Thanks ham feeling much better now, I think tbe lack of sleep doesn't help. Hope your house moving goes quicker than ours (!) you're so right it's all v stressful and I have a huge irrational fear of being gazumped!

I finally sorted dd's old clothes out today Grin Grin Grin feel like I'm catching up with you organised ladies! So now all neutral stuff put aside for baby, a whole heap of stuff gone to charity and eBay. So it's official after this one no more babies!!!

Morning everyone, rumours So glad your okay, and thank god you got it checked out. Hope your appt goes well today. Good advice on keeping an eye on ourselves aswell it's so easy to just brush something off as nothing when it could be something serious, will keep this in my mind now.

Feeling alot better today the weird feeling low down has gone but im sure he is lower now bump felt v funny yesterday even dp commented on it, 59 days to go now so not too long and I cant wait! Grin
Is anyone up to anything good today?

Lovemarmite · 13/06/2012 10:08

Rumours glad your leg is getting sorted now, and thanks for the heads up. Tbh, I have a few aches and pains that I didn't know I could get and so will mention them all to my mw tomorrow, she'll love me!

3bears glad your pain has subsided and hope it doesn't come back.

Had a bit of a barny with my mum last night. Has anyone found that women who had babies a while ago only really remember the good things and none of the problems, the hip aches, the constipation etc? Both MIL, mum and my BIL's mother all talk about the joys and how exciting it all is, how wonderful the time is etc. The last two phone calls with my mum resulted in me telling her the truth about how I was actually feeling - achey, tired from not sleeping, breathless, can't walk for long as my legs ache etc... oh dear! I got back a retort of 'well most women do it a lot younger than you and so you can't expect your old body to take it all' Hmm, I've been told that I'm fitter than most 20 somethings by doctors and so oooooo! Not talking to these barmy older women now about anything pregnancy related as they certainly have rose tinted glasses on. I can't wait for the hormone that kicks in after birth that makes you forget it all, sounds like it works :)

Sorry, don't mean to rant but ooo!

We have a bit of sun on the south coast and so I'm trying to chop the bushes back a little this morning as the postie got drenched as he came through yesterday. Oh, and then it's raining later this afternoon, for a change!

Hope everyone has a great day.

panpipe · 13/06/2012 10:24

Lovemarmite I've been getting the opposite. MIL has gleefully told me all about her post-natal depression on many occasions Hmm. I might try to time her visits when baby arrives to try to avoid coinciding with the 'baby blues' that you're supposed to get as she'll probably start saying that it's PND and how much she knows about that etc etc etc...

Glad you're ok and getting treated rumours.

I'm feeling better this morning than I have done for the last few days. Sun's shining (at least for now) and I managed to only wake up twice last night :)

Lovemarmite · 13/06/2012 10:36

panpipe oh I wouldn't like to hear it and have someone watching for baby blues! My MIL didn't believe SILs depression and passed it off that she just couldn't cope with being a mother (wow, how rude! Shock) Talk to the hand, lady!
A while ago I was trying to develop a thicker skin and I've realised that through this pregnancy it's started to happen, yippee!

frillylemons · 13/06/2012 10:51

Rumours, that's so good that they took you seriously!!

Hi MrsM! I'm doing a lot better thanks. Well, I'm cheerful etc and DH and I are solid once more Smile

Only annoying thing is I wake up every time I turn over because it is such an effort to heave myself into a new position! I think I need a winching system Grin

Work is stressing me out. No social workers in today, so our small admin team are having to pick up the mess Angry very Angry frillylemons!! Well, more annoyed than Angry but calming myself by eating fresh strawberries and banana Smile

Everyone having a good day?

geekette · 13/06/2012 11:00

Sun's out equates good day, any day in my books Grin

susiegrapevine · 13/06/2012 11:16

geekette think we share the same due date??

marmite glad i'm not the only one rowing with my mum! Its not nice especially when you are feeling all vunerable and hormonal! I feel the same as you and i am in my 20's (just)

Just realised one of the pressies we order for ds's birthday is not coming until week comencing 02/07!!! Bloody annoyed on wedsite it said up to 14 working days so i figured it would come 2 or 3 days late at most and would hopefully be here on time! Noooot! If it arrives that week it will be nearly 20 working days!!! Well at least he will have all his other pressies still annoyed they should not say up to 14 working days if its more like 20 or more arrg! Just another stress i don't need.

ds woke up last night and even tho dh bless him got up (didn't expect him to as he works today) i could not sleep for ages as my mind was wuring away and kept thinking about everything and was getting a bit distressed. Got up to wee after a couple of hours and and managed to get back to sleep tired again today tho.

