romilly · 10/03/2006 15:24

thanks vikkiyy - marne and zephyrcat Smile was feeling a bit despondent yesterday when i was told that, seemed like a step backwards and with induction looming large, you want to feel progress is being made!

good luck Unisarah! sounds v. promising......

better get back to some optimal foetal positioning exercises, lol

laundrylover · 10/03/2006 15:38

Rom, sorry I felt like I really left you out there!!!
Was talking with my friend's mum last week and she had 3 kids none of which engaged before nose-diving for delivery!
Have you been bouncing on a ball - I am doing this (tho not right now!!) to try and get this one off my pubic bone and down a bit! Not sure it's working but it passes the time!

romilly · 10/03/2006 16:01

lol laundrylover - yes i have been ball-bouncing, as of last night - and my midwife said try belly-dancing type movements!!! yes, seriously.... can you imagine what a sight that will be, a heavily pregnant belly-dancing apparition - all self-respect really will go flying out the window Grin

helencook2711 · 10/03/2006 16:47

God, haven't logged on for a few days and it's just taken about and hour to read ,through everyone's news! Romilly, feeling for you being a few days over, I've still got 13 days to go and am starting to wain a little. DD is at Nannies for 3 days-what a blessing, she's just started really destructive, horrid behaviour (23m)must be sensing the time is near!
Good luck chellebelle, if not happened already. And astrophe, bet your really looking forward to that sweep by now if things aren't already moving!

Astrophe · 10/03/2006 19:52

Astro-boy was born at 11.34pm on Thurs night - 6 1/2 hour posterior labour! Elijah James weighed 4120g (9lb). We are home now and going well, my DD is really excited which is great.

Good luck to you Unisarah.

vickiyumyum · 10/03/2006 20:05

congrats astophe! 9lb good size :o

spiker · 10/03/2006 22:53

Wow..what a lot's been happening. Congrats on all the happy events!

I've been busy moving house/business from London to Leeds. Unbelievably manic. Boxes everywhere and likely to be so for some time yet. DS1 arrived with grandparents today and it is a nightmare as house is super-non-child-friendly. And the poor little man has tonsillitis too Sad

Question - has anybody out there ever had a clear show or are they always a bit pink/brown? Cos if you can have a clear show, then I think all the vigorous cleaning and moving activity might have started me off early...help!

laundrylover · 10/03/2006 23:39

Congrats Astrophe! Love the name tooGrin. 9lb - erk!!!
Spiker, welcome to the north - hope the snow broke the monotony of the rain!GrinThink my show was pink last time but FYI I have had some gloopy clear discharge this week so maybe the same thing?? Just the engine lubing up methinks!!!
Just had an hour in the pool whilst all house in peace - oh for an unbroken night's sleep.....

Dene · 11/03/2006 09:18

Hi All
Just a quick note to let you know that my little girl arrived on Tuesday morning at 5.43am. We have called her Georgia Amelia. She was 7lbs 9oz and was born by waterbirth. After posting on Monday evening saying nothing was happening, I went into labour late Monday night and left for hospital at 3am. The good news for anybody else having their second is that it does all happen a lot faster!

Well, I will post a bit more once I have some more time.

Good luck everybody for the rest of the March births Smile

vickiyumyum · 11/03/2006 09:32

congrats to you and your family dene! :o

Marne · 11/03/2006 09:40

Congratulations to Astprophe and dene, hope its true that the 2nd one is alot faster than the first but not too fast as i need time to get to the hospital and sort dd out with a babysitter.

Spiker, you can get a clear show, there was a thread about it a few weeks ago.

We have got the step kids over again today so keeping my legs closed for a few hours, would love to go into labour tonight as the midwife i have been seeing is working on the ward in the morning, it would be nice if she could be there when it happens. I expect i will still be here next week, i have to see the midwife again on the 24th (if no sign of baby) to talk about induction. Has anybody han an induction with the 2nd but not the first? i thought if the 1st was early then this one would be but i suppose it does,nt work like that.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

InternationalGirl · 11/03/2006 11:13

Congratulations to Astrophe and Dene on their new little bundles of joy! Glad it went well for you both. Smile

marne: Each birth can be very different. I was induced with dd2 but not dd1. DD1 started off and progressed naturally (except no show or waters until on the hospital bed) for an 11 hr labour from first niggles to birth however with dd2 hindwaters broke at midnight and trickled, no contractions, went to hospital in the morning, still nothing, sent home for the day and was put on syntocinon drip in hospital at 6pm to get things going - babe born approx 6 hrs later.

I had thoughts and visions this morning of the one in my belly coming so fast he is to be born in the back seat of the car on the way to the hospital! Shock Think I better prepare for a car birth ! Maybe that means we will get our car back from the repair shop before I go into labour [hopeful face] ...

