Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ShellyBobbs · 09/06/2012 14:51

I was being lazy DH I'll have a look, I remember the twin girls now. The only reason my hubby wants a boy is because we have 2 girls and 1 boy, the eldest DD is entering her teens and is hogging the bathroom in a morning, he doesn't think he could deal with 3 girls and a wife lol Grin

Sophiathesnowfairy · 09/06/2012 17:42

Congratulations DH that is lovely news.

Has anyone got any good ideas about healthy, portable and filling lunches and snacks to take to work? I have eaten so badly in my first trimester just to keep myself going and have got into bad habits. Now I'm back from hols I think it would be a good idea to sort myself out before I gain too much non baby weight!

Thechick · 09/06/2012 17:46

Hey mrswee here are a couple of links on the right time to feel kicks. They both start with unhelpful midwives that im ignoring. Can't find the one I was thinking of that had a lot of opinions, but these are pretty reassuring.

Great news DH21 what does your DS think about having a little sister?

Is anyone's having pain when sneezing or coughing what you do is bend forwards at the waist and support your tummy firmly with both hands before you sneeze/cough. That should prevent the pain. If you have a section that's what you have to do for a while afterwards or it will hurt your scar.

I just came over all sick and dizzy in Build-a-Bear and it wasn't at the prices. But my blood pressure isn't low (111/72) and my iron levels were okay so I was wondering if it could be low blood sugar. I had just had a hamburger at McDonalds but I didn't feel okay again until I had some Coke. I'm a bit concerned because my dad's diabetic but it's a bit early for gestational diabetes.

Congratulations DH on your girl. You guys are so lucky to be finding out already. I don't have my scan until 18th July. I think I might be the last.

kirrinIsland · 09/06/2012 18:06

Congratulations DH :)

horseylady · 09/06/2012 18:24

Stunt my blood pressure keeps really dropping was around 90/60 at it's highest!! It does drop after food. A peak in blood sugar can cause a similar effect. I wouldn't worry I know I've gone very faint on a few occasions!!

Congrats dh :) really pleased for you!! In 5 days I'll know :)

Little9 · 09/06/2012 18:49

Congratulations DH.

Have had a lovely day on the beach with my DH and doggies. Although was a bit different to Crete. This time last week I was in a bikini, today I was in full winter gear! LOL! Lost the ball in the sea though!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 09/06/2012 19:36

stunt ds has no idea what I'm talking about ha! He does say 'baby' to the scan pic though. I think he'll understand it more nearer the due date and I'm huge and he can feel baby kicking.

SwissArmyWife · 09/06/2012 20:52

Sophia - WRT healthy lunches, maybe things like chicken salad, nice ploughmans (or similar) sandwiches in brown bread, wraps/pittas are good too, with houmous and salad in them, or things like mozzarella and basil. Cous cous and spicy chick peas are a favourite of mine too. Oh and olives with feta and a few herbs in are amazing!
Can't think of anything else off the top of my head but you get the picture!
And of course lots of nice fruit to accompany it all, but don't forget to chuck the occasional galaxy bar in aswell, no pregnant woman should have to go without chocolate! Grin

I have suddenly got a lot bigger over the last couple of days, to the point where my tummy is actually feeling solid - yay, I no longer just look fat! Grin
And I can also feel where the baby is most of the time now, LO must have had a growth spurt!

eversomuch · 09/06/2012 21:13

Congratulations DH. Lovely news. We're happy to be ending up with one of each, too, albeit in the opposite order to you (wanna swap baby clothes, LOL?).

Sophia I also feel like I've eaten really badly the past few months and am trying to get back on track now. I carry mixed nuts and dried fruit with me to snack on. When I have the energy to cook, I try to make enough so I can freeze some for another time. I'm vegetarian, so a big pot of dal is a beautiful thing and easily freezes. I keep meaning to cut up some carrots, cucumber, peppers, etc in the morning to have to hand during the day, but I keep forgetting. Really trying to keep my sugar intake to a minimum, but I do keep a bar of really good-quality dark chocolate in the cupboard and have a square or two almost every day. :)

I posted an update the other night, but I think MN was down, so it disappeared into the ether. All is fine here. Energy is coming back, appetite is much better. Will be going for a chat with the consultant OB on Monday and then for my 20-wk scan on Friday. Looking forward (Fx) to getting the final green light that's everything's ok with the LO.

Have started sorting through DD's baby clothes and separating out all the unisex/boyish stuff from the girly stuff, so I can sell/give away the things we won't be able to use again. Thinking of maybe moving house before the baby comes, so it would be good to purge stuff before then.

Anyway, off to bed for me. Hope you're all having lovely weekends.

blonderthanred · 09/06/2012 22:25

Oh, crikey. Do not go and see Prometheus. Just, like, really. So traumatised I nearly walked out (not like me). Just, oh my god.

Passmethecrisps · 09/06/2012 23:01

A wee girl! How lovely DH

What's is about blonder? Sounds harsh.

Over the last couple of days I have noticed something very strange when my cat sits on me. When she is tucked right against my stomach a can really feel her heartbeat - almost like it is inside me. It is very weird. If I can feel it then sausage must be able to feel it too. Anyone else noticed this?

It's the prequel to Alien - there's a very nasty EMCS - I'll say no more but never has anything made me quite so squeamish...

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/06/2012 07:45

eversomuch lol would love to swap clothes except I don't know what I've done with ds' clothes upto about 1 yo lol. Think I leant them to friends and prob won't get them back now because we won't need them.

I've got my next scan in 18 days that's not long at all, hope they agree it's a girl I won't be happy if they change it now!

misslaughalot · 10/06/2012 09:23

Morning everyone.

Congratulations DH. I'm loving reading about what everyone is having, but still determined to not find out ourselves. Only 3 weeks until we get to see our little bug again, and hopefully the MW will listen in to the heartbeat tomorrow.

I wanted to see Prometheus, but think I'll hold off until the DVD, thanks for the warning Blonder!

applepieinthesky · 10/06/2012 11:05

For the last couple of days I have been getting really bad headaches which intensify when I stand up. Has anybody else had this or know what it is?

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/06/2012 11:35

apple yes I've been getting headaches which seem to pound when I stand up. I've also been feeling dog tired every day so I think the two are linked. Headaches ease off throughout the morning but the tiredness lasts all day til I go to bed.

Iheartpasties · 10/06/2012 11:52

Hi, shellybobs we've been over here 3.5 years and we love it! We wont be coming back to the uk anyway. My LO's will have aussie accents though, how strange!!

StuntNun · 10/06/2012 13:41

I had my gender scan today and we're team blue so we'll have three boys! Now we can start thinking about names.

kirrinIsland · 10/06/2012 14:54

WestWinger · 10/06/2012 15:19

stuntnun you lucky thing! Three lovely boys! Yay!

SwissArmyWife · 10/06/2012 15:41

StuntNun Congrats! Lots of boys so far!
Hey at least you'll have no problems with clothes/toys Grin

apple Not sure what the headaches are caused by but I get them quite a lot.
I've also got a wisdom tooth trying to come through which is making it worse! :(