Sorry everyone am always moaning on here!

geekette · 13/06/2012 11:45

Apparently so susie! Are you expecting to be on time? I have been told by dad (GP) and my consultant, that I will most likely be two weeks early which doesn't really suit me.

Re: Mums: I am sooooo happy my mum is a GP too. My dad trottles out all the nonsense on how i am just moaning because it is my first so I am looking out for every twinge. I actually catch him reminding himself that he has never been pregnant before.

Whereas mum goes in a corner and gives the real advice on pillows Grin. you need to love parents. Can't imagine I will be one soon (hopefully) and be just as barmy.

susiegrapevine · 13/06/2012 12:07

geekette my 1st was 10 days early so perhaps early again but i don't mind.

hamncheese · 13/06/2012 12:23

That sucks marmite but they are probably just jealous, plus as a (previously) fit 24 year old I can tell you that I feel like a beached whale and haven't felt good since three days after getting our positive and the MS kicking in! Not that it's sickness now but its always something and I doubt anything to do with age, just the crappiness of pregnancy. I'm still kind of shocked at how much hard work it is, which is probably down to rose tinted spec wearers you mention! It's like being ill for 9 months! Luckily for me my Mum's MS was so bad she thought she was dying and even the memory erasing hormone didn't dull that for her so she is pretty sympathetic Grin

Sorry to hear your family are being a pain susie it's horrible to have something like that on your mind. Hope they come to their senses soon... you are the one who is allows to be hormonal not them!

Glad to hear many are feeling and sleeping better though, I had another good night yay :)

Just updated our baby book... don't know if anyone else is as anal as I am but have been keeping a little scrap book of baby stuff since got pregnant. Just went through it from the start making me all teary eyed and a little nauseous being reminded of the sickness blegh. DH hasn't contributed since week 24 so will be forcing it on him this evening. Put our 3d scan pics in it today. We are about half way through the scrapbook so hopefully it will be the baby book too and go right through.

Thinking now of going into town for a bit of shopping as am realising my bump no longer fits into my maternity leggings (need a size M now...ahhh) and all my long tops for over said leggings aren't long enough at the front due to bump. This is practically my wardrobe now maternity leggings and long top so comfy. Yes so shopping but probs not for long as I have so little shopping stamina and my feet get so sore.. sad times Wink

Anyone else up to anything nice today?

MrsMigginslovespies · 13/06/2012 12:30

Hi all,

Just popping on briefly to sayI'm 31 weeks today. Tis bonkers to think the baby will hopefully be here in 9-ish. That's now single figures. Eek. And I've still no nursery... Confused.

Am having a busy day getting things sorted for my trip to London tomorrow for my girly weekend. Can't wait to see DSis and other friends, plus finally get some good shopping done in Peter Jones etc. Phew!

Feeling achy and bit tired now having got up early early as was STARVING and desperate for toast and nutella, then cracked on with hoovering, tidying, washing etc. Then had long dog walk by river, wrapped up pressies for Father's Day, and now having a sit down, as bump is complaining and sore! Think I might take myself out for a sandwich as bored of my fridge contents!

Sunny-ish here too, but not very warm. Gutted that a lot of my nice summery maternity things are not getting worn as it's so cold still. Another task today is to go into Next to complain about their shoddy maternity cardi I bought that after three wearings and one cold wash looks like a bobbly dish rag.

Have a nice day y'all, waves to all. xx

panpipe · 13/06/2012 17:54

Enjoy your shopping expedition ham! I've just done a bit of eBaying and got a bundle of 5 dresses for £10. Second hand things are vastly outweighing new purchases for this pregnancy and baby

quickchat · 13/06/2012 19:19

Hi, OMG you ladies move fast. I was part of Jan10 thread when I had DD and I seriously don't remember it going as fast as this!!

I tried very hard to catch up since I said hello on Page 2 (I think) but it is impossible. The only things I remember/seen was a poppy having her baby 2.5 months early Shock but sounds like he is doing well which is great.

rumours having a blood clot. Glad they caught that, what a fright you must have had.

