Hi!

Thought I would start this thread as I found out I was pregnant on Saturday and a few of you were saying you had also found out this weekend!

Do come and share!

Hi Tummy

I do feel vair attractive right now. The phrase "who ate all the pies" springs to mind! However am trying to enjoy every bit of this pregnancy and not wish it away; although please remind me of this comment in a few days/ weeks when I'm vomiting!!

Sounds like you've had a busy day with all the children! I take my hat off to you managing the tiredness with looking after littlies as well. You deserve a medal!

I've had a nice day, went to meet friends for lunch, although kept being asked if I was ok as was constantly yawning. Made up some vague guff about feeling a little bit run down. Need to keep this story up over the weekend due to not I'm paranoid people will be guessing, what with that and my jelly belly!

Husband has gone out tonight so I'm left with The Voice. Wow my life is so rock n roll right now! Although will probably be heading off to bed soonish...

Countrymama Wow! and welcome!

What a massive surprise for you! I guess you're feeling all sorts of things at the moment, especially not knowing how far along you are.

Very pleased to have you here. I'm on number 1 so this is all new to me. Hope we can support you with your news and getting your head around it.

OP posts:
whatsinthebagangelos · 02/06/2012 21:25

And congratulations of course!

Ah CountryMama Congratulations! What a surprise for you and dh! They will all be good pals as they are growing up (most of the time, anyway!) Hope you are feeling ok. I am dreading the morning sickness kicking in properly as I really struggle with it.

whatsinthebag it's really hard keeping people of the scent isn't it! We are going out tomorrow night. I am going to have to think of something, as nobody believes the old antibiotics excuse.

whatsinthebagangelos · 02/06/2012 21:43

What can we come up with excuse wise?! I am stumped. We are staying at friends house so can't even say I'm driving....

Countrymama - that's so amazing! Congratualtions. Have you booked in at the doctors to find out how far gone you are?

Whatsinthebag - I told some people last weekend that I was on antibiotics for wisdom teeth problems - no one can see how bad your wisdom teeth are!

We told my parents on Friday. My Dad was so pleased it was lovely to see. (It'll be their first grandchild) He's a big ol farmer type and he just kept saying "well done, great" with a big beaming smile on his face. My mum was a bit more negative - talking about mc risk etc.

My best friend rang me yesterday and told me about a mutual friend who lost her baby at 9 weeks. So sad for her. And soooooo hard not to blurt out to my friend "we're pregnant too"

Off to watch the pageant in London today! Really looking forwards to it. Might get a bit wet though!

whatsinthebagangelos · 03/06/2012 08:11

Free range - good call on the wisdom teeth antibiotics, have had some of mine out but could pretend one more is niggling!

What a lovely reaction from your dad Smile I bet you were chuffed. How are you feeling about your mums reaction? Hope you're ok.

We will have to tell 2 of our friends as we're going on holiday with them around week 9-10 for 2 weeks! Everyone else will be told after the scan.

Have been woken up early as we have house martins who have built nests right outside the windows in our bedroom. They make so much noise from around 4 am onwards- and they'll be here till October ish! Sad I need sleep help!

noblegiraffe · 03/06/2012 10:18

Crikey, Countrymama, what are the chances while breastfeeding! Would the hospital give you a scan seeing as you're supposed to be having surgery? That would date it for you. Will the surgery even go ahead??

Re not drinking: IME people will suspect anyway, whatever story you give them, but won't say anything at the time. When you actually tell them, they will say 'I knew it! We were all saying it that time we went out and you weren't drinking'.

tummytickler · 03/06/2012 11:16

We are going to a friends pub tonight, which we love doing. But he has he often nips behind the bar and makes a fancy drink and hands it out, so I have dh on hand to try and drink my drinks for me if I am given them, and I will order coke and pretend it has vodka in it!

CountryMama · 03/06/2012 15:05

Thanks so much for the supportive words. I really appreciate being able to tell some people because I am so shocked. I have a doctors appointment on Friday and hope that they can book me in for a dating scan asap. I spoke to my doctor on the phone and he sounded a bit judgemental until I said I really had been using contraception. I am terribly worried how this will effect our family but we have decided to move in with my parents (they have a big house with a massive garden) in order to help when the baby arrives (better than our 2 bedroom cottage!!) It just changes everything... the car we have, work (I don't see how I could keep working with 3 under 4!!) I feel a bit like a naughty teenager!!!

