Hi all

Just thought I'd pop in and say hello as it's been a while! Not going to leave a proper message as I'm having a 'fed up of being pregnant' day and afraid anything I say will just be a moan!

Good luck to those having scans today, I'm also very jealous!!

Whiteangel · 02/07/2012 18:05

Hi all, who is the keeper of the facebook group? If I join you on there then you can read the article. Going to a feeding workshop at the hospital tonight. DH can't come so home I make a friend! Neck and shoulders still really sore. Possibly found somewhere for a pregnancy massage and made a docs appointment for Wed morning before my 36week midwife appointment.

ffscatmove · 02/07/2012 19:05

Hello everyone! Got back yesterday from 10th anniversary trip to Edinburgh - blimey haven't you all been chatty! Have distressed Dh & DCat with outbursts of laughter at the waxing posts Grin
Had a wonderful time - DH had planned & booked everything, including doing extra overtime shifts to pay for 2 nights at an insanely expensive lovely hotel which came with a bottle of champagne each night - I was v naughty & had 2 small glasses which made LO extremely lively! We brought the second bottle back to save for during after the birth Wink
Consequently I am feeling very positive & chirpy from all the relaxing time together and DH is also happy because he got to drink lots of whisky so it's good all round!

I can however sympathise with all the sore legs & cankles - I gave in and bought Scholl maternity compression stockings from Boots (3 for 2) weeks ago for work but am now wearing them whenever I am going to be up & about - they do seem to help! (esp walking up & down the hills of Edinburgh!)

Anyway, hope all scans / tests today go well!

susiegrapevine · 02/07/2012 19:20

Hey all. Did indeed go to gloucester yesterday. I drove there and dh drove back. Took ages to get back was so tired when we got back slept like the dead last night only to be rudley awoken this morn by terrible cramp!
poppy glad minipop is doing well.

Yeah justine am having a hb too as ds was quick less than 5hrs and he was my 1st not quiet as traumatic as yours. You do have to have a hospital bag incase you get transfered in but will also good to have everything you need in one place
33 weeks tmw so a little ahead of you and I have nothing ready.

Got my growth scan tmw. Really hope this baby is not too big dunno how I will cope after having a small one 1st time round.

Oh yeah wriggly babies judt hold both of there legs up the air stops most of the wriggling do this with one hand and wipe with the other. Its wriggly toddlers that are worse. Tho be careful with boys my 1st morn still in hospital with ds and I lifted his legs up to change him - he peed on his own head!! Felt sooo bad!!

MrsMigginslovespies · 02/07/2012 21:16

Evening all,

Well, scan went well thanks. All is perfectly normal and the right size and was lovely to seehim again (if only bits of him now as he's big!). Am in 50 percentile of size and he's pleased with everything which is great. Best of all, baby has turned over, so is now not back to back. Hurrah. And I finally have a birth plan as my chap here in Scotland hasn't heard back at all from Chelsea and Westminster so we're going for a VB and go from there. Which is fine as I've got my head round it all now. Antenatal however was nothing to write home about and DH missed nothing that I couldn't have either told him or looked up in my book. Oh well.

How did you get on Love?! Hope all ok too.

Whiteangel talk to Frilly about the facebook group.

Off for a strawberry tart and to wrap DH's pressies. Hope you all have a nice evening xx

ishopthereforeiam · 02/07/2012 22:38

Just realised I have no idea how to change a boy's nappy as have only ever changed female babies arghhhhhhhhhhh

OP posts:
The3Bears · 03/07/2012 07:35

It's not too bad ishop ds only peed twice on me and dp Grin Ive changed my nieces nappy before and found a boys was much easier!

NeedlesCuties · 03/07/2012 07:55

sniff<

I awoke this morning with a cold :( Nose which is blocked and runny, sore throat and sore head.

DS had this cold over the past few days and now I've caught it :( Going to be a loooong day with him being snotty and grumpy and me being the same. DH is working and the life of a SAHM doesn't slow down for colds and illness. Need to be out getting errands in the next hour or so.

Meh.

(just wanted a moan and to leave a post so I don't fall off the thread!)

(32+something weeks)

Westcountrylovescheese · 03/07/2012 07:59

Aw Needles poor you, hope you get time to rest.

Well second day of maternity leave for me and another long to do list.... humpfh Kitchen still not finished and should have cot and pram delivered today.

35 weeks today.

panpipe · 03/07/2012 08:24

West - snap: 35w today for me too. Envy at your mat leave already though, I'm so ready to finish now!

ffs sounds like you had a lovely time in Edinburgh despite all those hills. We went when I was about 10wks and Arthur's Seat almost killed me then! I think I'd need a winch now not compression socks!

My parents are going home today; they were only meant to stay Fri-Sun as mum was coming to the baby shower but dad ended up sanding down the remaining walls in the nursery that aren't going to be plastered. Bonus!

Just waiting for BabyCentre app to give me its weekly 9am update on how big and massively heavy baby is now!

hamncheese · 03/07/2012 08:43

Argh the thread wasn't in posts I'm on so it's been a few days!

Just catching up after being away. Had my friend from Australia over for the weekend, she is on a 4 month world travel trip and came up to us for a few days :) So we took her up the east coast where is absolutely pissed down constantly for the whole time. We went to Dunnottar castle... which is all the way down and back up steps in slippy rain so I had strangers warning me all the way down and up about falling and accidents etc only none of them bothered to mention that they were leaving because someone had broken their leg and it was closed. Could have saved me going all the way there and back by just saying it's closed grrrr! So we had to go back the next day (I needed pictures for research etc) where I proceeded NOT to break my leg or anything else. Actually feel pretty proud of myself to be clambering up hills to castles and such when only 5 weeks and 4 days to go Grin really wanted to be totally active til the end!

