Morning!!!

Thought I'd start the new thread with Gwen's title now in case I fill the other one with my moaning.

I'll do the stats at a more normal time of day unless anyone else does it first.

Evening all. On bb so can barely read this so keeping it short! Baby Boy Fireflies arrived 10pm 21 June, significantly on the longest day. Traumatic emcs, but all's well that ends well. He is gorgeous! Hugs to all and more of an update when back home in day or so.

Fireflies xx

ffnorm · 24/06/2012 01:27

Congrats ff, sorry to hear it was traumatic!!

DairyNips · 24/06/2012 02:51

Massive congratulations ff! Well done on getting through what sounds like a traumatic time. Can't wait to see pics/ hear nameSmile

McKayz · 24/06/2012 04:30

Congrats Fireflies! Hope your recovery is going ok!

Coops79 · 24/06/2012 09:14

Morning All - congratulations Fireflies. Nice to see another boy turning up; sorry to hear it was traumatic but glad to hear you're both ok.

Had the compulsory hot curry last night; no effect. DH is getting more annoyed than me I think. Patience is definitely wearing thin and I'm very very bored of backache. Am planning to bake a cake today; maybe the smell will tempt him out?

Hope everyone has a lovely day.
xx

ffnorm · 24/06/2012 09:15

Was just wondering - anyone know what's happened to chateauMargot and Shellywellybaby??

emblosion · 24/06/2012 10:51

Huge congrats fireflies! Hope you are recovering well x x

gwenniebee · 24/06/2012 11:29

Congratulatons fireflies :)

ffnorm good question.....

coops curry fail is seriously not on :( I like your plan of tempting him out with a cake - they say the way to a man's heart, and all that...!

Our walk yesterday merely served, as predicted, to wear me out a bit and make me feel like something was bouncing on my bladder. Which, in fairness, it probably was. Even manhandling the wormery around didn't entice it out. Oh well, you might as well stay there now until Tuesday, you little blighter. At least your daddy'll be happy he gets to be important at work tomorrow.

Tis pissing it down here. Grumble. I'm going to watch F1 to make me feel sporty.....

McKayz · 24/06/2012 11:32

FFnorm Shelly is on this thread not sure about Chateau.

OP posts:
Kveta · 24/06/2012 11:33

chateau was on fb recently (18th june to be precise).

good luck overdue folk, I can still recall the hellishness of being overdue, so you have my sympathies. it does all become irrelevant when you're cuddling your baby, but until then, every minute lasts an hour. hope babies arrive soon!

Coops79 · 24/06/2012 16:56

Fluffy - I'm hoping that your silence today indicates news? If not, hope you're feeling better than yesterday and have enjoyed a bit of sunshine.

Emblosion Happy due date to you! Your DH is clearly braver than mine; there has been little in the way of knooky in the Coops household due to my DH's complete paranoia that he'll do some damage and my complete inability to stay awake even if I had the urge!

I have just had a phonecall from my MIL (who NEVER phones, certainly never to speak to DH - she generally e-mails me). She wanted to know where her Grandchild was. Apparently it's getting embarrassing as people keep asking her and she feels like a bit of a fraud. Also, they're going away at the beginning of July so would like to meet him before then. I did try to explain that there really is nothing I can do but I do get the feeling that she thinks I'm just not trying hard enough.. I am now necking RLT and about to go research reflexology.

FluffyMitchell · 24/06/2012 18:25

Congrats fireflies.
I am delighted to have news too, our beautiful daughter arrived at 4.45am this morning after intense and very quick labour - felt first contraction around 12.30am and it was all systems go from there. Had G and A and pethidine which helped numb things but still felt the important bits. Had lots of stitches afterwards but am feeling pretty good.
Much better labour than with DS and have been home since an hour ago.

Good luck to all those still waiting and hope the new arrivals are bringing joy and happiness xxx

Coops79 · 24/06/2012 18:52

Fluffy Hurray! Lots of congratulations (and a little bit of jealousy) from the Coops household. :)

gwenniebee · 24/06/2012 18:55

Fluffy I am so pleased for you :) All the waiting over!

Coops.... seriously..... did you actually manage to keep your cool with your MIL?! That's outrageous!

