Thanks spottyteacakes might have to get one of those in advance! Planning first trip to mothercare at weekend to start my pram/car seat research.

Just seen we're due on the same day!

SpottyTeacakes · 20/06/2012 21:00

I'm getting excited now! Got a wedding in four weeks do need something to wear, going to go to Southampton shopping soon.

John Lewis are good for looking at pushchairs etc (you can always get them cheaper online though). Also babies r us often have lots out.

cherrypiew3 · 20/06/2012 21:19

Welcome Nicnac and Toxie and congratulations.Smile

Stacey and Knotty glad the scans went well.

brooke89 · 20/06/2012 21:28

Congratulations on scans today Grin

That must be nearly everyone now??

PurplePidjin · 20/06/2012 21:31

Spotty, let me know when and we'll have coffee if you like! I plan on hitting Babies R Us, Mothercare, Mamas and Papas and JL all in one day as they're so close. The big Tesco Extra has a big baby section that i want to explore, too :)

Bubbless · 20/06/2012 21:33

im not trying to be funny, im not the skinniest person, nor am i fat im just a bit.. flabby? aha. how do i know whats baby bump and whats my belly?!
sometimes, normally in the evening, my belly goes really hard. is this it starting? :/

pidjin wear them around the house and pretend they are very sexy underwear then act a little crazy and do the same with guests and be offended when they point out that they are support tights

equimum im glad your scan went well, mines on friday and im currently putting the fear of god into myself!!

is there anything that will reassure me between scans? what about baby heart monitors and stuff? anyone on DC 2/3/4/5.. who has advice!

stacy 16th is a very nice date for december actually, im rather jelous! aha. and its exactly one month before my birthday :))

PurplePidjin · 20/06/2012 21:48

I'm wearing them now, they went on as soon as i got home! Luckily i have a couple of long floaty skirts fromwhen i was larger that still fit, I'd die of heat exhaustion wearing them under my normal jeans - even the one pair that still fit :o

If Pidjchick turns up 2 weeks early, and i need to be transferred for some reason, we'll be born 31 years apart in the same ward of the same hospital (DP has already decided PidjChick is a Saints supporter like Mummy)

MyDaydream · 20/06/2012 22:10

Congratulations on all the scans.
I'm still waiting to feel better. The last week or so has been worse than I've felt for weeks. I just feel fat, frumpy and uncomfortable. None of the clothes I see and like fit, neither do my own clothes. I've just cries down the phone at DP because I feel so bad I've not tidied up tonight when I got in from work but I feel so shit. My DP is lovely and so caring but he doesn't get it. I know so many people have had it worse than me to this point, I'm just fed up.

ISpyPlumPie · 20/06/2012 23:26

Hi everyone,

Is it too late to join in? DC2 is due on the 4th Dec. Was a bit superstitious about joining before 12 weeks (had a bit of a scare with spotting earlier on) and the weeks have just gone since then!

My scan went well - have got a fantastic picture of the LO stretching his/her legs! Seeing the mw tomorrow so will hopefully hear the heartbeat for the first time.

Anyway, look forward to getting to know you all.

JoJoB77 · 21/06/2012 06:42

Welcome ISpy Smile

Bubbless, i personally am not getting a baby heart monitor as all it will do will make me more paranoid & i'd be using it at every opportunity. Once you start to feel baby move you will get daily reassurance. Although i admit to looking at some on ebay & are not as expensive as i thought Smile

I just realised, if i go a week overdue like i did with DD, i'll be in hospital on my birthday, the 24th! Hope this LO comes on time....