Anyhow I also now know I've had braxton hicks. I had been getting them when walking but didn't believe it was because I assumed it was just from the exercise but got one in the car yesterday I think. Is it like this for anyone else: rock hard bump but not sore on the bump, the soreness is from the stabbing low low down pain that comes at the same time?

Anyway hope you have all been well, will get back up to date with everyone now that home... not had a minute as saw our friend off at 11 last night now going out with Mum and book group this evening... no time to chill but making time for a quick bath before going out. Ah well, it's tiring but I'm glad to be busy as it takes away from the constant waiting.

:)

tashaw28 · 03/07/2012 09:21

Just wanted to pop on and moan, been feeling crappy last couple of days, eyes itchy, funny tummy, tired etc. moan moan moan...sorry, could do with going back to bed like I managed yesterday but am supposed to be meeting a friend for coffee at 10.15 and really don't wanna cancel. Think I'll go as I really want to buy a few bits in shops next door Starbucks.
Hope everyone else has a better day

33+2

frillylemons · 03/07/2012 09:21

Ahh Needles Sad That really sucks. Are you able to rest?

I'm waiting for my MW. She was meant to be here 20 mins ago Angry And I need to crack on to work! I thought if I booked a 9am appt she wouldn't have a chance to run late! Rude.

32 weeks today! Grin

frillylemons · 03/07/2012 09:22

Try not to overdo it, Tash Smile

The3Bears · 03/07/2012 09:26

Glad you had a nice trip ham, sounds like braxton hicks my bump just goes very hard and tense it doesnt feel painful in a way but does take your breath away and feels funny.

needles hope you and your ds feel better soon, try and get some rest x

Has anyone else had nosebleeds? Mine arent terrible need to run to the bathroom but I have to check my nose before leaving the house etc as dont want to be caught out, never had it in first pregnancy but know you can get them, very strange Confused.

Glad your scan went well Miggins

How nice of your dh ffscat very Envy

Hope everyones well today.

The3Bears · 03/07/2012 09:30

39 days to go eeek! Shock

Hope your midwife shows up soon frillyand hope you feel better soon tash :)

Westcountrylovescheese · 03/07/2012 09:56

Oh bugger! Just seen you all writing days out and not really thought about it... Until now... 35 days till due date. OMG!

The3Bears · 03/07/2012 10:02

Grin not long now west

ArtyJennie · 03/07/2012 10:07

I feel like I am going to be pregnant until the end of time! Time is moving so so slowly! 7 weeks left. Dd beaks up from school on thurs, I don't know how I'm gonna keep her busy- my movement is minimal because of pelvic pain.

The tesco delivery man is running late and I want to go for a nap.

Moany moan moan!

ArtyJennie · 03/07/2012 10:18

The tesco man didn't bring my dairylee spread! Noooooooooooo! I need it!!!!!

Westcountrylovescheese · 03/07/2012 10:23

That's one brave tesco delivery man!

3Bears, I'm off to lock myself into a cupboard...! Confused

ishopthereforeiam · 03/07/2012 10:34

oh thanks3bears that's reassuring! Had visions of being covered in pee for a looong time!

artyjennie I feel like I've been pg forever too! Esp as dd is only 18mo so people refer to me as the baby making machine Angry

Warning: rant / pity post ahead. Sooo tired, bad night sleep, then when I finally did fall asleep at about 3am I woke up at 3.30am with bad cramp in my leg. DD peed in the potty yesterday at nursery but hasn;t done so at home so feeling quite incompetent as nursery worker is clearly better at all of this than me!! Bumped the bumper of the car into a bollard while parking this morning (went to a sale that was meant to start at 10am but they started at 8am so totes waste of time too!). Bought the wrong pink cuff and the wrong trousers yesterday (had seen other ones and only realised when I got home). My brain has turned to mush and I am feeling completely incompetent Sad. Got the dentist this arvo and last time she saw me I'd just had dd so yep another person who will probably see me as the baby making machine.

Sorry all, as you were!

Lovemarmite · 03/07/2012 10:42

Good morning!
Wow it's been such a busy morning on here already and it's only 10.30!

Hope you feel better soon Needles pants to a cold!
Hope you feel better too Tash but get to the shops and have some fun too.

Scan yesterday went well too, although was very quick. LO is facing down in the correct position for 5.5 weeks time, although I'm sure she positioned herself like that just for the scan and then will be doing her transverse lying again soon Wink. In her position she wouldn't show us her face and so just her measurements were taken and it's obvious that they can't tell the sizes on the scan as she was all over the place compared to the last one which showed her to be big. This time she was on the small size but her weight was 4lbs 14 oz and all in the right weight apparently.

I think I get BH all afternoon - my tummy is often tight and I have to sit down a lot as there's also pelvic pain to boot.
I had a couple of night sweats last night which meant I woke up wet and feeling terrible, drained and tired. I've had a few over the pregnancy - anyone else having them too?
Apparently it's the hormones!

Yes to nosebleeds 3bears - had one whilst we out in a restaurant and the waitress came with lots of tissues. I almost died there and then as I was having a massive one and not had one like it since. My nose is always blocked up though and so always blowing it at night.

38 days to go, gulp Shock
