PS, not meaning to freak you out, but it's now July. Which means we're due next month!!! Can't wait to meet my baby now x

frillylemons · 01/07/2012 13:53

Hi Justine, what's your EDD? Is this DC1?

Sounds like a plan re frozen meals...I'll have to do the same Smile

The3Bears · 01/07/2012 16:58

Hi all, Busy day here been food shopping swimming with ds, tidying up, washing and going to do some reading with ds now while dp is at work phew feel like i've not stopped all weekend as we had a busy day yesterday too.
Has everyone been drinking their rasberry leaf tea? I got some but have kept forgetting to have some, should really start now only 41 days to go Shock

Welcome Justine, im nearly done with my hospital bag just need to add some pjs and a nightie :) I did get some new ones to put in there but decided they looked comfy so i'll wear them now and not put them back in the bag Blush
Loupee good idea about the meals I might start some next week really need to clear the freezer abit beforehand though. Im going to do shepards pie/cottage pie, bolognaise and maybe some chilli might pop into m&s and get a few ready meals aswell to make life easier with a newborn :)
Poppy so glad Thomas is doing well, hopefully he will be home soon :) No tips on changing a wriggly baby as I cannot remember its has been along time since I have had to do nappies, we had a changing mat with a toy over it with ds but it wasnt v good and kept falling off so didnt really help in the long run. Im sure you'll get the hang of it when he is home and you've had alot of practice Grin
frilly and west how cheeky are your dh's! Men they dont know what we go through growing these babies Grin Im enjoying the 50 shades books frilly how about you? feel a little bit Blush for enjoying them when they are flamed so much on mn.
Ive been sleeping okay recently sometimes wake at silly times desperate for the loo but apart from that im okay, my ribs have been v sore though especially when im sat up. Cannot believe next month we will be having babies and maybe some will this month it's so scary but exciting aswell Grin

Hope everyone is having a lovely lazy sunday with lots of chocolate, will pop back on after.

Whiteangel · 01/07/2012 20:18

Yes picture this, that's us. I've put the article on facebook if anyone wants a read. Will attempt to add it to my blog too. So long since I updated it I'm nit sure if I can remember how! Just had my last private antenatal class. Got a NHS fedding workshop tomorrow and then a birth choices session on Thurs. Am then officially allowed to have this baby. Hope I don't have to wait weeks and weeks. I'm dreading going over and having to be induced! Just been doing hand massages so feel very chilled. Make all of those misbehaving DHs try it!

ishopthereforeiam · 01/07/2012 21:38

Oh please post a link to the article / blog white!

mrsm not even next month for me as dstobe will be out at 38 weeks (if all goes well) so 26 days to go Hmm!?

picture hope you're feeling better? The cramp can be agonising. Also good purchases Grin I love TK Maxx for little bits and bobs, bought dd a ralph lauren swimming costume from there for a tenner and also buy all of her grobags there (for a third of the usual price!). They also have the swaddleme blankets which we used for dd so will waddle back @ some point to buy some for dstobe.

In other news a lovely day today having lunch out with friends. Potty training dd still trial and error Blush only tried twice. First time she peed on the floor, this time I shall leave to your imagination. Maybe I need to read up on it a bit more!?

Welcome justine am doing hospital bag this week as midwife freaked me out... also going to wash dstobe's clothes. Then the next few weeks will be stocking up the freezer with some nice home made food (if we don't eat it all first)!

tashaw28 · 01/07/2012 21:58

Wow, haven't logged on for a few days and have a load of posts to catch up on!

Hi everyone, especially newcomers, I've had a big shopping weekend, spent £60 in Boots and bought another top in Mama's and Papa's sale for £20, wasn't gonna buy anymore maternity clothes but it's a slouchy type top that I'm sure will fit after too, also got loads of my fave breast pads (lansinoh) in Mothercare as they were on 3 for2. Think I'm pretty much done now!!!!

Re bag packing, have made a start but am 33 today and think I'll get it done in the next few weeks or so, doubt I'll be that early as bump isn't that big yet.

tashaw28 · 01/07/2012 21:59

Oh forgot to add, whenever I've been on my feet for a while the lower half of my legs aches like mad! ANyone else have this? I'm guessing it's from the extra weight they're not used to supporting?

ishopthereforeiam · 01/07/2012 23:45

tash I get cramps in the back of my legs / calves from walking too much if that's what you mean?

