UniSarah · 02/03/2006 12:27

Hope all goes well for you CadMum.

Back from hosp apt. Dr seemed v unconcerned about bouncing pip ( only 1/5 in this morning!) She also declared he was big for dates and thought that might be why hes not dropped early. So- now we wait, still Ok for Home birth if I labour spontanously before 40+12 , induction scheduled for 40+13 if I don't.

I'm running out of things to do... time for another jigsaw puzzle maybe.
UniSarah

Astrophe · 02/03/2006 13:43

UniSarah is this your 1st bub?

InternationalGirl · 02/03/2006 14:28

YAY! Cadmum - hope all goes well for you.

Friz - you could be up next - sounds like with the collostrum coming in you've now something to feed babe!
zephyrcat - good luck with dp's job. I hope you will have some help if he has to go away for a few weeks.
unisarah - I'm sure bub is just really comfy and will come on down when he gets bored and wants to come out.

Last week the people at work kicked me out and told me not to come back until I felt better - all in good spirits though - I think I was causing them pain just watching me try to get around! I was kind of happy about it though - has given me time to do some resting and nesting which has to be a good thing - right?

At times the pain in my pelvis, back (butt really), hips, lower belly is excruciating. I think it must be more than spd - maybe a combination of SPD, sacro illiac joint and to top it off a bit of a hernia! Even b4 pg I think I had a slight hernia as whenever I sneezed or coughed I could feel it. DH has had to start helping me in and out of bed now and there is no turning over in bed anymore Sad. Bring on the babe!! Grin

Not long to go hopefully - my dds came at 39 weeks so that really only leaves me a couple of weeks to go. I have a few little projects around the house to keep me busy - I have a feeling I won't be going far from the house for the next little while - would like to get my hair done next week though!! Grin

RosiePosie · 02/03/2006 14:40

Unisarah - will they not give you a membrane sweep to try to get things started before doing a hospital induction? The MW will come and do a sweep at home for me if I get to 40+7 and only if that doesn't work will they start talking about hospitals. Might be worth asking them?

Hope all is going/has gone well for Cadmum Grin

40+2 here and still absolutely zilch!

UniSarah · 02/03/2006 15:27

Yes, I have been offered a sweep at home at 40+7. Will take up the offer if pips not here. Am thining about buying a pineapple at the weekend...maybe a good long (if slow) walk too.
Pips my 1st, yes, hes just behaving a bit like a 2nd... dh thinks he doesn't like having his head constrained.
Still he seems healthy and is very active.
Sarah

romilly · 02/03/2006 16:11

hi everyone

thinking of cadmum today, hope all is going well for her

astrophe - i think Illy is a cute name, and lets face it Coco Chanel didnt let the fact that her first name was a chocolate bean put her off!

well i am on tenterhooks like everyone else seems to be. have my induction meeting with ob. on monday.

munz · 02/03/2006 18:26

evening all!

hope everyone's well, and not too harrassed! can't stop for long as dinner's calling along with the bed! lol. i'll stop with u girls if u don't mind rather than go to the feb post natal thread. but should someone want to take over hte stats i'd be more than grateful! lol.

the m/w has put me on bed rest only - eating/sleeping only for me, as she thinks i'm knackered - lol, too true! anyhow Joey's feeding well althou he's not so good at night - roughly ever 3 hours ish but 4 during the day, so today we're trying to play about with it and feed him 3 hours by day to hope he sleeps longer at night! - wishful thinking! can't beleive he's a week old already!

cadmum - hope all goes well for u hon and it's quick/smooth.

RP/Friz - how's the HB's looking?

rom - hope u don't need induction hon, I think what helped for me was walking the dogs for 2 hours on the sunday morning - and needing all day to recover then standing to iron Joey's clothes on monday, then tuesday DH came home and stressed me out! lol, so don't know if any of that would help?? - and on tuesday I had a lot of lower movement - but though it was in my head cos the m/w said he was engaged.

welcome to all the newbies on the thread.

must say thou girls I miss not being PG already - I miss my bump! althou wouldn't swop Joey for the world.

oooh and thanks for the tip on the boob cream that's a def must along with teh V pillow. I did consider Formula feeding until my m/w said try this pillow and the rugby hold with him - touch wood it's worked and BF has started to hurt a lot less!

OP posts:
Frizbetheexpansionset · 02/03/2006 19:26

Munz, good to hear from you hon, make sure you take it v easy and get dh doing all the work Grin glad your both doing ok, and the BF is working out, have to say I found that position best with dd last time, will wait and see what happens this time! Can I just also say you don't really miss being pregnant you just think you do Grin lol.....My homebirth is out the window thanks to my iron count......see below for details......

