This had better be the last antenatal thread for us all, so come on girls, get pushing!

Thell · 19/02/2006 21:24

Thanks Twiga.

Well, I'm trying not to be overdue if only so that I don't have to worry about being monitored and prodded etc. Two RLTs today (am terrible at remembering to take it), and maybe I'll buy a pineapple tomorrow.
And who knows, maybe if I ambush DH tonight he won't be able to fight me off!

Thell · 19/02/2006 21:26

Jasnem, how overdue did you say your girls were?
Perhaps there's a pattern?

Jasnem · 19/02/2006 21:33

Not very, by most standards.
My waters broke 1 day over my due date with DD1, and she was born in the early hours of day 2
DD2 was 5 days over- felt like forever, as I'd had a false alarm a week before my due date, and was constantly convinced I was just about to drop after that.

I'm normally quite patient, but I think the added anxiety of a possible c section is making me worse this time.

Twiga · 19/02/2006 22:32

still no chat, now I know how she felt waiting for me to have dd back in Sept.....gonna be a long night.....

Flamesparrow · 19/02/2006 23:37

I thought about Soupy when we did the new thread too!!!

My general on and offness here, but nothing exciting. Just a show would make me happy - I nkow I had a big gap between show and baby with DD, but at least you feel you're getting progress.

Had a big emotional philosophical moment tonight (and a few tears), and decided that I need to stop being so miserable and such a bitch about this stage.... Yes, I'm still pregnant, but looking again, I'm still pregnant - so many of our original list would kill to still be pregnant, to know that they could hold their babies soon.

Need to start being more positive because I just feel evil now.

Planning our 5am meets is clearly not working, so who's up for not planning to meet at 5am?

Going to bed now, but don't know how long I'll stay - if the wriggle monster is about again, I'll be back up... do you think its possible to sleep whilst sat on a big bouncy ball???

Here's hoping Helen is having a baby, and that poor Twiga gets some news soon... I hate being on the recieving end of the whole no news thing!!!

Flamesparrow · 19/02/2006 23:40

Oh, I think I should start a new career writing for porn films... my suggestion of "So do you wanna help get it out of me?" was met with a decline, so I followed up with the ultra erotic "It doesn't have to be good, just the sperm and jiggling should do it".

Apparantly that wasn't appealing either

TicTac · 20/02/2006 02:15

Good luck for this week ladies....I am sure there will be one or two babies on their way.

Nice one on the show Thell! I am sure you will be full speed ahead now. When I had my proper full show I thought I would be a week away but had DD that night!

Aww to think, 4 weeks ago right this minute I was in labour....and high on G&A

Jasnem · 20/02/2006 07:39

Morning all

Lol at your seduction techniques Flame.

Going to do the school run this amm even though DP offered, in the hope that a bit of activity will get me moving. Also need to catch up with friends.

Helen? Have you had your baby then, or are you just hiding to keep us in suspense?

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 20/02/2006 07:58

Starting to get offended at my rejected advances now... I'm actually wanting sex, think its the whole rejection making it seem more appealing thing . Maybe I'll just pin him down this evening and not give him an option.

Hope all goes well with school run Jas - remember, be strong... do not hit anyone who saying "Have you not had that baby yet?"

I've got that pre-periody acheyness again today - probably just Spark laying on a nerve.

First whole day in ages just me n DD, and no car to get her to have a nap... I'm feeling all nervous which sounds horrible - I should be doing something nice with her while its just the two of us

Helen - If you've not had a baby then we're all going to be very annoyed with you .

Twiga - Any news????

4B1P - Your message must have been floating round in my head as I fell asleep last night... I dreamt that you literally left your house, and Jordan got custody of all your children .

Everyone else - hope you're doing well... Ixel, thinking very very strong laboury thoughts for you today.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 20/02/2006 08:30

Thanks for the strong laboury thoughts flame, 'right back atcha' in a cheesey way
Do you think if I go and buy a block of blue cheese, some pate and a vat of red wine, this baby might come out???

Lol, your poor dh as well

Jas, how odd are you feeling then???

I've woken up feeling a bit achey and a bit sickey, think its just my blasted cold tho, as it appears to be back with a vengance, or at least the coughing bit is, dd said mummy ok, mummy want doggy?? as I had about a minute coughing my guts up this am......wonder if its cause I went to sleep with a ton of vicks on my chest, maybe its shifting the leftovers??

Twiga, hope you get some news soon would love to know how popa is getting on!

Tictac, was that really 4 weeks ago already, argh congrats on your 1st month hon x

Thell any news??

Helen, I'm getting worried your supposed to be my birthing buddy, have you left me??

Helen38 · 20/02/2006 08:39

Frizbetheexpansionset · 20/02/2006 08:46

and phew, lol

Flamesparrow · 20/02/2006 09:05

A teeny bit of excitement here (not labour related...)...