Equimum · 21/06/2012 07:42

bubbles good luck for your scan tomorrow. I really hope everything is okay.
As for reassurance, the midwife will hopefully be able to find a HB at 16 wk check, then the scan in 20 weeks, so I'm holding onto the fact that I only have to get through four weeks chunks now, which is a lot less than the first 10-12! I'm also wary that a Doppler would make mew more anxious, but it's a personal choice.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 21/06/2012 07:56

Morning all, looked at my notes and have appointments for bloods next week, then 16 week check the week after then the 20 week scan. Quite busy but seeing as my scan is in the summer holidays I've realised just how quickly this pregnancy will go! Can't believe DD will be in yr 3 and DS (my baby) in yr 1 before this baby comes, sometimes I really wanna find the pause button!!

knottyhair · 21/06/2012 08:24

Welcome ISpy! Good luck for tomorrow Bubbless. MyDayDream, really hope you start to feel better soon, I feel for you my love. Stacey, I know what you mean, I worked out for some pointless reason that DS will be in Year 9 when this little one starts school - he's still my baby even though he's 8!

CODwidow · 21/06/2012 09:08

From my experience once you can feel movement you become a little less anxious so I'm just waiting for that now. I have my 16 week appt next week so looking forward to hearing a heartbeat. I also can't believe all my ds's will be at school when this one arrives and eldest in yr5 I also wish I could pause time sometimes

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 21/06/2012 09:11

kids went into school showing off their scan photos! Was so sweet :) everyone was very pleased (although 98% of the adults knew already) I think i'm more excited for them than i am for me! lol

Queenofsiburbia · 21/06/2012 09:31

Hi Ispy btw, I know that book 'each peach pear plum' off by heart after reading it to my sis on repeat when we were young!

naomi nope I don't talk to the bump because my conversations with the dog are too long and interesting

bubbless I was thinking same thing about bump / flab confusion. I woke up in middle of night recently & my bump was so taut and bump-like I woke up DH who was v.excited. Then popped for a wee and it went back to normal Blush
However my 'sprout' app says at week 16 uterus is still expanding and moving forward making belly more obv. Phew!

Also said baby is size of an avocado for anyone interested in fruit comparisons. Begs the Q, how big is an avocado???

Bubbless · 21/06/2012 09:57

thanks for the support guys! a bit nervous as my mum / dad /entire family arnt being supportive so i cant really ask them all of the silly questions!

before my scan tomorrow can i only drink water? or is it just any fluids? or just clear fluids? or..? i cant keep water down!!

queen pahahahha, i have exactly the same! i keep getting excited then i pee and it goes :(( although someone did say i looked pregnant the other day (however, they did already know) and i was a tad confused as all of my trousers etc are still fitting fine!

if anyones having a down day, have a listen to flo rida- whistle, its such a happy summer song :)

Bubbless · 21/06/2012 09:57

stacy that sounds so so cute!! bless their little hearts!!

knottyhair · 21/06/2012 10:02

Bubbless, pretty sure you can drink anything, it's just about having a full bladder. Good luck Smile!

annelid · 21/06/2012 10:04

Bubbless - For my scan it said ANY fluid, so I had a glass of water then a glass of squash. I can't drink loads of water at once!

Queenofsiburbia · 21/06/2012 10:13

Drink what you like but not beer or gin ;-)
Don't do what I did and drink gallons. when she pressed with the scanner I was in agony. She told me I'd drunk too much and I had to pop to loo. I think medium full rather than bursting is what they're after!
Good luck with scan.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/06/2012 10:18

I didn't have a drink before my scan Shock well only half a glass all day. Baby is so ridiculously high already!

Bubbless · 21/06/2012 10:23

aha, okay!!

so il just drink as much as i can and hope its enough!!
do i need to take anything with me?

queen was it your scanner person who showed your DP your bladder because it was so big?! crazzzzzzzyy aha!

Clarella · 21/06/2012 10:52

I did exactly the same and the sonographer gleefully showed us how big it was - and was blooming painful. Also when I gave the wee sample afterwards I was conscious it looked like water so dunno if they managed to get anything from it! I find if I have a large cup of tea I need a wee exactly an hour later but I'd had that then a load of water on top :/

Queenofsiburbia · 21/06/2012 10:53

You need to take your pregnancy file with you that's it.

Nope sadly it wasn't my bladder, funny story though whoever that was! I bloody wish my bladder was bigger as I am getting up twice a night already!

Flo rida whistling away on radio right now!