Zephyr {{{Hugs}}} can you get any help is dh does get the job, can you get in a maternity nurse/nanny type person to bail you out for a few weeks?? Hope his interview has gone well anyway Smile

Cadmum thinking of you, hope you have a bouncing bubba by now Grin

Unisarah, I know it seems a boring answer but try to chill and enjoy the time, could you get in a spa day or something similar Smile can't beat a good bit of pampering before (and this is someone elses description from another thread) 'the best workout of your life' that sure is one way of describing labour....

Intgirl, lots of sympathy re the pains your having, I had trouble with my last pregnancy, when it was all over I went to see an osteopath, who clicked me all out and oddly enough I haven't had any pain at all this time?? so would recommend you do the same if you can afford it Grin

Well ladies, I've scoffed a whole pineapple today, lunch and dinner and thus have now had a good clearout Blush so if nothing else it appears to work for that if you eat the amount I have in one day Blush Really hoping that dd's prediction of delivery tomorrow is correct Grin failing that MW is round tomorrow am, and has said will sweep me anyway, so that should help surely!

newgirl · 02/03/2006 19:29

Hi everyone

good luck cadmum!

Munz - LOL at missing being pg - I suggest you stuff two pillows up your jumper and try and put your socks on without falling over! Oh yes then go to the loo then leave the house then need the loo again!! Well done on the bfeeding - sounds like you are doing a great job.

apos - I like the names and I don't think we often have to say both names together? They will need good names as individuals more I think?

friz - surely not long now?! I am getting so bored!

manicmumtobe · 02/03/2006 20:43

congrats Munz, I too couldnt resist reading your birth story, will probably have nightmares tonight about it, but that is nothing new! At the moment I cant wait not to be preggas, cant imagine missing it, but will wait and see:)
Any problems with dogs and new baby? I have dog and am quite concerened about this as he is a weight and v stubborn!
Have only been told head at brim, what does that mean, got a bit worried as doc said always the case this happens early with second babies, didnt have heart to tell her it is my first!

fairydust · 03/03/2006 07:54

FRIZBE TODAY HAS TO BE THE DAY [GRIN]

My little sis gave birth this morning 5.30am a little boy 7lb 7oz Grin

fairydust · 03/03/2006 07:56

only in labour 3hrs as well frizbe.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 03/03/2006 09:22

Fairydust, that's great news, congrats to your little sis for me Grin

Well ladies, trying not to get my hopes up, but have had intermittant cramps since 4am, didn't get out of bed tho, as could hear dh sleeping very lightly and didn't want to scare him Wink
am also feeling very sick at the mo, so we shall see what happens, MW around to see me sometime this morning and sweep if necessary Grin it better be today!! ok I'll settle for tomorrow am if not Grin can you belive I'm wishing myself pain......

Newgirl, so yes, me too!!! 40+4 is not a fab place to be.....

RP how you doing hon?? are you 40+3 today or have you snuck off and had a baby in the night? Grin

Cadmum, thinking of you, hope all is well x

poppyh · 03/03/2006 09:39

Friz, heres hoping your baby comes SOON!!Had my gorgeous daughter on Monday morning. My family and me cant stop grinning!!Good luck all.xxxx

RosiePosie · 03/03/2006 10:54

Congratulations poppyh! Good luck Friz Grin

Well, I've got flu - can you believe it?? Feel absolutely awful. Can you all please send me some "baby stay in" vibes now until I feel better!

Jackstini · 03/03/2006 11:38

Oh no RP - will change my vibes for you now and hope you feel better soon.
Friz - have you had that sweep yet?! Glad to hear about your leaky boobs - hope it means things are going to get moving today - your dd may be spot on with her guess! Int Girl - sympathising with you - I am having worse pains today, especially bottom of back and in hips - might take up Friz's advise on the Osteo after the birth
Ast - I really like Ilya - lovely name
UniSarah - how did your appointment go yesterday?
Zephyr - hope DPs interview went well and if he gets it make sure call in all favours from friends and family to help you out!
Munz - well done on the BF, glad to hear your perseverance is paying off and you have a helpful mw. LOL at you missing your bump - my dh keeps warning me I will miss mine I touch it so much now.
Manicmum - I have a heavy stubborn dog too (bulldog) but mw gave me a tip which we will try - rub a few dog hairs on the front of baby's sleepsuit. Also put a clean rag in the baby's cot first night, then transfer to the dog's basket. This way they both have a chance to be familiar with each other's smell before they meet. If you pop first, let me know if it works!
Poppy - congrats on your little girl. Will look out for full story on birth announcements.
Cadmum - very excited for you - will be watching this space.....!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 03/03/2006 12:45

Hi all!

Poppy H Grin Congrats on your little girl Grin will go and look for the birth ann.

