Hi!

Thought I would start this thread as I found out I was pregnant on Saturday and a few of you were saying you had also found out this weekend!

Do come and share!

Hello all!!

Queen / something / LookatHerGo - It is fun getting your notes and quite addictive googling midwife's abbreviations on them - quite scary sometimes too lol

Lois - I work part-time and I'm not incredibly well paid (tho not terribly paid either iykwim) and DS is full-time but on a similar wage. My post is in the community sector and I'm only really entitled to stat maternity pay (tho there might be a possibility of getting 2 months on full pay followed by stat) and we will find it hard going running the cars (which me and DH both need to have for work) and paying mortgage. Looking at ways of cutting back on spending and starting to save a bit - wouldn't it be lovely to be a lady of leisure with the finances to back it up! lol!

somethingwittynot · 19/06/2012 19:23

lol i had a very complicated pregnancy with DS google was my teacher Grin we already have names picked out from before we were even pregnant! Grin

QueenOfTheDrama · 19/06/2012 19:25

white I had a secret name list in the back of my diary long before my BFP! Blush Now that I'm finally pg DH will actually discuss the matter with me!

littlemiss I've got money worries too, scared about how we're going to manage to pay for everything. Need to get bargain hunting I think.

LookAtHerGo · 19/06/2012 20:13

We get a green book around these parts Envy of the pretty blue ones. I'm a medical type so knew a lot of abbreviations without Dr Google, although that doesn't help matters at times!

My mw had a student with her today and I was saying how it's weird to not be sick (yet) and she said to student how I was worst case of HG she had seen in a long time! Yet at the time I was never told it was actually HG. I kind of had to get the diagnosis after.

Oh and you know the doc who prescribed me ear spray thing that I can't have, well turns out she gave me duff info on who would be organising my scan, which is as I suspected! I'll not be asking for apt with her if I need a routine apt for anything. Great confidence boost in her ability!

Sorry for not catching up with other posts. I'm on my phone and can't read back at the mo. I hope people aren't going to have to wait too long for appointments.

LittleMissSnowShine · 19/06/2012 21:17

LookAtHerGo - I had a green book of notes last time round, not sure if they will have changed for me but I'll keep u in the loop Grin

somethingwittynot · 19/06/2012 21:21

Leftwingharpie · 20/06/2012 06:10

Morning ladies! Another crazy night! This time I dreamt that I cloned the cat, using an app on my iPhone, obviously. Then I realised I couldn't tell our beloved little cat from the clone - and I was devastated! Then I woke up for another massive middle of the night pee!

How are we all today?

LoisLame · 20/06/2012 07:25

Morning. Can't remember what I dreamt about for the first time since Thursday! Had a really uncomfortable night and been up since 5 wanting to swallow brillo pads to relieve my hay fever induced itchy throat! Turns out DH had the bedroom window open all night which didn't help. Gave him his birthday card and he opened it out, saw the pic of the +ve test, spent a minute looking at it then said "really?". His next sentence was "you better have a boy this time because I want one of each" Hmm He has since assured me he was joking, and gone to work under strict instruction to not tell anyone. Will have to upload pics of the card later.

Hope everyone else had a better night.

Leftwingharpie · 20/06/2012 07:27

Lois was he pleased?!

LoisLame · 20/06/2012 08:04

Yes he was very pleased. He comes from a massive family (he has 5 brothers) so wants a big family himself. Me, not so much, but the one thing we both always agreed on when it came to number of children is that we didn't want DD to be an only child.

His last comment before going to work was oh no, now we have to go into the whole baby names thing again. We had a girls name from very early on last time but could never agree on a boys name. Might go to the library later and get some name/pregnancy books (hope it's not too early, but I'm bored Grin)

WhiteAnkleSocks · 20/06/2012 08:27

Morning everyone, Lois :o

I am really, really tired this morn and feeling like I might burst into tears at any moment. Can't face the idea of work today but got to go in, so am on the train, counting down the minutes until 6pm already! Just wanted to drop by and wish everyone good days.

