Congrats to you, Cakes, and welcome to little Isla! Beautiful name! Can't wait to see you on the post-grad thread when you have some time to think.

Aah Cakes Thanks huge congratulations, fabulous news. Sled has a beautiful name too.

Sprinkle's baby dust all over Sweetie

Congratulations also to Little on a good scan and a little ds :)

Princesslovelyboo · 05/10/2012 18:12

Blush she not sled. Stupid fat phone fingers.

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 05/10/2012 18:13

Does anyone want or need any iron tablets? I have two unopened bottles of 14mg tablets that I apparently don't need to take any more... free to a good home :)

musicalmrs · 05/10/2012 18:36

Congratulations cakes! Beautiful name too. Hope you're enjoying your newborn snuggles :)

Fluffy, eagerly awaiting your sneeze...

Biscuitsandtea · 05/10/2012 18:40

Fluff is there any chance you might need iron tablets after the birth? I had a third degree tear and lost a lot of blood a super easy birth with ds1 and was on iron tablets for ages. Obviously you won't have any blood loss type probs, because you're a brooker and Ds1 was before my brooking days, but just a thought.

GreenOlives · 05/10/2012 18:57

Congratulations Cakes! Thanks Lovely, lovely news! :)
And you too Little, a little DS growing nicely - fabulous! :)
All good with my scan too. Babyolives is growing well and measuring spot on for dates. To say Im relieved is an understatement! We may have a similar situation to Tock with the sonographer perhaps inadvertently giving away the sex but I have decided to assume it was just a slip of the tongue and we'll see in about 4 months what pops out! Am a little disappointed because of that but hey, worse things happen!
Love to you all, will read back properly over next few days and catch up. X

Biscuitsandtea · 05/10/2012 19:09

Yay for good scan news Little and olives.

jaggythistle · 05/10/2012 20:18

congrats cakes and Isla Thanks

glad to hear of good scan news too

(one handed typing with heavyweight baby feeding)

GenericDietCola · 05/10/2012 20:32

Congratulations Cakes! Love the name too and hope you did have a sneeze birth!

Little and Olives hurrah for the fantastic scan news! Little, lovely that you are having a DS! And Olives, I would assume it was a slip of the tongue - it's a UBB and I will brook no argument!

Lovely to see so many postgrads in here too - ah lovely babies everywhere!

clickingtock · 05/10/2012 20:53

Wonderful work Cakes - we are so proud of you. Hope you got the best cuppa ever once you'd popped. Look forward to hearing all. Isla - I agree - is a lovely name. And born in Abergavenny - she's bound to be a poet.

Little - did I get it right? Anyway - over the moon for you. I am a big fan of little boys (even if mine is pressing all my buttons).

Olives - we can be slip of the tongue buddies. These sonographers may have a default for UBBs you know. The Chinese gender predictor says I'm having a girl after all.

Biscuits - can't believe DS2 is 7mths. I remember when you were 20wks!!!

Hugs to all; have a great weekend. xxxx

scarletfingernail · 05/10/2012 21:42

Huge congratulations Cakes, what a beautiful name Thanks

I have to stick my two penneth in re the toddler gender predictors.

Everyone, absolutely everyone was convinced my DC2 would be another boy, myself included. We didn't even consider for a moment that we might have a girl, we were that sure. Except for DS. He was adamant from the minute he found out I was pregnant that the baby in my tummy was his baby sister. I was even worried that he'd be disappointed when his new brother arrived and had to say to him that the baby might not be a girl but that he would have a lovely little brother to look after instead. He still insisted that the new baby would be a girl. He was right. The rest of us were in shock for about 2 weeks afterwards.

I had identical symptoms both times and looked the same both times. The scan photos for DS and DD are almost identical. Weirdly though, the Chinese gender predictor was right both times. I know I know there's a 50% chance that it's going to be right anyway

Lovely news re baby DS Little Thanks

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 05/10/2012 21:54

Congratulations Cakes!! That's wonderful news!! A second Isla to join the mini No Brooker ranks! Isla is at the top of my DD2 name list Cannot wait to see you over on the postgrad thread! Well done!!!!!!

Bartlet, Rubber, Cakes, are you all part of a FB group?! How do you know each other on FB?

TheLittleFriend · 05/10/2012 22:04

scream there is a no brooking fb group, everyone welcome to join. I think fluff might be an administrator who can add you? I know spark was over in ttc, but think she's having a mn/fb break

musicalmrs · 05/10/2012 22:15

I'm part of it too Scream - you should join! (I'm more of a quiet member, though I did announce DD's birth on there before MN as MN was broken, as usual!)

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 05/10/2012 22:34

scream I think I have to friend you to add you - if you pm me your facebook link I'll do the deed :)

I forgot to say congrats to little and olives too! Olives I think sonographers tend to just choose a he or she to refer to the baby as it's better than "it"? I wouldn't take what she said to heart.

I can't believe biscuits popped a whole 7 months ago Shock you're right, I might need some iron... hopefully not 2 packs/180 days worth though!! :o

I think I've accidentally become part of a quiche. A quiche of people who are recognised on here Shock At least, someone very serious has decided I'm one of them.

I'm really very sorry. I think I'll hang around on here until it's safe to come out again Sad

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 06/10/2012 01:10

How did I miss that a FB group had been set up!?! Fluffy I've PM'd you, please tell me what to do when you have a moment.

If everyone's under their real names on the FB group how do you know which RL person = which MN person?! Confused

I hope Cakes is enjoying newborn snuggles right now! Fluffy you're up!

whimsicalname · 06/10/2012 02:35

Great news cakes. And on the scans too little and olives. On the gender thing, I would say I've had 3 very different pregnancies. But have produced remarkably similar gendered children!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 06/10/2012 09:52

We have A List scream or we did but then sparks deleted herself and it vanished
