Thought I'd get the ball rolling as I know there have been some BFPs in the last few days on here.....

Just got a confirmatory BFP on a clear blue. This will be DC2, DC1 will be two in two weeks!

So grab a seat, buckle up and enjoy the vino soft drinks on offer.

Ps is it really bad that I am craving a jug of Pimm's?!

its a 2011 twins freestlye cool as i need a double but they do singles to. just type in double prams and click on this one its black and on the front page has the make next to it and then theres a link to the shop :)

LittleMissSnowShine · 17/06/2012 21:15

I started off with a Maclaren techno xlr which I really liked, small to fold up, nippy, not too heavy, reclines fully, good price etc. But DS is sooo tall for his age and he's a foot dragger and he'd never put his feet up on the foot rest so we had to sell the Maclaren about 5 months ago and I bought a Britax B Twin on ebay. I love it! It's not tiny but it fold up small for fitting under the stairs and into the car, you can have baby facing in or away, lie flat or in a car seat or a proper pram seat, you can easily adapt for a toddler to sit at the bottom. My fav half price purchase of 2012!

morecoffee / queen - watching sisters keeper in bed too (channel hopping to big bro too - it's pretty stupid entertainment as u can imagine but it's funny too!)

BeanDunne · 17/06/2012 21:18

Im watching it and feel like crying already...

MrsM80 · 17/06/2012 21:36

Haven't even thought of pushchairs yet! My there is so much to think of I really don't know where to start! We'd need a pretty small foldable one as for all the car boot is pretty big we have a small porch area leading directly into our living room from the front door and that is where pushchair would have to live. Must start doing some research and list writing!

LittleMissSnowShine · 17/06/2012 21:37

Sob @ this film!!

QueenOfTheDrama · 17/06/2012 21:51

I've decided to watch the film on 4+1 at 10pm instead as couldn't resist a nice long bath first Smile Hope I can stay awake till the end!

Has anyone looked at icandy prams, if so any thoughts? I quite fancy an icandy strawberry.

everythinghappensforareason · 17/06/2012 21:52

QueenOfTheDrama · 17/06/2012 22:09

Ahh hope your DS is feeling better soon littlemiss and that you all manage to get a better nights sleep tonight.

Hi everything great to see you over here on the other side Smile And congratulations again!

DinkyPenguin · 17/06/2012 22:23

(this is MrsM80 with a new name as other one was boring!)

Got my appointment with GP tomorrow. Not sure what to expect but very excited. Hopefully it will feel more real one DH and I have discussed this pregnancy lark with someone else!

What usually happens at the first GP appointment?

HappyLittleLady · 17/06/2012 22:24

Hi everyone hope you don't mind me joining you all, I'm 5 weeks today (according to my dates, although I think I am a little less) I have 1 DS and have had 2 mc's 1 July last year and 1 Feb this year so I'm really nevous and excited at the same time. Hoping everything will be ok this time. Hope you are all doing ok and congratulations to everyone Grin x

ps. my due date would be around 17 Feb :)

DinkyPenguin · 17/06/2012 22:32

Welcome happylittlelady and congratulations! Hope all goes well for you this time.

I reckon I should be due around 15th Feb. It'll be my first so I'm totally clueless, ha ha. Off to see GP tomorrow, yay!

LittleMissSnowShine · 17/06/2012 22:33

Dinky - depends on your gp but usually not a great deal, gp will prob make the referral for you to.the hospital or birth centre you want to go to. Gp might flag up in his referral if theres anything that hospital needs to take into consideration from your medical history, gp will prob take your blood pressure and ask when your last period was and that will pretty much be that! Booking in appt at hospital / birthing centre will follow soon and its a lot more thorough. Good luck with it all 2moro tho :) tis v exciting!

