Ooooh getting very close to the end of the thread ladies!

I just want to say, I hate this weather.
I want to live somewhere snowy.
Anyone else finding pregnancy and the heat exhausting??

GTbaby · 23/05/2012 21:46

misslaughalot just used palmers stretch mark cream. Bought it at 4 weeks n today is first time Ive used it! But has helped. Gona buy a handbag sized bottle! Also need to buy new bras ASAP.

swiss I also found heat today to much. Was out at lunch for about 15 min. Just sitting n eating. But got to much. Felt very over heated.

Might also have something to do with a work colleague commenting in front of 10 other women/men 'oh Gtbaby ur tits have got massive' today , I just got up n walked inside. She apologies as I walked away, but it's 2nd time she has made a boob comment about me n I hate that I'm big. N hate ppl drawing attention to it, spesh at the moment. I wasn't preg first time she made her comment, n it annoyed me then as well so I know I'm not being a moody pregnant women!

SwissArmyWife · 23/05/2012 22:01

GT the next time she or anyone else says something like that, just reply with "I know, they're fab aren't they?" and look down at your boobs with admiration Grin She was clearly just trying to make you uncomfortable, but we all know most women want big boobs so she's probably jealous. Be proud of what you've got!

misslaughalot · 23/05/2012 22:02

GTbaby Palmers is the best, and it is helping my stretch marks too. I'd bathe in it if I could!

TheDetective · 23/05/2012 23:15

Bloody hell you hormonal lot! I've yet to get the grumps. Thank god for DP. I am normally quiet a firey personality, pregnancy seems to have chilled me out! Remind me of this next week, last time I said I was feeling energetic, remember what happened!

Darcy Glad to hear that side of things at least, should be smoother for you! What time frames are you looking at for moving?!

The MIL dragged me to bingo again today, and we won £88 between us. So of course, I went and bought more baby things. I found this cot mobile. Matches my theme perfectly. And it was less than half of what I had budgeted. Ace!

By the way, I thought I should add that I'm a bit of a panicker, and that is why we have so much stuff already. For me, I find the more organised I am, the better relaxed I am. Can't help myself. I've always been this way. I'm hoping to have everything done and bought by 28 weeks, so we can start saving even more each month for mat. leave. I'm really pleased with how we are managing at the moment, as it reassures me that we will be ok! The main things I need now are the cot mattress, pram, car seat, and some kind of moses basket. A few clothes and blankets still needed, plus the wardrobe.

I'm not very good at saving, so its easier to just buy as we go! And I can't resist a bargain!

I must say thank you to whoever posted about the Cosatto Giggle (damn baby brain!) I fell in love with it, and the price is excellent! We have decided to wait til it comes out and test it out, and if its nice and easy to push, then we will ditch the idea of the Quinny Buzz! It comes to £350 with the car seat, knocking £150 off what we had budgeted, and it includes the pram part which we weren't going to get to keep costs down. Only down side I could see was that you can't get a car seat base for them. I'll live!

Last thing, I promise, for those who are planning a waterbirth at home, ask the community midwife about a pool. I can get mine for free, just pay for the liner! I was made up! I was begruding forking out £100 for one. Liner is £25!

TheDetective · 23/05/2012 23:15

*Quite. D'oh!

TheDetective · 24/05/2012 00:04

I forgot to add - sneezing. I have now learnt after nearly 17 weeks that lying down flat and sneezing bloody hurts. I now draw my legs up. Like a baby having a poo. Well, it works just in case any one else is suffering in the same way. And didn't figure this out a long time ago!

Also, anyone else forgetting they can't move in usual ways any more?! It hurts to move quickly turning in bed or on the sofa. But I forget. And hurt myself. Every single time. Also, still find myself sleeping on my tummy. Which I didn't when I wasn't pregnant. Strange. I'm going to get a pillow support thing soon. I already have 4 pillows all to myself Grin what's one more in the grand scheme of things?!

The Bridget Jones kecks came out today. They look hideous. DP is banned from seeing me change for ever more. They are just so comfy though grrrrr I need some maternity leggings soon. I have a definite pregnant bump now! Comes straight from under the ribs! DP said he is finding me more and more sexy. The freak! I told him I wasn't staying pregnant just to satisfy his strange fetishes Shock

Did I say one last thing in my last post? I forgot these!

blonderthanred · 24/05/2012 00:52

Detective, it was me who posted about the Giggle. I thought the same as you, only disadvantage being the car seat not fixing to a base. I tried it out at the baby show and it is great, so light, the woman said all the other stalls wouldn't let me lift the pram while I was pg but they were allowed to as the G is so light (this proved true).

