Thought I'd get the ball rolling as I know there have been some BFPs in the last few days on here.....

Just got a confirmatory BFP on a clear blue. This will be DC2, DC1 will be two in two weeks!

So grab a seat, buckle up and enjoy the vino soft drinks on offer.

Ps is it really bad that I am craving a jug of Pimm's?!

any action

Pinkie29 · 12/06/2012 09:31

The two greatest pleasures in this world haha! I googled a little (slaps wrist!) and it seems fairly common to cramp afterwards, I had a mammoth sleep and feel awake for the first time in about two weeks!

cheeseandmushroomtoastie · 12/06/2012 09:59

I am 6 weeks today! Feels like I have known forever too!

I am 6 weeks and unfortunately have had really bad cramping and some blood the past week. Went to the early pregnancy clinic this morning and they scanned me and I seen the little prawn, heartbeat and everything! So so relieved! Had to have the "vag-cam" but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting!

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 12/06/2012 12:45

Great news mrs rt, you must have been really worried..

Pinkie29 · 12/06/2012 12:46

That's brilliant MrsMT!! Glad all is well! I've rang the doc about my cramps as getting a bit worried, I'm heading towards being one of those crazy first timers that rings the doc at a hiccup!!

QueenOfTheDrama · 12/06/2012 12:50

Great news mrsRT

pinkie don't worry about calling the doctor or midwife, it's what they're there for! Smile

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 12/06/2012 13:21

Good news MrsRT, how exciting to see something! I can't wait for my first scan, the next three weeks are going to be the longest ever! Feels like a month since my BFP, but it was actually only last Thursday!

Had my GP appt this morning, didn't see my own doctor as they make you wait weeks to see your own, and to be honest I don't really like him anyway! Pleased I saw a locum today though, although I was over half hour late going in and seeing him as a man close to retirement, I thought I was going to get very angry - how wrong was I - he was really lovely and obviously running late as he didn't just process me out the door, he actually listened and congratulated me! If only he was resident at my practice :(

Have been chuckling about Pinkies post all morning, I have read about the cramps after such activity and lots of suggestions of "get your husband to give you a nice back rub afterwards", not something I have had to worry about for a little while Blush

BackPackBackPack · 12/06/2012 13:29

Great news MrsRT.

I'm currently approx 6 weeks pregnant. I had a phone call from my MW this morning. She is the same one who delivered DD Blush. She is going to arrange an early scan as the dates might be wrong as I have been on the Pill and my periods irregular.

Does anyone know where to get nice maternity bras? in bigger sizes?

Pinkie29 · 12/06/2012 13:31

It is quite funny reading back Grin

QueenOfTheDrama · 12/06/2012 16:26

Glad your appointment went well slightly

backpack not sure where sells nice maternity stuff yet, I think I need bigger bras too though, I'm spilling out of my normal ones already! Grin

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 12/06/2012 16:50

You just need ones with no underwire. I got a two pack from mothercare, get yourself measured properly. Your going to have droopy tits for the foreseeable sadly your not supposed to wear wired ones!

BackPackBackPack · 12/06/2012 17:04

Queen I'm spilling out of mine already aswell. With DD I never needed any bigger ones I stayed the same size.

WhosPickle Thank you I'll go to Mothercare tomorrow.

I have my Midwife booking in appointment. It is Sunday 24th and I will be having an early scan as we don't know the dates :). It's all starting to feel real now :o

HulaBoola · 12/06/2012 17:08

Hi all,
Lovely to read your messages and know I'm not alone.

Boobs are killing but have never been so huge - poor DH, I won't let him near them!
Feel horribly nauseous in the mornings - seems I just have to keep eating to calm it down. Trying to shove carrots, bananas, coconut etc in my mouth but biscuits are far more tempting!!

Mother in law has already been on the phone telling me I must be careful with what I eat or I'll turn into a blob like my sister in law did!!!
Oh and very tired - just had to have a nap in the loos at work after lunch. Just sat down, rested my head on the cubical compartment and fell asleep! I'm gobsmacked!
Just starting wk 7. Apparently wk 8 is crucial time and when most misc***es happen as thats when your body is used to shedding lining. So, anyone in wk 8 - take it very gently.
On the bra front - what's the science behind not wearing underwired & do we need to be thinking about that already? I'm going to need all the support I can get for as long as possible!!
Good luck all. Still dying to tell people but holding it for now. x

D30rvg · 12/06/2012 17:49

Happy Birthday mrsfleur hope your appointment went well.

