Thought I'd get the ball rolling as I know there have been some BFPs in the last few days on here.....

Just got a confirmatory BFP on a clear blue. This will be DC2, DC1 will be two in two weeks!

So grab a seat, buckle up and enjoy the vino soft drinks on offer.

Ps is it really bad that I am craving a jug of Pimm's?!

west midlands here cheesetoastie!

D30rvg · 08/06/2012 14:48

I can't stop burping! Haven't noticed any changes to breasts yet but have felt dizzy a couple of times. DH is very excited & ends all texts with 'dear pregnant wifey' can imagine that is going to get a bit irritable soon. Off to drs at 5.10 just to get clarification. If my numbers are right I think EDD is 15th Feb. DH wants it to be 14th (bit of a romantic).

bloomingmarvellous · 08/06/2012 15:37

just gave in and let myself test 5 days early! got very strong BFP husband wonders if its twins with the line being so strong this early

brimfullofasha · 08/06/2012 18:06

Hi everyone, Well the EPAU put me at 5 weeks ( I thought I was 6). They could see a sack and yolk but no foetal pole. They could also see an ovarian cyst and a fibroid. Trying to stay positive. They want me back in 2 weeks.

All this time we were trying I sort of felt when I got my BFP it would be all about getting excited and planning. Whereas it seems to be about worry and obsessive googling at the moment!

brimfullofasha · 08/06/2012 18:12

I must admit I didn't have much faith in the nurse at the EPAU when she said that every woman ovulated exactly 14 days before the start of their period so I couldn't possibly ovulate when I think know I do!

D30rvg · 08/06/2012 18:12

Got fingers crossed for you brimfullofasha . I know what you mean about the worry. I keep having to remind myself that it has only been a couple of weeks & not to count chicks. There seems to be so much to worry about. Juxtaposed to that is brimming with excitement & wanting to tell the whole world I am pregnant.

The Dr has confirmed the pregnancy but I must admit it was a slightly underwhelming experience. I said that I thought I was pregnant & he just said 'ok, get in touch with midwife'. We have decided to tell parents on Sunday. Going to take them out for a meal.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 08/06/2012 18:31

asha best of luck, how do you feel? The fibroids can cause a bit of bleeding can't they as you get bigger??

Happea · 08/06/2012 19:14

Hello! It's just over a week since I found out I'm pregnant (a surprise!) but it already feels like my life has completely changed. I even had a dream last night (following on from the dream comments earlier!) that my 'old body' had died, I was still alive and looked the same, but me and my mum did not know what to do about the corpse! Creepy and weird but clearly a mad pregnancy dream if ever there was one.

Yesterday I was very nearly sick and today I was sick twice, once early in the morning and then later at about 3pm! So much for 'morning' sickness. I've just finished my degree so I'm more or less on holiday right now, luckily, but I'm worried about what will happen when I start a new job in a week's time, urgh :( But in a way as someone else mentioned I'm reassured by the sickness, and I HAVE BOOBS! Woooo! I am not complaining about my pregnancy although I wasn't really planning on doing this right now, I just feel like it's such a blessing and I can't get over the amazing feeling of knowing I've got another human being growing inside me, a mix of me and my partner, so wonderful!

My emotions are all over the place and almost everything makes me well up - walked past a war memorial today and couldn't help thinking of all the mother's sons who had died and finally beginning to understand the full horror :( I'm in France at the moment but coming back to the UK at the end of the month. I've got an appointment here on Tuesday so I'll let you know how it goes :) So lovely to read all your comments, and I too am really looking forward to being huge in the winter and keeping cosy and warm inside! Yay! Good luck everyone xxx

Happea · 08/06/2012 19:16

Oh God a wayward apostrophe - is it too early to blame this on baby brain? :P

Pinkie29 · 08/06/2012 20:38

Had my midwife call today she's put be at just under 5 weeks got an appointment on June 22nd. I've been having a lot of af type cramps but she said that's totally normal and being my first the uterus will be stretching/moving that way for the first time so can feel a bit comfortable until you get used to it

BabylannShallFall · 08/06/2012 23:51

West Midlands here, too :)

Welcome and congratulations to new people. And good to see you here, Pinkie. :)

Also been getting a lot of af type cramps, and what feels like ovary pain. But I remember having the same with DD, so I know it's nothing to worry about.

Booked my midwife appointment today, for Wednesday afternoon. Excited! Grin

Tuzz · 09/06/2012 06:50

I'm abroad the moment and wasn't planning to come back to the uk until the 3rd 4th July. I'm about 5 weeks - when should I have my 1st appointment with a midwife? I don't think I can do it here, in italy, as I'm not a resident and my Italian is terrible. Should make an appointment with my GP back home and fly early?

Pinkie29 · 09/06/2012 09:11

Glad to hear the cramps are normal baby Smile bit unnerving at first but even my mum said things need to stretch in completely new ways, daft as it sound I said to dp I bet the 2nd time is much easier!