80s they had a good deal for dling the trilogy for £9.99!

OP posts:
ishopthereforeiam · 01/07/2012 23:51

ImissMiniPop · 02/07/2012 01:51

ishop eek! 26 days, that's very exciting... :o

Vinolover · 02/07/2012 08:08

tash the back of my legs ache constantly, It feels like the after effects of cramp without having it. I'm going to get some incredibly sexy support stockings to help.

My lovely sil text me on friday night to say she has ordered me the grey trilogy so I'm to look out for my postman Grin.

My parents are taking my children away for the weekend and as I'm no longer working them I will get to spend saturday afternoon sorting out my hospital bag in peace and quiet :). I may sneak a little nap in too Wink

Does anyone else feel quite anxious yet? I know i shouldn't because I've done it all twice before but I'm really beginning to panic slightly now :( I'm seeing MW on thursday so will mention anxieties to her.

Ishop you must be feeling super excited!

Hope everyone has a good week.

Westcountrylovescheese · 02/07/2012 08:27

Vino, me too feeling anxious. I finished work on Friday and DH keeps making comments about my long holiday and how jealous he is of me. Hmm

I'm actually really scared.

panpipe · 02/07/2012 09:23

Vino I don't think I've got to the anxious stage yet; I'm just panicking about how much we've still got to do! I'm expecting reality to kick in a bit once I finish work. Last week this week - 2 more handover days then I'll use the last 3 to tie up loose ends and sort things out.

Justine I've packed a hospital bag even though going for a planned homebirth. MW suggested I took one on holiday the other week just in case so I've kept it. I figure even if we don't end up in hospital it'll still be handy to have everything in one place.

Been a busy weekend in panpipe land. SIL and I had a joint baby shower on Sat which was lovely, except none of my friends could come so that was slightly weird! We had it at MIL's house an she was SO judgemental about 2 of SIL's friends who had babies - "it's supposed to be your day, why can't X leave her baby at home / why does it matter if Y's baby is asleep?". Makes me dread to think how she'll be with us!

Hope you all have a good day Smile

Vinolover · 02/07/2012 09:38

Glad it's not just me feeling scared then! I find it hard to say anything to my DH about it because he will just roll his eyes and say I'm being silly etc but it's so difficult to shake.
I'm at the point now where I desperatly want it all over with and hoping he decides to come a couple of weeks early, (yeah right, like that will happen!) but we still have so much decorating to do and my DH has started on the extension at the back of the house which he can only get on with at weekends. This is not helping with me trying to nest lol.

Pan I've decided after reading stories on here and being dumbstruck at times over my own MIL that they can be very strange indeed! I hope you managed to enjoy the baby shower though even though your friends couldn't be there.

The3Bears · 02/07/2012 11:26

Yes to feeling anxious vino going to mention it to my midwife on Wednesday aswell because in last pregnancy I had high blood pressure in the last few weeks and kept being sent to hospital so dont want to go through the same thing again as nothing was wrong with me or baby it was just me being so anxious :( I feel more scared this time around as I know whats coming, I am remebering how it felt the first time and not looking forward to it on the other hand though I know it doesnt last forever and at the end of it all I get another beautiful baby Grin So trying to put all the scary thoughts to the back of my mind and focus on holding my baby but it's much easier said than done.

panpipe MIL's can be awful, I know mine can be. Hope you had a nice baby shower Grin

Wow ishop 26 days! How exciting, cant wait til we all start having more babies to join poppys ds.

Well took ds to school came home and felt sooooo tired so lay on sofa for a minute and woke up to phone ringing an hour later Blush never done that before im terrible at having naps feel a little better now though, havent been feeling too tired recently but maybe thats all about to change. Going to keep myself busy with the housework and ironing and then of to the park with ds after school if the sun decides to show his face :) Hope everyone has a nice day!

Lovemarmite · 02/07/2012 12:04

Morning,
Yes me anxious too! but as this is our first, I've nothing to compare it to and I'm trying to convince myself that I want to experience new things and so trying not to dread childbirth! OK, that sounds impressive, but when I look at my bump I have to confess that I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to manage it - the bump is huge and the rest of me isn't - gulp, splutter, help!

