Princesslovelyboo · 06/10/2012 10:15

The list is slowly coming back :)

ScrambledSmegs · 06/10/2012 10:17

Do we all need to add our names to a new list again? Sorry you didn't know, Scream, the group isn't a secret but I guess you missed the hubbub when it got set up?

Hope you're all well. Can't remember congratulating olives and little on good scans, so have another Thanks from me.

JenFrankenstein · 06/10/2012 10:21

There is a names list. It got deleted so has been started again Scream

Princesslovelyboo · 06/10/2012 10:28

Did you change your name again?

JenFrankenstein · 06/10/2012 10:32

I couldn't think of a seasonal one for Rubber so have gone back to Jen temporarily. Have thought of Christmassy ones for both so will see which one I like best in Dec

Princesslovelyboo · 06/10/2012 10:34

I can never think of a good festive name change :(

JenFrankenstein · 06/10/2012 10:39

Well BOO would be fitting :)

Princesslovelyboo · 06/10/2012 10:40

Face/palm why am I so stupid?? Wait there!!

ScrambledSmegsEvilTwin · 06/10/2012 10:41

Oh, I'm rubbish at seasonal name changes. This is mine, but very Hmm about it.

JenFrankenstein · 06/10/2012 10:41

I've only had 2 previously, JenFestive and JubileeFraggle :)

PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 06/10/2012 10:54

It's my own fault for not keeping up with the antenatal thread properly! I'm missing out on lots of good stuff not just the FB group I'm sure!!

Hmmm... festive names... Mine should be easy but my brain is totally cake obsessed today (I'm doing a practice run on the 80-piece, two tier cake I'm making for DD's naming ceremony!) Any suggestions welcome!

Hi All, Thanks for the messages, we are both home. Wasn't quite the sneeze birth I had in mind. Quick birth story- contractions started about 1.30am Thursday about every 10min. Dh phoned for MW at 3 when contractions were every 5 min was 2cm. MW went then Dh phoned her again at 7 she came was 5cm. Was doing alright on just paracetemol, keeping upright and mobile decided to have home birth, even made use of having a bath. Second MW arrived I slowed down, then eventually got going again thanks to toast and strawberry jam! Got to 9cm and stalled again. about 8pm it was decided I needed to be transferred to hospital. After hour and a quarter in Ambulance still having contractions got to hospital. Had a tiny bit of gas and air. Baby was monitored, MW started to give options, then baby was really unhappy so it was emergency C-section under general anaesthetic about 20min later Isla arrived. Not quite what I had in mind on my birth plan!!
All good now though in scheme of things, she is gorgeous Grin

TheLittleFriend · 06/10/2012 21:17

Wow cakes that sounds quite dramatic! But great to hear that you are both home. Enjoy these first precious weeks xxSmile

ScrambledSmegsEvilTwin · 06/10/2012 21:37

Goodness cakes, you have been through the mill. Have you been offered a birth review/debrief thing? I would really recommend having one, even if you're ok about it all now. The mind is a funny thing.

Hope you're really enjoying the first few weeks Smile Thanks

scarletfingernail · 06/10/2012 21:42

Wow that was a dramatic arrival Little. I hope you're recovering well.

I thought I'd posted earlier, but I'm clearly cracking up. Just nipped in to ask Fluff to hold off on the sneeze birth for a little while as I've just PM'd you my FB details. Would you mind adding me to the group please?

Biscuitsandtoffeeapples · 06/10/2012 21:58

Wowee Cakes - what a dramatic arrival! So glad you're both home and safe now though. Hope it is all going ok?

Wow though - an hour and a quarter in the ambulance! Shock. Is that how far you live from the hospital? You're in Wales though no?

Fluff I've PM'd you too so you can sort me out while you're sorting out scarlet as it were. It's ok if you're already in labour, you can just do it between contractions WinkGrin

scarletfingernail · 06/10/2012 22:16

I really am cracking up. Apologies Little and Cakes. Of course I was referring to Cakes's DD's arrival. Blush

I'm still traumatised from one of DD's nappies from earlier this evening. Poo up to the back of her neck and all the way down to her feet. No exaggeration.

cakes82 · 06/10/2012 22:36

They mentioned to Dh about the debrief but not sure i've had anything that was specifically referred to as a debrief. Forgot to mention that at Hospital they said Isla was back to back as well as my body stalling.

We have two district general hospitals that the southern part of county uses, both are a similar distance time wise from where I live but one is in England and one is is Wales and we wanted the Welsh one Smile

ScrambledSmegsEvilTwin · 07/10/2012 00:32

Hmm - maybe ask your Midwife or HV?

Sorry I'm posting so late. I've caught DH's viral bug thing and have been sick all evening. Now MNing in bed next to emergency bucket Sad. Sleep evading me.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 07/10/2012 00:38

Wow Cakes! Sounds a bit scary, but totally worth it for your brand new cutie! Well done for getting through it!

Biscuitsandtea · 07/10/2012 05:13

A link to the now post grad thread - come see us Smile

scarletfingernail · 07/10/2012 08:43

Meant to say yesterday, well done your DDs Scream and pomme on the improved sleep.

Hawthers sorry to hear your worries re DS1. I guess there's not much anyone can say to make you feel better about it as you will probably always worry about how his early arrival might impact on his future. But I can say there are lots of babies born at term who are behind in their development, my DS included and I have stressed so much in the past about kids the same age developing much quicker. I'm sure as your DS gets older these differences will become far less noticable. It must be upsetting for you if you're worried, you naturally want your DH to reassure you and if it then becomes apparent he's worried as well it can make everything appear much worse.

Thanks for new thread Biscuits. Sorry to hear you're sleep deprived. I admit that I would probably do the same as your DH if it were the middle of the night and toy just want DS back to sleep ASAP. But yes if he spent more time with him in the day this might possibly help to prevent the rejection.

scarletfingernail · 07/10/2012 08:44

That's it, I'm officially losing the plot.

That last post was meant for post grads. And it took me an age to type on my phone.