I never got my boots parenting pack thing, and decided that I really didn't care enough to hassle them... Got a letter today telling me that they had discovered there had been a glitch and I'd never recieved my stuff (don't think I'll get the before 28 weeks stuff now, but never mind)... they were sorting out the problem, and please would I accept a voucher for 500 boots points, and anything from the No7 range up to £16.50 . I get to go buy makeup!

hotmama · 20/02/2006 09:07

Morning girls!

Dp has gone back to work today so first week by myself.

Panicking about feeding but dd2 seems to be doing O.K.

Wishing you all lots of labour vibes - you must be due some easier birth experiences as some of us have now practically ticked every box on the labour/delivery/drug choices list!

Will be popping in to see how you are getting on.

Jasnem · 20/02/2006 09:33

Frizbe - not odd enough! Nothing going to happen here today!

I've got my best friend coming over today to distract me a bit though, which will be nice.

Helen - I really thought you were going to tell us you'd had yours. Hope your weekend was ok. Enjoy your day with your boys. My school run wasn't too bad - I just said "don't say it!" to everyone who gave me that look.

I've started a thread on bf a newborn - any advice would be gratefully received.

Helen38 · 20/02/2006 10:38

Well, have spent last 24 hrs contracting again but not regular. Some hurt quite a bit now.

Just been to mw mine on hol so different one who insisted that am just getting practice contractions, was talking to me as if i hadn't got a clue, knew it is my 3rd baby and maybe i have some idea about what is happening with my body She was my mw last pg and was hopeless so glad have not got her this time.
She sent me for blood test cos of itchy bump, whick is very itchy but also spotty and sore so i don't think is likely to be a prob but she said i had to go right away. MIL had boys so at least i was on my own.

Hope all are well today, where are all of these babies????? If I can't have mine then at least one of you should Except frizbe who has to have hers the same day as me so that it's fair

Will try to check in again later off to drink my rl tea which i have gone off as have drank soooo much of the stuff.

TicTac · 20/02/2006 11:00

Yes Frizbe a whole month.. we can't believe it either!!

Oh I know this is really premature but I can't wait to do it all again you know! I am really tempted to just jump stright in and have another really quickly....please talk me out of this madness!!!

Jasnem · 20/02/2006 11:10

No can da Tic Tac - although Hotmama may disagree, as my two were a long time ago!
I never used any contraception after DD1 and was pregnant in 6 months (even with exclusive bf)
Getting it all over quickly does have it's advantages.

It's good that you're enjoying being a mum so much

Hotmama - have been reading your other thread. The general consensus seems to be pretty reassuring, so hope you can realx a bit.

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 20/02/2006 11:14

You're nuts TicTac

Still feeling achey, but thats all, and heartburn is suddenly back with a vengeance.

My best friend has a son with a stomach bug, so I don't know when I'll get to see her She got to see DD within 30 mins of her birth, but she won't come for at least 72 hours after the last bout of sickness is done, so in some ways being over would be good... I can't imagine having this baby and her not being there soon afterwards (she'd be there for the birth if I'd have said yes ).

I keep thinking back to that dream weeks ago... according to that I will be having this baby on either 1st March, or 5th. Seems like a lifetime away, but it would mean that they would be over poorliness, and it would be away from the various birthdays!!!

Jasnem · 20/02/2006 11:18

My bf was there for the birth of DD1, and saw DD2 before me!( my first memory of her is seeing bf dressing her)
Sadly it may be longer this time (unless I have baby today while she's here, as she now has a 4 yr old and can't come flying overe at any time of day/night. She'll still probably be here in the first day, though .

Helen38 · 20/02/2006 11:22

Boots are rubbish, I emailed them ages ago about lack of huggies voucher as i want my free bag, have finaly emailed back saying that it can come at anypoint up to when baby 3 mths old. What good is that??????? You have to buy newborn nappies to get it, the chances of me having a baby that fits into newborn nappies at 3 mths are .... well it doesn't seem likely going by the last 2 who were not small [grumpy face]

oh well don't really need it any more as got nice bag with pram but i like free stuff

Flamesparrow · 20/02/2006 11:27

Helen - not a problem. I remember from last time that Boots are really good - just buy the newborn nappies, and then take them back (unopened) saying that they are the wrong size, and they just let you swap them!!!

I can't believe how I am about all this with my friend. Unfortunately it seems to be coinciding with my tummy ache getting worse....

Jasnem · 20/02/2006 11:29

Oh. Not fair. I got the pre 28 week stuff (after I chased it), but nothing since. I still haven't bought a changing bag, and was hoping to get the free one. Maybe I'd better go shopping.
Still haven't got a cot, changing mat, place in the bedroom to put the baby, either
Do I get the award for the most unprepared mother?

I've got 2 packs of newborn nappies, but from past experience, mine won't fit them for more than a week or two, and I intend to be using my washables fairly swifly.
Oh! Haven't got a nappy bucket either...really do need to go shopping.