Marne · 11/03/2006 11:31

lol at the car birth, last time dh made me sit on bin bags incase my waters broke in the car.

romilly · 11/03/2006 12:41

Grin marne and int' girl!

CONGRATS!!! to astrophe and dene - wonderful news

astrophe - well done on getting through the posterior birth in 6 hours! any special tips for me?!

thanks helencook for kind words. yes, i am getting v e r y impatient now. its hard to concentrate on anything else.

hope everyone else is doing well.

UniSarah · 11/03/2006 13:46

Hi - this is Paul, UniSarah's husband.

Just to let you all know that Sarah's hopes for another night's sleep were dashed as were the hopes for a simple home birth. I'll let her tell the full story if she wishes, but suffice to say that eventually she gave birth to an 8lb 9oz boy (Edward) last night at 22:04 by C-section.

Mother and baby both doing fine!

balancingact · 11/03/2006 14:11

Astrophe, Dene, and UniSarah - congratulations on your new arrivals!!! Am very envious now!

romilly · 11/03/2006 14:51

CONGRATS to Unisarah Grin and Paul - fab news!!!!!!!

any news from chellebelle?

vickiyumyum · 11/03/2006 15:04

congratulations unisarah and dh :o

look forward to reading your story.

oneofeach · 11/03/2006 19:12

hi there - typing with one hand as holding new arrival, a daughter named Bess. She arrived with frightening speed on Thursday morning. Got to the hospital at 7.35am and she came along at 7.54am. I should have known really as DD1 did much the same although she was induced so I had assumed that was why. Anyway, we were home for lunch time. It is lovely being home but it is difficult to rest and stop doing things. The first 24 hours were exhausting but after a few hours sleep everything seems much better. She was 7lb 11oz and is gorgeous. All the best to everyone still waiting.

helencook2711 · 11/03/2006 19:53

Wow what a weekend some have had!
SPIKER, you most def can have a clear show, mine was with dd1, shortly followed by waters breaking and contracts every 5 mins so best of luck-being manic may have helped!
I've had huge BH's for two nights, and can no longer eat a meal without the majority appearing a few hours later, doh!
Good Luck and Goodnight all.x

vickiyumyum · 12/03/2006 11:34

congratulations to you too oneofeach. (have you changed your name?)

took ds1 and 2 out for a chinese meal last night as our last meal out as a faily of four! was quite poignant and had a little tear in my eye as i was gettign ready. when we got there it was an eat as much as you like night for £12.95, good for dh, but i def didn't get my moneys worth, 2 sticks of chicken satay (peanuts i know, but no history of allergies in our family) and 2 duck pancakes and i was stuffed, before i even got to the noodles etc! :(

its my 30th birthday a month after the baby is born and we are trying to think of somewhere special to go out and eat near us as we were going to have a big party but don't think i'll be up to that now and have left it too late to organise it.

good luck to you all who are due this week, i feel a bit of a cheat at the moment as my c/s for thursday and so can see light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. although dh going away for work tomorrow and back on wednesday so if anything is going to happen its bound to happen whilst hes 8 hours away!

Frizbe · 12/03/2006 12:53

Hi all, sorry I've not logged on for so long, having fun trying to keep on top of things with dd and ss to entertain as well as dd2 to keep fed and happy!! lol Grin

Big Congrats to Oneof each, Astrophe, Unisarah (nice pineapple recipe too!), Dene, Ags and Toothyboy Grin hope I've not missed anyone there?

Rom sending you lots of labour vibes 'OOOOOOOOmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Failing that, try sex 'doggystyle' might shift baby to right place and set you off Wink

This worked for me on another thread!

Jack, thanks for the stats update, btw if anyone else is interested in doing these again dh and I have moved on a year, sob, now 31 and 41!

VickiYY, glad washing machine sorted out! phew

Chellebelle any news?

Balancing act, my life is a laundry room at the mo, between feeding, changing and playing with all Grin

Sorry if I've missed anyoneout but big Hi's to all, will try and log on again soon.

laundrylover · 12/03/2006 13:16

Blinkin' eck girls it's baby bonanza!!!
I'll just say congrats to all so that I don't miss anyone out and will keep an eye out under birth announcements for details....
We are house bound due to blizzard outside and pool needs emptying and refilling so I guess this would be a really bad time for the baby to come!!

coppertop · 12/03/2006 13:33

Wow! I can hardly keep up with all the new arrivals. Congratulations to you all. :):):)

Nothing much is happening here except for me mutating into a mountain-on-legs. :o My last check-up with the MW was at just over 37wks, where I measured at 42cm. The MW said I'll either go into labour early or burst. Blush

I'm now 38+3wks and have an appointment for a sweep on Thursday. I'm not getting my hopes up though as I had one for both ds1 and ds2 and neither had any effect.

Good luck to everyone who is still impatiently waiting! :o