The text messages have started here.... "Just wondering how it's all going?" It's kind of people really and I won't get cross just yet!

Am a bit headachy and and ugh today but nothing really silly. Have sat on the sofa since getting back from church and watched other people doing sport! I announced to DH that until the baby arrives this is basically what I intend to do - hoorah for Wimbledon and the Tour de France etc.

mammadothebump · 24/06/2012 19:26

Congratulations fireflies, surf, and fluffy. Hope you're all doing ok. coops I bet that phone call just made you feel wonderful, nothing like embarrassing the m-i-l. Was going to throttle mine earlier. Along with my niece, b-i-l and aunt-i-l. Was a very long lunch!

Haven't been posting much here but been reading. Have felt a bit of a failure lately for not getting this baby out! With perspective I realise I am wishing pain and sleepless nights upon me but really want to meet her now! Have been consuming jalapenos like they're goin out of fashion and bouncing away though. Haven't tried the rlt as can't stand it + didn't drink much with dd but now contemplating it.

I strongly suspect I will be the last to pop but in the meantime I shall devour pineapple and sniff my clary sage!

Good luck overduers! X Esp for mini for tues and any others with inductions booked.

mammadothebump · 24/06/2012 19:29

Ooh and gwennie, ditto on tour de france. I think I actually accepted today that its perfectly fine to sit on the couch or lie in bed ALL day! That the whole entire point of right now is sit guilt free watching anything we want and eat cake, and biscuits, or anything else within reach. And its not wrong! Fabulous.

callmemamma · 24/06/2012 19:45

Hi!
I never posted much but have been following this thread right from the start.Just wanted to let fellow stragglers to know I'm stil here and still very much pregnantGrin
Due date today and not even a twinge so far... FluffyM's and some others stories give me hope that it all may progress quicker than I expect!
If nothing happens before than sweep on Friday which I'd like to avoid as I hate the idea..

Loving all the birth stories!Congratulations and Thanks to everyone with babies!Hope to join you soon...

gwenniebee · 24/06/2012 19:46

Ooh mamma I had momentarily forgotten about clary sage.... may go and invest in some of that tomorrow as, from tomorrow, I am permitted by DH to produce the offshoot. I never want to taste another cup of rlt. Quite liked it at first, but, really, - I don't even usually drink three cups a day of anything!

Even my dad said when I spoke to him just now that "he thought that was just about ok" when I told him about my proposal to sit on the sofa until the baby does the decent thing. Hurrah.

Ok - my next major energetic expenditure - football. I don't even really like football but I have watched all these matches with something akin to focus. It must be the hormones.

emblosion · 24/06/2012 20:36

fluffy hooray, congratulations to you!

coops good grief at your mil! I don't think I would have been able to come up with a civil response. I thought my fil was bad enough ringing twice a day to see if 'anything was happening' I feel like saying yes, actually I've had the baby but we decided not to tell you (am aware I am a hugely unreasonable, grumpy wretch!)

Still no action here, baked a cake today out of boredom! Yesterday I actually felt like it might all be starting - period type pains etc but nothing came of it, bah.

gwennie I think your tv watching plan sounds perfectly acceptable! I have become addicted to homes under the hammer and the cookery programmes on the sky food channels!

Hello to callme and mamma :)

Miniangel · 24/06/2012 20:43

Congratulations Fluffy. Welcome to the world baby fluffy. I am Envy

Coops I am outraged on your behalf, hope your mil sees some sense and stops bothering you. All the very best to you.

Mammatothebump thanks for the wishes. I really need them.

I decided to tempt fate and went for another bikini wax, to the cinema and dinner at a restaurant (ate hot curry) yesterday, but nothing happened. Went to Richmond park to see the deers today and walked a lot but of ofcourse nothing happened again. Now looking fwd to tues.

A big wave to all other overdue ladies.

Miniangel · 24/06/2012 20:44

Congrats Fireflies

emblosion · 24/06/2012 21:25

mini I tried curry yesterday as well, and a bit of a walk. Today I have been prodding bump saying 'time to come out' to no avail.

Wishing you good luck for Tuesday if nothing happens before then x

ffnorm · 24/06/2012 22:06

Congrats Fluffy

PinkPanther27 · 24/06/2012 22:57
