LOL laundry - doesn't seem fair to have a posterior baby in Aust and one here too...where should I go to get the next one the right way round!? Grin

Still having BH contractions every arvo and night...had a show on Mon night...But still no 'real' action here :(

romilly · 08/03/2006 18:07

Grin laundrylover - that was the plan for this evening! i'll let you know if it works Wink

chellebelle - i was wondering how all you girls around the same due date as me were doing. sounds promising for you - good luck!

vikkiyy - agree with you about buying the cheaper ones, as they have a built in shelf-life whatever the make IMO. mind you, the cheapest machine i ever bought - an indesit machine - has lasted 11 years and is still hanging in there (touch wood) - by a thread! while the bosch and zanussi ones i've had have lasted a quarter of that.

Good luck chellebelle! And many congratulations Ags!

Marne · 09/03/2006 10:27

Good morning,

Good luck chellebelle, hope all goes to plan.

Cadmum, congratulations, what a lovely picture you must be so proud of her.

Im 38+2 today, got a check up with midwife tomorow, realy thought i would have my baby by now and would'nt have to go. Feeling sick this morning, had another night with no sleep and bad back pains, ive been eating loads of pineapple but still nothing happening. Dh is'nt feeling well and is off to the doctors, he thinks he needs to go back on AD's, its taken him weeks to pluck up the courage to phone the doctors, i hope they can give him something to help him feel better.

I cant wait to feel normal again, fed up with being fat and unfit, my shoe lace came undone in mothercare yestaday and i could,nt bend over do tie them up Blush

vickiyumyum · 09/03/2006 10:34

sorted my washing machine! got one for free!!!:o my cousin had recently moved into a house with integrated appliances and still had there almost new washing machine in the garage, so they said we could have it if we collected it, needless to say dh was round there last night and then cancelling the order and getting our money back from littlewoods.

have got my pre-op clerking today at 1p.m, not that they do anything, just run throught the paperwork, weigh me (weighed myself yesterday so wouldn't faint at the shcok have put on 7kg), get me to signt eh consent form and measure me up for the lovely ted stockings, think i am going to refuse to have heaprin though as last tiem i was fairly mobile quite quickly and it bloody hurts and they have to inject it into your abdomen, just what you want after having ahd a baby and c/s.

good luck to all you ladies due in the next couple of days.

off now to sort out a new guinea pig as ds2's guinea pig died last night, just what i need a wek before, but he's devastated so must get him a new one asap.:(

UniSarah · 09/03/2006 12:55

Still here, a week over now. Bored, Fat and VERY streched. Thank goodness I'm fairly tall or I really don't think I'd be able to move.
I'm off for another massage this afternoon , hope it'll help me relax and chill. Sweep tomorrow if things are favourable.
Well done onthe washing machine front, nice when that kind of thing turns up isn't it. Our indesit gave up earlier inthe winter,it stops rinsing or spinning properly, so was wasting water and power and time in a big way. We are ona water meter, so the new Meile is much better, quieter, more effeient and handily none of the buttons work if the power is off so its toddler proof, has passed the test with friends toddlers so far. Unlike our patio door catch which they all seem to find fasinating and trap their fingers in.

What fun it is hanging out on this "GET OUT BABY" thread. Am now 40+4, spent the morning at the hospital thinking I had merconium staining. Sat around for ages while the MWs had their TEA BREAK (can you believe it? I was really anxious baby could be in distress etc) they finally saw me and said it wasn't even waters, just a show. Who would have thought you could get them confused? Blush Anyway, good news really, and hopefully it means things will be underway before Monday (am meant to have a sweep).

Hang in there girls! They can't stay in forever Grin

laundrylover · 09/03/2006 16:11

Hi All,

No word from Chelle so here's hoping....
Marne, I was up all night too and really thought it was happening so lots of sympathy. I have a friend arriving today so no doubt that'll make it come out!! You should try making some important arrangements and I'm sure it'll mess 'em up!!Grin
VYY - what a result on the washer front! Sorry about guinea pig demise Sad. As a big GP fan I would advise getting two of the same sex as they are really good together and chat away in a squeaky manner. Unlike hamsters they are very easy to sex from birth too so no little pitter patter of unexpected teeny GPs!! Mind you these are very cute too as born perfect but mini version!! Oh my God am more broody about GPs than babies!! Please send me some cooey hormones girls!!
Astrophe - Shock at tea break! Good news that it was another show though, surely something must happen over the weekend???

romilly · 09/03/2006 16:44

astrophe - reckon you may be next hon!

vikkiyy - good news about your domestic appliance situation! one less thing to worry about.

i have a question if anyone can help (vikki??!) - my midwife this morning said baby's head is not even engaged yet? when so far they have always said it was. i am 40+1, does this mean i have a longer wait? she also confirmed i am still LPO.

romilly · 09/03/2006 16:45

i meant LOP of course Blush

manicmumtobe · 09/03/2006 16:53

Well, I am not v maternal at all but hormones must be kicking in, had a little 'aagh how sweet' moment at cadmums piccy!so hope for me yet!
Jackstini, god no, opting for own liner at hospital would be far to simple for heatlth authority to allow wouldnt it? I did ask though!
VYY, why is it every time i look heere you have had bad luck, falling, washing machines, dying animals whatever next!!!!
think I am devoping addiction for MN, wasted hours today just reading and not getting ready for event as I have promised myself every day since starting leave..is there a help group for this addiction?
Currently having last minute change of heart for pram type too, resulting in heated discussions with DP, have decided dont want the heavy 3 wheeler facing out that I have been loaned, always wanted pram style facing me and lightweight, are these just last minute niggles to distract from imminent birth worries I wonder? Does it really matter for only first 3 months..maybe another thread!
Anyone tried the raspberry leaf tablets to start things off?
Good luck and congrats all!

