Dene · 06/03/2006 20:36

Well, my due date has almost passed and no sign of anything yet!

My DS1 has been poorly all day today. Now he has been asleep since 5pm so I'm expecting an interrupted sleep tonight. He usually sleeps very well but has been up 4 or 5 times for the last few nights. I am sure he is trying to prepare us for when the baby arrives! Just when I was hoping to make the most of our last few nights of sleep...

Anyway, its getting very exciting with all these births. Hopefully we will get some more very soon Smile

Toothyboy · 06/03/2006 21:41

Hi everyone and HUGE congratulations to all the mums and their new arrivals!!

My teeny weeny Matthew arrived at 16.25 on Feb 20th, weighing just 4lb 15oz; small but perfectly formed. No breathing or developmental problems, just tiny! We stayed in hospital til last Thursday and on Friday moved house! I took myself, baby and ds1 off to my mum's for the day and Friday night and let dp do all the hard work.

We're now all settled in the new house and adjusting to all the changes. Matthew is feeding well and putting on the weight that he needs to - last time he was weighed he'd put on 3oz in 4 days so m/w was very pleased.

Anyway, just thought I'd check back in while I can and wish everyone else luck for all the imminent arrivals!

newgirl · 06/03/2006 22:00

Hi everyone!

Congratulations Toothyboy!! Glad you are both well.

Friz - you sound really cheerful and happy hooray!

Hi to Helen and hello again to Dene - I remember you from all those months ago!

apos - i had a sweep last time - it feels like an internal exam so a bit embarrasing but not exactly painful. Didn't work for me at all but did work for my friend who had one last week and had baby six hours later!

I am sooooo bored of being pregnant now. I'm not due til sunday but last night I had a real meltdown at 4am waking poor dh to say 'its all a mistake' and 'I am going for a c-section tomorrow' etc good lordie. I felt much better after a mug of hot milk and a couple more hours sleep!

CadMum · 07/03/2006 01:50

Big congratulations on your tiny boy toothy! Well done for fattening him up so quickly!

Jackstini · 07/03/2006 12:16

Astrophe · 07/03/2006 14:11

Hello Helen and Dene - I also just joined a few weeks ago so haven't met you Dene. Good to have you here - its getting a bit quite as people find they are rather busy all of a sudden!Envy :o

My Due date was 5th (or possibly 10th???), I'm 25, have a DD aged 21months and am living in Derby having moved with hubby and DD from Australia in December.

balancingact · 07/03/2006 14:12

Am relatively new to the site, but would like to add:
Balancing Act - Aged 30, expecting no. 2 (we know it's a boy), DH 42. Lives in London and has 1 DD aged 26 months

balancingact · 07/03/2006 14:13

DUH! And due March 20!

romilly · 07/03/2006 15:09

welcome to the thread balancing act Smile as you can see its all go here now!

well my due date is tomorrow Smile and i saw my obs. yesterday who has booked me in for induction next wed.15th as he doesnt want me going more than 7 days over.

feeling very sick at the moment - thats a good sign isnt it friz? seem to remember you were feeling sick just before.

hope you are all taking it easy in these last few weeks.

caddy - off to find your birth announcement now...

romilly · 07/03/2006 15:10

incidentally i am measuring 40cm FH - that is quite big isnt it? i know i am term so that would figure - but did anyone else measure this big?

Astrophe · 07/03/2006 15:45

Rom, was 40am at 39 weeks! MW didn't measure yesterday. I have a pretty bad abdominal muscles separation from last pregnancy so I think that means bub stretches out more! But I also think its a bit arbitrary really, I mean, it must depend on how bub lies etc etc. I try not to worry!

UniSarah · 07/03/2006 16:08

Rom, I'm measuring 41 at 40+5. My boys STILL not engaged.
Sweep today was not a success as cervix was still closed ( but softening appaerently) and high and as boys head is so high to nothing to push agaist so M/W had a job even reaching it to feel. Was more a internal exam and a bit of a cervix massage than a sweep really. Not very uncomfy tho, I thought less so than a smear test as no hard impliments involved.
So, if nowts happened by friday we will have aother go at a sweep. Induction booked for tuesday next when i'll be 40+12, hope we don't have to go that far, but hes showing NO signs of wanting to come out.

Aqua natal this morning, I bobbed about energeticly. I can but hope things start to move soon. I'm BORED.
Congrats to toothy, glad to hear your both OK.
UniSarah

munz · 07/03/2006 17:08

rom - I was sicky/had the ahem runs b4 labour as well. the day b4 I struggled to do anything!

jack - thanks for doing the stats, Joey weighed 7lb exactly. and good news the health visitor came out yesterday and he's put on 2lb which is good news!

