Good luck to TIL!

My dh has been sleeping on a futon mattress in the living room for months

Sheesh, I really hope this baby comes this weekend, because I don't think I can cope with another week of school runs - it's so depressing! I think I'm going to wear a sign on my forehead saying "no, I haven't had it yet!"

Astrophe · 24/02/2006 15:57

Thanks marne.

Could just be some Braxton Hicks?

Hope you're ok. I guess you are not due for a little while?

Frizbetheexpansionset · 24/02/2006 16:45

Hi all

Must go and look for TIL's thread in a mo! how exciting although pity its not me or any of the other 4 of us still hanging in on the feb thread.....

Lol at the spicey food Astrophe, I'm just making chilli as we speak! I'd try Tesco.com, or John lewis for sheets, both a good bet (if you don't mind the ethics of buying from Tesco)

Marne, hope your not in labour if you don't want to be, haven't checked the stats so unsure when your due, if your end of the month, you may just be having a warm up?

InternationalGirl · 24/02/2006 17:32

Thanks for the good wishes on the car Friz - has been a big worry for me as coming up for 36 weeks we're getting close. It has been an eventful 6 yrs since dd2 was born but I still can't believe she'll be 6 next week - they grow up too fast.

Had several lovely people at work call to see if I was okay - I must have looked terrible yesterday and I was even wearing makeup! There were also offers of assistance should we find ourself in serious need without a car so that has eased my mind a little.

Spent the day pretty much resting on the sofa so I feel a little better now.

You ladies eating the spicy food are brave - I think I would spend the rest of the night feeling like my chest was on fire!! Already having to pop a couple of antacids every night before bed just so I can try to sleep.

Hope totallyinlove is holding her babe by now and it would be great to see some action from you few 'due in Feb' - I think you should be next - Friz - you up for it?

Marne · 24/02/2006 17:36

Think its just braxton hicks, i would'nt mind if it was labour pains but dh is tierd and grumpy and does'nt want it to happen tonight. Im only 36+3 so it would be a little early. Think i might of over done it with the nesting today. I think if i'm in labour i will be going to hospital on my own because dh is being a toss*r and moaning at me. The pains are more in my back than my bump but they are comming and going evry 15 mins or so, lets hope they stop soon.

balancingact · 24/02/2006 17:48

Whoooohoooo! My last day today at work! The next time i post here - and for the next 6 months will be from home! Hurrah! Am feeling very excited about resting at home for a bit and not having to get up at 6am! (well at least, not for work). I hope bubba #2 not TOO early!
How exciting for all of you feeling contractions now....

vickiyumyum · 24/02/2006 18:01

marne - you can't have yours yet, you're due the day after me, you have to wait until i have had mine, them is the rules! no serioulsy if dh is being a pain prob better if you wait until a really bug footy match is on and then go into labour just as it starts!!!! (evil moi??)

Frizbetheexpansionset · 24/02/2006 20:39

VYY you are evil I like it

Marne, well you won't be that early will you so everything should be fine with bubba, so it wouldn't be that bad, and the smaller they are, the less it hurts right

Balancingact, congrats on your last day at work

Int girl, it's not going to be me, another of the Feb threaders has just had a huge show! she's on her 3rd and was already 3cm dilated, so my money's on her, if this one is owt like dd, I'll still be here, well overdue next weekend, pah! whilst watching all you guys having babies on a daily basis!

RosiePosie · 25/02/2006 07:52

Well, I'll join you in the overdue club Friz - didn't I say all along I'd be late? That's why I joined the March thread instead of the Feb one

Jasnem · 25/02/2006 09:11

I should have joined March from the start, too. 41 weeks today, and no sign of a baby!

Marne · 25/02/2006 09:21

Well nothing happening here, pains have gone, must have just been a practice run, dh is looking after me today and has said i'm not aloud to do anything (he does'nt want me to go into labour till at least next week, seems to think if i do nothing then i will be ok)

RP and Friz, poor you being over due, i was lucky last time, dd came a week early and it does'nt look like i will go over this time.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 25/02/2006 09:45

Marne, I like his way of thinking! my dh has started his weekends of doing all the cooking today, he wants to set a good example to the kids, but we've already had words about the state he tried to leave the kitchen in after breakfast! I had to point out doing the cooking, or merely doing cereal and toast shouldn't produce quite that amt of mess (and the cheeky blighter still expected me to do the cleaning!) so I've pointed out I don't mind helping out clearing up, but if he makes that much mess...well you know the rest right

I'm not tech overdue until monday, so shouldn't complain right.......but I sooo thought I was due an early one this time!

Jas you can still have a good natter on both threads hon! there's still 4 of us hanging in!

UniSarah · 25/02/2006 11:28

Another blissfuly lazy saturday morning. I'm enjoying them while I can. Havn't washed up from last night yet, dh is fettling his bike in the garage and I'm catching up with e-mail etc. We have a lunch date with friends... I'm really trying to relax now.

