I'm not feeling much better ditsygem. I've tried explaining to the baby that it should be being nicer to me by now but to no avail.

Elizadoesdolittle · 14/05/2012 09:57

waitingforme I can understand how you feel. My dad passed away very suddenly in 2009 when I was pregnant with my DD. It's strange times like the one you mentioned that it hits me that he will never see his grandchildren. He would have been over the moon and adored my DD. He was desperate to have grandchildren. I don't really believe the whole he's looking down on me thing, but I do like to think that somehow they are still keeping an eye on us. I'm very sorry for your loss.

On a more positive note, I got an email from wowcher and they had a deal for a 4d scan at a clinic in harley street. It's £100 reduced from £250. You get 10 images and a DVD. I'm not really sure how much 4d scans are anyway so not sure if it's a good bargain as I'm pretty sure you can get them for a £100 anyway but thought I'd mention it. I'm not getting one done, they freak me out a bit, but I can see the appeal in them.

eversomuch · 14/05/2012 10:30

I've been completely failing to keep up with the thread, but have good news to share:

My final CVS results came back today. Everything is normal and we're having a boy! Delighted to finally be able to relax a little. :)

daisychain76 · 14/05/2012 11:01

Great news everso and fab scan news from last week. I hope you are feeling ok today little9

ditsygem it was really reassuring reading your post as I had almost the same thing happen to me this morning, although in my bathroom. I felt so hot and sick and dizzy I had to lie down on the bathroom floor. Cue somewhat amazed DCs coming to look at me with interest (and have a whispered discussion between themselves over whether the baby was going to come out of mummy's tummy now!). Still feel really drained and only just managed to switch on the computer to do some work (after checking MN obviously!).

On the upside, the last 2 evenings I have managed to have some tea with DH and DCs and kept it down, so really hoping the sickness is starting to improve (14+2 now). Hope everyone else is having a good day.

ShellyBobbs · 14/05/2012 11:14

ditsygem I had exactly the same thing happen to me on Thursday and Friday. Unfortunately it happened whilst I was at work (I do a lot of house visits) and was stood talking to someone when I went all hot and sweaty and just had to sit down, the person who's house it was had only just come out of hospital so didn't really know what to do! After a few minutes and a glass of water I was OK, but really thought I was going to pass out. Apparently it's all the extra blood that does it.

I'm all spotty again :( I've had a few comments about having shiny hair, but I still don't feel fantastic; I am dreading work everyday now, I think it's because I'm on countdown to leaving 24 WEEKS. I'm trying to start a new business with my friend and we've had our second ever order today YAY so if we can make a go of it, I will be telling work I won't be coming back next year. (Shameless plug, if you need a kitchen splashback or glass panels wedlingtonsglass.co.uk, could you click it just to bump us up a bit on the search engines :) I'll remove if anyone objects)

Little babs has been extremely active this morning, I've felt quite a few heavier kicks on the front wall this morning, very reassuring :)

Nice to see all the scans coming through nice and healthy.

Hi, haven't posted in a while - since thread 3 I think Blush
Had some pains and spotting but finally got my scan last week and all was good so will add myself to the list if that's ok. Was so excited at the scan, peanut was sucking it's thumb - so cute! DC1 is so excited to have a photo of his new baby bro/sis.
Any one else showing yet? My belly seems to have popped out over the weekend, not sure if baby no longer feels the need to hide now or i've stopped breathing in now we can tell everyone :)

Gosh my belly sticks out so much, but I'm sure its all fat. When i pregnant with my first it was so exciting to have a bump, but now i'm sure its all fat and it's not so exciting!? (it's still exciting but i have to suck my gut in to see the true bump!)

Haha, pasties. I remember a time years ago when my bump was all hard, now it's like a bump of dough. I reckon I look about 20 weeks, it seems to have popped out more since Friday. It starts right under my bust where it is hard but when you get to the bottom you lose your fingers in it:). There is absolutely no mistaking I'm pregnant!

Just adding myself to the list - seem to have dropped off the old one, or was a new one started? Sorry have been living in my own self-obsessed bubble recently and not been following the threads very closely.

I had another scan today - the second part of the Downs measuring (everyone gets screened here) so am at 15w3d. OB GYN thinks it is probably a girl but he isn't sure yet.

Next scan in 5 weeks and he will confirm.

