Thought I'd get the ball rolling as I know there have been some BFPs in the last few days on here.....

Just got a confirmatory BFP on a clear blue. This will be DC2, DC1 will be two in two weeks!

So grab a seat, buckle up and enjoy the vino soft drinks on offer.

Ps is it really bad that I am craving a jug of Pimm's?!

Bean, I'm still waiting for midwife appt - went to docs over week ago, am an oldie and conceived through ivf, so considered high risk! Gonna give them tomorrow then throw my teddies down phone! On plus side the fertility clinic are scanning me at 8 weeks due to possibility of multiples, but after that it is down to midwife!

I'm feeling pretty unwell right now. Been off all day but since I got home from work I've been shivering with cold, bad headache, nausea and really bad cramps. Anyone experinced this? Please someone tell me this is normal I'm starting to worry a bit...

i had my booking at about 11 weeks with DS!

Somethingwitty - Oh no, mouth vom!

Bean - I can't even see my GP til next week, 2 week wait is turning into the normal in Belfast. Glad my leg isn't about to fall off or something!! Hope midwife will be a bit quicker than dr but hav to wait and see, groan

Crabapple - I think 10 weeks is normal-ish. They're supposed to book you in betweem 8 - 10 weeks, and then you're supposed to get a dating scan sometime between 9-12 weeks. It does seem like a long flippin wait tho, but I suppose we can console ourselves knowing there's not much to see and just lots of placenta building going on in there, the real acrobatics don't start til 2nd tri

Morecoffee - Good luck with mw 2moro, hope she's v positive and is able to reassure u about whatever birth option you want to go with and tell u that your uterus is in tip top shape. It's exciting!!

Report
LittleMissSnowShine · 19/06/2012 20:45

perfectshade - yep, i'm always freezing and exhausted and prob when i hit about 7 weeks i'll be nauseous and green in the face too. think it's normal - have some tea and go to bed u poor thing. hope u feel much better 2moro!

hi all
Can i join you all? i'm 8ish weeks pregnant and due the 2nd Feb with my first :-) going to see my midwife on tuesday so she can book me in for a scan and its just a 'meet and greet' with her. I'm sooo excited about it all!! i'm already craving meat all of the time, feeling sick every 2 hours after eating (so eat again to stop the nausea) and just feel so tired i could cry! I'm a nursery teacher and several of my parents have asked me if i'm pregnant because 'i'm glowing' i think they mean i've put weight on!! anyway good luck to every1 with their babies! can't wait to talk to other mummies and mummies 2 be!!

Welcome brandnewmam and congratulations! Prepare to become very addicted to this site!

No cravings for me just yet just eating lots in general. I'm also panicking a bit as I seem to have put on weight due to eating lots. I'm explaining it away saying that I've done little exercise since running a marathon in April. Everyone seems to be buying that excuse currently though!

Report
Sonics · 19/06/2012 21:35

Hi ladies

Well, aerobics was good. I took it easy and didn't jump up and down, just bounced lightly. I was so paranoid all the way through though and now I'm so worried. I can feel my stomach if you know what I mean? Plus I've just read in my new pregnancy book (that arrived today) that you should avoid twisty movements. There were some of those but it was more shaking hips than twisting. Think I'm going to stick to swimming as this just isn't worth the stress!

Report
eggandbean · 19/06/2012 21:37

Dinky - that's hilarious, exactly the same for me (and MrsM80, hope I've remembered her name right!) who also ran a marathon in April.. I've been conveniently injured since then (true!) so saying that lack of running is making me fat and nobody is suspecting a thing! Well I hope not. I really do think I am eating too much though, yikes! Not to go too off topic but which one did you do? I did Manchester, it was fab, my last one before becoming a Mum and went out with a 14 min pb :)

MrsRT · 19/06/2012 21:38

Damn it.

egg MrsM80 is me! I changed my name as thought the old one was boring! Did London. Unfortunately didn't manage a PB as was 9 minutes slower than previous Edinburgh time from the year befire but still enjoyed though and had been injured before it too.

It's a good excuse for the weight gain anyway! Hopefully they'll carry on buying the excuse for us both anyway!

MrsRT Have you started looking at hospital/ birthing options yet? I don't know anything about the Bristol hospitals. I had to fill out a pregnancy questionnaire which asked where I wanted to give birth- it feels a bit soon for that question!

Thread moves too fast!

Yeah, I'll be having another scan in 7 weeks, luckily. I was worried that if this scan was too early that they still wouldn't see me again until 20 weeks.

I'm looking forward to that one even more than the one I had today, I'll actually see the baby properly next time! Grin

Can't wait until 12 weeks are up. Fortunately have 4 weeks off for our wedding and honeymoon which will take me to 12 wks. Almost had to confess to a colleague tonight as she asked me to help handle chemicals you shouldn't be exposed to in pregnancy - saved by another colleague needing my help more urgently :-) My parents lives away so really want to tell them in person (and also other halfs parents who are local and could hear rumours) before telling anyone else.

CrazySexyCool123 I have had to decide on hospital too. I've decided on Bath RUH as getting to Southmead or BRI in rush hour or generally most times of the day would be a nightmare from where I live! I went for an early scan at Bath the other week & they were really good, I don't think there is much in it though..

Report
Sonics · 19/06/2012 22:11

crabapple I'll find out tomorrow when I go to see the doc. I didn't tell the receptionist so will let you know how long I have to wait for an appointment (being as we're both in mcr - I gather things differ from region to region)

Report
CrazySexyCool123 · 19/06/2012 22:13

RUH was on the list. I lived in bath for 8 years and it's the only one ive heard of people I know going to. I'm near brislington so bath is probably the most convenient for me too. I haven't seen a midwife yet so a scan will prob be a while away yet. How did the scan go?

MW appt tomorrow-excited! Going to ask about med for the nausea as at the moment I feel sick through most of the day and don't feel like eating much at all! (although did scoff a macdonalds on the way to work-not sure if it was a proper craving or just low blood sugar craving!) Not sure if I'll get anything though as (thankfully) haven't actually vommed yet!

Quick question-when do you need to let work know when and how long your maternity leave will be? We're saving like mad at the moment so it'll depend on how much money we have in the bank but work have already asked me if I have any idea yet?! Felt I had to tell work as do nights with just one other person and can't do some of the stuff I'd normally do-is strange they know before most of my mates
