Just lying on the sofa feeling baby moveGrinGrin

SpottyTeacakes · 28/06/2012 17:31

Yay to all the movements Grin

Going back to food thing in Australia at the moment I quite often have a bacon and feta salad in the fridge for a few days that I keep dipping back into Confused

I've got my combined test results it says background risk 1:1350 adjusted risk 1:11895 I suppose that's ok?

MyDaydream · 28/06/2012 18:00

My dr told me to take paracetamol daily and if it gets worse to go back. Not really any help, or worth taking the day off work for.
Went to look at prams today and ended putting one away on the mother care baby plan. We've got the silvercross surf, took a while to convince DP since it was over the price I wanted to spend but I'll just ask for money towards it if any family offer to help.

Clarella · 28/06/2012 18:02

It's not so much fun now. Whole of Newcastle gridlocked, lots of flooding and my DH is wading home across the town moor. Hope the cows don't get killed but hope the lightening chooses them than him. Phone went dead half way through a call and I literally freaked! Or it goes on one of the several big wheels belonging to the hoppings fair, which probably will be sinking as I type. Wondering whether to start walking/ wading to meet him with some cocoa...

SpottyTeacakes · 28/06/2012 18:03

Well the last thing you want is pram envy so it's important that you get one you like Wink

SpottyTeacakes · 28/06/2012 18:04

Oh Clarella how scary for you all. I hope you have supplies in case you lose electricity or something

CODwidow · 28/06/2012 18:10

Sorry I just meant a small storm not quite like that! Hope alls ok.

How do they do the baby plan? How much deposit do you put down?

Clarella · 28/06/2012 18:11

I have my camping head torch :)

I'm ok,but I'm sure lots of people are not :( . I don't think some people will actually get home tonight if going from town to coast etc. Hope anyone else up here is ok - I think honeymum is ?

Clarella · 28/06/2012 18:23

A friend filmed a street in town this afternoon, its on YouTube - 'man hole cover blows in Newcastle'.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 28/06/2012 18:27

It is sunny here now but earlier it was black like night time. I went into john lewis to have a look at prams today too and was shocked to see everyone coming in looking like they'd just jumped in a swimming pool. Some of the baby clothes are so cute in there and the blankets are gorgeous.

I loved the bugaboo cameleon (so easy to move) and the uppababy vista, the handles were long for me and dh (both giants) but the bugaboo bassinet was really low so it would hurt my back to pick the baby out and put into a car seat. With dd I had really bad back pains afterwards got to be so careful about which pram we pick. I want to try out the silver cross sleepover on linea chassis (so the wheels aren't static) but they didn't have any in to try. That is my pram review so far!!

SpottyTeacakes · 28/06/2012 18:34

I always think my friends dc look like they're going to fall out of the bugaboo once they get a big bigger. If I could afford it I would definitely be getting the Uppababy Vista or City Jogger Versa. But as dp is being stingy I think we'll be going with the Mutst Evo Grin

knottyhair · 28/06/2012 18:34

Clarella, hope your DH gets home OK. We've had 28 degrees and sunshine here, but all change for tomorrow. Lovely to hear about all the movements Smile.
Got my Downs risk results today as well - 1 in 170 for me, but the average is 1 in 140 for someone my age, and they only offer CVS/amnio for anything less than 1 in 150, so I'm feeling pretty optimistic - fingers crossed...

Clarella · 28/06/2012 18:41

He's home, ruined shoes and panicking about the building work :)

On the upside at least I definately know that what I feel are kicks, baby went crazy during worst lightening stuff. It's just that they are up high under my belly button, closer to the surface rather than deeper down near bladder as I imagined it should feel :)

StrawberrytallCAKE · 28/06/2012 18:43

I joined the mumsnet panel and was sent an email asking if I wanted to be put forward to get a mutsy for free to test. Only problem was I had to already have an under 6 month old so I couldn't do it but it looked really good. There is a discount place near us which has a showroom for most prams in case any of you are in the midlands - baby barn I think the prices are better if you go in.

SpottyTeacakes · 28/06/2012 18:47

There is nowhere near me that stocks it I don't think. My nearest John Lewis only has three prams Hmm

Clarella · 28/06/2012 18:50

Knotty, that sounds pretty good to me :)

MyDaydream · 28/06/2012 18:53

Clarella that sounds so scary. Hope your DH is okay.
There was a massive downpour here but only lasted the 10 minutes we were at the bus stop. Got soaked though.
Baby plan was offered to us. You can put things on and they need to be paid 10 working days before delivery (ours is nov). We paid £10 admin charge and 10% deposit but can now pay as much as we want as and when, or other people can pay bits for you as a gift.

Barbeasty · 28/06/2012 19:25

Stacks I didn't need to get up for a wee at all in my first pregnancy. Not so lucky this time.

Strawberry Did you look at the icandys? Certainly the Apple is quite high with the cot bit, and the handle extends well.

I am exhausted and really tired most days but a) DD still isn't sleeping through and B) my blood pressure is quite low (85/60) which I have read can cause tiredness. I know my iron levels are high.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 28/06/2012 19:32

Barbeasty I don't think I did but will definitely look at one as soon as I can, do they do them in mothercare? I might pop in tomorrow if so. Is that 85/160? mine is a bit low too and am really tired most of the time.

SpottyTeacakes · 28/06/2012 20:02

Icandy's really good, pretty sure Mothercare don't do it though.

Queenofsiburbia · 28/06/2012 20:21

clarella getting some swimming in :)
It's so wierd hearing about flooding, hope you dont have sny problems in your home. Full on sunshine daahn saarf and 30degs today, I've been boiling!

Think tonight's the night for....

Nope not that, DH, sorry.

Queenofsiburbia · 28/06/2012 20:27

Grrr stupid iPhone didn't update so I feel Blush about flippant flooding comments clarella, I'd only read up to you splashing around in sainsbury's!
Glad your man made it home fine. Hope all ok with you guys and everyone else in the floods.

HoneyMum21 · 28/06/2012 20:35

Thanks for concern Clarella - just got home as the shop i work in flooded and the buses were then all off so walked home.Even more exhausted now!

Clarella · 28/06/2012 20:39

Ha its fine, I thought it was amazing until later on! There must be some houses flooded but I think the main problem is all the travel. Bloody sunny now.