The tinytots page I linked to had an extra discount if you 'like' them on Facebook. DH and I chatted tonight and we are going to go ahead and buy it - what colour do you like? We both liked the green.

Oh yes and also the height adjustment on the bar is great - DH is 6'2 and I'm 5'3 so that was important!

TheDetective · 24/05/2012 01:26

That's excellent to hear blonder we fell for the green one too! It just looks great, and for that price, you can't moan! Thanks for the fb tip too! The pram is actually going to be the last thing we buy, will probably be in August, just incase anything comes up before then as this will be our most expensive purchase I want to get it right!

Dp and I have similar height differences! I'm 5ft 2 he is 6ft 2! And extendable handle was on our list of top priorities!

I think the giggle comes out fairly soon. We live right by a really cheap pram shop called Winstanleys. They have a website called pramworld, anyway, they have the giggle on their site for the same price as tinytots, so we will ask them when they will get one in for us to try!

rowingdowntheriver · 24/05/2012 05:28

Hi everyone, I've not posted in ages and only posted once before as never seem to find the time at the moment. I do lurk a bit to see how everyone is feeling and to try and pick up tips - especially on where to get nice maternity clothes as I struggle to find those.

Felt I had to post this morning though (pregnancy insomnia) after reading about my old home town on here! missmummy and yellowwellies I was brought up in Aberdour and my old childminder was from dalgety bay. Didn't realise it was radioactive though! I've lovely memories of going to the beach in Aberdour, especially on school days when it was nice weather and we'd have a lesson outside. I'd love to be back up there but jobs and the fact that our families all live in the south of England now make it unlikely.

I've got my 20 week scan in 3 weeks and I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going compared to my first. Think that maybe I'm just distracted by DS who is now 14 months.

Little9 · 24/05/2012 06:54

Hello all. Just popping in to let u know we're just off to Crete for ten days, so will have loads to catch up on when we get back. Heard heartbeat on Mon, sounded like a train, think that's supposed to be a boy? Now have definite bump, not a good bikini look! Oh well. 20 week scan on 19th June. Take care, speak to u all soon.

SwissArmyWife · 24/05/2012 09:14

Little Hope you have a lovely time :)

Detective My bump comes from under my ribs too, I thought this was a bit odd as with DD it was a lot lower down and for some reason I was worrying about it Blush
But it's good to know it can be so high up at this stage :)
My DP also says he finds me very sexy when pregnant which is very lucky as I feel like a bloody elephant Grin

rowing i've also found this pregnancy is going a lot faster than my first! I suppose because i've not got all the time in world to think about it and i'm concentrating more on my DD. I'm 4 months already, where on earth did the time go?! Still, I think it's a good thing as I just want it over and done with now so I can actually move again! 11

horseylady · 24/05/2012 09:41

My bumps low and my boobs have doubled in size!!! I feel huge!!!! Three weeks today we find out the sex!!! Can't believe it!!!

YellowWellies · 24/05/2012 11:03

Little9 have a lovely time. Don't worry about the beach - I looked like a sausage roll in my bikini Grin. Hope you managed to get your car fixed.

Rowing - how cool!!! My sister takes her two to Blacksands and Silversands beaches everytime it's sunny. It's a lovely place.

Hmmm am loving the Giggle too - especially the green one and at £278 - it's not a bad price at all is it!!!

ShellyBobbs · 24/05/2012 11:15

You know what is REALLY ping me off at the minute and I've discovered it's the reason that I don't tell anyone I'm pregnant? When they say 'was it planned', I mean what sort of question is that? How fing nosey can you get? I feel like saying, 'well we were having a right good old sesh, and instead of firing his load on the sheets like he normally does, we made the very important decision that he would ejaculate inside me and I would then put my legs up on the wall for half an hour'! (We don't use the rhythm method by the way), it's really getting to me now and I just know in the next few days I'm going to be REALLY rude to someone who asks me that. Then the idiots who stand there staring at my belly, WTF! Why do people think that because you're pregnant they can say whatever they want about your body? Someone this morning said to me 'oh you're getting big now aren't you'? I had to really bite my tongue instead of saying, 'so are you, you fat bitch, and you're on a diet'! Anyway, you can tell how grumpy I'm feeling of late Blush

Yellow & Miss Mummy I've moved house whilst extremely pregnant during 2 of my pregnancies and I would definitely recommend moving whilst pregnant. Like you said the nesting thing, but I found it really helped to get rid of loads of old stuff and start again with other things, things you wouldn't think about due to baby brain. Afterwards you have absolutely no time for months and months, it takes hours to get out of the house with a baby so I can't even imagine what moving house with a little baba would be like! There again, people do do it so it's far from impossible (just for me :))