Hi happy!

morecoffeemorecoffee · 17/06/2012 22:49

Hi dinky like the new name! Like littlemiss says, depends on your gp but also where you are in the country! Where I am, gp does not refer us to hospital or birth centre. Our gp surgery has community midwife assigned to our surgery so referral is quite quick. I saw gp on Fri and I'm seeing midwife in wed! Midwife does her appts with me either in my own home or gp surgery. My booking in appt on wed will be at home.

eggandbean · 17/06/2012 22:50

Ooo each time I come here there are new people - welcome and congrats, join the Feb 2013 crew :) Happy and Dinky I'm due mid feb too, as are quite a few of us I guess!

Just had skype chat with my best friend and she tells me she's pregnant! 12 weeks, so she is 7 weeks ahead of me. I'm over the moon for her, and it strangely wasn't even that hard not telling her about myself as she was gushing and so excited having just had her scan etc, and it weirdly wouldn't have even felt appropriate to tell her about me! I'm so so excited though, last year she got married 8 weeks before I did (we were each other's bridesmaids) and now we are going to have our first DCs the same distance apart too, fx everything works out OK for us both. Wow wow wow!

Quick silly question - when you go to your first mw appointment, is there any need to bring ones DH? I'm expecting it to be fairly routine, I've got a long list of questions etc but didn't want him to miss out on anything exciting...?! I feel so clueless about these things! Thanks.

DinkyPenguin · 17/06/2012 22:52

Thanks littlemiss, I'll not expect too much then. Just be glad to get things started tbh.

Feeling sleepy and think I'm going to hit the sack. Night all!

LittleMissSnowShine · 17/06/2012 22:56

Yes, my old gp had a midwife attached to practice my new one doesnt but cant say i'll miss her cos she was a bit crap lol

Egg - think dh only really needs to be thwre for hospital first appt in case they need family medical history off him. For first mw appt tho, prob not?

Tears at this movie!

somethingwittynot · 17/06/2012 23:31

i have a my4 for now wich i love love but i probably will be selling it. its made by the same people who make quinny

QueenOfTheDrama · 18/06/2012 00:15

Welcome happy Smile. Good luck for tomorrow dinky let us know how it goes!

egg I was going to ask the same question re DH coming to appointments. In my area you don't even see your GP, it's just straight to the mw for booking in at 8wks. I gather this is when they'll ask about medical history etc? Should I take DH with me or would it be ok to make sure I know all about his family's medical history before I go?

carries · 18/06/2012 06:25

egg and queen I didn't take my DH to any MW appts as it was slap bang in the middle of the working day. With the first pregnancy he did come to a couple of the consultant appts I had amd scans, of course. IRC the main medical history they need to know is neural defects/spina bifidi. There's prob others but I've forgotten :)

BeanDunne · 18/06/2012 06:30

Morning all :D
Welcome Everything and happy welcome to the club. Wow we are getting so many newbies>

Well i was a mess after that film last night... i even cried through the ads. i was trying to explain to dp that i wasn't sad i just couldn't stop crying. it was silly.

Have a meeting today with my manager again...this complaint lark is stressful. The bully will feel like such an arse when she realizes i'm pregnant....or maybe she wont.

How is everyone today??

LittleMissSnowShine · 18/06/2012 06:56

Morning!

DS had us up at 4 again with his back teeth / sore ear - only way to get him back over was calpol and dh getting into bed with him. DS is in a toddler bed from ikea (ie small!) and my DH is about 6'2. They're both still asleep in there - funny sight!

Buay day in work coming up tho and need to leave car into garage cos something has gone wrong with power steering Confused

I'd love a lie in tho!! Hope everyone is well today :)

LittleMissSnowShine · 18/06/2012 07:01

Ps - egg/queen, carries is right, its just any hereditary illnesses and things like whether u or DH had 'clicky' hips when u were babies. Only appts he might want to be there for really are the scans and if your hospital does parentcraft/delivery prep classes. Make sure u bring a book or magazine, always loads of waiting around!

Mollusk · 18/06/2012 07:01

Ugh, just woke up from a dream where they told me my baby was no longer viable but wouldn't tell me what to do next. Then I got lost in an old ladies' clothing department. Parse that, Freud!
