Thought I'd get the ball rolling as I know there have been some BFPs in the last few days on here.....

Just got a confirmatory BFP on a clear blue. This will be DC2, DC1 will be two in two weeks!

So grab a seat, buckle up and enjoy the vino soft drinks on offer.

Ps is it really bad that I am craving a jug of Pimm's?!

Dosent seem real yet at only four weeks! My muffin top is already escaping though.

LilyRosa · 12/06/2012 21:12

ok so i've caved and told a friend whose also a midwife. was getting really bothered about how just sick i've been feeling.

It feels abit more real now that someone other my and hubby knows.

So this whole no underwire bra thing - am already a dd/e and the thought of them growing with no underwires to support is terrifying! Good excuse to go shopping though.

morecoffeemorecoffee · 12/06/2012 21:25

Hi, wondered if I can join too? I got my bfp on wed (then another on thurs and Friday!) But they were so faint I didn't want to get my hopes up. Did a clear blue digital at 3am today and got the word pregnant up in under a minute! Then did a first response this afternoon and got a lovely bold line! I am so so excited! This will be our 3rd dc. Ds1 is 6 and ds2 is 4. Been ttc this time for 18months and was starting to think it wouldn't happen.

I have very sore achey boobs, nausea on and off, faint dizzy spells and was sick yesterday morning. Also having cramps on and off, but trying not to panic.

Nice to see pinkie, queen and littlemiss from the June conception thread! Congrats to you on your pregnancies and Congrats to everyone else on here!

I think I am due mid Feb, I'm about 4weeks. My Ds birthday is mid Feb so that will be a busy month! Feb due date is a great time to have a baby! I have had 2 previous c sections due to failure to progress and large babies (both 9lbers!) So will be requesting a csection this time also.

One of the best purchases I made I'm the past for maternity clothing was bump bands. They look like a boob tube but go around your bump. I got mine from topshop. They give you a layered look when your non maternity tops startgetting too short, they offer a bit of comfort/support to stretching bump and are great after birth for hiding/supporting post birth wobbly tum. I wore them all the way through both pregnancies.

Sorry for long first post on here!

Forgot to say, only Dh and I know at the moment. Phoning gp tomorrow. Will prob tell my 3 close friends this week.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 12/06/2012 21:30

HI morecoffee I remember seeing you on the TTC threads. Congratulations you must be really pleased!

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 12/06/2012 21:31

So newly duffed up people are now on 20th Feb, we have 8 more days of Feb left! Wonder how many people will get pregnant soon!

Exciting!

Pinkie29 · 12/06/2012 21:34

Oh good idea on the boob job queen Smile

pickles it still doesn't seem real to me! Parents and a works colleague know but that's it, got mw app on 22nd hoping that will help make it more real!

morecoffee welcome Smile I like the idea of bump bands! Also saw something calmed 'belly buttons' which it like a button on the end of a hair band just extends your clothes a bit longer! I'm having a fair bit if cramping too, first timer and very nervous!! Mw and mother assure me it's all normal

LittleMissSnowShine · 12/06/2012 21:43

Hi morecoffee!! I don't really know when to tell people - 4 weeks seems so early but hard to hide from good friends and also in work :-/ Think i'm going to wait til the morning sickness kicks in tho for most friends, bit paranoid about tempting fate! Told one friend y'day tho cos she is an obstetrician and she's due in Dec with her first so we can be preg buddies Wink

Also second recommendation for bump bands!!

Lily During my last preg I just wore mothercare / h&m crappy maternity bras but after I had DS i discovered Bravado bras which are great for b/f but you can also wear them during preg. They're quite like sports bras (tho they do have a more glam version too), and they have slightly molded cups. They come in good colours, black, red, nude - no patterns, no lace, no frill and soooooOOooo comfy! And great for b/f too, so think i might buy a couple to get me through this time. Still in underwired for the min tho, not too uncomfortable yet (phew)

Whospickle - yep, muffin top!! Gutted cos i've been going to zumba and trying to eat fairly healthily and i was starting to look pretty trim and in the last week...bloat! Going to need those elastic-y button loop things for trousers if this keeps up lol

BeanDunne - Love a bit of Today Fm - I'm in Belfast tho. Didn't hear your DH today tho cos I was working, sounds like a nice shopping trip tho!

