Thought I'd get the ball rolling as I know there have been some BFPs in the last few days on here.....

Just got a confirmatory BFP on a clear blue. This will be DC2, DC1 will be two in two weeks!

So grab a seat, buckle up and enjoy the vino soft drinks on offer.

Ps is it really bad that I am craving a jug of Pimm's?!

bean your video is fab! Your dad looks over the moon, bless him! Smile

I'm another one still testing, using up the last of my cheapies. Its been amazing watching the line go from really faint just 8 days ago to as dark as the control line yesterday! Only got about 4 tests left now so going to stop testing once they're gone!

Re private scans, like morecoffee said - JNO18 if you can afford it then go for it! I'm the most impatient person in the world so think there'll be another scan thrown in there somewhere, maybe a 4D one between 20-30wks like something I just don't know if I can wait till 40wks to see my baby! I see most of you aren't going to find out the sex? I'm undecided yet, I'm dying to know (impatient!) but then think it would be lovely to wait till the end. DH doesn't want to know. Still got a while to decide though!

pinkie I'm 5wks Monday so exactly 1 week behind you Smile

QueenOfTheDrama · 16/06/2012 09:10

haha JNO18 I know what you mean, I'm off shopping shortly and think I might need a little nap afterwards!

morecoffeemorecoffee · 16/06/2012 09:10

pinkie your nearly halfway through 1st trimester!!

So, I'm about 5 weeks now.... is it too early to be checking out pushchairs, sterilisers, breast pumps etc online?

BeanDunne · 16/06/2012 09:12

more iv been looking at that stuff since i found out.
we were out shopping yesterday and i had to stop myself buying thing

LittleMissSnowShine · 16/06/2012 09:14

JNO18 - I thought about a private scan the last time but the thing that put me off is what if they do find something wrong... Obviously some places where you can get a private scan are proper private healthcare clinics but there's a lot of other places where they really just do the scannng and there's a radiographer but no dr or midwife on hand. If they pick up any kind of problem when you're in having an NHS scan there's a whole raft of medical professionals right there to ask questions to, to reassure you, to explain things etc. That and what Pinkie said - there's not much to see! I had an early scan the last time cos my cycles were SO out of whack that my dates were about 5 or 6 weeks out so my 12 week scan by dates was actually only 6 weeks by baby iykwim? You can literally see nothing, just a flicker on the screen where the heartbeat is. But if you are desperate to see it and you don't mind the risk, then go for it! (tho i'd prob be tempted to do what somethingwitty is doing and wait til u can have a 4D one at 26 weeks, i might do that this time too!)

Also feeling relatively symptom free apart from the after lunch so tired i think i'm going to black out spell which only lasts for about an hour. Boobs a wee bit sore, v slight cramping and no sickness...as yet! Only 4+3 tho so plenty of timeto be complaining about nausea, sore back, bad skin, heart burn, needing to wee all the time etc etc

MrsRT · 16/06/2012 09:17

Pinkie29 · 16/06/2012 09:26

carries · 16/06/2012 09:33

Can I join this thread? :). I got a faint positive on Tuesday, retested Wednesday still faint line, retested Friday - BFP with huge sore boobs, metallic taste & tired. I think I'm due 12th feb. It's our 3rd, and totally and utterly unplanned. DD1 is 8 and Dd2 is 5. But when I told DH he was so delighted. And now I am too, even though we hadn't planned to have anymore kids. Was actually making moves to retrain. Had taken a 7 year career break but now the kids are at school ready to go back to physiotherapy. Don't know what to do know! Also we don't have any baby gear - no buggy, cot, car seat, clothes, toys. And no maternity bras or clothes! It was all given away (well, I binned the bras).

Like others, the difficult part is not telling anyone. I don't want GPs to let it slip to the girls & I don't want to tell the girls until past the first trimester and it's all quite "safe". But I can't not talk about it to family cos its having such an impact on our "plans". As I've said on another pregnancy thread, I'm so happy and looking forward to having a larger family! :o

carries · 16/06/2012 09:39

MrsM80 - with my 2nd pregnancy I didn't get any symptoms till about 7/8 week mark. Don't worry! Remember some folk don't even realise they're pregnant till the 6 month part Shock

BeanDunne · 16/06/2012 09:43

Welcome carries congrats on no 3 xx

how bad is it to eat cold domino's for breakfast?

carries · 16/06/2012 09:48

It's bad but eat while you can :). By 8 weeks with previous 2 I was off food except salt & vinegar crisps, fruit & veg!

QueenOfTheDrama · 16/06/2012 09:52

Welcome carries & congratulations Smile

somethingwittynot · 16/06/2012 09:57

I'm looking at the bugaboo donkey might require some major saving but can be used as a single ansd a double parent and world faces and can have a carrycot. To anyone who doesn't need a double and has a small car I really recommend the my4. Love love love it! So I'm feeling pretty nauseus and have a darker line on my test. Gooood. Were not findind out the sex but DP has nicknamed them splodge :)

Pinkie29 · 16/06/2012 10:07

bean the old thing wrong there is the Dominoes is cold Smile I find eating helps my queasiness although yesterday I really didn't want to eat and sat at work looking very green for an hour!

BeanDunne · 16/06/2012 10:10

I wake up so hungry i feel sick but then i eat and eat and eat and im fine.
Chocolate is the only thing that is making me want to throw up at the minute...imagine not being able to eat chocolate. its a sick joke i tell ya a very sick joke. Grin

Pinkie it was warm last night but i just couldn't eat the whole thing

perfectshadeofgrey · 16/06/2012 10:35

sazzababs · 16/06/2012 10:48

Hey Everyone!
Thought I'd best add myself to the ever-growing list of Feb Mums! I'm more of an occasional lurker, so forgive me if it takes a whole to respond! 6 weeks 1 day here and still trying to get my head around it XD I'm also still trying to figure out how to successfully carry off the 'can't drink booze because...' excuse, as I have a hen do tonight... I have kidney problems, so the 'I'm back on Meds so I'm aff it' should work XD Happy Saturday every peeps! :)

D30rvg · 16/06/2012 11:19

Hi Ladies

Sorry I have been quiet the past couple of days. Thought I would update you on progress. After the light spotting of blood on Thursday nothin else happened & no more bleeding. Then yesterday at around 10.30am I noticed more blood. Thought nothing more of it & went back to teaching. Whilst teaching I started getting quite painful pains that I can only describe as period pains in back & stomach. I went back to loo to find more blood. At lunchtime I rang nhs direct who told me to make an appointment with my gp. I rang gp who were able to fit me in 3 hrs later. I manage to get home & have a sleep before the appointment (school have been great). When I got to gp she basically told me what nhs direct had told me & that there was nothing she could do & that I had to go to a&e at the maternity hospital (I work round the corner from the hospital & could have got there 3 hours earlier!)

When I got to the hospital I was seen by the loveliest of staff. I had to give a urine sample. By this time my bleeding was quite heavy & there were clots. I was given an internal examination by a dr. She said that neck of womb still closed but she is concerned with the amount of blood loss & that we need to start preparing ourselves for a miscarriage. They then gave me a blood test to get a baseline for pregnancy hormones.

The test shows that there is a pregnancy hormone in my body. I have to go back tomorrow for another blood test. If hormone result goes up then I am still pregnant if it goes down then the pregnancy has ended.

Dh & I are remaining as positive as possible. We understand that these things do happen. One major positive from all this is that we were both told that we couldn't conceive naturally & that IVF was our only option. This has shown that natural conception is possible & that has to be a good thing.

Take care everyone x x

BeanDunne · 16/06/2012 11:37
