Blondiedollface congratulations! And another beautifully elegant name; getting a little jealous of all these lovely little girls!

Star, I hate it when I feel ganged up on by the MWs but emblosion has a point. Even if you can't get the consultant on side you are still not obliged to follow his/her advice. Might be useful to hear another point of view. Hope things work out for you.

McKayz is there a room immediately next door that you/your baby could be quickly transferred into? When I was planning a home birth, we worked out that the pool would fill the kitchen but there is a conservatory which we were going to use as the "Emergency Room".

My little lad has woken back up and is making himself known once again so I've stopped panicking. Thanks for the advice on this everyone. xx

McKayz · 14/06/2012 18:31

Congratulations!!! Blondie very pleased for you and what a beautiful name!!!

justwantcheese · 14/06/2012 18:35

Congratulations blondie beautiful name xx

DairyNips · 14/06/2012 18:58

Wow, massive congratulations Blondie, what a beautiful name!! Well doneSmile

StarlightOverJuicy · 14/06/2012 19:08

Wow Blondie Congratulations!

embolism Poor midwife called me back and tried again to get me to see a consultant next week. She's bloody good at persuading people of things as I've heard her before but I was able to still refuse so she has agreed to see me instead. I feel a bit bad actually. I think also she isn't used to not persuading people of things judging by a)her arguments and b)having heard her argue for something on behalf last week.

Anyway. It is sorted. No consultant until 42 weeks by MY dates.

And lo and behold, BH returned quite strongly ever since!

Shelduck · 14/06/2012 19:13

Hi all,
rhihaf and blondie - yay! Many congrats! Xxx
Dairy so pleased your DH got his pat leave sorted out with his arsehole boss.
McKayz and surf - sorry you're feeling so crap Sad
SSC - brilliant to hear that you're feeling so positive! Good luck with BFing!
gwennie - yes you're right about the fact that those of us wanting to hang on are those of us being pushed for induction and vice versa! I'm still thinking we should all swap places! (will happily PM instructions on appropriate wig, clothing, accent and mannerisms for anyone wanting to take my place!)

Well, sweep plus 48 hours. So i had a show and further goo, went from "at brim" to now 4/5 engaged, and odd twinges, but that's as far as i've got. Have a serious waddle now - when i walk, the movement is mainly side to side rather than forwards, so takes ages to get anywhere!

So it looks like i will be setting sail on the Good Ship Induction tomorrow morning, but at least my body will be a bit more prepared, and hopefully the induction can be a bit lighter touch.

So unless anything changes, this will probably be my last post until i'm on the other side. (told DH i was just doing a last post and he said "not the Last Post I hope!) Even after LO arrives, not sure when I'll get internet access again, so will send you all lots of hugs and Thanks and positive labour vibes in the meantime. Grin xxx

McKayz · 14/06/2012 19:18

I have just had fajitas for dinner. If spicy food starts labour then I must be having a baby tonight. I feel like I could breathe fire Grin

Coops No there isn't anywhere else other than going upstairs, which MW said they couldn't do. The dining room is still a work in progress and has no flooring. Just the concrete.

DairyNips · 14/06/2012 19:25

Shelduck good luck for tomorrow, will be thinking of you and hoping it goes wellSmile Hope you manage to post again soon.

Mckayz I live fajitas, they have been my craving this pregnancy! We're having a curry tonight.. Let's hope the spicy food sets us both off.

star well done for sanding your ground with the persuasive midwife. She sounds a bit of a pita tbh, should just respect your wishes!

DairyNips · 14/06/2012 19:26

Well I do live fajitas but I meant I love fajitasGrin

emblosion · 14/06/2012 20:24

Star that's great news! Dont feel bad either - you've the right to make an informed decision about your care & the midwife should respect your wishes. Hopefully everything will kick off naturally anyway - sending 'labour' vibes your way!!

shelduck good luck for tomorrow!

mckayz hope you find a solution re: the space issue, will there be enough room once the other sofa is out of the way? If it's purely for an emergency could you put tarpaulin/rugs/throws/sheets or something over the concrete floor in the dining room just in case?

coops glad LO has woken up :)

Thinking of buying some clary sage - haven't got a bath but am liking the 'oiling the bump' idea (and I probably don't have to worry about DH nicking it all, unlike the RLT!)

rhibutterfly · 14/06/2012 20:39

congrats again blondie
good luck shelduck
well little one is still breech so definitely looks like CS will go ahead tomorrow, will post as soon as able.

McKayz · 14/06/2012 20:48

Shelduck Good luck for tomorrow!

Rhi Good luck to you too!!!

Emblosion I think there will be enough room. The sofa is going on its end. I probably could put something on the dining room floor but I think there is probably less room in there. With the table, desk, fishtank, shoe rack and dog.

CathFin · 14/06/2012 20:50

Congratulations Blondie, all sounds very uncomplicated, love the name too!

