Hello busy bees. Sorry to hear about your cold Needles, hope you didn't catch mine last week Wink (that I've now passed onto my Mum...). Get well soon. I was a proper grump with mine, esp as DH had it too. Meh to summer colds.

Ishop, hope you too feel bit better later.

Frilly, did MW ever show?

Also been super busy today. Up early to make DH birthday bacon sarnie, do pressies etc. Then made choccie cake (still need to ice etc), wrapped up many more pressies, as it's DMum, DSis, DBIL, other DBIL and DDad all in the next 4 weeks! Nightmare. Then, start Sept, is DSIL and DMIL b'days too. AGH!! So we're being super organised and getting everything bought and wrapped so there's nowt to do when baby is here and we're not stressy about anyone else's birthdays etc!

Still need to go to bank to cash cheque so we can order furniture on Thurs, buy bits for tonight, sort out decoration thing for DH, sort out DDog who is losing her mind with boredom and then maybe eat lunch and collapse before everyone arrives tonight. Oh yeah, and clean bathroom again before MIL etc arrive. Give me strength.

But the sun is trying to come out which is a good sign. Have a good day everyone and I say put feet up where possible and eat Cadbury's fingers which is what I'm going to do later. x

PictureThis · 03/07/2012 13:29

32+1 today. I've got a growth scan this afternoon so we'll see if this boy is head down yet.....i'm not holding out much hope! I too appear to have caught a cold, most annoying as sleep is elusive enough as it is without adding a blocked up/streaming nose to the equation. I'm going through tissues and Happinose at a rate of knots here and feeling very sorry for myselfSad. I've had a few nosebleeds this pregnancy 3bears, the worst one whilst we were mid flight to the Canaries, poor DD was distraught as she thought I was hurt. The cabin crew were useless and a very kind fellow passenger came to my rescue. I've always got tissues with me now for this reason.

MrsM I am now craving chocolate cake after reading your post. It's no good, I'm going to have to buy one this afternoon when I go to Tesco.

frillylemons · 03/07/2012 15:41

Gosh you are all so busy!!

Yes, MW did show in the end! I am measuring 33.5cm and am 32 weeks today. Baby is head down and has a good heartbeat :) All good in the hoood (booyah).

So...braxton hicks...I'm really sorry Blush but I've totally not been reading much about what people have written re BH. SO, would you be kind enough to answer a question for me Confused?

Two or three times today I have noticed my bump tighten for about 3 seconds and then it relaxes. It doesn't hurt, and initially I thought it was baby, (ooh it just happened again) but I am now wondering if it is BH. Does it sound at all familiar to anyone?

frillylemons · 03/07/2012 15:43

By the way, picture and ishop, you have my sympathies for feeling so poo. Have a Brew on me (not literally on me...that would be weird. And painful...). Do try and relax :)

MrsMigginslovespies · 03/07/2012 16:40

Frilly that sounds exactly like what I had too (only had a few though) and I think is indeed a BH. Some people can get them a lot stronger, but it sounds just like mine. Really wierd too when it goes all tight, no?! Glad MW showed up and all is well Smile.

Cake looks awesome if I do say so myself. Only hope it tastes ok too now. Tis not slimming, however, without about a ton of chocolate and butter! I'll try and post a photo if I ever work out how to.

Just had nice two hour nap and now feel a lot better as was very sore from all my activities. Just got bathroom left to do hurrah.

frillylemons · 03/07/2012 17:32

Thanks MrsM! Yeah it's so weird!! Cake sounds lush and I am so jealous of your nap Envy Not long till I go on ML though!! Bring it on!!

Loupee · 03/07/2012 17:50

mrsmiggins that sounds like an exhausting, glad you managed a nap. Could go some cake myself.
frilly that's all good from the midwife, I always feel a huge sense of relief after each appointment, then soon after start worrying about the next one!
On Friday I'll be 37 weeks, eek! I phoned the pram centre to chase up my order that is due in 'early July' they still can't give me an exact date, I don't like that. Going to pick up the car seat this weekend so will at least have that, but starting to worry my buggy won't come in time, eek. Trying to reassure myself that at least we have everything else sorted. Ho hum.

susiegrapevine · 03/07/2012 18:25

Hey everyone. Glad scans went well. Mine did to. Sonographer said baby is perfect size at an estimated 4lb 11oz which is exactly on the 50th centile for my gestation as am 33 weeks today! Yay! Home birth here we come! With fingers crossed that nothing happens to prevent it between now and d-day!

Hope everyone with colds feels better soon as I know how bad I felt with mine a couple of weeks ago.

Midwife for me tmw as she is away next week so having appointment a week early.

fairtradelu · 03/07/2012 18:30

Totally with you on the night sweats Marmite. Have been waking up caked in moisture the last few nights.