OP posts:
romilly · 07/03/2006 17:55

thanks astrophe and unisarah Smile makes me feel less enormous to know that! uni - i am probably having a sweep on wednesday so was interesting to hear about yours. glad it didnt hurt you!

munz - i am taking your lead and doing lots of ironing today (yawn.....!) was going to walk but its peeing down outside and too cold. not sure how convinced i am that anything makes a difference - have a feeling that they come when they're ready!

Ags · 07/03/2006 18:14

Imogen Rosamond arrived on 23rd FEb at 11.19am by c. section weighing 7lbs 9oz. We are so happy to have her and her big bro is starting to come round to the idea!!!

Sorry that I have been so bad at posting but wish all those waiting loads of luck for the coming weeks and all those who are now with their new ones lots of sleep when it is most needed.

romilly · 07/03/2006 20:50

congrats Ags Grin another beautiful name - Imogen rosamond, very pretty. i like Imo for short as well.

laundrylover · 07/03/2006 21:21

Jack you beat me to the stats - phew! Thanks for those.
I saw a post from Cadmum under breast/bottle and she is having a bad time so if anyone can find it maybe drop her some hugs?Sad
Toothyboy - well done on your teeny man! I bet your jaw dropped when you saw the size of him - that is my most vivid memory of seeing tiny Tilly! Sounds like you are both doing well and he'll soon be in those Newborn clothes!!
Well done Ags too.
Hope I haven't missed anyone.
Hope these sweeps/massages/pineapples do the trick and we have a couple more arrivals this week....Smile

vickiyumyum · 08/03/2006 10:47

woo hoo! the list of babies is getting longer, can't wait for the point when the list of babies is longer than the list of us still waiting.

i've got my pre-op clerking tomorrow, so that means c/s is one week tomorrow Shock it all seems so close now, although will proabbly feel like i am waiting forever, as these days are dragging by, ordered my washing machine today as mine blew up yesterday! and fused all the electrics in the house. have now found out that delivery time is up to 28 days!!! how am i going to manage without a washing machine for that long with a new baby and having a c/s and not being able to drive for 3-4 weeks.

my mum only lives down the road so have taken washing there today, so fine for the next week but after that, i dread to think.

romilly · 08/03/2006 14:56

vikkiyumyum - sorry to hear about the washing machine - what appalling timing. cant you persuade them to deliver sooner??? ours is on its last legs, but as we are moving we are just willing it to hold out another couple of months!

well its my due date today!!!!! not much going on though, so more acupuncture this a/noon and going for a sweep tomorrow.

still "very posterior" as the midwife put it yesterday, gulp...!

vickiyumyum · 08/03/2006 14:59

not sure what to do, have even tried ringing my catalogue this afternoon to see if they have any avaliable for immediate delivery or even 3-4 day, but the only one they have ins tock is that really expensive dyson one (surprises surprise) and i only wanted to pay a couple of hundred pound as even when i have brought expensive ones they still break down after a couple fo years.

will ask dh to go to currys and put one on his credit card if they have one to take away, as am getting desperate now!

laundrylover · 08/03/2006 15:39

Best thing we ever did Vicky was buy a reconditioned one from a local shop. £130 with a 12 month warrantly and free delivery and installation. This was after having a new one for 13 months that would have cost £300 to fix! We've since moved into a house with washer included and the recon one is at my sister's still going strong! Try a local second hand shop or a chaity electrical reusers. All goods are fully serviced etc.
Rom - have you tried standing on your head whilst having the acupuncture and eating a pineapple curry????? Please do post a pic if you do!Grin

Astrophe · 08/03/2006 15:46

lol Laundry - I will try that position too :)

chellebelle · 08/03/2006 15:50

Hello all,

Grrrr. Started having proper pains at 4.14 this morning, went through til 10.00am with them coming down to every 6 or so minutes. Then was tired so had a nap and it all slowed down and eventually stopped. Went for quite a walk and things appear to be happening again now. It's very frustrating though as DH has had the whole day off and although it has been nice to spend some time just the two of us it feels like a waste of his paternity leave.

DS will be gutted too - my parents picked him up from here this morning and took him to school, they explained to school that I was in labour and I told DS that if anything happened we would phone him in school (he's nearly 6).

All very frustrating.

Hey ho - at least we appear to be on way again now. We're at every 15 mins or so at the moment so hopefully all back on track.

DH is emptying and refilling the pool at the moment and being a computer bod has been keeping track of contractions and updating graph and spredasheet - typical man!

I hope you manage to get your washing machine VYY - not sure I'd trsut my DH to buy the right one on his own - it's not as if he'd know one end of it from the other anyway :)!

Hope all is well with everyone else and will obviously keep you updateed as things progress.

p.s. for stats purposes have been 26 since October :)

laundrylover · 08/03/2006 15:55

Chellebelle hope it's all systems go for you! LOL at the computer data - if he's technically minded then surely a washing machine can't beat him!!! I would encourage him to take charge of all housework and present weekly Powerpoint progress reports. Grin
Astrophe, standing on your head will be of no use as your body will just think it is back in Oz!!!!
