Thought I'd get the ball rolling as I know there have been some BFPs in the last few days on here.....

Just got a confirmatory BFP on a clear blue. This will be DC2, DC1 will be two in two weeks!

So grab a seat, buckle up and enjoy the vino soft drinks on offer.

Ps is it really bad that I am craving a jug of Pimm's?!

Thanks so much for your lovely messages last night.

I'm 4 weeks but this morning I fear the worst- something made me take another test and rather than a nice bright blue plus sign I had the faintest whisper of a vertical line (much less clear than before). Sometimes biology just isn't fair.

I wish you all the very best of luck :)

QueenOfTheDrama · 18/06/2012 08:04

moo did you use a different brand of test to test again? Could just be not as sensitive?

mollusk snap on the dreams! Last night I dreamt that my dog sneezed and split in two but both halves were walking around completely fine, scary shit!! Grin

somethingwittynot · 18/06/2012 08:19

i to was a mess during my sisters keeper i was laughing and crying at the same time because i felt stupid to cry that much and then got all hormonal and sobbed at DP not to laugh at me!

re pregnancy tests i got a faint line on a supposed sensetive internet cheapy so i took a first response early resonse and BFP. took a superdrug one and a hint of a line. so saturday morning i did a first response and a darker BFP in the afternoon i did a superdrug one and a darker line that was definatly pink so BFP on that one to. my internet cheapies have slowly been getting darker and more pink so BFPs on those now but i dont think there as sensetive as there made out to be.

as someone said you can also use opks but thats not reliable but its sure working for me!

MooMoi · 18/06/2012 08:22

Hi QoTD

It was clear blue from the same box as the 1st one, there's a chance that there could be something wrong with the test. I think the only thing I can do is wait it out, and if nothing happens test again. (odds are I test before the end of the day!)

In the future I'm going with digital tests- agonizing over the darkness of one little blue line is just painful.

Mollusk · 18/06/2012 08:25

QueenoftheDrama - hahahaha! Vivid, bizarre dreams are one of the many surprises for this first-timer.

somethingwittynot · 18/06/2012 08:37

when i was pregnant with DS i dreamt that he was the size of a 2 year old but was only 2 weeks old dressed in yellow and i was pushing him in the pram when a man was running about with a gun. he stood up from his pram and said nobody puts baby in the corner!! thats one dream i will never forget!

asianbabe · 18/06/2012 08:56

Loving all the mad dreams!!

moo my lines did vary too from day to day, as long as the line is there I'm sure you're fine Smile Tbh it's only now at 5wks pg that the lines on my cheapie tests are nice and strong, they were quite faint to begin with.

Welcome asian Smile

somethingwittynot · 18/06/2012 09:46

my lines are nice and strong on first response thats all im bothered about Grin just think for there to be any sort of a line that isnt an evap there has to be some amount of hcg to make the line!!

who wants a fun pee stick fact? if you pull a digital test apart there will always be two blue lines on the paper even if you get a not pregnant result. thats because digital test look for a certain amount of colour triggered by the hcg hormone.

angrytree · 18/06/2012 10:17

Welcome and congrats to all the newcomers :)

Today I'm really achey, especially in my legs. Yet another first trimester symptom!

Loving all the weird dreams!

zanywany · 18/06/2012 12:17

Hi. I can now officially join you as clear blue says I am 5 weeks pregnant.

I am zany. I have 2 dc's, ages 8 and 11 years old. Am due to re marry next Summer when I will also be StepMum to 2 boys aged 2 and 5.

Full of worries about how things are going to go in case I miscarry and worried about how my DS (11) will take my news.

Congratulations to everyone. Glad I've found this thread.

QueenOfTheDrama · 18/06/2012 12:24

Hi zany welcome to the thread and congratulations Smile

angry I wouldn't say my legs were aching exactly but at night they feel really restless and I can't keep them still, even though the rest of me feels exhausted! Not sure if thus is a symptom or not?

LittleMissSnowShine · 18/06/2012 12:52

Hi zany & asianbabe!

Moo - Lots of people prefer using tests with pink dye cos they are supposed to be more sensitive than the ones that use blue dye. I don't know, but wait til tomorrow before you test again, don't do your head in worrying about it - a line is a line. Fx for u!

Loving everyone's funny dreams - blue bananas?? I had a weird dream the other night that I went blind and I was really terrified. I don't like the strange pregnancy dreams, they always leave me a bit freaked out the next day Confused

Pinkie29 · 18/06/2012 13:00

Oh welcome and congrats all you newcomers! Smile

I'm having a worry today, it'd cd43, my last two periods I came on the day after :/ my logic is if I ovd on cd16 then my period would have been due 14days after on cd30 but i had a positive cd29 so I should be ok?? My cycle lengths vary December and jan they were 30-34 days

Splinters · 18/06/2012 13:37

I had two lines this morning.. test line quite faint but definitely there. I had to wee in an old tupperware box with no lid and hide it behind the loo until dh had gone to work and I could go to Boots!

Last cycle was monster 42 days and I didn't detect any trace of EWCM this month, but this is cd30 this time around and the due date calculator says 23rd Feb. It's all a bit surreal.

Pinkie29 · 18/06/2012 13:52

Welcome and congrats splinters!

Same boat as me with the lengthy cycles then!

zanywany · 18/06/2012 13:54

It sound to me as though your a definate Pinkie even if you tested on cd29. I ended up doing 5 tests as I couldn't believe it wasnt sure of my cycle as I had only just come off the pill. I thought at 38 it would take me ages to get pregnant.

Pinkie29 · 18/06/2012 14:27

zany must have done over 20 tests!! If I have a bad night i check on the morning luckily I bought a load of Internet cheapies, the pg line comes up instantly now and is darker than the control line, just crossing everything that it's all ok and won't come on as usual! Just been having some odd cramps today which are exactly like my af :/

somethingwittynot · 18/06/2012 14:31

you can get AF cramps all the way through pinkie if your worried go talk to your gp they might send you for an early scan if you hype up the cramps Grin

Splinters · 18/06/2012 14:39

I've been having cramps for about a week. No other symptoms (apart from a bit knackered, but thought maybe I was just being lazy) and in fact it was the period-style cramping minus the period that made me think sth might be going on.. In fact now I know there's probably/actually/probably someone in there, maybe I'm feeling the cramps a bit more just for effect!

Pinkie could be just a rumour, but I've heard that a dark test line on a stick definitely indicates pregnancy? Hope you're feeling ok though.

somethingwittynot · 18/06/2012 14:44

should i be worried that might internet cheapys are only getting slightly darker/pinker now? but my first response tests were both obvious BFPs and there a branded test so id rather trust those if that makes sense?

Pinkie29 · 18/06/2012 14:47

Lol thanks splinters haha Grin

something I've got my mw appointment friday so I'll try exaggerate there, I know this sounds daft but I honestly thought you got a positive test then felt nothing down there till the first kick! More often than not I can feel something going on! Been looking at the pics online and just think its all so amazing!!

somethingwittynot · 18/06/2012 14:52

well i actually had impantation cramps this time! and have had AF cramps on and off i started getting movemenets at 16 weeks with DS and then round ligament pain and SPD both kicked in at 18 weeks

everythinghappensforareason · 18/06/2012 15:04

Thanks guys, Does anyone no how they date pregnancies with short cycles :/ usualy from 1st day of last period, asuming u have a 28day cycle? mine is 25 days, and i ovulate 14days before AF, so im guessing it would be the same as if i had a typical 28day cycle and ovulated day 14? i ovulate day 11 tho. so got a feeling the date dr gives me and ultrasound will be a few days different. x x