LittleMissSnowShine · 12/06/2012 21:46

Pinkie - Yes, belly buttons! Never got round to using these the last time cos i threw up so much during first trimester i actually lost weight and clothes were hanging off me and then by the time that stopped...pop, proper bump! So just went straight into maternity leggings/trousers etc. Going to be strange this time, last time I was mega preg in the height of summer, this time it'll be height of winter so no huge tees & crocs hee

QueenOfTheDrama · 12/06/2012 21:47

Hi morecoffee Congrats again! And thanks for the advice re bump bands, I never realised what they were for until now Blush Might look into it getting some in a few months Smile I'm going to phone GP tomorrow too - wanted to wait until then as thats my af due date! Silly I know, still testing twice a day and according to them still pg!!

lily great idea about shopping for bras - I am desperate to start buying baby things, been browsing online for ages this evening! But don't really want to buy anything until at least after the first scan. So buying stuff for myself in the meantime sounds like an acceptable alternative! Grin

morecoffeemorecoffee · 12/06/2012 22:03

Those bras sound perfect littlemiss will look into them. My boobs, esp my nipples are sooooooo sore!

Looking forward to telling my 3 friends. We all have some dc around the same age and have gone through so much together re ttc/mc/chem pregs that it makes sense to share with them. I expect we will tell our parents on a few weeks and then everyone else after 1st scan. I'm a sahm so no boss to tell as I left my job last month to concentrate on ttc as I was in a stressful job working nights.

eggandbean · 12/06/2012 22:59

Slightly - glad it went well at Docs :)

MrsRT ? you too, hurrah! What a wonderful relief that must have been.

Pinkie ? your post made me chuckle too but sorry to hear you were worried. You feelnig OK now?

Loved Hulas story of falling asleep in the toilets at work! Did nobody notice you were missing?

I went half-heartedly looking for non-underwired bras yesterday and couldn?t find any. I only made it as far as Peacocks (resent having to pay too much for something like this..thanks LittleMiss for saying we don?t need to spend loads..) so might try Mothercare as suggested, thanks. I don?t have giant knockers either but they definitely feel a little on the swollen / sore side now.

Never heard of bump bands but they sound super, will definitley investigate those too. What with you guys and all my new apps, I'm learning so many new things each day, and I've still not even bought a book!

I have felt really sick this evening, horrid, far too many points when I thought I was going to actually throw up :( I know it's good as means I'm def still preggars but at the same time - bleurgh! (surprised there's no pukeface smiley to insert here..)

Night all. Sorry for long post.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 12/06/2012 23:04

Envy this looks a bit like a puke face.

QueenOfTheDrama · 12/06/2012 23:11

Sorry you're not feeling well egg but at least you're looking on the positive side that it means all is well Smile

morecoffee I'm going out for dinner on Friday with my best friends so going to tell them then and swear them to secrecy, can't wait!

TMI alert! I was in the bath earlier and as I lay there I started getting what I can only describe as stabbing pains INSIDE my fanjo. Like quite low down but definitely inside iykwim. Its stopped now, I have had an achy fanjo for a few days, sometimes happens when af is on its way. But this thing in the bath before actually hurt a bit. Any ideas anyone? Bit worried now. Confused

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 12/06/2012 23:18

Can't remember it but you get all sorts of funny twinges. Unless very painful don't worry too much.

Feel SadAngryEnvyEnvySad today.

Need moreSmile less Angry

cheeseandmushroomtoastie · 12/06/2012 23:28

Hi to all the newbies. I don't log on for half a day and we have a load of new faces Grin

Well I am still shattered. For some reason I keep waking up around 6 am and then am not able to fall asleep again, which is v. Annoying as I am so tired, big fat vicious circle.

I have tomorrow off though as its ds's 2nd birthday Confused where did those two years go?! Quite excited though, just filled the living room with balloons, put his presents and cards on the fireplace, couple of banners up and some helium balloons ( 3 for £5- filled! From asda, bargain!!!!) DH has planned a long lunch ie 4 hours, in the middle of his working day so we can take him to the local rural centre which he loves, there's a cute cafe
there, and a train that goes around the farm, blah blah but he will love it.

Am planning on having a nap with ds though tomorrow. I need it! Also might bake a cake for him - haven't baked in ages!

An officially 6 weeks today. Why oh why did I test so early?! Til I'm in double figures I'm not even telling anyone. Sometimes in the day I forget I'm pregnant. Bad mummy Blush

Really craving Brie though.... And sushi. And must must must reduce my caffeine intake.

OP posts:
cheeseandmushroomtoastie · 12/06/2012 23:36

Quick question, are we all earnings our eggs fully cooked for the next 35 odd weeks? Really fancy poached eggs. It's our weekend tradition Sad

OP posts:
cheeseandmushroomtoastie · 12/06/2012 23:37

Eating, not earning eggs. That would be very impractical Grin

OP posts:
monstergoose · 12/06/2012 23:55

I'm 6wks today as well-it seems like ages since i got my BFP but still ages til I can get properly excited and tell people! Still, everyday that goes by is another day towards the magic 12 weeks!

