UniSarah - wow, great you have a little energy to spare whipping up yummy concoctions like that! I haven't cooked the last 4 nights! But lucky for me DH cooks very well (actually far better than me at the mo as am likely to read the recipe wrong or drop something and end up in floods of tears - think DH thinks its safer to do it himself :o)

Rom - DD was posterior so I guess I'm not surprised as was told it may be due to shape of my uterus or something (and so may happen again)...but its still disapointing - was kind of looking forward to a more peaceful birth this time. Hopefully bub will turn, but in any case I will be better prepared this time...and I guess if you can do it once...

Astrophe · 03/03/2006 21:04

Friz - the snow has stopped (in Derby) so must mean its time for your labour to start. Good luck and hope you get to meet Neve (maybe) soon.

Debbsy · 03/03/2006 21:23

best of luck Frizbe

laundrylover · 03/03/2006 22:10

Good luck Frizbe - I'll be hoping for some good news come tomorrow...
Tons of snow here and lots of cars struggling on our road - DP is worried that our car will get bumped but gritter has just been so should clear.
Well, I eventually have all my homebirth stuff although the gas and air took three MW visits due to lack of valves, then canisters then confused communication!!
Went to visit my cousin's baby, Ben who is very cute indeed. It was good practise for me as he fell asleep on my shoulder whilst I played with a grumbling Tilly - second timers, we're in for a shock methinks!!!
Munz - glad the bf is going well - I have been trying to help my cousin but the MW is crap and now he is on a bottle grrrrr.....she expressed 4oz of colostrum on her first attempt (wow!) but couldn't get him to latch on. Reckon she'll just go with the bottles which is fine but a shame as with the right support she would have been fine - rant, rave, high blood pressure!!!!Angry

spiker · 03/03/2006 22:42

So glad I'm not in the posterior club - sounds hellish. You all have my heartfelt sympathy.

unisarah - I didn't get beyond 1/5 engaged with my first pregnancy until labour started (and that 1/5 was painful enough so was quite glad). DS kept bouncing in and out of that 1/5 as well, like your LO. GP was making noises about the baby being too big for me but in the end I had a natural (although very long) delivery. I'm 37+1 now and this LO is also only 1/5. Lots of babies don't engage until labour, and I think it varies across ethnic groups as well. So don't let 'em stress you about it!

munz - you are obviously insane with sleep deprivation! I am so looking forward to being able to sleep on my back again...or just to be able to turn over in bed without having to plan it...

Frizbetheexpansionset · 04/03/2006 02:14

Hurrah girls, having contractions every 10-15 mins at the mo, and all seem rather low down, shall wait and see if they develop?? thanks for the well wishes to all.

Unisarah, your tea sounded very yummy Grin

Frizbetheexpansionset · 04/03/2006 05:41

Right girls, contracting every 8-5mins, so off to hospital to get checked out, hopefully I won't be back on here today!

RosiePosie · 04/03/2006 06:32

Good luck Friz! ( Not that you're here now ). I've been having mild contractions for the past couple of hours too, so maybe we'll have our babies on the same day!

Still full of cold, but haven't got the temperature or the shivers that I had yesterday, thank goodness!

Marne · 04/03/2006 09:20

Good luck friz, hope you have an easy labour and hope to see you back here soon!

Still nothing happening here, trying to keep busy but baby feels so low down i cant stand for long. Had a realy bad night, i keep having realy werd dreams about realy stupid things.Realy hope i have the baby soon so i dont have to go to my next check up next friday.

Marne · 04/03/2006 09:21

Good luck RP, lets see who can if you can beet friz, good luck both of you.

munz · 04/03/2006 12:04

good luck friz/rosie - hope all goes well for u both. look forward to ur announcements.

LL - 4 oz on the first feed! - that's amazing I haven't maanged a drop! - althou when Joey's feeding from the right side the left side leaks about 1oz per feed so i'm saving it and freezing instead of expressing for the mo.

RosiePosie · 04/03/2006 13:03

mmh, it's all stopped again - had 2 hours of good strong contractions this morning, and nothing since - I think it's going to stop/start for a bit before it really kicks off.

