Thought I'd get the ball rolling as I know there have been some BFPs in the last few days on here.....

Just got a confirmatory BFP on a clear blue. This will be DC2, DC1 will be two in two weeks!

So grab a seat, buckle up and enjoy the vino soft drinks on offer.

Ps is it really bad that I am craving a jug of Pimm's?!

Thanks mamabell, I only woke up due to the mind racing I think then you know how it is once you're awake in the night, the slightest thing sets you off again! I think probably my body is still healing from the battering you get from ivf - it's pretty grim!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 09/06/2012 19:57

Welcome Queenof - Congratulations!!!!

It is terribly exciting and scary all at the same time!

SBC x

McPrice · 09/06/2012 20:15

congrats queenof!
i was the same i was stunned for 2 days when i found out!

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 09/06/2012 20:17

Sbc I slept very badly early on last time and now, think your mind is racing and the slightest thing can wake you up!

Jessy17 · 09/06/2012 20:20

Hi all,
Hope you don't mind me joining this conversation but I found out about a week ago that I am five weeks pregnant! I'm trying not to get my hopes up as I have previously had pelvic inflammatory disease (clear now) and that puts me at a higher risk of an ectopic pregnancy. I'm having a bit of pain in the left side of my stomach and was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this? Can't believe how much I have been eating in the last few weeks it seems abnormal! I'm also driving my partner a bit mad with my mood swings lol. So excited to go to my first scan and crossing fingers everything will be okay...my due date is just one day before my birthday supposedly so I will have a big birthday present in feb 2013!!!

eggandbean · 09/06/2012 22:20

Hi everyone, I'm new here too... been scouring the internet for a friendly sounding forum and this one seems just lovely :)

Got my BFP yesterday morning and various websites put my DD at 14th February 2013. Still doesn't really seem real! Phoned GP straight away and got my first midwife appointment booked for 26th June. Yikes, it's really happening!!

Pinkie - is your DD still 14th Feb too?

McPrice - haha, know what you mean about alcohol adverts, but worse for me is theme park adverts which are suddenly all over the telly and in my fave, I'm a bit of a rollercoaster junkie and due to be going to Thorpe Park in 3 weeks and Alton Towers at the end of the summer - noooo! That one never occured to me, not sure how I'll cope without my rollercoaster fix.. I guess I've got a difference sort of rollercoaster to go through now though Shock

I've been feeling pretty sick and big swollen boobs, oh and really tired and slightly grumpy.. DH will of course say nothing new there but it's nice to have a good excuse for the tired & grumpy side of things isn't it?

SO lovely to be able to TELL some people, even if complete strangers, that I am pregnant, really is weird and driving me mad already not being able to tell friends and family.

QueenOfTheDrama · 09/06/2012 22:35

Thanks for the welcome ladies Smile

mcprice saw your post re job worries- snap! Planning on keeping quiet for the time being. But great to hear that nothing would be affected this early on anyway! Where in country are you? Don't answer if you don't want to but would be a big coincidence if we worked in the same place! Grin

Pinkie29 · 09/06/2012 22:36

Hi queen Grin welcome to the other side!

eggandbean I've had two dates! If I go by my ov date then I'm due feb14th if I go by the date of my last period I'm due feb 11th Hmm not much difference but a valentines baby would be lovely, though costly for dp Grin I'm currently 4 weeks 5 days according to my 'what to expect' app.

I'd recommend downloading it it's gives you detailed of what's happening inside each week and a little bit of info/tip each day. I keep wondering when morning sickness starts? Is it wrong to look forward to it?? I felt slightly queasy a few times today nothing major tho and my cramps have barely been noticed (hope that's not a bad thing?!)

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 09/06/2012 22:37

Oooo what to expect app! I'm there!!!

Pinkie29 · 09/06/2012 22:44

Slightlybabycrazed just seen your post, up until yesterday I was having af type cramps and very nervous, my mum and mw said its completely normal especially if it's your first as the uterus is growing and stretching in totally new ways, I had a sharp pain across the bikini line thurs that felt like a pulled muscle, I've barely had any cramping today compared to the last 5 days or could be that I'm getting used to it?

The mw said I should only worry and contact gp if the pain becomes unbearable accompanied by bleeding

eggandbean · 09/06/2012 22:44

Pinkie - oh yeh the 2 dates thing is weird, I've ignored ov date as all the sites seem to ask about first date of last period and it's that which gives me 14th. I guess so few babies come on their DD anyway that I won't get my hopes up but yes, something very cute / romantic sounding about a valentines baby, definitely. Thanks for the app recommendation, I downloaded a Babycenter one today but wil look into the 'what to expect' one (was it free? I'm all about saving the pennies with what's happening next Feb now!!)

Anyone else's pets been acting differently towards them by the way?! Just been googling this and it sounds likely they can sense the changes. My cat has been so clingy to me the last few days, won't leave me alone and keeps pawing my stomach and being generally very cute :) Although right now it's hard to type as she's rubbing herself ALL over me, purring like some mad posessed creature in my face, argh!