Im having a bit of a rough week. Been feeling horrible since hitting 3rd trimester. I have an under active thyroid diagnosed after my 2.5 yr old DD.

The levels haven't been steady and the exhaustion and other symptoms can be debilitating at times especially with 2 LO's. Anyway, up until now I've been fine but since week 26/27 I get up in the morning feeling breathless, weak and generally can't get up without needing to sit down again. By the evening I can walk for 45 mins or swim 30/40 lengths no problem.
Told Doc this at high risk clinic as I thought my tablets were either too high or low but she listened into my heart and was a bit concerned about a murmur Shock.
I had an ECG there and then and today went for a heart ECHO (like an ultra sound on the heart) and I have a 24 hr heart monitor taped on at the moment. I feel a wee bit paranoid!

Im probably fine but hormones tend to make you over react to everything Wink.

I saw the updated list and realised I hadn't put my details on.
Im 35, originally from Edinburgh but have moved to East Lothian last year. 3rd baby, Don't know the baby's sex (suspense is killing me this time) and will be at Edinburgh Royal infirmary.

Im sure by the time I look again I will be even more lost with everyone else. Im mainly looking forward to seeing people going into labour and the new baby's details coming up. I really enjoyed that part last time.....I also need some boy's names Idea's! Going with Emma for a girl - I think.

McBaby · 13/06/2012 19:35

SPD - ow ow ow. Have had symptoms since before 20 weeks now 32 weeks and today has been the worst day by far. Can hardly make it to the toilet without crying as walking us so painful. No idea why it's so bad today as have done nothing different!

Sorry just needed to moan!

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

MrsMigginslovespies · 13/06/2012 19:37

Hi Quickchat, waving to you from the Borders (where not a lot has happens re maternity stuff and which I've moaned about before!). Hope you're getting looked after well tonight and aren't too anxious about it all. But still scary stuff! And congratulations on your baby!

Have had a crazy busy day getting lots of stuff sorted for London etc and am now knackered and can hardly walk. Good job I get to sit on a train a lot tomorrow.

Think I had my first BH tonight. Tummy went really hard and felt odd for about 30 seconds. V odd, but quite exciting!

Hope you're all having a nice evening and get some good sleep later x

eightieshopaholic · 13/06/2012 20:05

quickchat · 13/06/2012 20:28

Hi mrsMigginslovespies. Did you not hear the news? Pregnant people don't need to try on clothes anymore, just go online. Where have you been?

Oh Yes, Just because you are shaped like a potato and your body is rapidly changing so fast YOU don't recognise yourself doesn't mean you might like to try on some FECKING clothes. Just look at some 6ft model with a non existant bump and go for it, pick that.

Also, people under 5'3, historically known as 'Petite' don't get pregnant anymore. Either that or they are not allowed to get pregnant anymore but either way, we don't actually exist.

Let me enlighten you into my last two shopping trips for maternity clothes.

Went to the Fort in Edinburgh, has all the usual high street shops who, in 2009 and 2007 when I had my last two babies had huge sections of maternity wear. Went to NEXT "we have moved our maternity section to Aberdeen". For those of you unfamiliar with North of the Border, Edinburgh - Aberdeen is roughly a 4 hour drive on a good day.

Went to Dorothy Perkins " we have moved our maternity to Straiton"
Only around a 40-45 minute drive away but with 2 kids in tow and a 35 min drive home in the other direction, not handy. Aslo, NOBODY lives there so why is it out there?

Went to H&M and asked "where is your maternity" replied "oh we have down sized it, it is those two rails over there". After a quick look at the two rails of extra long trousers I then went to New Look. "we have downsized our maternity and don't do Petite anymore". OK, starting to get ratty now.

The following week I went to JoJo Mama Bebe Near Harvey Nics, Edinburgh. Unless you are after a shmock and you are 6ft, forget it.

Then, I remembered Mama's and Papas in Craigleith Grin. Ok I had driven an hour into town to JoJo's and OK I had two moany kids in the car who would then have a good 1.5 hr drive home to East Lothian but hey, I was DESPERATE and they did do very very flattering smart, but expensive maternity jeans, petite and everything......................You know already don't you.........."oh we got rid of our maternity wear, you can order online though" Que rant at unsuspecting and very disinterested shop assistant with the full story as above. Got in car and cried. Actually cried.