I hope Friz is doing well!

romilly · 04/03/2006 15:00

good luck friz!

rosiep - hope your cold buggers off today Grin and the contractions start again tomorrow for you.

nothing happening here. just feeling very breathless and sick today.

any news from cadmum?????

vickiyumyum · 04/03/2006 16:28

good luck to all of you who are in the beginnings of labour, hope it all goes smoothly and quickly for you. :o

finally got off my backside and have done some nesting this week! pram now assembled, ds2's clothes moved into the cupboards in ds1's bedroom (they will eventually be sharing, unless baby turns out to be aboy then ds1 will get the choice), baby clothing and bedding, nappies etc all int eh cupboard in ds2's bedroom (where baby will eventually go) first size clothing washed and ironed!!! and ready to be packed along with my bits and pieces, but have now realised that i only have 2 sleepsuits in 0-3 months and as my previous 2 were 10lbers think i may have to have a trip to m&s next week for some 0-3 month neutralstuff. people have brought me plenty of pink slepsuits and vests in newborn and 0-3 but i am leaving those in the packets until i know for def it is a girl, if i wash and iron them it will be a boy!
Not bad bag almost packed and only 12 days to go until section date, just thought that it wasn't wise to leave it until the night before as tempting fate that i would go into labour myself, even though that has never happened before.
got to hurry up and have this baby though as i keep thinking of more and more things that i could buy, have to confess i already have 2 prams!!! why do i have to be a shopaholic?

fairydust · 04/03/2006 18:28

best of luck frizbe hope all goes well for you xxx

UniSarah · 04/03/2006 20:02

Gosh yes, good luck friz.
We decided that sex, pineapple, long walk and curry was a bit much for one day... saving the pineapple for tomorrow and the curry for monday!
Chocolate fondue with fresh pineapple chunks has to be worth trying, and maybe I'll carry on down the recipe book and try a different cake to tempt the boy out with!
No sign of pip yet, just more bouncing. need to phone the MiL about something non baby related, but am trying to put it off...
Went for walk on the dunes and beach this afternoon, V nice in the sun, tide was right out.
Sea side is a great place for walking at the mo as there are toilets at predictable places, unlike on the mooors. Oh, and its flat of course!
Happy shaging to all he others trying that to get things moving this weekend.
UniSarah

Marne · 05/03/2006 08:37

Eating pineapple her too and thinking about trying the sex tonight, just keeping my legs crossed till the end of the day because we have got the step kids for the day so baby can't come out today.

Any news from friz or rp?

InternationalGirl · 05/03/2006 09:48

Hope Friz has had babe by now... awaiting news Smile

Munz - well done on getting the bfeeding going - I really hope we can bf this time - it worked well with dd1 but was impossible with dd2 (she was starving - and jaundiced - by day 4 so had to put her on formula). This time we have a breast pump and I'm going to persevere with trying to get started but at least with the breast pump I know we will get some good stuff into him. Grin

RosieP - sorry to hear you have had the flu - if I got the flu (or a cold) now I think they would have to take me in and get this baby out - I really couldn't put up with any coughing or sneezing. Hope you are feeling better and babe decides 'it's time' very very soon. Smile

Thanks for the sympathies and concerns re my pain. I wouldn't wish this on anyone but it's nice to know I'm not alone. I will consider the osteo if things don't clear up soon after birth.

We had a fabulous 6th birthday party for DD2 yesterday! It was so special for us all because this was her first party - she has high functioning autism and this was the first year she has even been close to understanding birthday parties. Everybody had a great time - we had the party at our house and hired a bouncy air castle for the day which was a great hit with the kids. Seven kids from her class came and brought siblings and parents so we ended up with about 20 guests - the party was a great success but didn't do much good for my aching body. Today is serious rest day. We bought her the Aquadoodle - what a great 'toy' - she loves it. It comes highly recommended from our house.