My mum phoned from New Zealand yesterday, havn't spoken to her for 7 weeks so it was nice to have a brief chat and reassure her I'm Ok etc before they head off to the Cook Islands on the next leg of their world tour. It sounds like half of NZ will be sent birth announcments when pip shows up:-)

Sympathy for those whos dp/h's are being less than well behaved in bed. I'm snoring more than he is at the mo ( and fidgeting too) so he tends to give up before I do and decamps to the spare bed. Going to be fun if pips a snorer too.
UniSarah

Frizbetheexpansionset · 25/02/2006 12:21

Oooh a lunch date, sounds very nice Unisarah, have totally forgotten what one of those is like without a dd in tow! (makes mental note to ensure kids are ditched on dh more often!)
Well all for a chilled out afternoon here, having braved sainsburys this am.... doing whatever dd wants to do? we still have our pasta bracelets to thread up (we painted them yesterday afternoon) so that'll take half hour or so, bar that? playdough at a guess!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 25/02/2006 14:27

Quick update from camp MUNZ.....

Things arent too good, she has got an infection and is seriously aneamic. She has had a 4pts of blood and is on antibiotics.

Joey is doing well though, but feeding is a bit hit and miss, she is still perservering though so fingers crossed things will get better.

Probably be home from hospital on Monday now due to the blood and infection, but she knows its for her own good.

Will pass on any messages xx

poppyh · 25/02/2006 15:47

JandRmummy,
Please tell her I am thinking of her. Will be in hospital on Monday for section, so wont be on MN for a while, so please send her my best!!
Joey is such a cute baby and a cute name too!

catj · 25/02/2006 15:59

I know I don't post on here very often but wish Munz well from me and hope everything goes well from now on

Poppy-hadn't realised it was so soon. Good luck and look forward to seeing the birth announcement

vickiyumyum · 25/02/2006 16:11

munz- oh no, sorry to hear that, but hopefully you are in the best place and are getting better quickly, was the infection from retained placenta? or have they not said.
anyway suppose not really important the main thing is you and your family are ok and on the up, and on your way to coming home and beginning family life!
hope to see you posting here soon.

poppyh · 25/02/2006 16:15

Thanks catj.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 25/02/2006 16:15

Havent heard what the infection is, but have a feeling it was to do with stitches as she was complaining about them not feeling "right"

Will let you all know more as and when i hear it x

romilly · 25/02/2006 16:19

oh poor munzie - get well soon munzie hun

Frizbetheexpansionset · 25/02/2006 17:42

J&R's mummy have left a message for munz on beanie thread.

PoppyH just in case I forget/don't get another chance, Very good luck for Mondays C-Sect {{{Big Hugs}}} will be thinking of you.

Well guys am tempting fate for giving birth tonight/tomorrow, as my EDD on Monday is also my Grans Birthday (93!) sooo I've been out and brought her a live (plant!) present, thus am bound to not be able to give it to her and it'll have keeled over by the time I get chance right!!

Jackstini · 25/02/2006 18:48

Can see there is no way I can leave reading posts for a couple of days now - takes me an hour to catch up. Just so busy at work this week though. Only 11 more working days to go though so counting down.
Balancing Act - know just how you felt - you must be ecstatic you have finished now - yea!!
JARM - say Hi to Munzie and give her a hug. She must be a bit frustrated stuck in hospital when she wants to be at home with Joey & dh
TIL - what has happened with you - where is your birth announcements/labour update - thinking of you.
Cadmum - have you been induced yet?
Has anyone heard from Toothy too? Her CS was due on Monday - which reminds me, good luck Pop for yours next Monday!
VYY - hope your DH is being a bit kinder about the bed now. I would tip him onto the floor luv! To be fair I am the worse one in our bed at the moment - apparantly changing position every 2 minutes and breathing very loudly! Bet your bruises from Tuesday are just turning a lovely colour now...
Friz - I keep sending you labour vibes hun - maybe this baby just wants to be very punctual and come on the due date.
I feel miles behind as still not due for another 3 weeks and on Tuesday mw said head still free - not even 1/5th in Might be here til April yet...

newgirl · 25/02/2006 21:00

Hi everyone

Hi DHW - I was thinking of you the other day - I hope you are well and planning your yurt camp!

apos - if you are feeling flush, white company does nice sheets for cot beds

til - in labour!! How exciting (for us at least!)

jesmum - thanks for the updates on munz and Joseph/Joey. That is a good name choice!

Pop - good luck for monday! I wish it was me! I now really fancy a planned section - I am not very good at random - I keep waddling around thinking 'get a move on' but I think baby has got comfy wodged right across me now. I cam imagine her with her feet up kicking me in the ribs.

vyy - lots of sympathy on the bed thing! We had to buy a new bed last time - a king size as we were seriously starting to fall out about it - rows in the middle of the night when tired and hormonal - lovely. Even so, sometimes this time I ask DH to sleep elsewhere and then I sleep diagonally like a baby!! You are obviously much nicer than me and have not yet used tears and tantrums!!!

take care everyone!

spiker · 25/02/2006 22:39

hi all

have been quiet for a bit as have been super-busy with a brief spell in hospital, the last stressful week at work and house buying/moving activity. We exchanged on Friday and will be moving from London to Yorkshire on 8 March, so everything is crossed round here that baby behaves and sticks to due date (23 March). It's a real struggle finding any energy to pack and do the 101 other things that need doing pre-move though. No time to think about birth and have only got about 3 things in my hospital bag .

Am having same sleep issues with DH, partly cos I'm so big and have that late pregnancy insomnia thing, partly because he's not been well and is snoring for Britain. If only DS hadn't stopped having naps, I could catch up in the day time, but nooo....

Congrats Munz - sounds like baby is doing well, but so sorry you're having a rough time and have to stay in hospital.

Good luck for Monday Poppyh!
