Morning!!!

Thought I'd start the new thread with Gwen's title now in case I fill the other one with my moaning.

I'll do the stats at a more normal time of day unless anyone else does it first.

OP posts:

Morning all.... wondering how many are left now?!

DH has gone off for his day of being important and interviewing people, so I am feeling very proud of myself for not wrecking his plans by producing his child at an inconvenient time.

Does anyone else find they get more twinges/symptoms towards the end of the day? I seem to have gone to bed every night for the last week thinking "Ooh, heck, this is worse than last night..." with period type pain, or BHs that are more painful than before. I wonder if it's just me being tired at the end of the day and being less willing to put up with niggles, or if it's my body being tired and producing more niggles, or what.............?!

Am going to try and book a leg wax today on the basis that it should last for a good month and I'll definitely have a baby by then! Normally do them myself but really can't contort myself into those postures now. It might be my last "treat" for a while...! (What a world we live in when a treat is painful and, at this stage of pg, makes your legs swell up!)

Am then going to take a leaf out of coops' book and make caramel shortbread, hoping to tempt baby out with goodies. Particularly faffy recipe, would be really inconvenient to go into labour halfway through - got to be a good one to choose, yes?

Also intend a trip to Waitrose to do the "weekly shop" (such a snob, my cousin's waters broke in the supermarket so my family has form for such things, and I would rather mine went in wr than tesco because the staff there are so much friendlier.... Blush) Also secretly hoping that doing a shop for the whole week will mean we waste things because we aren't here to use them for a little while/are in no fit state to cook them......

Then Wimbledon. All afternoon. Vicariously through the BBC, obviously.

mini I wonder how you are this morning?

Waves at emblosion and both mammas! Nice to "see" you pink!

callmemamma · 25/06/2012 09:58

Good morning!
Oh gwennie unfortunately not a twinge here no matter what time of the day it is...,no painful BH's(but I didn't have them with dd at all, either)
I am officially overdue today and I'm starting to be obsessed with "looking" for all the symptoms! But there isn't anyConfused
No big plans for today.I'm gonna take dd for a walk with her bike or scooter as the weather surprisingly really nice here.
I think there are 5 of us left?
Have a nice day everyoneSmile

Coops79 · 25/06/2012 10:13

Morning All!

Gwenniebee - I'm still here! Completely agree about the BHs getting progressively stronger through the day. I mentioned this to DH last night funnily enough. It's so annoying to wake up the next day and feel like I'm back to square one.

Leg wax and complicated cookery sound like excellent ideas. I have made lots of jokes about going up to London and hanging around Harvey Nicks as apparently if your waters break in their store they send you a nice hamper. I realise this is probably an urban myth but frankly at this point I don't care.

My attempts at getting things going this morning include having cleaned the kitchen floor which I thought would guarantee a breaking of waters the second I finished and pogoing to We Are Your Friends which certainly brought on BHs but nothing more. On cup number two of RLT. I really hate this stuff.

Anyway, I'm having an hour off all the exertions and rewatching some Wire on the basis that sweary crime drama is not going to be on the menu for some years. Later I intend to put on the old Ting Tings album and jump up and down a lot - if he doesn't like it, he knows what he can do.

Have a lovely and productively painful day everyone!
:)

Miniangel · 25/06/2012 11:03

Hi everyone

Am still here too. Planning to get a haircut and then have coffee with my nct friends to see thier Newborns. Hoping the baby would want to come out and play with her friends.

Gwennie I also feel symptoms at the end of the day, they are period pains bust disappear by morning. Leg wax and cooking sounds great.

Baby out vibes to coops and callmemamma.

crackersncheese · 25/06/2012 11:50

Hi everyone

Still here. After a week of doing everything I can think of to get the baby out I give up. PJS and duvet on the sofa, a pack of biscuits and the tennis on the tv. Induction booked for Friday so if he wants to stay put I may as well sleep for the next 4 days.