Last night was my first real night of properly bad interrupted sleep: baby kicked me awake, I then needed the loo (naturally), then felt really sick and then, after 30 mins of trying to get back to sleep with LO practising kung fu inside, I decided I was hungry and needed to eat. Bless DH, he got up and brought us breakfast in bed at 3:30am. I slept okay after that but LO hasn't half been active the last 24 hours. I think it's because I had my midwife app yesterday and said LO was lazy as I don't feel that much movement. That'll teach me! LO has seemingly been on a mission ever since.

justine09x · 03/07/2012 18:31

Thanks Susie I was thinking along the same lines, I will pack one when I can be bothered when I have all the bits, Just to warn u my first was 6 hours and my second as previously stated 45 mins from first pain to birth so glad u are prepeared for speedy arrival lol.

artyjennie you and my DH would get along famously as he is addicted to dairylea it drives me potty who spends a tenner a week on Dairylea?? Confused

Glad u are all doing well, I cant believe some of u only have 30 something days to go I darent count the days yet i'm in denial..............already have two charming but very naughty children all ready i'm a bit nervous about throwing a baby in the mix eeek.............................what have I done? is it too late to change my mind? ......i'm thinking not :/

Whiteangel · 03/07/2012 18:35

MW for me tomorrow too. Will be 35+6. I want to stop working. I really can't be bothered! Just don't care anymore! Just booked a massage for next Thurs. Could have gone this Thurs but have NHS antenatal class at the hospital. Hope it is good as it us really long and DH is already moaning about having to go! Wasthe only one at the BF workshop by myself though so he has no say! Have a relaxing evening everyone, especially those of you partying!

Whiteangel · 03/07/2012 18:41

30 days! Eek! Meant to ask you more experienced ladies a question. Our next door neighbour had twins last Wed. Think she came home on Monday but not seen anyone other than car sometimes being out. We've got a card and some presents for the boys but don't know when to pop round. Don't want to leave it too long and be bad neighbours but also don't want to spoil their baby moon. Currently watching for her mum coming or going so we could give pressie to her. What do you think?

justine09x · 03/07/2012 18:46

It would all depend whiteangel are they her first babies? I was up and about alot quicker with my second, I think you are doing the right thing looking out for her mum, or wait for a sign they are up and about don't quite know what maybe curtains open and hubby in and out?? I would be brave and give them a quick knock, but dont stay too long and if they offer u a drink offer to make them one. Other than this its a bit tricky as u never know if they are are all resting, think it depends on how laid back they are, I personally didnt mind lots of visitors but others can get quite overwhelmed. Hope this helps xx

frillylemons · 03/07/2012 19:06

Susie, is this your first home birth? I'm really curious as to what they involve/why people decide to have them!! But nosey, sorry Blush

Glimpers · 03/07/2012 19:28

Am Envy of all you ladies with bumps weighing in the 4lb region... We went for a 3d scan on Saturday and bump is estimated at 5lb 7oz already at 33 + 2!!! Help!! Am now panicking at the thought of actually having to get it out!? DD was only 6lb 7oz at 39 + 3 when she was born.
Am now off to eat cake to calm myself Grin
Kitchen is now all finished and DH finished decorating the spare room at the weekend so I have been able to start nesting with a vengeance Grin
Am fed up with the rain and I want it to go away now!!

quickchat · 03/07/2012 20:34

Hi everyone. Im feeling super anxious here too. My fear is that I have one healthy boy, 1 healthy girl - will I be lucky enough to pull it off again? Im soooo worried that the baby is ok.

Also, My two were over 3 weeks early so Im paranoid that like my other two, my waters will just go without warning and Im only 31.4 today, I need to stop thinking about it. Smile.

I think ishop mentioned changing boys bums compared to girls - much easier ishop. Boys are a sealed unit Grin. Easy clean sweep round to change. I couldn't believe how much longer and how much faffier a girls nappy change was.

My legs ache too. As usual, im worrying about it being a blood clot. What I mean by that is, when Im at the end of PG and when I have babies im so anxious about everything and I always think the worst. I just didn't get this with the other two though. They just ache like mad. Need to get those tights you are all talking about.

I have noticed on 'ONE BORN EVERY MINUTE' The ladies in labour all seem to have them on. Is that the norm down south? We never get them or are told to wear them for birth here? (edinburgh)

Had a great day today. My friend watched my two kids while DH and I got to go to the new house we are moving to in 4 weeks time. The lady allowed us in with a heating engineer and architect so we can get some work organised for the 2 weeks we are renting once we have the keys.

DH was trying to talk to me about walls coming down and heating systems and I was just planning curtains and paint and children's bedrooms in my head not listening to a word!

