Morning!!!

Thought I'd start the new thread with Gwen's title now in case I fill the other one with my moaning.

I'll do the stats at a more normal time of day unless anyone else does it first.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Miniangel · 26/06/2012 13:06

Hi everyone
Thanks for the warm wishes. I desperately need them.
Got to the hospital at 8.00 and went through the motions. They examined and put the pessary in At 12. My cervix was already 2 cm dilated so if the pessary takes effect soon then I will be in labour else they will try another pessary in 24 hours.Hope it happens soon.

ffnorm · 26/06/2012 13:38

That's positive Mini that you are already 2cm,so hopefully it won't take too long Smile and you'll soon have your Minimini in your arms!

crackersncheese · 26/06/2012 14:02

Good luck mini

Still no sign of baby. Another sweep this afternoon so we'l see what the midwife has to say.

Hope gwennie and callme are getting somewhere

gwenniebee · 26/06/2012 14:43

Hope it continues to go well mini :)

Nothing happening here. Except I had a little jog up the garden to rescue my laundry from the line when it starting peeing down. Maybe that'll help Hmm

Going for my leg wax at 4.30, maybe when peering out of my wotsit doesn't look like going on a bear hunt, it'll come out Wink

What news from the mw, crackers?

emblosion · 26/06/2012 17:03

Today have been for a walk along the sea front and to Tesco in the hope that baby will be jostled into action: no sign so far!

crackers hope midwife visit went ok.

gwennie you are v brave going for a wax! It's been strictly diy for me in that area.

Solidarity to all!

Coops79 · 26/06/2012 18:56

I have had two texts and three e-mails from people today demanding to know where my baby is. Am starting to feel like a fraud. Have just been for a walk around the park in the hope that might do something. Nothing as yet. However have agreed to be in a pub quiz team tomorrow night which is always good fun so surely that should do it?

Crackers hope the sweep was ok (should I give in and just say yes to this?).
Mini hope all is going well.
Gwennie and Emblosion - hiya!

See you all in the morning no doubt.
:)

gwenniebee · 26/06/2012 22:04

Oh ho ho..... lovely BHs and one very painful contraction earlier which of course made me think "woo hoo!".... got up to make supper and nothing since :( Although kind of dreading going to bed as this seems to be the invitation to the back ache/painful contractions etc to come and party. Feel so sorry for you guys who are overdue - I'm already very much "over" being pregnant and I'm not 40 weeks for another few days.....!

Sleep well all :)

Miniangel · 27/06/2012 07:39

Thanks for the good wishes. Hope you all slept well.

I am still not in labour, got a few twinges yesterday but no solid contractions. I am hoping they have space in labour ward and they break my waters and put me on the drip to get things started.

One by one all ladies on my ward have been taken to labour ward and am left on my own, trying not to feel sorry for myself.

A big wave to fellow overdue ladies.hope our Los want to see the world soon.

Coops79 · 27/06/2012 08:10

Morning All -

Mini I am picturing you like Rachel in Friends as women are wheeled in and out having babies while you're drumming your fingers. Hope it's not really like that! With a bit of luck by tomorrow you'll be posting happy news of your LO.

Gwennie I had that a couple of nights ago when I was CONVINCED that stuff was starting to happen. I have never been so disappointed to wake up with out pain. Hopefully yours will prove to be more fruitful.

I am 41 weeks today and now officially count as Scarily Pregnant. Chap at the checkout at the supermarket yesterday saw me and took all his shopping off the conveyor belt to let me go in front of him; I said thank you but I could see the fear in his eyes. It is providing me with some entertainment with door-to-door salesmen though. I managed to get rid of one of them without a single word, just a scowl and a point at my bump. These are the things that are getting me through the day.

Have to go see the mental midwife this afternoon. I think I'm going to give in and say yes to a sweep despite the fact that I really can't think of anything worse (actually yes I can; my LO turning into an actual teenager in my womb). Do they book a time to do these or do they just do it there and then (and do they buy you dinner afterwards?)

Does anyone else remember when they first got pregnant and they made all these wonderful plans for the birth? Has ANYONE actually had the birth that they wanted? I don't think there's a single thing left that I wanted for my birthing experience that's actually going to happen. I know ultimately all that matter is that my LO and I come out of it all ok but this creeping sense of powerlessness is starting to get me down.

Hope everyone has a lovely day.
xx

gwenniebee · 27/06/2012 09:00

Oh mini how frustrating for you :( I hope you have a good book... not that that's going to help take your mind off anything at this stage!

coops that is the one advantage of being this pregnant - scaring people. Hehe. I said to my DH the other day that when we are out walking now (which we are doing quite a lot!) I feel like very well endowed ladies must feel when blokes approach them staring at their chests and eventually raise their eyes to the general head area. Except with me it's the bump they stare at and the raising of the eyes combines with me seeing the fear as they scuttle past. We went out for a "final" meal last week and the waitress asked me when I was due. "Next week" - to which she just responded with a squeak. So much that I laughed, "It's alright, I think I'll have some warning before it arrives." Hope mental mw is ok... and I think some people DO get the types of birth they wanted, even if they have had to have it "kick started". There's still hope!

