08

The only table we have is in the kitchen, and the idea is a bit icky, but probably the best solution, so thank you shelly.

daisychain76 · 19/07/2012 14:25

Just has my rescan to try and get final view of the baby's spine and, yup, it totally refused to move again despite me rolling one side than another, walking round, etc. They offered me a third try, but from what they've seen everything's fine so I am leaving it. It was once again lying on its back with its arm over its head, so I am hoping it is a sign of a chilled out little one!

I have never seen a pregnant woman who did not look special and lovely, whatever their body shape and size, I'm sure all anyone else sees when they look at a pregnant woman is the fact they have this gorgeous bump that will turn into a cute new born. Smile

ValiumQueen · 19/07/2012 14:46

That is a lovely sentiment daisy and I agree wholeheartedly. Sorry your wean was non-compliant.

YellowWellies · 19/07/2012 15:55

Back from midwife visit, was the midwife and the consultant (they need to see you to decide if you're allowed to give birth on the island or sent south to Aberdeen), midwife was lovely, bloke doctor was very nice but a bit scatterbrained so although I was told 'gosh, you're measuring big' he didn't tell me the measurement or write it down in my notes. Grrr. Have just tried to measure myself (which I know is pointless and I make me 25cm at 22 weeks, which is just outside of the normal range). He said there was nothing at the scan to suggest a big baby - so it's just lots of fluid.

Glad they measured my blood pressure before they tried to find the heartbeat - bp was v nice and healthy. Then took them twenty minutes to find the fecking heartbeat with the doppler. I reckon I was about a couple of minutes away from an emergency scan as the doctor started to look very panicked and was already onto the second doppler machine. Despite me telling them that the baby feels like it's down right at the bottom of my uterus hugging my bladder - it took the doc forever to believe me - and lo when they checked, there was junior fast asleep. Seems to be their snoozing spot - but oh my word it's starting to get really uncomfy. Think I need to get some maternity knickers as my normal ones are so tight when the baby insists on sleeping down there right on the knicker line. God knows why I'm carrying so high when they're lurking down there!!!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 19/07/2012 16:42

yellow my little one is a pickle at times, my bump is high, right under my boobs but all my kicks are scarily low down and for all scans he has been asleep, on his face really low down. Grin
He'll have a grumpy little wiggle when tapped by the sonographer but then will resume his position.

I've been summonsed randomly by the hospital tomorrow, the consultant wants to see me, not a clue why, time will tell I guess. Confused

I've waged war on the kittens fleas today, I've stripped and boiled the bedding, sprayed, powdered and hoovered the whole house. Nothing more for me today, I'm pooped!

Brockle · 19/07/2012 17:10

Had my MW appointment today and all good. I thought my little concern about a big overdue baby was a bit insignificant but the MW was really understanding and is going to book me in for a consultant appointment at 38 weeks to sign me off for a waterbirth (had a bleed with DS1) and to discuss booking an earlier then usual appointment for an induction so hopefully no going over by more than seven days. I am sure little one will be around the right time but it is nice to have some reassurance that I am not being silly Smile

Exhausted and had a major meltdown this morning so the DP took half a day off and turned up with flowers and made me tuna melts for lunch. Spent the afternoon on the sofa watching True Blood while my DH cleaned. Great stuff Grin

DesperateHousewife21 · 19/07/2012 17:24

Spent the day at my friends house, she's having her first baby due in dec and she's just got two kittens they're so gorgeous. Spent the entire time telling ds to be gentle with them though.

yellow another one here whose baby likes to hang out right on top of the bladder. I'm starting to get kicks nearer my belly button now but most of the time she's over to the right and tucked up down low. Think her head is down there and her legs are starting to kick out which is what I'm feeling higher up.

YellowWellies · 19/07/2012 17:33

Good luck at the hospital tomorrow tits! Am sure all will be well - but gawd that's a bit nerve wracking.

What are the odds that this little bellydweller who feels like they're practicising getting engaged already - turns out to be breech when they need to be in this position in November!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 19/07/2012 18:13

I am craving something and I can't work out what! Confused
It's a drink, really refreshing and still, and cold. Can't work it out though. I hate when this happens.

Passmethecrisps · 19/07/2012 18:25

Hello,

Finally got into the spare room today to do a bit of tidying. You can now see the floor so baby is one step closer to having a bedroom.

Few hours of that totally wiped me out though. Ended up going for a lie down while DH went to the supermarket and made tea.

I have another bladder fan. I have a pair of under the bump jeans which seem to press right on where baby prefers to lie. This is despite the fact that my bump starts under my boobs.

Passmethecrisps · 19/07/2012 18:26

tits sounds like white wine Grin