Angry

So you see MrsMiggins it's not because you are in the Borders, No, it's because you don't need clothes when you are pregnant now. Just go to Mothercare and buy PJ bottoms, a Mr Bump T-shirt and stay at home freak!

hamncheese · 13/06/2012 21:33

mcbaby that sounds hellish... hope it eases up soon!

That is so crap quickchat ! I noticed in Glasgow that not as many shops have maternity sections anymore. New Look in town hasn't and it is huge but they do have a bit at Glasgow Fort and apparently a big section at Braehead. Also H&M Buchanan street has a decentish maternity area (and the one on Princes St in Edinburgh was okay too I found.) So if you are going to be in the West then there are a few places to try. Not sure about if next have maternity in Glasgow, know Buchanan Galleries doesn't but there is one on Argyle St and also the one at the Fort so they might. Mind you, with only a little over 8 weeks to go I'm reluctant to buy anything else maternity...

Must say I've gotten practically all my maternity clothes from H&M but a lot of it just from the normal women's section which can work out just trying things on til you find things that flatter the bump.

Um... anyone else experiencing sharp pains really low down, like cervix low? Ones that make you wince a bit? Also coupled with draggy period pains low on bump. Everything else feels fine with me and baby though so not too worried at the moment.

tashaw28 · 13/06/2012 22:10

rumours glad you're feeling better, sounds v scary.
quick sorry but that made me laugh as I had similar experience and I live in London!! 'Only 5ft4 and usually v thin and all the maternity clothes in everyshop I went into were too long by a mile and much too big, even when they did do a size 8 it was still too big! Stupid sizing.
Had my MW check today, finally after a 14 week hiatus, and apparently it's head down, although due to my previous breech child I am reluctant to believe them until I see for myself at my 36 week consultant appt! However she did interestingly say that they should be happy for me to labour inthe water even though I'm going for a vbac, and in fact she did say I could birth there but thinik i'd rather be out for the birth, so delighted though as was always my dream to labour in water!

fairtradelu · 13/06/2012 22:19

Ham I'm having exactly the same thing. Started getting sharpish pain every now and then pretty low down and have had really bad period-pain-like acheage around bottom of bump for last hour or so. I went to pregnancy yoga this evening so am wondering if overstretching has set it off? It is really uncomfortable though and like the worst period pain aching I ever got (although I think I did get off lightly in that department compared to others).
Does anyone know what this is and if we should be worried?!

Missingpate · 13/06/2012 22:21

Yes I am feeling pains like that and was wondering if I should worry. Bump feels so heavy and achy a lot too, esp if I've done a fair amount of walking. Get a lot of leg cramps at night too and starting to struggle sleeping and have been seriously emotional lately! I think all my symptoms have decided to hang on till now I'm in the third trimester.
It' great to follow everyone's news glad everyone is ok

MrsMigginslovespies · 13/06/2012 22:32

Ha quick, so with you. So disappointing and I seriously think there's a gap in the market for clothes. I've also had that sore low pain, esp if I've done too much (like today), and I can hardly move now.

Off to bed and to stop hogging the thread today. Excited about my trip, but already know I'm going to miss DH and DDog (soppy git that I am!). x

ffscatmove · 13/06/2012 22:34

I keep getting the cervix-type pain ham & fairtrade and occasional low achiness - I think it's just baby shifting about in my pelvis, seems to go away with a change in position so far.
quickchat I sympathise re: thyroid - I was hypothyroid pre-pregnancy but seem to have done o so far - I had a bad spell at the end of the 1st trimester but have only needed 1 dosage increase so far so fingers crossed. The tiredness is like nothing else (even pregnancy tiredness!). Poo about the ECG/ECHO etc - I'm sure they're just being careful so try not to worry, put your feet up and have a Brew!
I've ended up buying non-maternity clothes as well - Asda had some good stretchy maxi dresses that seem quite flattering and New Look had some shorter ones that are good either with or without leggings so goof for the shorter lady! I decided I wanted some stuff I could wear post-pregnancy that wasn't 'maternity wear'!
First NCT class tonight - was really good, even DH enjoyed it & found it useful so that's a relief - was worried he'd refuse to come after the first one Grin