Good luck Shelduck and Rhibutterfly.

Had an old lady today tell me that it was good to see that I was all bump and hadn't let myself go! I kind of appreciated it but also got a bit incensed as I was huge with DS and I don't think I did much different, not sure its entirely up to us what our bodies do when pregnant!

DD - had her first taster session at primary school too - all seemed to go very well, quite excited for her, full time school - can't quite believe it!

McKayz - hope you get your space issue sorted out!

Well done Starlight! My mum is still cross about being induced by hospital dates and I'm 38 so that is a long time ago now!

AmethystMoon · 14/06/2012 20:57

Congratulations blondie, super news!

rachy if you see this I have replied via PM..... However given your last post I'm wondering if things have started to happen for you? Very excited. If they have, if not let me know a time for tomorrow if you're still okay!

mckayz hope you get your birthing pool space issue sorted.

shelduck good luck for tomorrow x

star good for you!

Finally finished work properly today, I had a report left to sort out and I forced myself to sit down and do it this afternoon.....phew!

More nesting today, I ventured under the bed with a bin liner and Hoover! It's now a dust and crap free zone Grin not easy with a huge bump!

No symptoms here at all, convinced I'll be the last one to have a June baby, in fact I'm starting to think it might be a July baby :(

AmethystMoon · 14/06/2012 21:00

Ooh just seen your post rhibutterfly good luck if CS goes ahead tomorrow, this time tomorrow you'll be cuddling your little bundle :)

Mammato2boys · 14/06/2012 21:08

Hello all
This is thedogwalker, but have named changed Smile

Congratulations Blondie, so happy for you.

Star, I am astounded by your treatment, I really don't understand their lack of co-operation. MWs in my area, asked me what I would like if I went overdue, I told them, no sweep, no induction, LO will come when ready. They put this in my notes and said they would only re-visit the subject if I got to 40+15. Your MWs sound like a right nightmare, hope you get the choices you want.
Shelduck Good luck for tomorrow.

McKay, How come the sudden MW decision of not enough space, how annoying. Hope you get it sorted.

gwenniebee · 14/06/2012 21:14

Blondie yay :) Very happy for you, and agree with everyone else that it's a beautiful name. My mum's favourite aunty was called Ada - I never met her sadly but she is fondly referred to by all the older people in my family!

star good you have come to "a happy medium" with your mw.... sounds like a good job I only have hosp dates to go on! (Judging by my last period I've been pg for well over a year now!)

Good luck rhi and shelduck for tomorrow... these babies coming so thick and fast now I can't keep track of who's doing what!

Dairy and McK great minds think alike - I've just gobbled a fajita or two as well!

coops glad to hear you're wriggling again. Mine's been seismic today - quite surprised I'm not on the news as the epicentre of a major earthquake Hmm

Amethyst I'll race ya. I'm only 38 weeks tomorrow so I'm almost certain to have a July baby. This pains the teacher in me, somehow June is doable, even if it's the end of June, but having a July baby? What was I thinking?! (Although the three brightest sparks in my class this year are July and August birthdays, so there's hope....!)

AmethystMoon · 14/06/2012 22:30

gwennie you're on! Grin

ffnorm · 14/06/2012 23:01

Good luck for tomorrow Shelduck and Rhib

Congrats Blondie!!!

mammadothebump · 14/06/2012 23:29

Very quick post from me - namechanged from ellybett as the name seemed to fit the scenario at the moment!

Congrats blondie glad it went so smoothly.

Good luck the cs rhi.

Amethyst and gwennie can I join the race. Absolutely no inkling of labour yet. 38 +5 today. So very impatient now but in my heart of hearts I know I'll go over. My gut is never wrong! Really don't want a July baby though.

star you have one persistent mw there. Mine simply seems happy to tick my book and send me on my merry way, she's never mentioned sweeps or inductions so am beginning to wonder what I'm actually meant to do if I do go over! I mean there's laidback but my mw is ridiculous.

Hope all new mummies are getting some sleep, I'm off to attempt it and inevitably fail. My heart burn is absolutely outrageous, definitely ate too much tea but it was good old plain fare pie and mash so thought I'd be ok. Stupid really when I seem to need the gaviscon for just breathing!

Night all.

DairyNips · 14/06/2012 23:33

Good luck for tomorrow rhibSmile Will be thinking of you..

AmethystMoon · 14/06/2012 23:39

Of course elly (mamma bump) I'm 38 + 5 today too so the race is on! I also don't want a July baby, I joined the June thread, baby can't wait 'til 'July to show up!!Smile

AmethystMoon · 14/06/2012 23:41

Just seen we're up to 923 posts, so much for this being our last antenatal thread!! Grin

emblosion · 15/06/2012 01:50

Doh! We're gonna need a stragglers thread for sure for us end of the month-ers!

Think I could be in the July club too...

emblosion · 15/06/2012 01:51

and good luck for tomorrow rhib
