Well I was super patient and waited until this morning to do my clea blue test. It came up with pregnant nice and quickly and then said 2-3 weeks since conception. So I reckon I'm about right on my EDD guesstimate. Nice to have some EDD buddies!

Thanks for the lovely welcome, everyone - I'd better go and do some work now...

Leftwingharpie · 27/06/2012 08:40

Does everyone else keep properly staring at women with pg bumps?! Blush

Impressed with your restraint kurly very well done - and hooray for having an early March EDD! I think March is a lovely time to be born - first signs of spring, longer days, and walks out in the pram after months of being fat indoors :o

harpie is does become an obsession doesn't it? All of a sudden EVERYONE is pregnant. I wonder if you'll notice people staring at you when you've a bump too? I felt a bit invisible oddly - I remember one man parking alongside me walking along the pavement and opening the door onto me. His door actually banged into my (enormous) bump! Twunt :o

Well I have caught DH's latest work bug. Grr. Have scratchy throat and sinus pain. No pills or potions for me, I shall have to see it out tough-girl-style. It does mean that I can't work out if symptoms are bug or pregnancy so I took another test just to make sure

Well we signed for our purchase and sale yesterday. Our purchasers are signing this morning so we have everything crossed that we exchange (my bets are that we don't and it happens last thing on Friday, just to keep my blood pressure as high as possible). Virtual champagne for you all when it happens!

Re: early scans - I shall be most envious of those of you getting a sneaky peek of your LOs early doors, though for those who have had mc I completely understand why you would of course. There's no chance for me on the nhs and I can't justify a private scan, so I shall be patiently waiting it out. This moving business provides such a distraction I hope it'll be easier than last time - when I spent every day at work staring into the middle distance and googling...

Happy days all :)

kurlyvoice · 27/06/2012 10:01

tiddley, I too will have to be patient on the scan front - given that pre-eclampsia is, by definition, a latter half of pregnancy condition, there's no argument for me to have an early scan!

Good for you to have the house move as a distraction - though mind you don't do any heavy lifting! My DS was born on 12th March, and we had a wonderful spring that year so I did loads of walking out with the pram, revelling in my new-found energy!

I too have been staring enviously at large bumps, harpie for a while now and hope I get that far!

holls2000 · 27/06/2012 12:25

Oh yes, harpie I deffo look at bumps - they probably think I'm some sort of bump fetishist!!

Sick feeling hasn't been as bad today though I am feeling STARVING all the time, having not felt at all hungry the last few days. Funny taste not as bad, but perhaps I'm just getting used to it! Really want this dating scan as I have some confusion as to how far along I am - think 5+4 perhaps.

Because doc told me feeling queasy was a good thing, I'm willing it on!!!

Hope you all have a good day
xx

Leftwingharpie · 27/06/2012 14:17

All the time I was waiting to TTC there seemed to be millions of pg women everywhere - it's only dawned on me now that the ones with obvious bumps are the tip of the iceberg!

Hello, can I join please?

I think I'm due end Feb/early March, but seeing as I have no idea when my last period was or how long my cycles are (af only returned three months ago because of breastfeeding), and we weren't ttc, I'm not entirely sure Blush.

This will be DC2 for us - DC1 is 20 months old. We were planning to try for DC2 at the end of the year, so this is a bit of a surprise. And we only DTD once! Sorry, far, far TMI :o. But DH now thinks he is a super hero.

My DS doesn't sleep, at all, ever, so I guess we will be well prepared for the next one, although frankly I'm terrified at going from one to two. I also had PND last time and found the newborn stage very difficult (he's the light of my life now, mind) so I need to make contact with the mw soon to make sure I get the right support.

Along with not getting much sleep I am still breastfeeding - I intend to tandem feed if DS wants to continue - and I have an interview for promotion next week. So I have bought pregnacare max because I think I'll need it!

The worst thing, though, the absolute worst thing is that I just started a course of laser hair removal. They won't let me continue while pregnant so I'll have to postpone for at least a year!

Good thing I haven't lost my sense of perspective Wink

bbface · 27/06/2012 20:27

Welcome julieS (love your name!). Congratulations! Sounds like you have a lot on your plate, so look after yourself.

