frilly hope you get a nap in during the day?

Sat here and dd napping with dh.. Dd teething, not sure what dh's excuse is lol.

Yesterday went from bad to worse, bumped into a van (luckily in v v v slow moving traffic) so no harm but slightly damaged van's bumper so that'll be cash down the drain. Cheer me up lunch with dh, he was on phone for work mostly then had to cut it early and take food to go as call from nursery that dd had a temperature as teething poor lil thing. Then I slammed my finger in the door. Ouch. On the upside today WILL be better Grin

Here's to the weekend ladies Wine and v impressed with those you who haven't touched a drop!

Ps forgot to ask, is anyone getting strongish pains at the bottom left / bottom right of bump? So strong that you can't move but I don't think they're contractions more like a muscular ache or something pulled / twisted?

Have had these over the last three days, once on tube and once driving which was a bit scary.

Westcountrylovescheese · 23/06/2012 13:52

Ishop, yes I've had pains like that, mostly getting in and out of bed. Feels muscular and have been putting it down to expanding bump over last few weeks and muscles feeling the strain. Goes again quickly though...

MrsMigginslovespies · 23/06/2012 14:14

Me too Ishop also ones that feel like a very strong and sore stitch. Not nice. Am assuming is more growing etc going on.

On a nice note, realised that it's been a year today that we first met our puppy Tess who was two weeks old at the time and like a tiny mole. We chose her, as we thought she seemed the most chilled at the time. Turns out, was the cheekiest!! Such a change in a year, but she's still gorgeous and naughty and I love my dog Smile.

MrsMigginslovespies · 23/06/2012 14:29

PS, finally uploaded a couple of puppy photos from last summer. Will put up some recent ones once I find the cable for my phone!

Lovemarmite · 23/06/2012 14:45

Glad everything is okay picture
Really useful knowing what happened as feeling rotten today myself.
LO decided to lie transverse and then has done a 90 degree turn and sitting oddly across my belly but with feet poking to the left hand-side but nearer the top now. Also had huge pains in the lower area under the belly, went sweaty, had to go on all fours hoping to relieve the pressure, cried as the stretching was unbearable whilst poor DH was trying to get breakfast and recover from his hard week at work.
And no sleep since 4 am!
So now, can't face doing anything at all

33 weeks today and counting the days now.
Hoping everyone's having a better day x

frillylemons · 23/06/2012 16:42

Phew Picture, do glad you're doing well Smile

Sorry to hear that Minipop has a poorly bottom Sad Is there a reason he is being left in a wet nappy for so long? Oh and are you able to BF him yet?

Ishop, I fell asleep again about 7 for a couple hours and have had a really nice, chilled day Grin

MrsM, I LOVE BAKEWELLS!! I swear I've started craving them Blush What's the recipe?

ffscatmove · 23/06/2012 18:29

Ishop I have had a few 'stitch' type pains recently, seem to happen at random but quite sore - makes me jump!
Have also had really uncomfortable groin pain the last few days and bump seems to be lower, am feeling 'nudges' in my bottom and a stretchy feeling across my pelvis - could this be baby starting to drop? Hmm Am 33 + 2 so seems a bit early and am just a bit anxious as we're off to Edinburgh on Wednesday for our wedding anniversary! Probably just being neurotic I'm sure!

Hope minipop feels better soon, having a sore bum must be miserable Sad

Feel I should contribute to the baking frenzy as I have a Herman the German friendship cake to make but I can't really be bothered! Blush

Happy weekend all!

susiegrapevine · 23/06/2012 19:28

Hey everyone have had a fab but tiring day today had party for ds's 2nd birthday. Turned out nice here so were able to have it in the garden with all his outdoor toys we bought him and family and a few other friends. Was really good. Still suffering with this cough tho defo going to docs on monday.

ishop I do have the best of both worlds work two days a week and dh works 3 days a week so we share that and the childcare and get the best of both while saving money on tax. Cos if I stayed home and dh just worked full time our take home pay would be less due to your tax free allowance! This only works cos we earn similar money tho.

picture glad to hear everything was ok in the end must have been scary there for a minute.

poppy sorry to hear minipop is not well even now when my ds cries from bad nappy rash it upsets me so I can't imagine how much worse it would be when they are really small!

Baby keeps putting his foot in my ribs which is really painful at least am assuming foot! I do get stitch type pain on lower right if I walk too fast!

