Hi!

Thought I would start this thread as I found out I was pregnant on Saturday and a few of you were saying you had also found out this weekend!

Do come and share!

Got an appointment with my GP today at 9:40. I imagine it would of been sooner but obviously due to the double bank holiday the earliest it could be is today. I just want to get the ball rolling. I'm so paranoid I am going to MC but I was the same with dd. Everyone knew by 10 weeks last time! That was because my dating scan ended up being at 9 weeks 5 days. Different GPs surgery this time round so everything may end up being later.

I've already told two people. I was going to be having kittens but I don't feel I should have them anymore, as two cats + dd and newborn dc seems like a recipe for disaster. So I have told a friend and SIL both of whom knew I was getting the cats so couldn't just turn round and say I didn't want them, it isn't true, I've bought all the bloody stuff for them! (Needless to say before I got BFP)

Just got to speak to SIL in person properly as its her friend I was supposed to be having the cats from and I think she is scary but I am going to offer the food and bits and pieces I have bought by way of apology.

Jesus this is a bit of an essay! How are you ladies today anyway?

BackPackBackPack · 06/06/2012 09:54

Good Luck at the GP's Danny.

I'm also paranoid I'm going to MC or that the pregnancy tests were wrong and I'm not really pregnant, I never felt like this with DD. I can't wait until the scan just to put my mind at ease or to tell me the truth.

We have just told MIL. DD overheard us so she keeps asking "wheres the baby? whens it coming?" and looking down my top to try and see the baby.

I don't feel so sickly today but I've stopped drinking coffee as that makes me feel sick.

DanyTargaryen · 06/06/2012 12:02

GP reckons I'm due 30th Jan, but I know my dates better than he does but I am sure I will be told another date at the dating scan.

DanyTargaryen · 06/06/2012 12:02

I.E I know I SHOULD be due 3rd/4th Feb x

tummytickler · 06/06/2012 14:01

oooh Dany I would love to find out I was further along than I am! Even if it is just a couple of days! Glad your gp appointment went well.

backpack your going to have a lot of 'when is the baby here' 's before the big day Grin
I still haven't told anyone. Still terrified I will m/c and I am the sort of person that likes to deal with that kind of shitty stuff alone/with dh. It still feels too good to be true, as though I am pushing my luck a bit as I already have 4 healthy dc.

Coffee makes me want to puke, but can still wolf done very strong tea!

freerangelady · 06/06/2012 14:23

Hi people,

Dany, I have my first doc's appt too tomorrow. I reckon I'll be around the 3rd/4th feb too but I'd love to be earlier!

What happens at the doctors?

We've told both sets of parents for practical reasons (in - laws are sheep farmers so have to stay away from some stuff) and I work on my parents farm so will need to stay away from chemicals and sprays and stuff. Although doesn't help that I spilt creosote in my car a few months ago and the damn thing stinks - I just cannot get the smell out.

I worry all the time too. Friend miscarried at 9 weeks last week and I felt so bad for her. She'd told all our friends cos we all guessed at a hen do but that I think made it so much harder for her.

Still feel absolutely fine apart from waking up bang on the dot at 5.30am every blimmin day. And def gone up a bra size!

BackPackBackPack · 06/06/2012 14:42

Tummy I'm the same with coffee but love my strong tea :) .

My sickness is worse today, I can't make some juice for DD without vomiting so DD has water until DP comes home, which shes not happy about. Aswell as the beef made me vomit. I had severe sickness with DD so hope this time it eases off.

FRL At my GP's appointment my GP just referred me to Midwives and an obstetrician as I will be classed as high risk pregnancy through my own health problems.

happymonkey13 · 06/06/2012 15:31

Hi,
Can I join too? I found out over the weekend that I am pregnant - it is our first and we've been trying since January so very excited but nervous in case anything goes wrong. The Clearblue Digital test said 2-3 weeks so I guess I am 4-5 weeks officially. Feeling very tired but not sick yet, thank goodness. However, I am going on a school residential trip (I'm a teacher) in a few weeks and worried about hiding pregnancy symptoms from lovely but gossipy colleagues!