It would be nice not to have to do all of this work at the same time the baby is due but it's exciting too. Love our new house and can't wait to get the keys.
STAY IN SITU BABY until we have moved into the house and DS has his first day at school 14th AUG. Terrified i miss that!

Hope everyone else is well x

woopsidaisy · 03/07/2012 21:17

36 Days to go here. Exciting.

Have had a crazy day getting organised to go to England tomorrow to visit in-laws for 10 days.

Only sit down I got was during Ice Age 4, which I took DS1 to see. I fell asleep, until my snoring woke me up! Blush
DS asked me how I fell asleep when the film was so loud. Luckily there were not too many there. And it was dark,Grin

My ankles are so swollen they may burst. So off to elevate and paint my nails.

Glad all the scans and "nesting" things are going so well. And I am in awe of all of you who are moving house.

susiegrapevine · 03/07/2012 21:31

justine yeah had heard this is how it could be and when i went in hospital for my 1st they kept telling dh to make sure for the next one he brings me in at the 1st twinge so decided this time to have a home birth to stop the stress of getting there in time same for you i guess.

frilly yes 1st home birth decided to have one as 1st one was so quick and i only used gas and air and a tens machine, plus i hated staying in hospital over night with a new born with out my dh to help me - even tho there were staff there, they are busy and its not the same i felt alone, and i just hate hospitals full stop, so as i am low risk decided to hb it as there is no more risk for 2nd baby than going to hospital for a low risk pregnancy.

frillylemons · 03/07/2012 21:46

Cool, well I hope it goes well, Susie!! Exciting stuff Smile

ishopthereforeiam · 03/07/2012 23:05

Feeling much better everyone, sorry for earlier breakdown!

mrsm your organizational skills put me to shame! Hope your dh jad a lovely day? Cake spunds delish.

white angel I'd leave it at least a fortnight... With dd I was sleeping til 3pm for the first month and barely pit of pj's!

quick yes I jad to wear those stocking things in labour with dd, think it's to help prevent dvt and clotting perhaps? Ps thx for the reassurance on changing dstobe!

Feeling a little overwhelmed as just trying to work through logistics of being in hospital plus recovery time, managing dd / nursery and her and dh visiting plus pils and parents visiting hospital etc. And realised I bought nighties without buttons on front so no good for bf! Still haven't bought nappies fordstobe or washed clothes or stocked up freezer (altho dh said don't bother yet as we'll eat it all pre dstobe!) Also wondering if I'll be able to pick dd up post c/ s as I need to to change her nappies (and as she loves 'pick ups'.... ). suddenly it all feels v real and v imminent!

Also need to sort out anniversary stuff as that'll be the week after dstobe is here hopefully...

panpipe · 03/07/2012 23:14

Loupee what pram are you getting? Our iCandy is due to arrive 'early July' too. I'll be on mat leave next week so planning to give them another call then to see how things are looking.

Home alone for the week now as DH back in Manchester for work. He's only got this week and 2 days next week now luckily; I've been struggling being on my own at times so the poor man gets it in the neck when he is back because I've been feeling down. It's a pretty busy week though so hoping that will keep me occupied.

ImissMiniPop · 04/07/2012 06:29

ishop the nurses told me to have the clean nappy underneath Minipop so the dirty one is taken away there's something to cover in case of any further wee.

I have to open nappy, let air get to bits then put nappy back to catch the inevitable wee fountain that happens, vheck it's safe and then carry on changing nappy.

The nurse also said make sure it's pointing downwards when doing nappy back up, otherwise the nappy'll leak out the top! :o

pleased to read about all the scans, can't wait for next bubba to arruve :)

ImissMiniPop · 04/07/2012 07:12

Just realised I posted this in the group, but not on here Blush. So, it's possible MiniPop might be coming home at the weekend - eek!

Having a major panic now and am trying to sort out as much as possible, but what do I need? we can't get too much as haven't moved, so no space!

we have bassinet, new mattress, bedding, buggy, bottles, steriliser, nappies etc..., car seat coming on Thursday (please don't cock it up Mr Amazon!), ummm.... ummm... am so excited, but also scared.

PictureThis · 04/07/2012 08:06

Fantastic news Poppy. i know it's scary but you'll be fine and before you know it you won't remember life any other way.

Well the scan yesterday showed our little boy is growing nicely. He has chubby cheeks and very long legs (measuring 36 weeks in length) with the rest being right for gestational age. But he's still breech, sat there quite happily with his feet in front of his faceGrin. There's still time to turn so I haven't given up hope just yet. I'm back to work tonight but I'm not sure how long I'm going to last if I'm honest. My pelvis is so painful come evening time but we'll give it a whirl and see how I go.