Gwennie I feel the same about symptoms. 4 night of no sleep last week, period type cramping and painful brackston hicks. Feel like I'm inventing it during the day.

Good luck for tomorrow mini. Hope everyone else baby eviction plans are successful xxx

mammadothebump · 25/06/2012 17:30

I am in the same club as crackers, lying on the couch looking at the sunshine! I have devoured the chilli peppers, OD'd on pineapple, been walking up the stairs sideways and nada. So now I'm doing nothing and waiting! SPD has really ramped up over the last couple of days so it does limit what I can actually do anyway!

Lingered around John Lewis on Saturday hoping for some waters action, you never know your luck!

Good luck all! x

gwenniebee · 25/06/2012 20:14

Well the caramel slice has been successfully and completely made, not a twinge to cause me to hesitate :( On the plus side, I have a tin full of beautiful homemade caramel slice and obviously I had to stuff my face in and lick scrape out the caramel pan afterwards :)

Also cleaned bathroom, went to supermarket, did laundry etc etc and collapsed exhausted on the sofa at about 4!

DH got home from work and we went on a longish walk - actually, we nearly had to abort mission only a few hundred yards as I had such terrible pain in my bladder Confused but once we'd turned around it dissipated a bit so we carried on on the other side of the bridge and ended up going for three miles or so. Am no collapsed exhausted again while my supper is lovingly prepared for me!

Hope everyone else has had good days......?

DairyNips · 25/06/2012 21:02

Hey ladiesSmile Just popping in to day I have 2 boxes of raspberry leaf tea and an almost full bottle of Clary Sage if anyone wants them? Would be willing to post them together or separately to any takersSmile

ffnorm · 25/06/2012 21:55

Mini my due date buddySmile good luck for tomorrow - hope it all goes smoothly!!!

gwenniebee · 25/06/2012 22:10

Dairy that's really kind :) I am hoping to get some clary sage tomorrow and evict this thing before the next post.........!!

Am fuming... blxxdy MIL has just telephoned at nearly 10.10pm. I just think this is unreasonably late, especially as she always talks for the best part of an hour, and yet she never, ever phones any earlier. Tomorrow's job: work out how to put phone to go straight to answerphone for when the baby arrives. Because, let's face it, any time the baby is asleep is going to be infuriating for her to phone........

emblosion · 25/06/2012 22:11

I'm still here! Am waving at you all, nothing really happening here. Went to the bank and had a waddle round the shops in the hope that it would start things off but no joy. Only effect was to make me fall asleep as soon as I got home.

gwennie Caramel slice sounds yummo!

mini good luck for tomorrow!

ceeej · 25/06/2012 23:21

mini best of luck for tomorrow, looking forward to news and pics x

mammadothebump · 26/06/2012 00:00

Good luck for tomorrow mini.

gwennie I am in awe at your activity and Envy of your caramel slice making! I have been demanding cake from dh for many days now.

Feel like I've been shoddy at eating lately which probably explains my streaming cold. How am I going to breathe in the golden light 'down to where my baby lies' if I can't blooming breathe through my nose!

Positive labour vibes to all.

gwenniebee · 26/06/2012 08:49

Good luck mini :)

Hehe, mama, when I first started using the hypnowoman (as she is known in the Beehive) I had caught a stinking cold at school which lasted for about six weeks, so I've entirely got into the habit of breathing the golden light both in and out through my mouth....

Another night of horrid contractions, increasingly painful and this time sporting some marvellous backache/period pain too. And this morning.... just feel like I've been hit by a bus but all calm aside from groin muscles feeling pulled. Which could just be a result of yesterday's walk. Angry

On the "up side" - heartburn was marginally better last night. Didn't have to "top up" on gaviscon in the middle of the night.... maybe this means baby has burrowed right down ready to go? [very extremely and probably stupidly hopeful face]

coops where are you....?! Are you ingratiating yourself with your MIL by producing her grandchild?!

Coops79 · 26/06/2012 08:52

Morning All -

mini I've clearly missed something - are you being induced today? Hope all goes well whatever is happening.