BackPackBackPack · 06/06/2012 15:39

HI happymonkey Congratulations :)

I take it is quite normal to feel nervous as most people on this thread is nervous about something going wrong.

freerangelady · 06/06/2012 15:47

Thanks Backpack.

Hi Happymonkey - we'd been trying for our first since Jan too!

DanyTargaryen · 06/06/2012 15:50

its more the fact i know he is wrong cause i came home and looked up the dates and to have an edd of 30th Jan, my cycle would be 26 days and its not its 30 days if not 31.

Discowomb · 06/06/2012 21:31

Hi, can I join you? My second is due mid Feb, found out this morning. Just pondering how different it will be this time. Grin

whatsinthebagangelos · 06/06/2012 21:33

Disco womb - fab name! Welcome and congratulations x

marshmallow2468 · 07/06/2012 10:15

Hi,

Three tests confirm that I am indeed upduffed, and I reckon I'm due early Feb, so thought I'd come and join you ladies. Hello! It's my first, and took four months of trying. I'm very, very nervous, which I'm sure is to be expected. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

LimeLeafLizard · 07/06/2012 10:24

Hello, can I join? I got my BFP on Tues and it still hasn't really sunk in yet. Due date would be 12 Feb.

Lots of people on this thread already!

whatsinthebagangelos · 07/06/2012 18:53

Hi marshmallow and line Smile congrats and welcome x x

Have we all had a good day?

Told my manager today. She was thrilled which made it very lovely Smile feels better knowing I'll be supported at work over the next few weeks.

How are you feeling everyone?

OP posts:
Discowomb · 07/06/2012 21:38

I'm fine but only 4 weeks down, so don't expect anything! I had a fairly symptom free pregnancy first time - hoping for a repeat of that! Booked into GP for the 18th and keen to get the ball rolling, because despite seeing GP at 5 weeks last time, I stil didn't get booked in with the MWs until 14 weeks. I'm looking forward to being more relaxed and knowledgeable (hopefully!) this time. Grin

Hope plenty more join us.

LookAtHerGo · 07/06/2012 21:48

Hello, can I join the gang please?

Very faint positive on Tuesday, getting stronger ones yesterday and today. :) still not quite believing it, but there are 5 a couple of +ve tests in my possession Grin

I have a DD who will be 9 months in a couple of days, this was planned as we've been not using contraception, and are very happy about it.

I did have HG with my DD, so I'm hoping that I can avoid it this time, and I'm not sure quite how far along I am as periods still not regular, am bf DD still, so I'm between 4 and 6 weeks I think. I'm hoping for a sticky bean and no sickness.

Docs appointment next Friday as I wanted to wait a little while, but can't wait too long. Still have midwives number in from last time, and we ring mw direct, so I'll be able to call her myself, but need the docs for booking the scan.

LimeLeafLizard · 07/06/2012 22:01

Disco you are the same as me, timing wise, then. I don't have any symptoms yet, either. I had annoyingly persistant nausea last time - still puking on my due date. Maybe I should book the GP then.

whatsin, great that your manager is so supportive. It is good to have someone you can tell if you're not feeling great.

LimeLeafLizard · 07/06/2012 22:03

Hello Look! You must be organised, with midwife on speed dial!

LookAtHerGo · 07/06/2012 22:33

Thanks LimeLeafLizard :) nah, I'm more like disorganised having not taken her number off from last time. But to be fair I have popped in to show her my DD a couple of times since she was born, my mw was fabulous, I do hope she's not gone somewhere else in the last 2 months since I saw her!

BackPackBackPack · 08/06/2012 17:05

Welcome and Congratulations to all of the new people :)

My sickness is getting worse today. I couldn't even brush my teeth without vomiting :(

Hope everyone else is having a good day :)

Sirenetta · 08/06/2012 17:15

Me too, BackPack. A little worse every day. So horrid. The only thing that works for me is staying flat on my back. Am working at home today (phew) but can't say it's that productive.

Hope you feel better. The hardest part is putting on a brave face, I think - not just the symptoms themselves. :(

whatsinthebagangelos · 08/06/2012 17:46

Sorry backpack and co that your sickness is so awful. Can gp give you anything?

Left work early today as nearly fell asleep at my desk. Hit me like a train. Thank god for time owing!