I have some evaporated milk left over so am going to make yet more goodies to take to see my NCT friends and hope we can coax the baby out by persuading it it wants to play! (Although also am slightly nervous something stupid will happen like my waters will break dramatically all over someone's newborn..... clearly the very fact it's crossed my mind means it won't happen!)

Just had to answer door to postman in dressing gown. Oh the embarrassment. Will have to get used to that I suspect. Lesson? Get dressed before coming on mn.

Hello to everyone else! Have nice days! Have babies!

emblosion · 27/06/2012 12:11

Hi all, am still here. gwennie I've just answered the door to the postman in my dressing gown (am v slovenly I know) but it was worth it as I got a lovely package of knitted baby things from my gran and aunty :)

I am enjoying giving people the fear too - being this pregnant has to have some perks!

coops really hope it goes ok with the midwife, don't feel pressured into a sweep if its not what you want! I think they do it 'there and then' if they can, with nary a chance of dinner and a movie first! I know what you mean about feeling out of control, I think that's why its driving me mad that people are constantly asking if I'm in labour- I'm not holding him in on purpose!

mini really hope things have started to happen now, must be so frustrating! (it made me think of Rachel from friends too, lol). Sending 'labour' vibes your way!

Might do a bit of baking this afternoon as well, gotta pass the time somehow! X

smallwonder · 27/06/2012 14:27

Hello fellow Juners!!!
Thought I'd pop in and say hello and see how you are all getting on :)
Thinking of you all -- looking forward to all the updates.

Miniangel · 27/06/2012 15:23

Hey everyone

Feel absolutely down and out. Mw examined earlier after 24 hrs of the first dose of pessary and seems to think that am only 1cm dialated and that yesterday's mw got it wrong. They can't break my waters yet. Am going backwards, I feel. Have given me another pessary and if things don't get going in the next 24 hrs they will send me home for a day of rest and try again on Fri. The only other option is c-section.

I am absolutely loosing the will the live.

coops did u go for the sweep in the end? I can totally understand how u feel.

A big wave to gwenniebee and emblosion.

gwenniebee · 27/06/2012 17:13

Oh mini I'm gutted for you :( Can't think of anything to say that could possibly make you feel better, except that I am thinking of you and really hoping it gets going soon.

coops how was the nutter midwife?

Have just spent the afternoon with four of our eight NCT babies and am really hoping this one feels like it's missing out and wants to come out to play........ sadly nothing but BHs all afternoon.

emblosion I like the sound of knitted goodies :) My parcel is, apparently, my Christmas present (last year's, not this year's!) from my best friend! I have texted her to say thank you but I will not open it til DH gets home as addressed to him too.... awww....

small nice to see you :)

Coops79 · 27/06/2012 18:37

Mini I've forgotten; when was your actual due date? I'm so sorry you're so (completely understandably) frustrated. The only thing I can say is s/he will have to come out eventually even if you're probably envisaging carrying him/her into their teenage years! You never know, the pessary might just do the trick - I shall send out all my best labour-inducing vibes to you. xx

Smallwonder Hello! Hope you're well.

Emblosion & Gwennie Nutter Midwife was a little better this time. I think she's probably basically ok, just one of life's arse-coverers. Sweep was a total failure as my cervix was completely out of reach; I think this basically means he's just not ready to come out. I've got another one on Saturday so maybe things will have progressed by then.

The lovely DairyNips has forwarded on the RLT and Clary Sage. Not wanting to sound like a total dunce but what exactly does one do with essential oils? A couple of drops in the bath? If so, on it's own or mixed with something? It's all a bit beyond me.

Anyway, off to make the tea then off to the pub quiz where I hope to win using nothing but the power of my hormones.

See you all tomorrow.
xx

DairyNips · 27/06/2012 19:11

coops you're supposed to add the
Clary sage to a carrier oil to dilute it then add to the bath. I just used 10ml of olive oil with 10 drops of clary sage. I also rubbed it in to my bump by putting a little olive oil in my hand and adding 2 or 3 drops of the clary sage to it then just running it inSmile

DairyNips · 27/06/2012 19:11

rubbing

Coops79 · 27/06/2012 19:20

Thank you Dairynips - much obliged!
:)

CathFin · 27/06/2012 21:01

Just popping in to say I'm thinking of you ladies who are still waiting, hopefully not long now. I was 10 days over with my DD and we did end up trying to eat out in those last few days and have a moderately nice time before the baby came.... obviously now I have 3 DC we never go out ;-)
Mini - hope something happens for you soon.

Miniangel · 27/06/2012 23:15

coops I was due on 15th June. Thanks for the baby out vibes, seem to be doing something.

Thanks everyone for your wishes. My waters have broken and painful contractions every 5 mins. Looks like am finally getting started. Hopefully will not be days now.

Baby out vibes to coops, gwenniebee and embolsion.

Thanks cathfin.

emblosion · 28/06/2012 00:33

Fingers crossed for you mini it sounds like its been a bit of an ordeal so far but hopefully now there's not long to go!

ceeej · 28/06/2012 03:51

Ooh just checked in on you overdue ladies during a feed, excited to hear you are finally making progress mini, hope it all goes nice and smoothly. Big wave to everyone else, hope to see you over on the post-natal thread soon.