Left my dreams are getting really vivid and a bit sexy Blush maybe that's why I'm so tired!

Haywire · 20/06/2012 08:39

morning all

whiteAnkle ugh it's horrid when you feel so tired and have such a long day ahead. I work Friday and Saturday usually 10-11 hours but luckily only a few minutes walk from my house. dreading the end of the week. glad it's not just me with the racy dreams!!!

Lois glad he was pleased. I had a quick perusal of the baby name boards on here last night when DH was watching the footie.

leftwing your cat seems to be featuring heavily in your dreams this week!

Leftwingharpie · 20/06/2012 08:45

Haywire I know! Pregnant with my first child and all I can think about is the bloody cat! Grin

BackPackBackPack · 20/06/2012 09:17

Morning all.

I had a dream last night about DP sleeping with a Chocolate Cake so I had to walk round and get it off him. I woke him up by grabbing the cake (which was his nose) he woke me up then and I was standing on his side of the bed Blush

I'm at my GP's this afternoon as I can't keep any food or much fluid down so the GP is wanting to see me again to see if he can give me something to help ease the vomiting.

WhiteAnkleSocks · 20/06/2012 12:23

BackPack so sorry to hear that you are so unwell. I really hope your GP gives you somethig that works, constant sickness is just awful :(

But I do love your hilarious dream, my DH would have been mightily insulted ha I woken him up trying to pull of his nose (he is the proud bearer of a very roman conk)!

Feeling a bit better now that I have settled into the day, but v distracted - can't concentrate on anything that isn't pregnancy-related!

Leftwingharpie · 20/06/2012 13:40

White ankle socks I'm glad it's not just me. I can't focus at all, my mind keeps drifting to this momentous thing!

Backpack sorry to hear you're feeling rotten. I haven't felt sick at all yet, but I've probably got it to come! I've stocked up on ginger just in case - though I am assured it does no good. Some of my friend's have found those motion sickness wristbands quite helpful, and also recommend spending a lot of time in the shower with the water on your back. Not entirely practical 99% of the time admittedly!

bopfactory · 20/06/2012 15:47

Afternoon everyone,

Feeling much better today in that I am feeling much worse!!! Been really nauseous all day, so am now feeling more positive that all is OK - with previous pgs it was the ones where I felt fine that didn't stick!

Did another test yesterday and got a very strong line straight away so I feel much happier in my mind (if not my stomach!)

Much sympathy to those of you are puking badly - it's bad enough just feeling icky!

Leftwingharpie · 20/06/2012 16:18

Oh dear don't say that when I've got no nausea at all!

somethingwittynot · 20/06/2012 16:44

i havent got much nausea but it didnt kick in till 8 weeks with DS. i want my scan!

Leftwingharpie · 20/06/2012 16:55

I'd just like to feel a little bit more pregnant - not too much though! Grin

somethingwittynot · 20/06/2012 17:58

me to! getting a digi on friday but my scan will be the most reassurance

WhiteAnkleSocks · 20/06/2012 18:41

Leftwing - I know what you mean! Last week I could really feel things happening in my uterus, but this week - nothing. I can't wait to have a little bit of a bump and be able to feel my baby.

I can't work out exactly how pregnant I am because I dont know the date of my last period, only when we are likely to hae conceived. It feels like ages before the dating scan!

somethingwittynot · 20/06/2012 19:07

i felt DS at 16 weeks hope this baby will be around then or earlier!

Leftwingharpie · 20/06/2012 21:09

I can't stop Googling! How do you turn the worry off?! DH isn't worried at all, though he does keep banging on about my vegetarian diet. I'm under strict instructions to confess all to the midwives. DH is convinced they will prescribe a nice steak dinner!

somethingwittynot · 20/06/2012 21:53

you cant turn the worry off till youe had a scan!
