Hi everyone, as we were close to the 1000 message limit i thought i should start a new thread so we could link this one (and we don't all end up wandering in cyberspace for a few days again Grin)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CODwidow · 18/06/2012 14:57

Wish I was that creative

knottyhair · 18/06/2012 15:01

And me CODwidow, I can barely manage sewing on DS's cub badges, and they look shocking Blush.

PurplePidjin · 18/06/2012 15:16

Jo, I can't knit! Well, barely. I crochet, and want to get the blanket and at least one cardi done asap - i have MN squares arriving imminently to make into a blanket for MrsY, then I'm possibly doing MatildaWormwood's. I also want to do crib sheets once my folks get mine out of the loft, and i might tackle the cot bedding if i get time can get my belly up to the table to sew by then

Equimum, any photos yet?

MyDaydream · 18/06/2012 15:34

Just come out of my scan baby was fairly still, did movements similar to me when ive just been woken up. Date moved to the 20th which puts me before my birthday, but not convinced its right tbh.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/06/2012 15:44

What was your date before daydream?

MyDaydream · 18/06/2012 16:19

27th.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/06/2012 16:26

Hmm well maybe it will change again after your 20 week scan. Are you ok you sound a little disappointed? Tell me to bugger off if you like!

CODwidow · 18/06/2012 16:43

Hey at least it moved in your favour Smile

Clarella · 18/06/2012 16:59

Congratulations on scans :)
And belated happy birthday to all the birthday gals!

Went to the mat assessment unit silly o'clock this am for a blood test and was surprised to be seated next to a heavily pregnant lady hooked up to the loudest baby heart monitor ever - the whole unit echoed with the booming, possibly the point?! It felt a bit odd and a bit too obem!

Was very chuffed that felt good enough to go for a swim afterwards and was attempting to stretch back out in the shower as several elderly women piled in and commented 'ooo are you doing that to keep ye'sel trim pet' - I actually felt the need to say 'nope I'm pregnant and my back n hips are bloomin stiff' and they all peered and stared at my belly and concluded I wasn't or very early, couldn't believe I was over 4 months and I've been really thinking I've got a serious bump now! Hoping there's a bump by womad cos I want to paint it.

Impressed by the crocheting and knitting - I used to crochet and even knit but have already been given some homemade blankets and suspect more in the way! I do have a serious urge to make art and also Xmas cards for some reason!

Had a lovely chat with a Capoeira friend whos son is now 18 months and like her philosophy of getting a second hand pram for 30 quid initially with a view to seeing what they might want to get, but then got so into the sling thing they didn't get anything else till after 9 months. Quite like that idea :)

Eeee a long post! Hope you are all well and beginning to feel less sick - definately much better these, last 2 days (17 wks tho!)

soandsosmum · 18/06/2012 17:12

just marking my place - cant believe how fast this thread moves!

I was congratulated today on how small my bump is - big grin
I'm 16 weeks, but still just look a bit fat, which tbh i did last time and was STILL enormous by 36 weeks, ho hum

brooke89 · 18/06/2012 17:13

Good luck for scans this week ladies Smile

Will have to catch up on thread later - 160 posts already!

livismum · 18/06/2012 17:26

Clarella I had the urban detour (big 3 wheeler with car seat u could attach) for DD1 which was good for walking and also quick trips to town where I could attach car seat, for DD2 only really used the car seat as bought a hugabub sling which she loved! It left me hands free for DD1 or dog! Also put her in it at home for hanging out washing etc, I was lucky she was quite light, do wonder if it's why she is extra cuddly still now?!
Bought a lightweight stroller for her now (3 wheeler died of neglect) but still have car seat and sling so will probably see if I can manage b4 buying for this DC, or what him/her prefers!

gilsbubbles · 18/06/2012 17:43

No appointment through yet for my 16 week check with midwife and getting anxious cause I'm off on hols soon.

Called the antenatal appointments at the hospital who I'm sure sent out the appointment careers for my booking and scan. Just been told that they don't book 16wk and to try either my GP or midwife.

It's my first pregnancy and all this uncertainty isn't sitting too well with my natural control freak tendencies. Did other people have to phone round to arrange appointments themselves??? I'd thought that it'd all be scheduled for me. I'm in northern ireland in case that makes a difference.

CODwidow · 18/06/2012 17:45

I just make mw appts at the gp surgery usually need to make them 3/4 weeks in advance though as she's always booked up

Clarella · 18/06/2012 18:01

My mw wrote next appts all down in the booklet pack thing at the booking appt and 12 wk scan came through the post, they wrote down the date of the 20 wk on in there then plus other blood tests and consultant appts for other stuff. Id go through your doctor and mw for the 16 wk one (mines tomorrow at 17 wks, don't think too much of an issue)

MyDaydream · 18/06/2012 18:04

Not disappointed at all, more disappointed I was dragged out of next before I could buy half the stuff I wanted!
Here I have to arrange everything. Midwife arranged this scan but apart from that I'm on my own. I have a check sheet in my notes for when I need to be seen.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/06/2012 18:29

Ah good! Btw next babygrows have the shortest legs ever, dd never fitted them and she wasn't particularly big

CODwidow · 18/06/2012 19:16

Totally agree with next babygros, ds legs never fit

SpottyTeacakes · 18/06/2012 19:24

I've just realised my 'scan appointment' is literally an appointment card that says 'combined test'. That is the scan isn't it? I didn't get any other info with it Confused

HoneyMum21 · 18/06/2012 19:31

i got a letter with the date and 'combined test' Spotty. That'll be it!

SpottyTeacakes · 18/06/2012 19:31

Ah good, had a bit of a panic then that I was going to get there and just have a blood test!

cherrypiew3 · 18/06/2012 21:35

Evening everyone,

Strawberry thank you for the link to cruse website.

I have had a really rubbish weekend have spent it on the sofa and in bed still suffering a lot with the sickness and getting horrible headaches.
What is everybody finding to drink could do with some ideas I am living on water don't really drink juice or pop and have gone completely off tea and coffee.

Hope everyone is feeling ok and good luck to anyone having scans this week.

knottyhair · 18/06/2012 22:09

Cherry, I don't usually drink fizzy drinks either but I've found cloudy lemonade really refreshing, also herbal teas especially peppermint, and ice cold skimmed milk. Not sure if this helps Smile.

ivanapoo · 18/06/2012 22:11

I'm drinking fruit juice heavily diluted with sparkling water. Really refreshing.

(Also my new "cocktail" of pink grapefruit juice and ginger beer, which tastes so strong I can pretend it's got booze in)

CODwidow · 18/06/2012 22:12

cherry I'm only drinking water and the odd peppermint tea. Just don't want anything else or it makes me feel sick. Also the headaches are a killer don't remember having headaches like this with any of my other dcs.