Pinkie29 · 09/06/2012 09:13

Tuzz I've got my first appointment in two week by then I'll be 2 days off 7 weeks she said they like to see ppl around 7-10 weeks

Tuzz · 09/06/2012 09:39

thanks pinkie, i'll call them on Monday and see what they say.
I'm also having cramps this morning, glad to hear they are nothing to worry about

brimfullofasha · 09/06/2012 09:50

Congratulations happea. Thanks pickle, I feel ok. Really glad to know I haven't MCed and excited about the possibility of seeing a heartbeat in 2 weeks. I feel pretty scared about the fibroid although the nurse said it was very small. I was meant to see the registrar for more information but they couldn't find her! I could hear the nurses saying ' ooooh, no one knows where she is... Is she doing a presentation? She shouldn't be doing that if she's on call' and loudly discussing the other poor woman in the waiting room who had 'heavy bleeding'. They eventually told me to go home and I could see her next time I came in. I was a bit relieved to leave at the time but now I wish I'd had a chance to ask questions.

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 09/06/2012 10:01

Hi, can I join you? (she says nervously!)
I had a bfp on Thursday, although we have been through the ivf mill, I'm still in a state of shock and foreboding! Had quite uncomfortable cramps weds-fri but overnight they have calmed down and just twinges now Grin
I am 4w4d and will be having an early scan on 2nd July to check for twins etc, seemed like a good idea to have two popped back in at the time!

Mum1212 · 09/06/2012 10:03

Hi everyone, I am a first time mum and due in December. I had the cramps, panicked and phoned the midwife. She reassured me they were normal. I am getting more nervous as the weeks go on, worrying everything is still progressing as I should etc

Pinkie29 · 09/06/2012 11:17

I'm quite enjoying my little cramps now that I know it's normal, the mw said I should only worry if it's becomes very painful or there's bleeding, it hasn't been that bad just mild/moderate period pain but not to the point I need painkillers.

Tuzz if you ring Monday they'll probably get the mw to call you back but I imagine your 1st app would be due around the time your home anyway, I'm debating paying for an early scan due to my impatience!!

BabylannShallFall · 09/06/2012 11:43

At one point with DD I got a twinge that was so painful I had to sit down and I was crying, convinced I was about to lose the baby. But I was absolutely fine, a few minutes later I felt normal again. They really can be quite strong and shocking early on, but it easesas time passes :)

Hope everyone is well this morning, I'm starving but DP is still in bed so I can't motivate myself to make lunch!

mrsfleur · 09/06/2012 11:54

Hi all,
I'm very new to this website (finding all the acronymns a little confusing but sure I'll get there!) Did a positive test yesterday and by my calculations (with the help of NHS website) I am five weeks gone (but really 3, who knew you had to do so much Maths to have a baby?)
This is a much wanted baby after a miscarriage last year when I didn't know I was pregnant and I'm SOOOOO excited and equal parts terrified! It seems monumentally unfair that early pregnancy signs are so similar to miscarriage symtoms - my poor husband is already bored of me examining for blood every half an hour!
Doctor's appointment on Tuesday and I just wondered if anyone had advice about what I should be asking about? I live in Spain and although I speak Spanish I'd like to be prepared with questions rather than frantically trying to remember/ guessing at the word I need!
Good luck to everyone and lots of love :) xx

Mamabelle · 09/06/2012 12:46

Hi everyone, congratulations to one and all. I'm about 5wks with DC2, yay! We've not told anyone yet, so it's great to chat and get excited with all you fellow MNers. Mind you, DD is totally on the case, the other morning (before BFP) she gently rubbed my tummy and cooed "ah baby belly"! Spooky. Not had any sickness yet, though funny pokey pains, dizyness, dull headaches, and constant hunger are all there. I'm very envious of all of you that have already seen your little bundles of joy on a scan Envy 7wks to wait for mine seems an absolute lifetime .

mrsfleur I'm sorry to hear of your loss last year, fx (fingers crossed) all goes well this time.

Good luck everyone, here's to the next 9 months [raises a glass of virtual vino], cheers.

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 09/06/2012 15:24

Can't stop worrying about the cramps, clinic nurse said it is probably due to the progesterone pessaries - anyone else on these?
Also, anyone else find they wake up through the night to turn over because of cramps, feels a bit like a pulled muscle. I will ask doc about all this stuff when I go next week, just looking for some reassurance in the meantime!

Mamabelle · 09/06/2012 17:36

Hi SBC
I haven't had anything bad enough to wake me up, but last week I was having sharp pains that felt like I was being poked in the overies with a big stick. I was worried too at first, but going by other posts, this does seem to be the norm. I'm seeing the dr on Tuesday, so I'll mention it then, but in the mean time I'm trying not to worry about it. Hope your appointment goes ok.

QueenOfTheDrama · 09/06/2012 19:04

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me joining you. Got my BFP today on a digital after a few faint lines on cheapies. I'm going to be due around 20th Feb, first baby. I'm still in total shock at the moment even though this was very much planned! Will read back over the thread to find out a bit more about you all, looking forward to getting to know everyone Smile I recognise a few names from the conception threads, especially you pinkie Grin
