Spam wrong cheese or pâté is harder to deal with, particularly if it's a main part of a meal. Starter at the wedding was goats cheese on a bed of tomato and pepper salsa with olive paste. The cheese had been lightly toasted but you couldn't call it cooked. I got a lot more raised eyebrows turning that away, not helped by my pg friend loudly explaining she couldn't eat it because she was pg! I think I took an extra large sip of wine at that point ha ha.

Anyone else's pg progressing at a mind numbingly boring rate? I don't think time even passed this slowly when we were waiting to TTC and that's saying something! I want to fast track to a more interesting bit!

Been fretting a Bit thisam and Last night, seem to have a Bit of a cramping Sensation on One side, Googles ectopic Symptome and the cramps are Not severe i dont have bleeding, diarrhoea Or shoulder pain, Or pain on going to the toilet. So am i right thinking highly unlikely to be ectopic. I was windering if basically that side is Where the embro is growing? What Do u think?

tiddleypompom · 06/07/2012 08:35

Hey orchid. The perils of googling! Afaik cramping is very common in early pregnancy - one sided is also not uncommon. Ectopic pregnancies are very painful. I would get yourself to your gps if I was you, for peace of mind, but what you describe sounds like regular cramps associated with pregnancy. I am not a medic however, so get checked out if you're worried. I hope all is fine :)

Spamfrit · 06/07/2012 08:43

Exactly leftwing! I'd have trouble with goats cheese as people openly know I love it. Dh hates it so couldn't even palm it off that way (or hide it under your knife and fork).
Yes time has stopped still. A twelve week scan seems forever away. I have to laugh that the foetus is the size of a sesame seed right now. My mind runs away with me and I want to start discussing baby names and finger baby grows. But if I do all that now what am I gonna do for the next 8 months (assuming all goes well!)

Spamfrit · 06/07/2012 08:45

I agree orchid, if you are worried about anything go and see the gp. Reassurance is better than worrying. You might even get an early scan!

whiteandyelloworchid · 06/07/2012 08:47

Thanks for replies Bit its Not very painful. And no other symptoms.

tiddleypompom · 06/07/2012 08:52

I think we should have a google ban on this thread. Bet it wouldn't last the day Wink

Still bit sicky here but not actual being sick. Only 6 weeks & I recall few symptoms before 7 weeks last time - fingers crossed I will be as lucky this time. I agree that the scans seems many moons in the future. Sigh. We shall have to occupy ourselves with something meantime. Stroking baby grows maybe :o

jessi0343 · 06/07/2012 09:03

I agree with Tiddley, cramping is very common. I had it last time, and again this time. It almost feels like the womb stretching doesn't it

However I'm experiencing something new now: I just woke up and when wiping found some light brown spotting. Am a bit concerned, but when looking on mumsnet I've heard its common in early pregnancy, and to not be worried unless it turns bright red or accompanies pain. Still very concerning and will try to keep feet up and rest over the weekend. Fx everything is okay!

tiddleypompom · 06/07/2012 09:09

Feet up jessi. Yes I have read that this is also very common, but never welcome - I hope you manage not to worry too much. Fx for you too x

Golly this is hard isn't it? Roll on 13 weeks after happy scans :)

scubastevie · 06/07/2012 09:18

Agree, 12/13 week scan seems ages away...what determines if it's 12 or 13 weeks? Just when they can fit you in?

Been looking at buggies this morning.. wanted the same one for 4 years since I was a nanny and was to peruse all the ones on the market :o

Something odd did happen to me this morn though, was lying down showing dh buggies and sneezed and got a big sharp pain all around my uterus :( should I be worried about this? All ok now...

tiddleypompom · 06/07/2012 09:24

stevie your first scan is anytime from 10-14 weeks depending on how busy they are etc - the only reason I said 13 weeks was to imply the scan would be over by then!

Sneezing pains - oh golly I got those last time a lot. Noticed I had another yesterday too. Nothing to be worried about - all just stretching pains as your uterus is busy at work. It was only the size of a plum before you were pregnant & needs to double many times over in size to accommodate your growing bean :)

tedmundo · 06/07/2012 09:33

Yes yes to those of you saying about who slow this stage is. 4+5 today and STILL ages off any scan, midwife, announcements.

I am definitely in the keeping quiet camp. I actually feel more positive about this pg that the last one, but still want to wait to be in the safe zone before I tell people.

orchid .. As I understand it, ectopic pg will leave you in agony. It is more likely to just be your womb having a good old stretch ready for that lovely baby!

jessi .. Try not to worry, brown blood is old and less of a threat, but the midwives would not mind at all if you phone them! that is what they are for!

pipsicles · 06/07/2012 09:39

Mmmm....pineapple and cheese hedgehog! I think it might have to be done! Thanks for the idea!