Happy saturday!

quickchat · 23/06/2012 20:11

Hi Everyone. Tried in vain to catch up a bit but im too knackered to take it all in.
scottish my first was an emergency C-section. I had placenta previa which they thought had moved enough for birth but hadn't. Lost blood when waters went so rushed in.

The thought of it is the only bad part. For me it was quick (astonishingly quick), TOTALLY pain free and I actually loved the week in hospital as I bonded so well with DS and it was actually relaxing. I didn't find I was in pain unless I went over the 4 hours for pain relief. I quickly learned to just keep taking the meds every 4 hours and ringing them incase they had forgot as that way you feel nothing much.

With DD i desperately wanted to experience natural birth Hmm.

scottish I have experienced both. I wish they would give me a c-section this time Grin!

picture glad it all stopped. I bet being a MW and knowing all scenarios is a case of too much info!

Turns out im anemic so im on iron 3 times a day. Feel bloody awful. Palpitations, v v weak. Feel like I need an oxygen mask in the mornings.

Was all happy when they finally diagnosed what was wrong but then my doctor friend told me it would take weeks and weeks to kick in Sad. Tooo tired between underactive thyroid, amemia, 30 weeks PG and 2 small children. I dream about running away to a hotel for 10 weeks just to sleep!

Im packing up a bit to move house just now. Move in 6 weeks. I just want a skip! Start again.

ishop I liked your P&T. Great price too.

I know I had read other things but have forgotten them all already. Have a good weekend. x

ImissMiniPop · 23/06/2012 20:26

Ishop hope today got better for you.!

so, Minipop is on iv antibiotics which means he's got a horrible cannula back in his hand and is hooked back up to a big scary monitor again, he's having tests as they're not quite sure what's wrong.

On the plus side his sore bottom is looking better! :) we're test results due back tomorrow.

He's 34 weeks today. And 4 weeks on Monday. Weird having two ages.

He's not breastfeeding yet, but we're working on it. :o

WelshLadyCDF · 23/06/2012 20:44

Poppy - lovely to have a Minipop update, any idea when you might bring him home?

eightieshopaholic · 23/06/2012 20:59

We have our hospital visit tomorrow, any advice on what I should be asking?? thanks

ishopthereforeiam · 23/06/2012 22:17

Hi everyone!

poppy he's soooo strong and brave for such a lil thing, hope he gets better soon so the iv can come out.

80s we didn't get a hospital visit only for the ante natal class on labour but I wanted to know stuff like what to take (they said pillows), when to go in / what to do when labour starts, then lots about after birth like making sure they wouldn't take dd out of the room without dh or I (had been watching too much desperate housewives and theybhad a baby swap storyline!), and about how / when you can get pain relief, if any iPod docking stations in tbe room ( like I cared during labour! ) etc.

Sorry to hear lots of us getting the muscularains but relieved not just me! fffscat I've had awkward stabbing pains down there which I put down to baby moving and cervix thinning a bit?

ImissMiniPop · 24/06/2012 04:44

My god, the rain in central london at the mo is horrendous! Hope everyone's having an uneventful night, :)

MrsMigginslovespies · 24/06/2012 10:14

Imiss how are you both doing today? Sorry to hear he's back on a drip and hope he improves really fast. He's doing so well and is a real little trooper, bless him Smile.

Quickchat, hope you're feeling ok today. Sorry to hear you've been so tired and hope the iron kicks in quicker than they've said it will.

Had a play about this morning with our Angelcare monitor that arrived on Friday. Looks so good and secure, am really pleased with it. Think the only bit of kit we need to get now is a Groblind for extra blackness in the nursery behind the curtains and so we can take it with us when we travel. But not essential at the mo but will get next month.

Exciting news yesterday: for some reason, DWP have approved my Maternity Allowance claim after all. They originally rejected it, but I appealed and they've said yes! So pleased, as really thought I was done for. Hurrah, makes a big difference.

Frilly (and others if interested), here is my Bakewell Pudding recipe. Tis v nice (I cheated and used ready made pastry!). Afraid it's in Imperial measurements though, so hope your scales convert...

7 1/2 oz puff pastry
4 oz caster sugar
2 oz softened butter
3 eggs, beaten
2oz ground almonds
1/4 teaspoon almond essence
4 generous tablespoons raspberry jam

***

  1. Roll out pastry and line a 1 1/2 pint shallow pie dish
  2. Spoon over jam onto bottom of pastry
  3. Beat eggs and add sugar, ground almonds, butter and almond essence
  4. Pour over mixture onto jam and pastry
  5. Bake at 200 (180 fan oven) for about 30 minutes or until filling is set. Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes, as the jam goes nuclear when heated!