Well midwife's been I'm 2cm dilated and sweep has been done, fingers x'd bump is out this weekend....if not I have to go to bloody hospital clinic on Monday, as they want to transfer me to consultant care, as they have no room to induce me next weekend, when they should be doing and now want to take extra care of me due to my bloody anemia.......which has been caused by their balls ups in the 1st place! so they may induce me early, but have to have a consultant to ok this.......oh I really hope I pop this weekend now! Shock

romilly · 03/03/2006 13:22

poppyh - huge congrats to you on the arrival of your gorgeous baby girl Grin!!!!!!!

friz - hoping you and i will both go into natural labour this weekend - fingers crossed!

cadmum - hope you have given birth by now! cant wait to hear x

munz - thankyou honey for the tips - dont think i could face a 2 hour walk today - its so bloody cold and even a 20 minute waddle is knackering me out now! lol @ you missing being preggie, i think you are remembering it through rose tinted specs! loved newgirls comment about the peeing - so true. and also dont forget how trying to change positions in bed is a major feat!

rosiep - sending speedy recovery vibes to you - what a bummer getting flu now. keep your legs crossed and get well soon Smile

p.s. munz you better damn well stay with us and not defect to the feb thread! you cant desert us now in our hours of need!

Astrophe · 03/03/2006 14:46

Big congrats PoppyH! :o

Unisarah - hoping bub drops soon for you. But then again DD was very low from about 35 weeks and then was late anyway, so maybe it doesn't count for as much as we think!

Friz - am crossing my fingers for you also.

IntGirl - SO much sympathy re back/bum/hip/everything pain. I have to wake DH to help me turn over in bed and get him to help me put on pants/socks/trousers! How embarassing. Like you I have SPD and SIJ pain but theres somthing else as well I"m sure! My MW told me to always keep my knees together (when sitting, bending, rolling over - even walking) and it has helped a bit.

RosieP - will send you my 'stay in' vibes. We have had colds too but are getting better so will pass the 'no labour' vibe on to you now.

And thanks all for the input re names - Still undecided but now I feel like if we end up with an Illy and a Luie then people will just deal with it.:)

I am having low back pain every evening which is telling me that Bub is getting lower and is POSTERIOR. Very disapointing :(. Am spending time on hands and knees but its exhausting - would rather lie on the couch!

UniSarah · 03/03/2006 15:16

Thanks for all the surport girls. I'm in a rather better frame of mind today. Sorry was being a bit of a grump yesterday.
He'll show up when hes ready and theres nowt I can do about, I'll spend a lot of time waiting for him to do things over the next few years, so I might as well get used to it and curb my impatience.

I keep thinking "THIS" is the last lie in, leisurely breakfast, slow shower...etc then the next day comes along and I get to do it again.

I walked down to the childrens centre for lunch today- the start up do for our new veggie bag scheme. WOW what a lot of local seasonal veg for 4 quid. I could hardly carry my bag home up the hill! I've arranged for someone else to pick mine up next week and drop it at the house for me!
Unisarah
40+1 and counting

munz · 03/03/2006 16:32

lol@ u girls! yes I do miss the bump! lol, and at the mo I miss being able to sleep at night times! lol - as the minx was 10 days early I didn't really get a sence of the whole no sleeping thing and only just started the socks thing! lol.

any more ppl popped at all?

man - the dogs have been fine, it's helped myu being in the hospital for 6 days b4 we came home. DH brought home Joey's clothes every night and we also had our own blanket for him to be cleaned up in which again DH took home, so they were accustomed to his smell, then we started gentley with one dog meeting him first, and sniffing his foot, and clothing, now we do let them sniff his head but they're not bothered touch wood! we also have baby gates up top/bottom of the stairs and the front room just in case.

anyhow back off to bed for me.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 03/03/2006 16:46

Glad to hear your chilling well munz Grin

RP get better soon hon xx

Uni Sarah, damn good vegi bag scheme, wish they did something around here like that....don't worry you weren't any more of a grump than me Grin

Intgirl, hope the pains a bit better??

Rom, yep lets hope we both pop together, tonight me thinks hopefully!! Grin

romilly · 03/03/2006 17:35

yes go to bed munzie!!!! sleeeeeeep!

friz - i hope so, that would be great, but you are sounding much more imminent than me Grin

astrophe - join the posterior club! i find it impossible doing the all fours thing, it is so uncomfortable - i know i am going to find it a damned sight more uncomfortable if i dont do it though Wink

Frizbetheexpansionset · 03/03/2006 20:06

It's snowing, it must be a sign, cause if we have a dd it'll be Neve - Latin for snowy!! Grin

UniSarah · 03/03/2006 20:24

Umm, veggie bag. perfect excuse for a little experimenting at tea time. Dh was out, hes at Cricket Club Annual dinner, so I had sausages on a bed of swede and carrot mash with steamed kale. followed by apple crumble and custard. Yummy.
dh doesn't like swede or custard, I do. :o