Also Miss Mummy, you asked about room, well there is all the bulky stuff cot, moses basket, pram, possible trolley as well, nappy box and other stuff for baby, but as they get older you will be over-run with toys, especially after birthdays and xmas. I would personally advise lots of room if you can manage it, but if you are thinking of moving out of the area so that you can afford it, then also think about a garden (a life saver for me with 3 children already), and I also live on a new estate, these actively attract families with children so I have different children here every night for tea and my children are always playing out and have loads of friends. There isn't much traffic and mine have a lot more freedom than some of the kids in their classes at school due to busy roads and not living near other children etc. Lots of things to consider when thinking of moving Grin

I'm loving this weather! I'm not in work until weekend so was sat outside all day Tuesday and yesterday, got bloody burnt (even with factor 30!) but at least I wasn't marching round stamping my feet and shouting at people Grin

applepieinthesky · 24/05/2012 11:16

misslaughalot My mum said she used to use Palmers Cocoa Butter and didn't get any stretch marks at all so I'll be getting some.

ShellyBobbs · 24/05/2012 11:17

Oh yes, and to top it all off redundancies are doing the round at work again Angry, we get our voluntary redundancy letters in June and then see what happens after that, so I may not be working after July.

Oh and it's the very last House tonight and I just know that I will be sat there blubbing all the way through it. I luvz House :(

ShellyBobbs · 24/05/2012 11:20

Oh yes and that Palmers Cocoa Butter! I've resisted all creams just using baby lotion up until last week, I gave in and bought some, then I bought some more and yesterday some more. I have bottles of it EVERYWHERE and I'm always rubbing it in various places :) I tell you what, if this stuff doesn't help with stretch marks then absolutely nothing will, at the least it will make your skin lovely and moisturised. It was on special last week at Superdrug.

ShellyBobbs · 24/05/2012 11:46

And while I'm still ranting, I got refered to a specialist for my thyroid and another for something else when I was 6 weeks, now 9 weeks later I'm still waiting to hear off both, luckily I did some research straight away about my thyroid and took it to my doctor, we are working together to keep it on track.

Anyway, I'm logging off now or I'll still be on here moaning tonight...........

WestWinger · 24/05/2012 12:15

shelly I am so with you on the "was it planned?" It is an extremely personal question - I can't believe people don't realise how uncomfortable it can make you feel. My mum asked me that and I was umming and ahhhing. Really, mum?! What about your sex life - are you still at it? And as for strangers asking that - what on earth has it got to do with them?!?

And...... relax....... :o

applepieinthesky · 24/05/2012 12:40

shelly and westwinger I thought it was just me being oversensitive about the ?was it planned?? questions. It?s really starting to annoy me.
Most people I work with have assumed it was an accident and have been asking ?so was it a shock?? Nosy cows, no it bloody wasn?t.

Why is it such a surprise that a 25 year old in a 9 year relationship would want a baby? I don?t get it.

daisychain76 · 24/05/2012 14:40

Completely agree on the "was it planned" - seem to be getting it especially this time around as it is DC3 and 2 eldest are at school. Quite often it is a patronising "was it a bit of a surprise then?" from people I vaguely know. Next time (?!) I am planning on conceiving, I clearly need to wear some sort of t-shirt or sign to let people know and stop the irritating assumptions later on!

horseylady · 24/05/2012 14:44

Oh dear!!! People keep telling me I've got a bump I've so far resisted the 'well it's still smaller than your stomach' comment!!! I've also been asked the planned question, I've just said yes and it's not bothered me!! It'll be fine :)

mrswee · 24/05/2012 15:25

I just lost my post twice about was it planned - to summerise, unless it's a close friend then it's a twattish thing to ask!

Went to gap today and bought my first maternity clothes of this pregnacy.. I have sprouted a bump overnight with this being my second and I was quite a few stone heaver last time so have chucked out all my old massive maternity clothes.

Some good bargains to be had, I got a really nice light summer top for 6.99 and some forgiving shorts for 9.99. I can wear the top to work and looks smarter that what I normally throw on in the dark in the morning!

mrswee · 24/05/2012 15:27

I ordered some nice looking porlan o pyret jeans from their Mama range on their websit which all seems to be outlet stock now.. super cheap, was £45 but ended up paying under £15 with postage. No idea what their sizing is like so will have to see how they fit!