I definitely can't have the surgery as it would cause me to miscarriage. Haven't been able to talk to the consultant yet.

Thank you again for welcoming me even though I don't know when I might be due. :)

So nice to read through all your comments. Hope you all have a fab weekend. XX

Damash12 · 03/06/2012 15:48

Hi can I join please ladies. I'm due 1st Feb but very nervous as I had a miscarriage last oct at 10 weeks. Before that I had my gorgeous boy, soon to be 4 and before him 2 miscarriages and not to mention I'm 40. So trying not to get my hopes up too much until I've had the early scan but it's still nice to be in special Feb club and be able to support each other through the next 9 months. Good Luck everyone. X

whatsinthebagangelos · 03/06/2012 22:08

Hi damask, welcome and congratulations Smile

Great to have you here and sorry about the rough ride you've had. Keeping everything crossed that your pregnancy goes smoothly this time.

Whatever happens I hope we can be of support to you. Sending lots of positive thoughts your way x

Hi Damash - welcome and congratulations.

We seem to be a bit thin on the ground compared to some other threads!

Pageant yesterday was fab. Todays plan is to paint our 2nd bedroom. We'll eventually use our 3rd bedroom as a nursery but Oh uses it as a dressing room (how that happened I don't know, it should have been mine) so once we get to nursery stage much later we need to move all his stuff into the 2nd bedroom which needs decorating first. Feellike it would massively tempt fate to do up the nursery before 12 weeks but by doing our main spare room it feels like a good job done anyway.

What's everyone else up to?

noblegiraffe · 04/06/2012 10:54

I just found another Due Feb thread in the Pregnancy section Confused

This weekend we have been potty training DS (2.9). You know those people who say 'He just decided he didn't want to wear nappies anymore and has been perfect ever since'? That's not us.

whatsinthebagangelos · 04/06/2012 13:12

Oh dear are there 2 threads?

We must have had the same idea!

Potty training is so much fun. I work with parents and it's always something that seems to be stressfully! Good luck!

Hi can I join?

I found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago.

My GP thinks I'm roughly 5-6weeks, I don't know as I've been on the Pill and not had regular periods.

If I'm 5 weeks I am due 4/2/13. I have been referred to the Midwife and just need to wait for my scan to find out the true dates.

We have just told DD and MIL. MIL is happy but worried about my health.

Vicbic · 04/06/2012 23:14

Hi All!
Just POAS just to check (even though it'ss too early to really). If my dates are right EDD should be 15th Feb.
How exciting everybody!

tummytickler · 05/06/2012 08:11

Hi! Congratulations newbies! This is all so exciting. It still doesn't feel real yet, there still seems so far to go before Feb!
Woke up feeling sick, stuffed y face with cornflakes to help. I could end up very fat indeed if the only way to relieve sickness is scoffing food down every 5 minutes!

whatsinthebagangelos · 05/06/2012 11:02

Welcome everyone!

What a lovely day Sad it's peeing down here. Still I am grabbing hold of the last bit of royalty before its all over. Didn't think I would be that interested but have ended up loving it!

Tummy just eat whatever you need to to feel ok. Have only had a few mild waves of nausea so far but have stocked up on healthy snacks so I can eat little and often and not cave and eat crisps and choc, my usual faves!

OP posts:
BackPackBackPack · 05/06/2012 12:27

It seems like it's going to pour down here aswell and I need to go to Morrisons for some meat and veg.

For the last few days I have had bad sickness so I just eat little and often.

It doesn't seem real at the moment.

freerangelady · 05/06/2012 12:31

Hello people.

Not a stroke of sickness here. Mum said she had it really bad so I've been wondering if I'll get it. I've certainly not been put off my food though!

whatsinthebagangelos · 05/06/2012 13:22

Just had my midwife ring me, caught me off guard and I was with my friend so had to rush out of the room. Then had no diary or anything so couldn't book date for booking in. How cool am I?! Blush

Tried to ring her back when friend had gone but she had left. Will try again tomorrow...she probably thinks I'm mental...oops.

OP posts:
noblegiraffe · 05/06/2012 18:29

Oh blimey are people phoning midwives already? I've just been pootling along and not really thinking about it.

Had several periods of nausea today which was delightful. Not really sure how I'm going to cope going back to work!

whatsinthebagangelos · 05/06/2012 18:48

Noble

I went to the gp last tues a few days after I found out and then the midwife rang me today, was not expecting it so soon! She wants to see me at 8 weeks. So was just wanting to book appointment.