Lots of cramping and stretching here too. I actually quite like it - I find it reassuring weirdo! It also give you chance to rub your tummy in that pregnant way Blush my belly is protruding already too. I think it is a subsequent pg thing. By the time I mc in April, I looked about 4mths gone and I was only 10weeks! It made it all the harder of course, but I fully expect the same this time. I'm 5weeks tomorrow and no doubt will be digging those maternity jeans out again next weekend!

whiteandyelloworchid · 06/07/2012 09:46

Thanks for advice, just had a nice bath and it Seems to have completey gone. Hot.my First scan on 23 july at 8_9 weeks due to previous Problems x x

tedmundo · 06/07/2012 10:51

Q. Have you all been to see your GP or just arranged booking in direct with midwife? I just arranged booking in but now think perhaps I should tell GP?

Last time I did it was just a case of "congrats, you have 2 already so you know what you are doing, go to reception and arrange booking in".

just don't want to waste hrs on a phone queuing system to make an appointment that will undoubtably be late running just to be told that again.

I guess the only thing different is I did miscarry last one, but have been told categorically at the EPU that they still don't do early scans specially for people who have previously miscarried.

AuntieJu · 06/07/2012 11:22

Morning everyone,
Orchid and Jessi, Hope you're both ok and make sure you get plenty of rest as others have suggested.

I am on my way to a wedding now so have the fun of trying to avoid alcohol! Harpie, I had forgotten about the goats cheese thing, that is really common to have at weddings. Luckily there will not be that many people there that I know (it's one of DH's school friends) so I'll just pretend to be teetotal and that I don't like goats cheese. Oh hang on, at least 2 people know I LOVE champagne- small sips it is then. Hope the weather perks up, it's grim at the moment.

5+3 today, time is going so slowly ......

AuntieJu · 06/07/2012 11:29

Hi ted,

I've not booked in yet as been away with work and not yet registered with gp - just moved to area. I want to see gp to see if they'll give an early scan after my mc in March, but if you know the EPU don't do that in your area then probably just booking in is OK.

Unless you want reassurance from the gp, or could they do scans elsewhere? When I was mc-ing my scan was in the Gynocology dept in Hosp, so that could be a possibility?

AuntieJu · 06/07/2012 11:32

Just realised my due date of 5th March is the same date as my mc earlier this year - wow that's freaked me out a bit. God FX all goes well this time otherwise I will not enjoy that date when it comes round!

Doraemon · 06/07/2012 11:32

Morning all, it's my day off, should be doing paperwork but have been stuffing party bags for DS2's 5th birthday party on Sunday instead and trying to think what to do with eight little boys for two hours if it's still chucking it down outside....
I haven't bothered with the GP, just asked for booking in with the midwife, but the first appointment available wasn't until the 24th so I'll be about 7 weeks then. To be honest I'd quite like to be left alone as much as possible to try to have a 'normal' pregnancy 2 difficult ones but I suspect that I'll get sent off to the consultant :(
Is anyone else hungry all the time or is it all in my mind and I'm just greedy? It's so long since I was last pregnant that I can't remember whether it's normal to be knackered and eating constantly this early.

HeeHeeHeeBum · 06/07/2012 11:39

Morning ladies. Didn't get to look at the thread for a couple of days then I return to see I've missed pages and page :) I like a nice chatty thread.
Well I came on here to say I was worried about cramping but I have read through and feel very reassured. I haven't called the docs yet as I am a bit nervious. It is a bit weird admitting to myself that I'm pg again after the mc.
I'm another one that needs to come up with a plan to look like I'm drinking. My parents are coming to visit and we usually get through a fair bit of wine. I don't want to tell them yet as they were so heartbroken when I had the mc.
Now, how do I make the next 8 weeks go faster?

KFFOREVER · 06/07/2012 11:45

I had a telephone conversation with GP this morning and he said to book directly with midwife. As I want to be referred to a different hospital that they are linked too, the receptionist said the GP needs to refer me to that hospital.

As for keeping it quiet thats not possible for me. I feel like its written on my forehead :)

I love having stretching pains its quite reassuring. Feels old I haven't vomited which makes me think something is wrong. Spoke to mum she said she had a very good pregnancies but bad births with being in labour for 3 days then c-section with both me and my brother.

jessi0343 · 06/07/2012 12:48

kfforever I agree the stretching pains are reassuring!

The brown spotting for me has stopped, so I am going to try to stay positive, and keep resting throughout the weekend. Thanks everyone for your encouraging words!

This wait is just too long isn't it?? I don't have my booking in with the midwife until 8 weeks (another 3 weeks away), and then the scan at 12 weeks, and that can't come quick enough!!

tedmundo · 06/07/2012 12:54

auntyju my eddy is march 11 and my erpc was on march12 .

TheCountessOlenska · 06/07/2012 13:06

Afternoon all! Hope everyone's ok and all worrying symptoms have settled down!

I can't do the subtle not drinking thing so I ended up telling my best friend, sis etc really early last time - they just weren't buying any excuses for me turning down wine! Blush