Enjoy. Smile. xx

Lovemarmite · 24/06/2012 12:08

Poppy hope minipop is doing better today x
Happy Sunday everyone

frillylemons · 24/06/2012 18:34

MrsM, you are wonderful!!

Well, I am feeling very virtuous today Grin DH and I had a super lazy afternoon on TW sofa watching movies, then he helped me change the sheets and then he popped out so I: hoovered and mopped downstairs, washed up, put on some washing, put away the clean washing and plucked my scary eyebrows!! I even found time to put a bag of peas to rather uncomfortable fanjo!! Mmmmm...peas for dinner Wink

How're you all?

MrsMigginslovespies · 24/06/2012 18:42

Frilly, your day sounded a lot like mine (except mine hasn't yet involved peas Wink ). Supper in t'oven, ironing done, sheets about to be changed when I have the strength, visited friends and their new baby, DH doing yet more reports, fed dog, walked dog, cleaned up after dog. Now feeling bit sick and tired and want my nice (clean) bed.

DDog gets spayed tomorrow and I feel so sad for her. Would have loved to have had puppies, but need to be sensible, as we live in school, I'm preggers and we don't have any spare space for puppies to, worse luck.

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend and the weather hasn't been too much of a disappointment. xx

frillylemons · 24/06/2012 19:02

MrsM, my Ddog was spayed last year...it was sad! Mainly cause I was worried about her. She was fine though Smile

TMI warning: I have hideously baaaad windy pops at the moment...I mean baaaaaaaad and I don't know what's causing them Sad Any one else or just me and my freaky insides?

ishopthereforeiam · 24/06/2012 21:11

No wind here frilly but v constipated (have been throughout the pg)! Did the peas work?

Good luck with ddog tomorrow mrsm

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

OP posts:
frillylemons · 24/06/2012 21:22

Peas worked a treat, for about half an hour!! Need to grab them again...yay for throbbing fanjos!! My DSis is 39 weeks preggo with her first and she's got the same prob as me now! We keep texting each other with TMI questions Smile It's nice to go through it with her! Earlier we were discussing the excessive watery discharge that makes you think you've wet yourself. Nope, no shame here Grin

tashaw28 · 24/06/2012 22:07

Ha ha frilly I have the same thought with the discharge all the same and keep having to run to toilet!!! Wink

Poppy really hope minipop is doing better today xx

Have had a proper nesting weekend! Been to mothercare and bought cot mattress and a few other bits, made DH go in the loft and get everything down and have started washing stuff already!
Taken 4 big sacks to the charity shop, and sorted half the nursery out, feeling very smug and proud of myself!!!
Other news is think the baby has moved to transverse which isn't great, but on the plus side my SPD has gone as the pressure is off the pelvis!
Hope everyone else had a great weekend, being a football widow tonight, yawn, boring
32 today

susiegrapevine · 24/06/2012 22:59

frilly i totally get you with the wind tmi warning but when i was pregnant with ds i did a fart that smelt soooooo bad i had to leave the room! Yes it was that bad!! Was lying in bed and had to go into the living room and tell dh not to go in the bedroom for a while! Afraid its hormones that do it!

Had a lazy day today just laid about the house and played with ds till about 4 then when to the pub with mil and sil and my mum dad and sis and ds and my grandad and niece, think thats everyone lol! Anyway went to the pub for a meal. Then came home again accept each time we went i had to drive twice as mil, sil and niece staying with us and pub 5 mins from my mum's but only 5 seats in the car so no room for all of us! Feel like i am having some bh right now very uncomfy in my fanjo!! Maybe i need peas!

Yay got tmw and tues off work which is the whole week for me tho am gonna go to docs as still have this horrid cough and dh says i have been weezing at night so guess i have a chest infection boo!

Westcountrylovescheese · 25/06/2012 07:39

Not happy here at all. There are downstairs issues

Blush

I feel my innocence has gone. There is no pain and I might not have noticed but (sorry TMI) wiping just wasn't right so had a 'proper clean'. Please tell me I don't have to show the doctor my bottom. Sad

Anyone else had this issue? I am not happy...