I'm finding it hard to avoid 'bad' food too-went to a nice pub the other week and loads of stuff i'd normally have were off limits-gutted! I think the eggs will probably be ok though-all lionmarked eggs in this country are vaccinated against salmonella and I think that is the main problem-I'm not licking the raw cake batter spoon but I'm not going to stop having runny yolks!(waiting for more knowledgable people to strike me down!)

I've not got any major symptoms yet apart from bigger sore boobs although this morning did feel a little nauseous-is it wrong to be pleased about that?!

Swanlike · 13/06/2012 00:15

Hi everyone. Pinkie, I almost had a fight with the very patient bra lady in John Lewis when she told me that I couldn't have underwiring! It was a sad moment. I'm very scared about how big and saggy they're going to get - I've gone from a 34E to a 36FF already and it's only 6 weeks today. It is more comfortable without the wires though.

Had a lovely appointment with my cheery Irish doctor this morning who congratulated me and then just told me to take folic acid and not to eat Brie and to relax basically. Have the midwife's appointment in 2 weeks time.

Then had my mum call me to tell me that my sister-in-law who has just had her 20 week scan is having another boy. (I have a brother and male cousins who've also all had boys) she then said 'It's down to you now to give me a grand daughter' She was joking, but I had to bite my lip. I want to get more used to the idea myself as it was a surprise before telling anyone else....

McPrice · 13/06/2012 07:28

Congrats to all the new mums to be.
queenof: omg would make me chuckle if we are! not sure our employers would be happy though! im based in surrey. Its been my first week of working shifts pregnant, my 10 hour late shifts I was exhuasted and starving but due to staffing levels not able to take food break, its even difficult finding time to dash for a pee (which are becoming more frequent :() we'll see how night shifts go....still keeping schtum although eyebrows have been raised due to me drinking decaff at work.

Still off caffine and all things tasty, once the babys born im gonna get 1x bottle of wine and 1x huge coffee and a takeaway pizza...oh but will be breast feeding so looks like that will have to wait!

The husband has mellowed a little and is reading every baby book under the sun, I think he knows more than me now (this morning he asked what type of pain relief i was concidering....i havent even conciderd it!)

Keep getting night terrors which is normal for me but I am told they have become somewhat more intense and frequent, this is fine for me because i rarely remember them, but not so good for the neighbours or suffering hubby!

LittleMissSnowShine · 13/06/2012 07:47

chreseandmushroom im a total egg phobic so none for me!
But im.with u on forgetting im pg all the time ha ha - long may it last cos in.a few months time the bump/swollen feet make it pretty hard to forget lol

whospickle yes thats a good puke face, green & not amused!

queen - yep I also remember the funny twinges downstairs, just light cramping for me so far!

morecoffeemorecoffee · 13/06/2012 08:53

So hungry this morning, but could not face eating :( made a smoothie instead (strawberry, blueberries and banana with skimmed milk and a scoop of oats) very tasty and will hopefully keep me going until lunchtime.

Re eggs, in my last pregnancies I did have the occasional runny yolk if I cooked them at home as I knew how fresh the eggs were and that they had the lion mark. I just avoided eggs when eating out.

Are peanuts ok to eat during pregnancy now? During my last 2 pregnancies they were a no no and I love peanut butter etc!

QueenOfTheDrama · 13/06/2012 09:07

cheese monster more - Reading all of your posts I just realised how little I know about what food is/isn't safe in pregnancy! Had no idea about eggs, peanuts, etc, need to do some reading methinks!

pickle & littlemiss Thanks for the reassurance re twinges in my nether regions, all feels ok today and I know its all probably normal but it makes me feel better to have you lot reminding me of that Smile

Happy birthday to your DS cheese - hope you all have a lovely day Smile

swanlike - no pressure then! Are you going to find out what you're having?

mcprice I'm up north so not same place as you, would have been funny though! You must be knackered, I'm on earlies all week and thats bad enough, had to have a nap when I got in yesterday as was so tired! No one seems to have noticed a thing so far though. Are you waiting until 12wks to tell them then? Thats my plan, but will have to see how I go.

BabylannShallFall · 13/06/2012 09:28

Hey everyone, I've got my midwife today - kinda terrified! I have anxiety disorder which makes me have panic attacks whenever I see a blood pressure monitor, and I know one will be present! My pulse rate is always really high at the doctors and they never believe me when I say I'm just anxious, do I have to go for ecgs all the time even though I know my heart is fine, they even made me have one during labour! I hate them and I'm terrified I'm opening that can of worms again...

As for bump bands, I've heard they're good for helping or even preventing spd - I had it first time and definitely don't want it again! Does anyone have experience of using one for spd?
