Hi!

Thought I would start this thread as I found out I was pregnant on Saturday and a few of you were saying you had also found out this weekend!

Do come and share!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
noblegiraffe · 10/06/2012 11:41

Oh, I see, lookathergo, sorry, thought you were confused about the digital test. In my experience at the dating scan they will ask for your date of last period, date the pregnancy from the scan and then look at you and ask you if you are really sure of your dates because the scan says otherwise. Then they date the pregnancy from the scan. My digital test says that I was 3+ weeks pregnant only 4 and a half weeks after my LMP which tallies with when I think I conceived meaning I'm going to have midwives thinking I can't count again!

LookAtHerGo · 10/06/2012 11:44

Sorry, I was feeding LO and expected to be there a lot longer hence the short reply. The CBD says 2-3 which puts you 'at approx 4-5 weeks' i think that's about right for what SWI happened and EWCM I had, I could of course be wrong, but my cycle would suggest I'm a bit over 6 weeks, which is entirely possibly, but I don't feel that's right. I'll speak to the doc, who will probably date me at my LMP even if I explain how irregular I've been and am still bf. I just don't want to go to the scan and be told I'm 2 weeks less than I think IYKWIM I'd rather get told I was further along!

I've have the odd niggling ache and pain too, but not too bad whatsin I think a lot of people do. But do speak to someone if you are concerned.

freerange I also did a poundshop cheapie alongside the CBD this morning and the line was there almost straight away :)

So far I've only had a very very mild tinge of nausea that went quite quickly, weird because last time I was heaving by 4 weeks! I do hope I'm lucky this time.

LookAtHerGo · 10/06/2012 11:47

Ah, cross post there, I was writing that and didn't see your reply. :) looks like my scan will be in about 6 weeks then :) yay, only 6 weeks to wait .... Hopefully it won't be too much of a problem having a scan at what I reckon will be 10 weeks, I mean I could totally be wrong, I really hope I am actually 6 weeks, but I don't think so! Mind you last time I was wrong, my dating scan put me 5 days earlier than I thought, so who knows. Time will tell. :)

whatsinthebagangelos · 10/06/2012 12:38

Thanks all, you have reassured me Smile

I feel compelled to do another test, too, just to be sure, it doesnt seem real. However I also have The Tiredness. It was DH's turn to lie in this morning but I just lay on the sofa and dozed through Peppa Pig. Feel like going back to bed now.

QueenOfTheDrama · 10/06/2012 17:00

Know what you mean about it not seeming real, I've been testing twice a day to make sure the line is still there! and will probably continue doing so until my tests have run out. Just been for a drive out to Wales, a walk and lunch with DH - just got home and am absolutely knackered, I'll be asleep by 7pm at this rate Confused

freerangelady · 10/06/2012 17:32

I've been back to bed this afternoon - again!!

Not sure how i'll get through the next few weeks if I stay this tired!

traceofinsanity · 10/06/2012 20:27

I've also been feeling that it can't all be real, especially as I'd not been getting any symptoms at all. Was going to buy another test today, but then the sickness and tiredness hit me! Sickness gone now though and am consoling myself with a second slide of carrot cake (well, 2 of my 5 a day are in there after all). I've also been feeling really grumpy today. I was a right moody cow little short tempered throughout my last pg, as DH regularly reminds me. Really trying to be nice, but it's not easy Blush

noblegiraffe · 10/06/2012 21:16

My boobs hurt so occasionally I give them a little nudge just to check they are still sore to reassure myself. Must remember not to do that when I go back to work tomorrow.

LPR · 10/06/2012 22:23

Just found out on Saturday. Due date is 14th Feb. Quite shocked. Haven't slept well since as everything keeps going round in my head. x

QueenOfTheDrama · 10/06/2012 22:29

Congrats LPR Smile I haven't been sleeping too well either even though I'm constantly knackered! I've been waking up in the morning wondering if I've dreamt it all!

noble - snap! Keep giving my boobs a good poke just to check!

trace I'm a bit moody too and also quite emotional - breaking down in tears for no reason at all on Friday was what prompted me to test early as its so unlike me usually!

BackPackBackPack · 11/06/2012 07:29

Congratulations LPR

Noble my boobs are really sore aswell. I keep knocking them to check and make sure they still are.

I've been breaking down in tears a lot lately. Which is unlike me.

Queenmarigold · 11/06/2012 10:27

Can I join?

:-)

It's the best thing that's happened to me in a long, long time...

