Hi everyone, as we were close to the 1000 message limit i thought i should start a new thread so we could link this one (and we don't all end up wandering in cyberspace for a few days again Grin)

Bio oil - a lovely treat on stretched tummy skin. 2 kids later, not one stretchmark! Pregnant Heaven in a (rather expensive) bottle :)

mwahmwah · 21/06/2012 22:04

Off to amazon that book about houses inside said stretchmark free tummy... My dd will love it! Thanks for the tip.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 21/06/2012 22:17

I have so many stretch marks from dd it would be a complete waste of my money to use bio oil, but I don't care, I never showed my tummy anyway :)

That book looks lovely, I want another kid now to read it to!

When do you do the bio oil - is it worth it yet? I'm putting palmers stretch mark cream on my bottom which has enlarged by 2 or 3 inches (annoyingly) and some on belly - actually everywhere cos it really makes your skin soft - but is it worth it yet?

Ok getting silly now, wind, baby or twitching muscle?!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 21/06/2012 22:36

I actually know it word for word it's scary! Lol

clarella I started to feel the baby move at the weekend. If its always in the same place and happens more after a cold drink or when you lie down its the baby :) dh can feel the little flicks too, I think it must have long legs like both of us.

Clarella · 22/06/2012 07:43

Oh wonderful! I woke up early to find DH holding my belly and told him he wouldn't feel it for ages... maybe he will!

It is more like flicks now but I thought it would be deeper inside. Im 17+4 so it could be but had been prepared to not feel till 20 weeks.

PurplePidjin · 22/06/2012 07:47

I'm pretty sure PidjChick scored a goal last night, 17 weeks today. Need it to happen again so i can compare!

JoJoB77 · 22/06/2012 08:06

Morning all! I've been feeling faint bubbles of movement but it's very random at the moment.

Re: pushchairs. We are looking at the iCandy pear double as DD will only be 20 months by the time new baby arrives. Those ladies with a young one already what are you going for??

SeymoreButts · 22/06/2012 08:51

I'm getting more taps than bubbles now too, last night I was lying on my back in the bath and I could actually see it moving from one side to the other a few cms above my pubic bone. It never fails to freak me out slightly at first! DS's movements were very visible from the outside too, probably because I'm such a midget, there's nowhere for the baby to go but outwards!

Is anyone else suffering with headaches? I feel like I'm popping paracetamol every other day at the moment.

I think I will probably go for a bugaboo cameleon again. I used one with DS and DD, it's a shame we sold it, it was in good condition! I plan to look for a secondhand one on Ebay, there's no way I'm buying another new one for one child only!

I also used a phil & teds when DS was newborn. I liked it more when it was 2 seats rather than a pram and a seat on top. DS used to cry a lot because he couldn't see anything at all in the pram. Although it was brilliant for getting around London, and in snow!

SeymoreButts · 22/06/2012 09:00

PS I used bio oil in my other pregnancies and haven't got stretch marks on my belly. I didn't put it on my boobs in my first pregancy and have got stretch marks on my boobs! I'm sure it's just genetic and there's nothing you can do, but I'm still slathering it on all over again this time!

knottyhair · 22/06/2012 09:07

Seymore, I get headaches as well, some days worse than others. I think a few other people have said that as well. Paracetamol is fine so I'm trying not to stress about it, but only take them when I really need them. How lovely that you can see that movement Smile!

mwahmwah · 22/06/2012 10:16

clarella you can use bio oil as early as you like, get the benefits as quick as possible. However, there's definately a genetic element but I just want to do whatever I can to avoid the suckers!
How exciting for all you girls feeling movement, mines just wind I'm sure!

Barbeasty · 22/06/2012 10:23

Jojo, we're looking at the pear, mainly because we've got the apple so converting is one of the cheaper options. And I do like the apple, so happy to stick with it.

DD is a bit older (will be 2 on Monday) but still likes to use a pushchair lots, and a few people I know have had similar gaps and really needed it when the older child tantrums etc and refuses to walk.

I'm getting headaches a couple of times a week, normally if I'm stuck on the computer in my own office all day. I have to take paracetamol for them, or they leave me feeling drained and sick. Poor DD is learning phrases for all sorts of ailments!

Bubbless · 22/06/2012 10:44

Hiya all, will reply properly later as on my phone but I'm already using bio oil at 13+1!
Went for my scan this morning, it was adorable, jumping around and moving arms and legs :)
I think she said my meausrement was 1.7? I have no idea what this means!!
They have moved my due date from 29th to 27th!
Woke up last night with horrific cramps, but thought I felt a fluttering at the bottom of my rib cage but probs not!!

I am also suffering with constant headaches, my sonographer says its all she hears about all day!!

Will reply properly later, but hope everyones having a good day! :)

Stacks · 22/06/2012 11:34

Bublless my measurement was 1.7 too, which turned out to be good.

I've got some Bio oil around somewhere - I used it for my operation scar and it was really good. So far I've just been using plain old moisturising cream, but I'll switch to the bio oil at the weekend once I've had time to find which drawer it was put in :)

I have a "baby heart monitor" I bought off ebay for £5. However you can't use it till the 3rd trimester, so if you do look to buy one you should check when you an use it. I think probably most of the cheap ones online are for much later in pregnancy when they don't need to be so sensitive.

brooke89 · 22/06/2012 12:50

I want to feel baby Sad every time I think I can it's just wind Blush

SpottyTeacakes · 22/06/2012 13:03

My due date is 27th too Bubless!

I didn't use bio oil with dd for a few stretch marks about 34 weeks nothing I'm bothered about though.

I've got the midwife on Monday is 13+4 too early to hear the heartbeat?

SpottyTeacakes · 22/06/2012 13:04

Brooke I thought I was feeling movements but I have an anterior placenta so maybe not Blush

pmgkt · 22/06/2012 13:12

Hi, can I join you too. I had my scan today and my date has moved from 3rd Jan, to 28th Dec. this is my second one, ds1 is 2 in July.

knottyhair · 22/06/2012 13:18

Welcome pmgkt! Spotty, I'm not sure about hearing the heartbeat then, at my first appt I was only 10+3 and the midwife said I'd hear it at the next appt at 16 weeks (I'll actually be 17+2 then).

Bubbless · 22/06/2012 14:03

welcome pmgkt!

Spotty- glad someone else on here is exactly the same as me! aha.
although sono-lady did say its very unlikley to come on that day!!
who / how do you know that you have an anterior placenta?!

PurplePidjin · 22/06/2012 14:04

My 16w appt was actually 15+2 and we got a heartbeat...

SpottyTeacakes · 22/06/2012 14:07

I only know because the sonographer told me. I suppose that could make the heartbeat harder to find too? I really look pregnant now can't believe it I'm only 13 weeks!

CakeBump · 22/06/2012 14:12

Spotty I caught sight of myself in my swimming costume in a full length mirror at the pool the other day and can't believe how pregnant I looked! I'm 14+1.

My only hope is that I get big early and then stay the same size.... I've got to fit in my wedding dress next month! :)

Pidgin oooh we might get to see the heartbeat at our next appointment then! I'll be 15+4 :)
