Hiya,
Thought I would start a thread as I couldn't seem to find one
I had a BFP yesterday - which by my estimations makes lo#2 due early November! I already have a ds who is 15 months (14/11/04) and my BFP with him was 2 days earlier than this one, how strange is that?
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know anyone that joins this thread and wishing everybody a happy healthy pg

Morning all.

Spinach thinking of you esp today and sending much positivetly x

What a sh**e nights sleep. Since I went back to work 4 mnths ago ds seems to want to feed mostly at night (can't blame him really) despite the fact I only work 2days/wk. He was great when he was new but now he's worse than ever. He occasionly sleeps through or wakes just the once but thinking I might need to punt him out our bedroom so I don't bring him in to bed to snuggle and feed - anyone got any top tips?

Stacey advice re booking it may be worth asking if notes are patient held. I know round here pg notes are are patient held meaning it doesn't matter if you change gp or hosp as you are in charge but have to try to not lose them Wink. However dating scans and nf scans get less accurate the longer you leave them approx 12 and 10 weeks respectively are the best times so if you're uncertain best to not wait too long. Good luck with the move.

Cece you may think this is weird (I did), you may have tried it or it may be completely irrelevant but one of my friends granddaughters had terrible trouble with her bowels for years but it resolved almost completely when she changed from full fat milk to semi - I thought it highly unlikely but she's a much happier wee girl.

Thanks for the stats.

Keep well

mygirllolipop · 10/03/2006 09:04

Morning,
good luck today spinach
DD3 hasn't slept thru since she was 6 weeks so if anyine's got any tips to stop her waking for boobies and cuddles I too would appreciated it!

twocatsonthebed · 10/03/2006 10:05

morning all

I'm knackered as well - and without even anyone else to blame. Pregnancy seems to have ruined my sleep, and my internal thermostat, so I'm either freezing or boiling and toss and turn all night. Is this just my own wierd symptom, or are other people getting this too?

Spinach - hope it all goes well today

awayfromhome · 10/03/2006 10:23

Morning

Good luck for today Spinach - fingers crossed for your test results and scan.

I have just returned from my doctors who has confirmed that I have a viable pregnancy :) Have been given some baby aspirin and a large dose of folic acid to take as I had quite a few problems with my last pregnancy.

Don't know what I was expecting in a scan this early but it was quite weird looking at the spot the doctor was pointing to on the screen - looked like a little black dot to me!

mygirllolipop · 10/03/2006 10:49

2cats - yes I am very hot all the time.
AFH - bless ya looking at a dot! I'll not get a scan til I'm at least 7 weeks, as I'm not even seeing the Dr til next Fri

twocatsonthebed · 10/03/2006 11:02

afh - great news Smile you must be really pleased!

awayfromhome · 10/03/2006 11:59

Thanks twocats and mygirl - yes I am really pleased... doctor sounded a note of caution about it being early days etc... I have to go back and see him in 2 weeks, to check the heartbeat etc and see how things are progressing. But it was really good to have it officially confirmed :)

At the moment, just feel sick and very tired, but I am not sleeping well at night either... my DD is making no allowances for this unfortunately!

staceym11 · 10/03/2006 12:19

i think il wait till at new doctors, as am only 19 so age not a factor, am perfectly healthy and only had one missed m/c but that was in first 3 weeks and am 5 weeks tomo so not too worried really!

staceym11 · 10/03/2006 12:21

afh, not as bad as i was with dd, at the 12 week scan i said out loud 'doesnt she look liek a baby squirrel?' and got some very odd looks!!!!

Tinasan · 10/03/2006 13:01

Congrats to all the new BFPs!!!

I wonder if anyone can help this first-timer with a stupid question - according to the date of my last period, 28th Jan, I am 5+6 today - does this mean I am in my 6th week of pregnancy? It's annoying me, I've bought a couple of books that go through pregnancy week by week, and I want to make sure I am looking at the right week!
thanks a lot
tinasan

brodiesmummy · 10/03/2006 13:08

My last period was on the 28th too ! Think it does mean we are 6 weeks preg, Hurrah! I already have DS who will be 2 around the same time this new little bean is due.Nice to meet other MN's in the same boat

awayfromhome · 10/03/2006 13:16

Tinasan - most of the books/websites I read in my first pregnancy calculated 5 weeks and 6 days as the sixth week of pregnancy. Although not all!

Usually their method of calculation is hidden somewhere in the small print - which is annoying when you just want to read about your current week and also when you flick between books and forget how each calculate it!! :)

CattyB · 10/03/2006 13:26

Hiya - not stupid at all - when counting the week + however many days its the week that tell you how preggers you are ie 5 + 6 = 5 weeks.

As I mentioned before normal gestation is between 36 and 44 weeks (although it is usually 38 - 42) so the info given is all done on averages - reading the before or after weeks may be more relevant to your individual pg. The baby doesn't change from pea sized to bean sized overnight - its all gradual - although I think its great to have that kind of reference. Think my wee one is meant to be the size of bean and have a tail at the mo!

mygirllolipop · 10/03/2006 14:09

It depends on the book/website Tinasan. But technically you are in you sixth week.
If you think about a baby in their first year they are not yet a year old because they are in their first year. So you are not yet ^ weeks but are in your sixth week.
I hope that makes sence. But as Catty says I think most people class that as 5 weeks.

spinach · 10/03/2006 15:42

my levels more than trebbled! so I'm very happy. The scan was okay too, saw the sac, and this time also the yolk sac, they said it had grown since sunday too, so its good news. Going back on sunday for more bloods!

mygirllolipop · 10/03/2006 16:03

Good news spinach. Why do they want more bloods? just to make you look like a pin cushion? Bless ya.

spinach · 10/03/2006 16:11

only because they are so baffled by it all, they're not sure why i bled so much and ended up in ITU... just being extra careful i guess.

mower · 10/03/2006 16:13

Really pleased for you spinach. Your levels have nearly tripled, could be twins!!

mower · 10/03/2006 16:15

That was really think of me to say could be twins cause of course you would have seen it on the scan!!!

spinach · 10/03/2006 16:16

hi mower... what were your levels? mine was 3500 and I am 5 weeks they told me they wanted it to be 2000 so I'm chuffed! I asked if it could be more than one and they said they hadnt thought of that! I had though!

spinach · 10/03/2006 16:17

i did only see one yolk sac but my mate is a nurse and she said the other one may not have been visiable! sure its just one. How are you feeling?