We're off for our 34 week scan this afternoon. A little anxious about it as our consultant sonographer was blunt last time but not in a good way, she seemed to be in a bad mood and so I hope she's happier today. Hope LO is okay too Hmm OK, I am super anxious obviously especially as I think she's just literally turned transverse again and am feeling kicks and prods out of my sides.

panpipe hope you had a good shower, agree, MILS are can be very odd, mine certainly lives in cuckoo land! :)

My feet are really feeling the extra weight and I think they're going to go flat soon - how's your feet doing?

tashaw28 · 02/07/2012 12:34

Vino yes that's exactly it, but can't bring myself to look at support socks yet Wink
Am also feeling anxious mainly because it's been almost 8 years since I gave birth naturally and I can't remember anything useful!!!!
Had a bad night last night, reflux at 4am and had to rest sitting up for a few hours till the alarm went off, so came home from school and went straight to bed till 11am! Felt great!!!

MrsMigginslovespies · 02/07/2012 13:01

Hello all,

Me too feeling anxious and bit stressed about how I'll manage. DH being really sweet saying I'll be great, but can't help worrying about it all. At times the responsibility overwhelmes me a bit. And he can't come yet again to today's antenatal due to YET ANOTHER BLOODY SPORTS event at school. The third in one week. It's crap actually, as he also now can't come to our last scan and is a bit gutted. Only two more days till the holidays is our mantra!

DDog being naughty and trashing lots of stuff because she's bored and can't go for walks yet after her op. Today, she's chewed the midwife's birthing CD case (cd ok) but I may have to buy a new one. This on top of shoes and other stuff. I wouldn't mind if she had nothing to play with, but she's TONS of toys of various kinds. Bad girl.

Raining and cold again here. Trying to get on and do some filing of papers, washing, ironing etc this afternoon before gettig things ready for DH birthday tomorrow. Am going to make him a nice choccy cake and wrap pressies etc.

Good luck with your scan too today Love. Let us know how you get on and hope the scanner is nicer to you. No need for that imho. I'm getting much stroppier in my old age and am definitely turning into my Mum for some things!

I bought some beautiful support stockings things from Boots in their maternity bit (look like those pop socks) for when we drive south next week and I'm sitting a lot. Blimey, they're tricky to get on, be warned, as I can't bend down easily and had to ask DH to help me! Once on, do actually help a bit with swelling etc. Have fun Wink!

Off to hospital now for scan etc. Back later and hope y'all have a nice afternoon. x

Lovemarmite · 02/07/2012 15:12

Hope your scan goes well too Mrsmiggins
Ddog sounds likes she's having a great time with her 'new' toys Wink and naughty DH, hope he makes it up to you!

Hoping to start listening to the Natal hypnotherapy CDs soon - 34 =2 = 4 weeks of playing a few times a week and then 2 weeks of daily listening Hmm apparently it's meant to help with birth anxieties, let's see!

Off for scan shortly.

Vinolover · 02/07/2012 15:25

Hope you have nice scans today marmite and MrsM! I'm very Envy

Sounds like we're all a bit anxious about these babies. I'm not sure if I prefer going in blind or knowing what to expect! I just want to know that everything is going to go well but unfortunately nobody can tell you that.

Well, I'm off to get ready for work :( Only 3 more shifts after this one though Grin

frillylemons · 02/07/2012 15:26

Oh Vino, I know how you feel. I had a really bad day yesterday (slept pants on Saturday) and as DH was going out in the evening, I ran upstairs after him and sobbed and sobbed saying how terrified of everything I was...it was pretty grim. He was lovely though. I feel better today and I think the sleep helped.

To be honest, my main fear is that something bad will happen to LO whilst she is still in utero. I know it's really daft and I needen't think that. PLEASE NO HORROR STORIES OF THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED TO PEOPLE. THAT WILL NOT HELP ME AT ALL!!! Achem, sorry about that!

Anyway. I'm getting my hair cut tonight and am going for a graduated bob like I used to have 2.5 years ago before DH wanted me to grow it (cut it last month). So that will (hopefully) make me feel lovely and nice :)

How are you all? Apart from scared Confused
