Morning ladies, wonder if I could have some advice? Had a very strong cramp in middle of the night like the worst period pain of your life for twenty mins. No bleeding. Got a v important work meeting today & no-one knows I am preg yet :( should I go to the docs or is this normal? Worried Sad

TheCountessOlenska · 05/07/2012 06:54

Morning!

Fingers crossed for those having worrying symptoms!!

On subject of gender, I don't mind either way but I am expecting another girl for some reason - if I found it was a boy I would be Shock Shock

Who's going to find out gender? I did last time and will this time - I can't wait 9 months to find out!

I am feeling mixed pride and sadness this morning as DD has now gone 24 hours without breastfeeding - she is 26 months and she seems fine about it, a bit of crying at bedtime last night but not as bad as I thought - I totally would have caved in if she had got really distressed. My boobs are just so sore though, and tbh I want a little break before I have to do it again Blush

TheCountessOlenska · 05/07/2012 07:00

Hitchingal - sorry you're feeling worried, I have had some quite bad cramps - worse than my usual period pains (and I remember this from last pregnancy)

If you feel ok now and no bleeding I would think all ok? But obviously ring docs if you're worried

bbface · 05/07/2012 07:07

Hitching... Sounds painful and shocking, but if it has stopped and no bleeding, it would seem you could have your meeting and then give the docs a ring. Or maybe get something lined upbsobyou could go after your meeting. The fact that everything back to normal and no bleeding is v comforting. My cramping was bloody awful, I came out in a sweat. Eased up now.

White orchid, we would love to have you on board. Just come on in when you feel ready. We all have our issues, that I am sure will crop up at some point over the next 8 months.

Countess... Good on your girl!

Have a good day all xxxx

bbface · 05/07/2012 07:33

And popinda.... Hope you managed a good night sleep and that everything ok xx

Hitchingal · 05/07/2012 08:19

Thank you Countess & bb - am at work but have phone appt with nurse at the surgery so will see what they think. Very reassuring to hear this is a normal occurrence, so difficult to know when it is your first!

posypoo · 05/07/2012 08:30

Glad to hear all is fine Eric! Hope you're alright Pops. Hitchin def go to the doctor but as the others have said, I'm sure that if it has subsided now that's a good sign. Fingers crossed for you.

TheCountess, wow that's quite good (?) news (well that's how I see it as mum of another 26 month old! Though I will also be sad when we stop.) My LO is also having less and less milk since turning 2. She has also started turning over and going to sleep on her own (wow!). I am also hoping for a break before another bf rollercoaster. I had recurring mastitis last time and I am not sure I could tandem feed if that happened again.

Em2010 · 05/07/2012 08:44

Morning All, hope youre ok hitchin. It. must have been very scary for you but as others have said cramping is normal. I had horrible cramps when I was pg with ds, they started fading about 7 weeks I think. Hardly any this time which makes me worry! Can't win eh?!

We're hoping to find out the sex this time. Didn't with ds but 'just knew' he was a boy. We're planning on pretending to everyone that we don't know as I want to keep it a surprise. A friend of mine did that and it worked really well. Had a dream yesterday it was a boy so maybe?

I'm in massive admiration for those of you still bf. I wasn't able to bf ds, although I did express for 12 weeks. I was so sad about it at the time. Really hope it goes better this time.

Anyway, hope everyone's having a good morning. Thinking of those of you who are worrying or feeling crap xxx

jessi0343 · 05/07/2012 09:03

Glad to hear all is good eric

and fx to popinda and hitchin that all is okay.

I think we'll be finding out the gender this time around. Last time we didn't, and it was a lovely surprise. But this time it makes more sense to know in advance whether we can keep all the girly/pink stuff, or swap it in for boy stuff!!

Hitchingal · 05/07/2012 09:03

Well have to credit my doc surgery, nurse rang me pretty much straight back, was very kind and reassuring & confirmed it us nothing to worry about. I was worried they would think I was being stupid but in fact she said I could call whenever I needed if I was concerned! Thank-you for all the advice & kind wishes Smile
Now got to get my brain sorted for this meeting - all over the place with no sleep! Will be so much easier when I can tell work!

