Never had pain like this before in pregnancy, my hips feel like they did after I did the moonwalk (26.2 miles) at 7 weeks pg.

Only time it doesn't hurt is when laying on a hot water bottle, this does not aid work tbh!

SpottyTeacakes · 27/06/2012 20:34

Oh Stacey I hope it gets better, could it be SPD? I have no experience of it

CODwidow · 27/06/2012 20:57

Stacey if it is spd phone the physio as soon as you can and ask for a support belt their a bit of a pain but really helpful and try to twist yourself out of the car rather than one foot first.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 27/06/2012 21:01

Slight problem with the car as we've got a new Volvo xc90 and I can't twist out, it's so far down lol.

I thought spd was pelvic not hip?

OP posts:
CakeBump · 27/06/2012 21:15

What are the symptoms of SPD?

I don't think I've got it but I've had a trapped nerve off and on for weeks now in my right butt cheek. Any sort of bending down really aggravates it.

CODwidow · 27/06/2012 21:15

It is more pelvic but when mine started it showed itself in my hips first.
Mmm tricky with the car but just try keeping your knees together as much as is possible and roll out of bed. Hope it's just your hips stretching/expanding though and it settles down for you x

CODwidow · 27/06/2012 21:17

cake that's sciatica.

CakeBump · 27/06/2012 21:23

Oh is it? Should I mention it to the doctor? Can they do anything?

Thanks cod

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 27/06/2012 21:37

Thanks for the advice cod I'll do my best! Laying flat in bed helps unfortunately I can't sleep on my back so I doubt I 'll sleep much, I'm alright on my side as long as I stay completely still! Lol hope the stairs are easier tomo morning coming up them was awful, night everyone .

OP posts:
CODwidow · 27/06/2012 21:37

Don't think they can cake and it's one of them really annoying painful things! Sometimes it'll go by itself and other times it could last all pregnancy (sorry)

CakeBump · 27/06/2012 21:47

ok cod, thanks for the info.

Its more niggly and annoying at the moment to be honest, so its really not too bad.

Cookiesandcream06 · 27/06/2012 22:40

clarella I have Topshop ones although I don't think my 'bump' is big enough but I like that they're skinny and I had the same jeans in normal before. My arse fills them out a lot tighter now than it did at 8 weeks Blush
cake I had sciatica with DD, arrived about 18 weeks and was sent for physiotherapy and had a support band (it did sod all) it was agony I had it constantly. The only thing eventually I found that cured it was homeopathic medicine (safe in pregnancy) but it has come and go mildly ever since, and i felt it quite bad today so I'm v apprehensive it's going to be a similar experience ..

SeymoreButts · 28/06/2012 01:19

I've got some Gap over the bump jeans, they're skinny jeans and fit really well at the moment. I think the over the bump band will be too tight in a few months though, it's already too tight if you roll it down. I've just ordered another pair with an under bump band from Seraphine (in the sale). I like ASOS and Topshop but they never have my size online.

nutella that's great news on the scan! What a relief! I've been abusing google horribly this time around, I would be so much happier and relaxed if I hadn't looked up half of the stuff I have.

Just to give you all a laugh, look at what I have to contend with here! I'm not even allowed normal ham...

SpottyTeacakes · 28/06/2012 08:28

Oh the sickness will get better, not long now hopefully. Mine is still around if I get hungry and some days worse than others so that must be a sign that it's easing off. I don't care what anyone says being pregnant is definitely an illness!

Bellaboo123 · 28/06/2012 08:38

Feeling blrgh too don't think the stuffy weather helps!

Yay Parma ham...im going to stuff myself full of it today!

Jeans...I've got the under the bump Baxter ones from topshop...really comfy!

Can anyone recommend some nice black smart dresses for work...I usually wear quite tailored clothes...obv can't so much now! I've got the topshop flippy...much appreciated!

MyDaydream · 28/06/2012 09:22

Friend ice cream is balls of ice cream in some kind of batter quickly fried so the batter is warm and crispy but the ice cream is still cold and solid. It tastes weird and I wouldn't have it again. Tried it a few years ago in a Mexican restaurant.
Stacey - I totally understand what your going trough, i'm really struggling with my joints, especially my hips and knees. My dr told me to take some paracetamol, but that's not going to help me down the stairs. I'm seeing the dr this afternoon.
We're going on a fact finding mission for baby stuff tomorrow. We've got a budget in mind so just want to see what fits in with that.

Queenofsiburbia · 28/06/2012 09:41

Ooh poor peeps with painful hips and joints, I would def speak to the Dr as there may be something they can do. Would paracetamol help or is it beyond that?

Maternity dresses suggestion.. ASOS maternity. I got a gorgeous dress earlier in year in the sale, for a wedding I'll be going to in September.

Great jeans recommendations, I will try out seraphine.

cherrypiew3 · 28/06/2012 10:14

Morning everyone.

Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling rubbish this morning, I agree with spottyteacakes pregnancy is an illness these last 10 weeks have been awful. I am finding that most of the day I am feeling better now but the ms still gets me at times.

Is anybody else finding they are having problems sleeping I go to bed really tired and once my head hits the pillow I am wide awake takes me ages to get to sleep, then wake up around 4 for the toilet and can not get back to sleep.

Hope everyone has a good day.