MummyHan · 14/05/2012 12:59

Hello Peoples, I am due 05/11/12 This will be my first baby :)
Nice to meet you all!

x

ValiumQueen · 14/05/2012 13:29

Hello Han Welcome! I guess you have had your scan by now? How are you?

So WHY does my bump ( and others too it seems) start from my ribs? Not every day mind, which makes me wonder if it is bloating. Baby/womb will be heading towards the tummy button, but is not even there yet. Is it just pushing everything up? DH thinks because my body knows what is happening it is just assuming the position. I look six months gone some days! I loved the comment about losing your fingers in . Oh bugger, just remembered you are six months gone Shelley Duh!

PetiteRaleuse · 14/05/2012 13:42

ValiumQueen I met up with a friend for lunch last week who told me I looked far bigger than 4 months (and was only 15 weeks so not really 4 months) Hmm

I am far bigger now than I was at this stage with DD... my OB GYN told me this morning it was normal and was partly bloating and partly just normal.

Looking forward to being heifer like in a few weeks :)

daisychain76 · 14/05/2012 15:06

Hi Han

I have a definite bulge, but not sure what the food/baby ratio is. As I have slimmed down a bit overall, guessing (hoping) some must be baby. I have a big stomach anyway, so being pregnant is the only time I actually feel confident to wear more tight fitting outfits - I love the fact it gives me a legitimate reason for my pot belly!

Feeling a bit guilty as have sent DH out to buy anchovies and olives insisting they were the only thing I could possibly eat for tea (on pizza), but now that idea sounds awful and all I want is pasta and cheese (which we have in anyway).

ValiumQueen · 14/05/2012 15:12

Daisy blame the baby. Perfectly normal behavior so do not worry. I was really into pickled eggs briefly, and now have three jars languishing in my cupboard.

ValiumQueen · 14/05/2012 15:13

Thank you Petite for sharing that. It helps. A bit.

kirrinIsland · 14/05/2012 16:11

I have a definite bump, but I think some of it is fat! No mistaking I'm pregnant. I'm definitely showing far earlier than with my first - must be because everything is already shot to pieces!

waiting and eliza I know just where you're coming from. My mum died in September and it makes me well-up every time I think about how she won't know this baby or that DD is changing so much all the time and she's missing it :(

Welcome Han
everso glad to hear everything is ok, and congrats on your baby boy :)

DonnaDoon · 14/05/2012 16:44

Hola... just got back from sunny Ibiza and caught up on thread...I went with no bump but after eating all inclusive for a week I have now a real noticable bump. In fact had a scare last night ...really bad cramps and aches almost as bad as labour lol ...had to lie down for 2 hours until it passed...hubby was worried but Im fine now and figure it was baby " rooming in " I think it has grown so much it has had to make more room for itself...also I am terrible for forgetting Im pregnant and jump in and out the pool with the kids all day so possibly over done it too.

Belgrano · 14/05/2012 17:12

Hi everyone. Havent checked in for a bit. I haven't told work yet and still seem to be able to hide it- it makes such a difference what you wear doesn't it?! Personally I think it's glaringly obvious do maybe they are just being polite pretending not to notice my pot belly! I'm 16 weeks so I guess I'll have to come clean in a couple of weeks.
Looking at new cars- this is dc3 and we have a big dog so need something big. Anyone got any recommendations? We'll be buying 2 Nd (4th/5th!) hand. We have about £13k to spend (I hope...)

Belgrano · 14/05/2012 17:12

Ps Donna-sounds scary, glad you're ok now

PetiteRaleuse · 14/05/2012 17:21

Belgrano I was going to start a thread asking for car recommendations - we also have a big dog (goldie)

Chunkychicken · 14/05/2012 18:27

Haven't got time to put a more in-depth post, but to whomever was saying they had a HUGE bump; I wake up with visible ribs & a 4mth gone bump (I'm 13wks today!!!) and go to bed with no ribs & a massive 6mths bump Shock

StuntNun · 14/05/2012 18:42

Belgrano I have a Ford S-Max which would be in your price range. It's HUGE - you can fit three car seats across the middle row then you can either have two seats in the rear and a tiny boot or fold the back row of seats down for a ginormous boot that would be big enough for your pram and the dog.

Welcome to Han. We haven't had a newbie for a while!