Em2010 · 05/07/2012 09:12

Oh hitchin that's good. Hope you're feeling a bit more at ease. Good luck for your meeting!

posypoo · 05/07/2012 09:26

Glad to hear it Hitchin!

Em I am full of admiration for you for expressing for so long. A friend did that instead of bf (baby had tongue tie and couldn't latch) and so I have an idea of how hard expressing so often is.

We won't find out again. I would have last time, but DH didn't want to, and it was nice to have a surprise, though I can understand why people would want to (esp with a loft full of girls stuff!)

backwardpossom · 05/07/2012 09:39

Hi all! Got a bfp this morning... Had a miscarriage 2 months ago so am obviously terrified. Hand holding required, please!! Now going to have to try and work out a due date...

posypoo · 05/07/2012 09:44

Congratulations Backward!

Hitchingal · 05/07/2012 09:52

Hello backward, lots of support in here! :-)

tiddleypompom · 05/07/2012 10:03

V quickly as at my folks but wanted to say welcome to stevie & possom! Congratulations guys :o

Virtual hand held possom - so happy for you (I remember you from July thread).

Not going to find out gender. We didn't last time & I will never forget my DH saying 'it's a boy! I've got a son'...

Feeling queasy non stop now. Heaved over my breakfast as DH fed the cats and I smelt rough cat food, bleugh. No sickness last time so this is s different experience.

Thinking of you pops hoping all is well x

tiddleypompom · 05/07/2012 10:05

By the way, orchid you have a place here & can join in whenever you're ready. Issues welcome, we've all got some of our own :)

scubastevie · 05/07/2012 10:17

Thanks Tiddley :)

KFFOREVER · 05/07/2012 10:19

I got a BFP too! I got a faint line on Saturday, stronger on Sunday then went to sexual health clinic to do a test just in case I was seeing things.

Since then I have been super emotional, cramps and oh so tired during the day but can't sleep at night. It doesn't help that I have nightmares. I had one lovely dream where I had a 3D scan didn't want to know the gender but I saw that it was a boy. It felt sooo real but in another dream my mum had bought me girls clothes. I really want to keep the gender as a surprise as this is or first child but DH said he can't wait. I had a few waves of nausea but no vomiting so that is concerning me

Im still shocked and 12 weeks seems so far away. Told our parents and siblings first. Then had guests who had come from abroad on Sunday night but nearly fell asleep and couldn't stop yawning. Had to tell them I was pregnant otherwise they would have thought I was very rude. Went to a cousins house last night and they have 2 cats. Was worried about this as I heard the urine and faeces can be harmful to the baby. In the meantime, mother has already started with giving me lots of attention telling me to eat every thing I fancy but not to touch any part of my body as it may come up on DC as a birth mark. I really don't want to believe that. Mum is full of old wives tales. Does anyone else have any to share?

raise a glass of water to us all having health bambino's at the end of a smooth running pregnancy.

tiddleypompom · 05/07/2012 10:43

Yay KFF! Wow the July thread was super lucky!

Being rude on my phone so gotta go - but super-thrilled for all newbies :o

Popinda · 05/07/2012 11:14

Warm welcome to all the newcomers and congratulations!
Thank you for all your support! Very appreciate it! You are such a lovely bunch of ladies on here! Smile
Been discharged from a&e last night, but had to go back in for more tests this morning. Had a scan and everything is fine! No ectopic pregnancy as they suspected last night! What a relief! Smile Dh got very emotional to see the little blob inside my womb! Smile
Very happy now! Got another scan in two weeks just to confirm the viability of the embryo (or whatever it is called at this stage). So got two extra scans out of this scare! Makes the 12week wait much more shorter. Smile
I would recommend everyone who is worried to contact they doc, as I can't stress enough how reassuring this experiences has been! Seeing that little blob in my womb just made it very real!
Hope everyone ok!

Hitchingal · 05/07/2012 11:24

Ah popinda so glad to hear it, been keeping everything crossed for you! Thanks for updating us!

Em2010 · 05/07/2012 11:30

tiddleypompom · 05/07/2012 11:41