Pinkie I've just read your post whilst cooking tea. Good job I'm starving and there is nothing that can put me off my food atm!

I don't think I could cope with the idea of non-wired bras. I'm 38DD without any pregnancy growth. I dread to think how much bigger they are going to get & I don't think non-wired could cut it.

I feel like I've been pregnant for ages but I'm only 4+4 & I only got my bfp on Thursday. If this is how slow it is going to go I don't know what I'll do. Although I had nausea over weekend this seems to have subsided and I have no other symptoms. Makes me feel a bit of phoney!

Got my midwife appointment today - 29th June. They don't know whether to do an early scan as my dates are so irregular. Will find out when I go.

Really enjoy these posts!

CrazySexyCool123 · 12/06/2012 17:49

Hula I'm really worried about being too tired at work! My shifts can be up to 15 hours at the weekend and ive got 2in a row this week. I'm going to start looking up foods which give a safe energy boost. Has anyone found any that work? I've been off today and just woken up from a 2.5 hr nap Grin
Eating healthy is difficult at work but easy at home as DP is on a mega healthy diet. There's lots of healthy stuff in the fridge but I do have a stash of kitkat chunkys for emergencies :)

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 12/06/2012 18:43

Ask the midwfie D30 might not be that bad to wear them. I havent got big knockers so Im ok.

Pinkie29 · 12/06/2012 18:51

No underwrites?! God help me I've had wires since my training bras!

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 12/06/2012 18:57

That's what I was told! I'll google it later might not be a biggy x

LittleMissSnowShine · 12/06/2012 20:00

Hello everyone!! Just got my BFP yesterday so I'm due around 20th Feb and I'm a total MN chat addict at the min cos I'm too flipping sleepy to get off the sofa after work Grin

Lovely to read all your stories, v excited at the min but have only told DH (obviously enough!), my mum and a friend of mine who is also preg at the minute and that's it because it's still way too early to go public so it's great to have MN to hang out and chat about winter pregnancy ahead, cooking xmas dinner with a big bump and all of that kinda stuff!

PS - re underwired bras, most midwives say NOOOOO!! i hav big boobs and it was hell wearing those flipping maternity bras when i was pg with DS. Take my advice and don't spend a lot of money on them - they look hideous whether they cost a fiver or thirty quid! But underwire can supposedly damage milk ducts so....

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 12/06/2012 20:05

Thought it was something like that.

I didnt care by the end, they were floppy and sat on my bump!

Welcome LittleMiss. Your about the same as me. Only I was a nob and did my test over a week ago!

LittleMissSnowShine · 12/06/2012 20:16

Ha ha whospickle - i thought I saw a bit of implantation bleeding on friday night so i didn't dare test until after the weekend, just to make sure!

Yep, pregnancy floppy boobs! Worst bit for me last time was that my boobs didn't really get any bigger during preg (tho they were massive when i was b/f) but had massive bump and all weight piled onto my backside. Third trimester joys ahead Grin

Pinkie29 · 12/06/2012 20:19

Welcome littlemiss Smile

I can't believe how quick my boobs are growing!! I'm usually a b/c but they look more d/e now! Praying no-one notices!

QueenOfTheDrama · 12/06/2012 20:26

haha I might get my one work colleague who knows to spread a rumour that I've had a boob job and see if anyone believes her Grin

BeanDunne · 12/06/2012 20:33

Hi littlemiss were due around the same time :)

So today was my last day of under wire bra.

Today was such an exciting day my dp was on the radio and not just a call in we had to go to the studio, it was great so if any of you are irish and listen to today fm that was my dp :)
and i got to walk around Dublin rubbing my bump (wind and food baby) and looking at baby stuff. my belly was so swollen today i could have passed for being a few months. my boobs are also popping out of my best bra. gutted delighted