Marne · 09/03/2006 17:36

Romilly, is this your 2nd pregnancy? if so sometimes the babies head does'nt engage until you go into labour with the 2nd so no it does'nt realy meen you have to wait even longer. Well thats what my midwife said when i asked a while ago. My babys head is engaged but alot later then my last pregnancy, dd's head was engaged at 30 weeks but she was only a week early.

romilly · 09/03/2006 17:47

Hi Marne - thanks for response. no - this is my first pregnancy. hence, the dumb questions!!! i was just a bit disappointed to hear that her head is free as i was hoping something would happen before my induction! i suppose it still can?

UniSarah · 09/03/2006 19:11

Well somethings happened! Following a relaxing massage and a quiet little lie down chilling out My waters seem to have broken in a rather rapid fashion about 30 min ago! No contractions yet , bit of pink staining, boy still moving about ... so midwife is popping over after shes had her tea to check us over. AND, good news it's my regular midwife who's on call tonight.

We shall see what happens now. I still might get another nights sleep.
UniSarah

gothicmama · 09/03/2006 20:06

Fingers crossed uni sarah -

zephyrcat · 09/03/2006 20:20

Cadmum she is gorgeous!! Rom - I had the same thing with my first, my midwife told me for weeks that dd's head was engaged and it would be 'any time now' seems that it wasn't though in the end!! Won't be long though :)
Good luck unisarah - looks like you're next!!

balancingact · 09/03/2006 22:01

am sorry if this would sound like an inane post....but how do you avoid your house looking like a laundry room? i am seriously nesting in preparation for number 2 and our spare bedroom is now going to be his room but used to be the area where we dried all the clothes. I have now redistributed airers in our bedroom, and in our nanny's room but also kept one more in the spare bedroom. Problem is, everywhere i turn, there is bloody laundry! I only have one other child (aged 28 mos) but everyday just seems to be laundry day!!! argh!!!!
sorry, you are talking to woman who rearranged furniture in spare bedroom at 730 am today. i think am going a bit mental.....

balancingact · 09/03/2006 22:09

just re-read my post and think i sound like a loon. sorry girls! Blush
am not due till march 20 but was 10 days early with DD1 so just getting slightly impatient.
Unisarah - best of luck!!!

vickiyumyum · 09/03/2006 23:34

rom- sometimes babies don't engage until the last minute not anything to worry about, also if checked by different m/w's they will all find something different, it is very subjective. same also said re v.e's and one m/w could find you 6cm's and another 4cm's!!! sorry not an exact science.

i am beginning to feel the same way at the moment, it is one thing after another, this pg has def been the worst, i sailed throuh the other 2 without complaint (apart from ending in c/s's which weren't that bad really!) but this one is one niggel after another, heartburn, constipation, sickness, washing machines, you name it its happened! LOL! hopefully the next week will be uneventfu (fingers crossedd) especially as dh has to go away for work on moday and isn't back until wednesday, the day before i go into hospital.

re guinea pigs, we had 2 males, and now have one male, went ot the pet shop this mornign and we have to take the remaining gp into the shop on saturday morning to be put with the propsed new gp to amke sure they are compatible!!!

Marne · 10/03/2006 06:56

Up a bit early this morning so thought i would post, dd's been awale since 6.15, dh has gone back to sleep so i'm sat watching cebeebies. Midwife at 10.45 today, hopfuly for the last time Grin.

balancingact, im not due till the 21st but dd was a week early plus my dates say i'm due on the 15th (sure my dates are right). Midwife seems to think i wont make it to 40 weeks, fingers crossed somthing will happen in the next week.

Fingers crossed for unisarah, hope to here her good news soon.

Bump seems to be realy active at night, i thought movements would of slowed down a bit due to lack of space but she has been doing star jumps all night, i think she is going to be like her sister (awake all night), i think i'm in for a hard time as dd still doesnt always sleep through.

Have been trying to potty train dd in hope to get her dry before baby comes but shes not having any of it so i'm going to give up for a while (i dont think she's ready).

I think evrything is ready for baby now, just need to sort the cot out but she wont be in that for a while so theres no big rush, just need her to come out now, i hate waiting!

balancingact · 10/03/2006 07:27

Marne - i know what you mean, i hate all this waiting. saw the midwife 2 days ago and she said we'll see you on the 22nd (2 days after my due date) and i said - i hope not!! re potty training, i wouldn't bother with your dd at this stage - esp as some books say children temporarily regress when a sibling arrives (i.e. would want to be fed again or dressed even if they have been doing it themselves etc), so you might find that the potty training goes to pot Grin
Very strange - i have a very dull back ache this morning and am trying to coax it to become full on contractions. My dh can't believe how much more impatient i am with this one!
If your first born is early does that make it more likely your next children will be born early as well? (hopeful face!)

Marne · 10/03/2006 11:36

Just got back from midwife and like romilly the babys head is no longer engaged but midwife said it does'nt meen she will be any later. Bump has grown alot in the past 2 weeks, think she will be at least 8lb.

laundrylover · 10/03/2006 15:16

Sarah - thank goodness your waters waited until after your massage eh?? Hope it all happens tonight with your fave MW.
VYY - very impressive GP dating service!
Marne, agree about holding off potty training - after 6 months of basically being dry Tilly is now peeing and pooing in her pants just to wind me up!! She def knows that this baby is coming and the tantrums have started and the waking at night - last night she managed a 4am tantrum!!!
Balancingact - Smile at your laundry prob. Don't worry the rain will stop soon and you can get pegging on the line!
Manic - I have a 3 wheeler and to be fair it's quite nice not to see their cute (grumpy/screaming!) little faces all the time!!! Ooooh I'm such a cynic!Grin
