My massive belly bump has deflated over night - think a combo of slight dehydration, massive water retention, slightly bunged up all of which an evening swim seems to have dissipated! A slight hint if things to come, it was really hard to bend over it yesterday!

See consultant later for thyroid results, really don't know if they will do a scan or not, anyone know? Bit nervous about results :/.

Bubbless · 21/06/2012 11:10

cool, also, i MUST remember to take £5 in change so i can get my scan pics!
queen im up once a night, this pregnancy thing is exhausting ;)

clarella not sure if they will go a scan or not, but good luck on your results, stay posative! im a fine one to talk xD
i keep getting stuck in my sofa but i think thats my food baby ;)
its really weird when it dissapears!!

FriendofDorothy · 21/06/2012 11:40

Do they charge you for scan pics?

Bubbless · 21/06/2012 11:48

yupp £5 for 2 pics...
do you get yours for free?!?!

lauraloo09 · 21/06/2012 11:55

Morning all got my 16 week appointment with a consultant today as I am classed as high risk, anyone know if this is exactly the same as a midwife appointment or will they discuss more about my wishes for birth etc?

bubbless we get a scan photo for free at my hospital in Scotland :)

FriendofDorothy · 21/06/2012 11:56

Yeah we seem to get them free. I have had 3 scans and got 4 pics at one and 3 pics at another.... mind you we seem to pay for everything else!

JoJoB77 · 21/06/2012 11:58

They charged us 3 for £10. I can't remember how much it was for one tho.

PurplePidjin · 21/06/2012 12:09

Ours is £5 in change, you buy a token from a machine in the waiting area. I got 5 pics for that.

Make sure you take electronic copies, the originals deteriorate (does anyone remember the old rolls of fax paper?)

Chloe55 · 21/06/2012 12:13

Been feeling the baby for about a week now, not constantly but becoming more regular and definite each day-prob feel the odd flutter about 10 times a day but today nothing Sad Am getting a bit panicky, not sure whether I'm just not feeling it today or it's not moving? Is it normal to feel it some days and not others in the early stages? I just can't remember with ds.

Bubbless · 21/06/2012 12:23

pidjin 5 pics?!?! why is my hospital set on ripping me off! aha.

chloe might be worth ringing MW/doc if your worried?

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 21/06/2012 12:23

i would say it's perfectly normal not to feel them some days at the beginning. I feel this one probably on average every other day maybe a bit less, it depends how much pressure there is on my belly too (if trousers dig in im more likely to feel the movement) Try not to worry.

How do you recognise when the baby's moving? I keep thinking I can feel something then realise it's just wind or a pulse or something.

Clarella · 21/06/2012 12:35

I think ours were 2 quid each, tokens also, but as there was an extra sonographer from Scotland doing quality control/ sharing procedures I think we were given some extra ones so ended up with 6.

Massively thinking of you all with your scans xx

Haven't been able to decide if I feel wind or wriggles for a week now, still not sure! If it is baby seems slightly left of centre would that be it?

CakeBump · 21/06/2012 12:38

I can't believe people have to pay for scan pics!!!

One per appointment over here - its free (although I suppose I have health insurance so not really free...)

When do we start to feel movement? 14 weeks here, and have had a definite bump for 2 weeks but no movement yet. I caught myself in the mirror at the swimming pool yesterday and couldn't believe my eyes!! I'm sure you're not supposed to show this early for a first??

Hope everyone has a good day x

SpottyTeacakes · 21/06/2012 12:41

I didn't pay for my pics.

Wrt movement if you've thought you've felt it you probably have! Remember that if your placenta is anterior then you might not feel movements as early on Smile

CODwidow · 21/06/2012 12:44

£10 I was charged for our photos but the sonographer did then clip the token in my file so I can use it at my 20 week as well.
I probably feel baby every other day or sometimes every third it's very hard at this stage as its so early. So I wouldn't worry too much chloe

My mega thirst seems to have settled so pleased about that just wish the headaches would do one now then I'd feel pretty normal and could enjoy what's going on.

I'm still in my trousers and you can't tell I'm pregnant yet but quite funny as when I look down it seems rounder and my sister mentioned yesterday side on my belly is round now so that's nice means my bump is going to just appear one day soon I'm sure!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 21/06/2012 13:01

COD your headache could be your body getting used to reduced fluid from the last few days/weeks, if i go on a diet and drink loads of water for a few days/ weeks when I go back to drinking a normal amount i get terrible headaches, but they clear up in a few days. I hope they get better soon!

1 very lazy awkward baby :) having to have a walk around see if he/she will move for measurements :)

SpottyTeacakes · 21/06/2012 13:31

Run up and down some stairs Grin

WeeDot · 21/06/2012 14:05

ellliebelle I had the opposite at my 12 (13) week scan the baby would not stop moving it took AGES to get an accurate measurement, got my 16 week MW appmt next week.

CODwidow · 21/06/2012 15:30

This headache has lasted about 2 weeks now literally I wake up with it and go to bed with it and it's a real pounding one. I've started having a sleep in the afternoon but that's not helped either.

ellie my bean was hard to wake as well but when they did it started jogging on the spot! So funny to watch Smile

My friend at school had her baby this morning, a little boy which was so lovely as they'd been trying for 4 years. Made me remember all the hype and excitement that surrounds you with a new baby Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 21/06/2012 16:01

Purple would love to but will be with dp and be dd free (woop!). Be nice to do a halfway meet or something somewhen though.

Is the mamas & papas by the mothercare?

Cookiesandcream06 · 21/06/2012 16:05

At our hospital you pay a donation and you get a couple pics- think we got 3.

I keep thinking I've got a bump, but then the next morning it's just normal with a bit of fat on top (remains of previous baby bump!) I want a proper bump now Angry humpf.

Oh COD gutted for you your headaches havent eased, think its down to extra hormones still, mine have been real pounders I've never suffered like this.

Good luck on scans everyone Smile about time we ALL had a nice little pic of our 'fruit'.

Heard heartbeat for second time yesterday at MW. I really dont like her, neither does DP. She hasn't changed in 3 years!