I am sitting at my dining table feeling utterly stuffed. This happened last pregnancy, my appetite absolutely roared into life very early on, and then died with a whimper around 5 months. So I don't feel too worried, but still.... This is bloody uncomfortable. Usually I eat about half my dh's portion, but for next few months I am guessing he will be fighting over seconds.

Saw doc today, and booked app with midwife for Monday. It is half hour long, thank goodness ds at nursery so I will be able to concentrate. Julies, sorry to hear about pnd. Def get yourself the support network est ASAP.

Def going to go ahead with early scan, £50... Not an insignificant sum of money.... But I am pleading my mental health to dh, and he has caved in agreed it is worthwhile.

I am reading through all the pamphlets they passed me, our babies will be developing eyelids soon. Cute!

tiddleypompom · 27/06/2012 20:32

Wotcha julie - and congratulations (aimed at your superhero clearly, rather than you) :o

I am watching tennis through my fingers (gunning for sharapova's opponent at present) but feeling crap as cold has hit good and proper. AND we didn't bloody well exchange again. I will therefore catch up when I am feeling sunny and chatty again - rather than cross and snotty!

Hope DS manages a few hours for you julie, and looking forward to swapping battle scars soon. I do share the 'fear' of newborn phase again though, you aren't alone :)

newyearsday · 28/06/2012 09:10

Hello ladies and congratulations!

My edd is 4/3/13. Very nervous and excited. This is dc2, ds1 is 13mths. I stopped bfing in March, periods came back 4wks later, pg 2nd cycle (amazed, took 18mths to conceive dc1!), I'm a dedicated charter so know my dates exactly!

Feeling lots of lovely symptoms: stretching womb and twinges in the ovaries, mild nausea, ravenous, thirsty, very tired. Already feeling bloated and uncomfortable in my tight jeans.

I feel a lot more relaxed than I did 1st time round, just taking it a day at a time though the early weeks.

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 8mths x

EricNorthmansFangBanger · 28/06/2012 11:26

Welcome Julie and newyears, good to have you on board :)

Kurly - I took another clear blue digital on Tuesday and it has gone up to 2-3 weeks so feeling fairly confident my EDD is in fact 5th March, which is one day before my birthday Grin

Feeling crampy a bit still, weird feeling around my lower back too, but I'm assuming that is just everything stretching out. Slightly nauseous but not so much now. Blooming hot spells a lot though and the odd dry mouth too.

Popinda · 28/06/2012 12:13

Hello can I join too? I got my bfp yesterday! Very excited! My edd based on last af is 03.03.12, but I think it would be more like 07.03.13 as I ov later in my cycle and I'm on cd32 and only 13 dpo.
Congrats to all BFPs! It's so a exciting and worrying at the same time! I'm so scared of mc or something not being right with the baby. Does anyone else have the same feeling? I have no reason to feel like that!
I also wanted to say re friends who ttc, I have a friend who has been ttc since sept last year and can't get pg! Already one of our other friend is pg and it was hard for her to get over that. Don't get me wrong, she was happy about it, but also sad at the same time. I'm worried how she is going to feel when I tell her as she didn't know we ttc and it only took us 2cycles! What is the best way to tell her?

Popinda · 28/06/2012 12:22

Also forgot to say that we are moving house too! So def this thread should call: sue in march 2013 and moving house! Grin

tiddleypompom · 28/06/2012 14:14

hello newyear and popinda! Welcome & congratulations!

Still full of cold, bleugh.

Yep I am sure we all spend considerable time worrying that something might go wrong and I guess we have 8 months to go before that ceases! Best just to enjoy every day as much as you can, look after yourself & keep away from google :o

Still waiting to exchange. Sigh.

Tay1981 · 28/06/2012 17:23

Hello Everyone

Yet another EDD of 5/3/13 here! Have known I was pregnant for a little while now no symptoms to speak of just 'that feeling'. That was 10 days ago got a fairly definitive pos with a first response - just done another cheap CVS (Im in the US) test for reassurance and got a nice strong line so starting to feel it might be real! Period was due Mon so quite late now and been feeling twingey and crampy since the first test so hoping thats a good sign rather than AF on the way.