Does anyone know anything about exercising though? I'd like to not put on so much weight this time and be fitter, but I'm nervous of doing too much vigourous excercise. What's the advice?

bopfactory · 11/06/2012 12:25

Hello everyone,

Can I join the bus? Just found out I'm expecting no.4 Shock - kind of trying not to get too excited yet as I had early MCs immediately before both my last two successful pregnancies, so almost anticipating the same again! But fingers crossed... According to date calculator this one will be due 16 Feb.

Was only thinking yesterday that I am feeling a bit porky after all the Jubilee parties and that I should try and lose a few pounds this month. Ho hum. Smile

Queenmarigold · 11/06/2012 12:50

According to the calculator, I'm due beg. feb! That makes me 6 weeks already! That can't be right.

bopfactory · 11/06/2012 13:16

Queenmarigold I guess it depends on the length of your cycle - mine's been varying by a few days ever since my period restarted following the birth of DS2, so not sure how accurate the calculated date is. With my others the due dates were tweaked following scans anyway.

Just rang DH at work to tell him. He sounded nervous and excited - which is pretty much how I'm feeling too!

QueenOfTheDrama · 11/06/2012 13:31

bop my DH is nervous too, really happy though, you should see his soppy little grin Smile

Hello fellow queen and congrats Grin

moogle345 · 11/06/2012 17:51

Hello everyone! I too found out on Saturday that I'm pregnant. Due in early Feb I think though tbh I have no idea when my last period was....not keeping very good records!! I expect some tutting from my GP when I register!!
I was wondering if anyone had any advice about telling work. For health and safety reasons I can't carry on as normal with my job so have to tell them tomorrow (have been on hols for 2 weeks) but feel its realy unfair that most of you won't have to tell work for a few weeks yet and I do. Or I lie and come up with random excuse....What do you think, tell the truth, or lie and wait as long as possible (as long as most people would) before telling them?

noblegiraffe · 11/06/2012 18:01

If you can't do your job because you're pregnant then why would you lie? You'll only end up telling them in a few weeks anyway! People only wait because of the miscarriage risk before the scan don't they?

I told my boss at work the day after I found out because she was sorting timetables for next year (I'm a teacher) and thought she might want to change something before her deadline the next day.

noblegiraffe · 11/06/2012 18:01

Congratulations everyone, by the way Grin

Want2bSupermum · 11/06/2012 19:54

Did a test this morning and it was +ve Confused. We have an 11 months DD and I was laid off at the end of April. 2 for 2 in terms of unplanned pregnancies Blush.

I called the obn already (we live in the US) and I my first appointment is scheduled for June 29th. Now I know why I have been so tired and grouchy. According to calculator I am due on Feb 17th. I am going into this expecting to go to 42 weeks this time (1st week of March) as the days after my due date were the slowest days ever. Anything sooner is a bonus.

LittleMissSnowShine · 11/06/2012 20:04

hello all! just got my bfp so bit nervous about posting here since it's all a bit new but since i prob wont have my booking appt for 5 or 6 weeks and a scan for another 8 weeks a nice definite bfp is all any of us really hav to go on!!

my cycles are a bit irregular but i reckon i'm 12 dpo and my edd will around 20th / 21st feb (my b'day is on 19th!)

this is #2 for me and im v excited Grin

traceofinsanity · 11/06/2012 20:41

Congratulations all :o

Moogle Is there a reason you're worried about telling work? Otherwise I agree with Noble that you should just go ahead and tell them. Seems like an easier option to me :)
Queen of the Drama Glad to hear I'm not the only one who's been moody. I also cry at the drop of a hat these days although that started when I fell pg with DD and hasn't stopped since!
Queen Marigold re exercise I think it's good to be active, but don't do anything too vigorous if you're not used to it. As my 'Guide to Pregnancy' book says "Sudden changes to the requirements you make on your body (exercise) can compromise your chances of keeping the baby." I would play it safe and stick to gentle exercise only.

QueenOfTheDrama · 11/06/2012 20:57

Congratulations to all the new people!

Hi littlemiss - lovely to see you here Smile

moogle what is your job if you don't mind me asking? I've got similar issues with my work and was hoping to find someone in the same position as me to talk to about it (as really don't want to tell anyone in work just yet!)

FreeButtonBee · 11/06/2012 21:08

Hello, another one signing in. I am just about 5 weeks, DC1, got BFP on Friday evening. EDD 13 Feb. So far apart from a huge appetite I feel fine. Trying not to freak out about that - am sure the nasea and tiredness will kick in soon.

Have even been for a run on Sat and Pilates tonight (instructor happy for me to continue in normal classes with a few minor tweaks for another month at least).

I am finding eating plenty of protein is keeping me feeling well - keps the blood sugar a bit more stable than too many carbs. Felt worse last week than I do now- although I suppose the not drinking thing probably also helps!