Gwennie the caramel stuff sounds fabulous. I may have to do some more baking now. Glad I'm not the only one having MIL issues - I just keep reminding myself that it's her first grandchild and she's VERY excited. Would suggest you keep the phone off the hook for the foreseeable future.

Big sis popped by with her youngest yesterday to give me an excellent post-pregnancy "Keep Calm and Buy Shoes" T-shirt. Also had a bit of an insight as to what it's going to be like raising a boy when he announced that his "willy was inside out"! Thankfully he meant it was sticking out the side of his pants which I imagine is marginally less painful.

I'm now 40 + 6 and have to admit it's properly getting me down now. Got all a bit excited yesterday evening as I had proper period type pains along side BHs which appeared to be lower down than usual. I'm still uncomfortable today but it doesn't feel like anything is happening. DH is clearly bored of the running commentary - must be even more frustrating for him since he just has to rely on what I tell him. I was really convinced last night that we were making progress and I feel I've rather let the side down by sending him off to work as usual this morning!

Most annoyingly I've got the crap midwife tomorrow who will inevitably want to give me a sweep (really really don't want one). I was really hoping to have got him out by then in order to avoid her.

I've now had 2 weeks of my maternity leave - feels rather wasted without a small person to look after.

Hey ho - will stop feeling sorry for myself and go and have a shower.
Have a lovely day everyone.
xxx

Coops79 · 26/06/2012 09:32

Oops, cross-post with Gwennie - sorry (but also slightly jealous) to hear about your painful night. Sounds hopeful though. :)

DairyNips · 26/06/2012 09:36

C'mon, someone must want my RLT and clary sage!Grin

Coops79 · 26/06/2012 09:37

Hey Dairy - I'll take them off your hands if you don't mind! I'll PM you. Thanks!
:)

gwenniebee · 26/06/2012 09:40

Ooh, there you are coops. I am sorry, in the nicest possible way, that you are still here!

Dairy, if I ask you to send it to me, will it guarantee that I have a baby by the time it arrives, thereby rendering it surplus to requirements?!

By the same token, today I am going to make shortbread to take to see my NCT friends and all their babies tomorrrow, in the hope that if I put some effort in rather than just nipping to tesco to buy something to take, my own baby will arrive and mean the shortbread is not taken to its intended recipients....

DairyNips · 26/06/2012 10:15

Great, will get them sent to coops asspSmile

DairyNips · 26/06/2012 10:15

Gwennie- sending you speedy labour vibesGrin

Coops79 · 26/06/2012 10:36

Gwennie if the very fact of DairyNips putting these in the post sends me into labour I shall immediately forward them to you! :)

callmemamma · 26/06/2012 10:55

Good morning everyone!

Probably nothing to be excited about but I was having BH's and period type pains yesterday afternoon and throughout the night and still having them now! They are quite painful and quite frequent.
Now I wrote that I'm most likely gonna jinx myself and they'll stop...
I also have sweep appointment arranged for Friday which I want to avoid at all cost!No idea who will be doing this as going to hospital rather than to see my usual mw at the surgery.

Wishing you all a nice day Smile

DairyNips · 26/06/2012 11:26

Fingers crossed callme

emblosion · 26/06/2012 11:34

lol and then gwennie if you go into labour when the rlt/clary sage arrives you can forward them to me!

Morning all! Had rotten nights sleep last night, was up a million times to wee and, worst of all, feel like I am getting a cold. Why now of all times?

callmemamma and coops I feel your pain -am booked in for a sweep on thurs. I don't know if I want it or not. Am definitely not looking fw to someone rummaging about in there BUT in two minds about whether to go ahead and get it done in case it starts things off....

Have got mild crampy pains this morning, but no Braxton Hicks to speak of, so is not as exciting as gwennies and callme's

Might do a bit more baking today, am inspired by the caramel slices! I'll let you know if anything comes if the cramps!