Overwhelming feeling right now is NERVES. I had horrific hypermeresis with DD1 and then had a blood clot after she was born and apparently could have died although that detail really passed me by at the time - was much more focussed on needing to get out of hospital to breast-feed!!! (They wouldn't allow her in hops with me cos middle of swine flu outbreak!) Anyway that means I have to have inject myself daily with blood thinners apparently which I am not looking forward to but rather that than the sickness ugh really not looking forward to that esp with DD1 to look after.

I was supposed to book in with doc right away for blood thinners but am on hols at the moment so am trying to enjoy the feeling of being pregnant without all the bloody complications!! However have to confess to frantic knicker checking and over-analysis of every possible symptom. Grr. If only I could just relax and enjoy it!! Still have enjoyed reading the thread and realizing we are all just the same!!

Here's hoping for straightforward pregnancies for all of us x

AuntieJu · 28/06/2012 17:53

Wow so many newbies - congratulations to you all and welcome to the thread.

I'm now 4+2 and counting... hopefully too far on to be a chemical pregnancy (fx) although symptoms seem a bit less so making me slightly concerned - maybe just getting used to hormones? I feel another CB test is necessary! Still need to register with GP - crazy busy with work at the moment so wondering when I will have time

kurlyvoice · 28/06/2012 18:24

Congratulations to all the newbies, and welcome - get yourselves settled in with a nice glass of schloer and some cake. Can't believe how many 5th March-ers we have - it might be a bumper thread!

I'm feeling less sick today which of course is making me worry - ridiculous but you lovely ladies understand. It's one of my non-work days today so I have been enjoying playing with DS. We had to do a quick bit of shopping and aaaaaah to the little vests and babygros! 'Twas a bit tricky as I was shopping with DB and couldn't let on.

DH and I didn't tell anyone except my parents, my BF, and my HoD last time until after the scan but I'm not sure what our approach is going to be this time. Anyone got any thoughts on the matter?

Tay, you poor thing with the hyperemesis and the blood clot fear. At least there's something to help! I have pre-eclampsia fear so understand the extra worry. Popinda I have that fear too - it feels like such a long time until the 12/13 week scan. :-(

Right, should really stop watching Wimbledon go and bathe DS. He had his first drink using a straw today and worked it out almost straightaway .

Leftwingharpie · 28/06/2012 19:17

Have you seen this footage of childbirth on the Daily Mail website - it's amazing!

OP posts:
Leftwingharpie · 28/06/2012 19:20

Kurly the plan is to wait till after the scan - but we're off to a wedding tomorrow with a load of close friends and DH and I will be separated a lot as he is best man, so I'll be sitting with my friend who's due in November and her husband. I'm sure I'll fool them with my pretend drinking and/or pretend antibiotics - not!

OP posts:
Leftwingharpie · 28/06/2012 19:24

Popinda I'm neurotic. I can't stop worrying. This seems like such a massive fluke, I can't believe I'd be lucky enough for it to last. I can't stop googling.

ilpm · 28/06/2012 20:37

Hi everyone. I found out on Sunday I'm pregnant with my 1st. I think I'm due march 3rd. It's all a bit scary so pleased to be able to talk about it with other people on here. So far have been extremely thirsty even a few days before I took a pregnancy test and the last couple of days the inside of my mouth has been really sore. Anyone else got this? Not had any sickness really yet although now and again think I might be a bit nauseous.

ilpm · 28/06/2012 20:40

Another thing is I've had very light brown discharge the last couple of days which is concerning me but no pain so from what I've read should be ok?

Leftwingharpie · 28/06/2012 21:09

Congratulations ilpm. I had excessive thirst to start off with but also bizarrely excessive saliva at the same time! Don't they say that brown discharge is ok and it's red that you need to worry about?

jessi0343 · 28/06/2012 21:59

Hi everyone! Jumping on board as I just got my BFP this morning. I think EDD is march 6th, and this will be our 2nd (dd is 12 months). Congrats on all the bfps!

Leftwingharpie · 28/06/2012 23:33

Jessi congratulations and welcome to the thread! The more people who've been there before the better! 20 months is a nice gap!