Still don't have our car back Sad

Seeing the Ob/Gyn tomorrow so will see if we have any progress. Will also complete the pre-admission process so when the time comes we don't have to stop and fill in forms. Working on a birth plan today and more packing for my hospital bag.

Congratulations to the families with the new babes - hope to hear more birth stories soon Grin

coppertop · 05/03/2006 13:38

Wow! You lot have all been busy! :o

Congratulations to all the March thread graduates.

Nothing much is happening here. I've had a couple of nights with very painful cramping in my lower back. It then occurred to me that as my last 2 babies were induced I have absolutely no idea what a non-induced labour should feel like. Blush It finally calmed down after a few hours. I wasn't sure whether to be disappointed that it wasn't the real thing or glad that the awful pain had gone.

I'm now 37+3wks so hopefully it won't be too much longer. If nothing happens by 39wks I've got an appointment for a sweep.

Good luck to all those who are ready to 'drop'! :o

RosiePosie · 05/03/2006 15:19

Any news on Friz yet??

Well. . .Matthew was born this morning at home at 7.07am, 7lb15oz and over cooked by all accounts, as the placenta was old and falling apart! It was an all nighter - my hardest labour of all, for various reasons ( though not my longest labour ) and when I'm feeling up to it, I'll post the full gory details! I bellowed him out, lol - sure I must have woken the neighbours up!

Will update when I get the chance. Good luck everyone! Dying to know who was first - Friz or me??

romilly · 05/03/2006 15:35

CONGRATS rosieposie Grin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and welcome to the world little matthew - lovely name btw.

looking forward to hearing all the gory details rosiep - meanwhile get lots of rest. hope the cold has well and truly gone.

no news from friz yet?

vickiyumyum · 05/03/2006 15:42

congrats rosieposie!

hope friz is fine can't wait to hear everyones news.

i have a m/w appointment tomorrow and then pre-op clerking on thursday and after that i'm sure it will all come around to soon as it will only be one week until i go in for my c/s. baby still breech, but has decided to turn on its side so am getting strange movements to my side ratehr than the front, have never had this before and none of my mums ahve ever mentioned this in 4 years so am going to ask m/w tomorrow as she has been doing the job far longer than me!

Jackstini · 05/03/2006 15:47

Oh congratulations RP & a big welcome to Matthew - was just logging to to see if there was any news from you or Friz!
Bet you are absolutely shattered - will happily wait for full story when you are feeling up to itGrin Well done
C'mon Friz - let's hear some news from you now!

IG - sounds like you had a lovely day for dd2s birthday. Have visions of you getting on the bouncy castle to start things off lol!
Rom & Astrophe - just to give you some encouragement - I did the all 4s thing - took 10 days and babe did turn - no longer spine to spine so wishing the same for you two - fingers crossed.

zephyrcat · 05/03/2006 16:02

Congrats RosiePosie!! :) Seems we're well and truly on a roll now :)

I wish this one was due now!! The last few days have been agony - I thought I had gottyen away with the SPD being only mild this time but it's now kicked in with a vengeance so any chance of sleep or walking or pretty much anything is very slim! I wonder if it means that the baby has dropped down now so there is extra pressure against my pelvis maybe? We've just been into town in a mad dash to get vests, sleepsuits, bottles, milk etc as I'm getting a bit paranoid that all these aches and pains means it might not hang on for another few weeks! I've been rapidly going off the idea of a cs as well as I feel like I can't be bothered to get over it and would rather just get her out and get back to normal!! I remember sitting on the hospital bed after my cs with DS and saying to myself "When you have forgotten the pain etc, just remember to never ever do this again" Blush Grin Oops!

DP did really well at his interview - he got through to the second interview with 5 others out of 60 odd people so he now has to go back on Tuesday. If he gets the job he has to go away on 14th April I think he said which means he'll be around for the birth and hopefully at least a week after to help. I'm getting my cs date on 21st March so my cs is likely to be last week in March/1st week in April... can't come soon enough!!

I'm off to look through the stats now to see if there's anyone on here who'll be hanging on for that long as well!! Grin

munz · 05/03/2006 17:01

big congrats rosie and welcome to little matthew.