How funny would it be if Queen Of and McPrice worked in the same place?! Haha... workplace is going to be VERY hard to keep it quiet. Just because I was the latest to get married (last July) they are all expecting me to be pregnant next, so I've been trying to throw them all of the scent (even though we've been trying). The slightest sign of sickness and I bet they'll all guess. must prepare strongface and hide sick feelings on Monday, I must, I must, argh!!

Sorry for long post, bit over-excited about all of this, and having someone reply to my first message so quicky!! (thanks Pinkie!)

eggandbean · 09/06/2012 22:47

I've not had any cramps yet by the way but just feeling nauseous to a certain extent almost all the time. Especially when hungry though (which is also almost all the time!) In Sainsburys on Thursday night, the night before I found out I was pg, I thought I was going to pass out I got so hungry and nauseous all at the same time, yuk! So Pinkie um, not sure I'd particularly look forward to it, but I'm certainly looking forward to it passing! Confused

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 09/06/2012 22:52

I've been on the app it's good isn't it! I love those type of things.

Pinkie29 · 09/06/2012 22:52

Oh I have been so hungry its unreal! A few days before I found out I'd need a sandwich 3 hrs after dinner!

'what to expect' is free btw think i just typed pregnancy into the app store

Pinkie29 · 09/06/2012 22:54

eggbean my cat is going that too! She's only 4 months but has been pawing my tummy and licking my clothes whilst at it?! Also rubbing herself against me whenever possible! Wonder if they can smell the pheromones?

eggandbean · 09/06/2012 22:59

Hee hee pinkie, what curious creates they are.. yes I think they are highly sensitive to hormonal changes and pheromones.

Downloading the app as we speak.....

Well goodnight, hope to catch up again soon and look forward to sharing this journey with you guys on here! :)

QueenOfTheDrama · 09/06/2012 23:00

Ooh going to get that app now, love that kind of thing Smile

That's amazing about your cats!! My dog is oblivious Grin Wonder how she'll react once baby is here though? I think she could be quite jealous- she doesn't even like it when me and DH sit next to each other on the sofa Grin

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 09/06/2012 23:06

My cat is oblivious, he doesn't like babies. Poor thing!!

Pinkie29 · 09/06/2012 23:07

I get jealous when my cat sits with dp haha! She does give me lots of cuddles and likes to play loads!

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 09/06/2012 23:10

When I brought ds home my cat was really depressed. However much you want to its hard to give them the same attention.

He is even less impressed now ds spends half his time trying to pull his tail.

D30rvg · 10/06/2012 00:38

Haha eggandbean you have just reminded me that I'm at Alton Towers in July. I'm a teacher & it is a school trip. The students & teachers all know what a rollercoaster freak I am so I'm going to have to think of some convincing excuses before then.

I'm getting fed up of feeling nauseous! I really didn't expect it to start this early. I am getting quite light headed during the day & nearly passed out last week. I am also constantly starving. I'm finding this quite worrying as I have recently lost 4 & half stone & the last thing I want to do is put it all back on (I am still overweight as it is).

Back to school after half term on Monday. I know it is not physically apparent yet but I can't help feeling as if people can see right through me. I'm sure it is just me but it seems as if people keep asking me if I'm alright. Does anyone else feel this?

mrsfleur · 10/06/2012 07:18

Thanks Mamabelle I've had everything crossed that this one turns out well - apart from my legs obviously :o hee hee!
Congrats to everyone else on this thread, I love reading about everyone's symptoms (the dreams are hilarious!) Currently have very sore boobs and back and womb cramps which come and go.
Worst part is not being able to TELL anyone yet! DH pointed out I'd be a crap spy due to my inability to keep secrets :) so thanks mumsnet for the freedom to chat!

mrsfleur · 10/06/2012 07:37

Sorry eggandbean just realised you kinda covered the whole being able to tell people thing in your earlier post - I should read everyone else's posts before adding!
D30rvg I'm worried about that too - one of the dinnerladies gave my stomach area a very thoughtful look on Friday (before postive test) However I am overweight so maybe she's just judgemental! At least in a school everyone is tired and cranky at this time of year so you won't stand out too much :)
I am currently using non-specific throat infection as the excuse for my doctor's appointments - this is good for the 'why I'm not drinking alcohol' excuse too!

Pinkie29 · 10/06/2012 08:16

I'm finding it soooo hard not to tell people too! I mean really when is the right time? I'm 5 weeks tomorrow so have another 7 until our 1st scan. Only ppl who know are my parents and a work colleague

FlyingSubmarine · 10/06/2012 09:03

Hello! Can I join in too please? I got my BFP yesterday, so I think I am due on 14th Feb. Very excited and also very nervous - this is number one for me. I have a copy of "What to expect..." so am going to start reading after the recommendations on here. :)
