X-post DH21 - sorry you are ill Sad

I have to work out a new budget (fun) and the house is a tip. We will still go out for a while - likely Ikea or camping shop.

We have been selected for a review of our tax credits - childcare element of Working tax credit, so need to find proof of earnings and payments and hope they are not too unlike what we declared 12 months ago - the fines are massive, but you have to predict everything yet it is based on the previous years earnings. We both have more than one degree, but find it so confusing...

Cacacaz · 05/05/2012 09:19

I hope you feel better soon DH21

I'm going to a beauty salon this afternoon, looking forward to being pampered. Then off out for a meal with a friend (while dh is at football). Tonight dh and I are going to the cinema Grin.

Tomorrow we have our nephews 5th Birthday party, then a out for a meal and drinks with dh family in the evening.

We have no holidays booked or planned, but we are both have 2 weeks holiday from work in July, we will possibly book something last minute .

applepieinthesky · 05/05/2012 09:24

valium that's why I'm planning on bringing my baby with me to a match next summer, boy or girl. The sooner they get used to it the better! My brother is already planning on buying a kit for christmas with baby's name on the back. He asked if we have thought of any names yet and said we can only have a short name because it needs to be able to fit on the back of the shirt.

Sorry to hear you are feeling rough DH Hope you feel better soon.

GTbaby · 05/05/2012 09:40

Good morning. I have a killer headache Sad still in bed but gota get up soon as nephews will be over for me to baby sit soon.

We are currently buying a house n DH wanted to leave our may holiday as we will be a little strap for cash, n we went to Paris in feb (maybe we conceived on that holiday !) but I was a spoilt brat n insisted on one more holiday abroad before lil fraggle is born. So we r off to dubrovnik. Booking an apartment so we can save money by cooking ourselves. Grin going to have to buy some new clothes tho n swim suit so will start looking for bargains.

StuntNun · 05/05/2012 10:46

Sorry to hear you're poorly DH21, feel better soon.

We're hoping to go to Bavaria in August to visit Neuschwanstein castle (that the Disneyland castle is based on), also Rothenburg ob der Tauber (where Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was filmed) and to take the boys to the Legoland there. I hope it all works out as I've left it to DH to arrange since it was his idea and he speaks German and I normally have to organise everything for our holidays. I'm sure he'll still let me do all the packing though. Hmm

GTbaby Matalan sell maternity swim suits for £14 which is a bargain I think, they look nice online, just need to get time to get to the store & see it in the flesh as it were...

DH21 feel better soon.

No holiday for us - moving and saving up for maternity leave, plus all the extra work required in the new place, all means we don't really want the hassle of a holiday too. Had planned to go to France to my M&D's place during the school hols, but the ferry crossing will cost FAR too much at that time of yr & a toddler & pg bladder will not allow the cheaper ferry & longer drive combo. Plus DD would need a passport. Thinking we might go with both DCs in the spring or early summer, when off peak/cheaper/outside of school hols (the few occassions when we can do it at that time is when I'm on maternity leave & before the kids are at school!!).

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/05/2012 12:35

Thank you ladies :)

I haven't been sick again just feel drained. Had a sleep with ds we've just woken up. I need to do the food shopping but I can't face it.

ditsygem · 05/05/2012 14:24

Hi everyone,
I had my scan yesterday - woo! it was lovely. The sonographer spent ages with us showing us what she was looking at. The baby spent most of the time sucking its thumb. I was dying for a wee when I went in as it said to have a full bladder, but the sonographer said it was too full and they don't like full bladders - i wish they would change the letter then! anyway, she sent me to the ladies after a while and then scanned again which was much more comfy!
She also took a guess based on the nub theory that baby is a boy! eek! I was kind of secretly hoping for a girl, but this is DC1 so I don't mind either way.

I've added myself to the list below I'm due on 11th nov!

WestWinger · 05/05/2012 14:46

Great news ditsy!

My sonographer reckons I'm having a boy too, based on the nub theory.

I have had a relapse on the nausea front - was doing ok-ish last week, but this week I feel like I am back to square one. I'm 14 weeks in a couple of days - I was hoping to be feeling better by now :(

Sorry to hear you're not well either DH21.

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/05/2012 17:16

Thanks westwinger hope you're nausea settles down soon.

I've been sleeping most of the day. I think I overestimated how much I can do and looking after a toddler while being preg is too much! My lovely mum came over and took ds off our hands for a couple of hours which was bliss! I had a sleep and dh played his Xbox so we were both happy.

Just really hope I feel better tomorrow I've got plans the next two days and want to enjoy them.

daisychain76 · 05/05/2012 19:10

Yet more lovely scan news and congrats ditsy and westwinger. My DC1 is a boy and having him first was great - I suspect boy babies are a lot more laid back than girls on the whole. I know if my DD had been the first born she would have been pretty difficult to deal with (completely gorgeous but very stubborn and can't be bribed). As it is, having a big brother calms her down considerably (most of the time!)

We are going to Wales in summer but I am dithering whether to book a short break abroad somewhere as the DCs have never flown or been abroad before and I'm scared if we don't do it now they'll be teenagers before we get to go (not that that really matters, but I just think they'd find it so exciting at the age they are).

kirrinIsland · 05/05/2012 19:17

westwinger that's happened to me as well. I've been feeling ok for the past week or so and today it's back with a vengeance :(

meganw · 05/05/2012 19:34

Hi everyone
I'm completely new to mumsnet - I'm pregnant with my first baby and I'm due on November 11th according to the scan I had last week. Me and my boyfriend are very excited but quite scared! I am still feeling quite sick and so tired - is this normal at this stage?!
Thanks :-)

Chunkychicken · 05/05/2012 19:36

Congratulations ditsy.

Welcome Megan & Congrats. And yes, that seems very normal in my experience!! :)

Evilwater · 05/05/2012 19:53

Congrats ditsy and Megan. Ive added my self to the list.
I'm off to see the avengers, so I'll let you now what it's like.

Does anyone else have, bowel proplems? Talk about painful, I hope baby is ok. Maybe I'm worring too much, I just worry that by pushing I'm going to push the baby out. (please tell me I'm crazy!) Got a midwife appointment on Thursday yay! I can't wait to hear the heart beat.
Love to all,
Evil

Welcome Megan, your name is on my baby names list although my mum is pushing for Leonora. Apparently if my baby bro had been a girl he would have been called Leonora because it rhymes with my name.

Evilwater I've been eating baked beans almost every day which apart from one minor side effect seems to be keeping the constipation at bay.

Just had a KFC for dinner. Baby definitely approves of greasy chicken!

Scan in 6 days. DH says I'm completely shameless about my bump which is growing daily. He suspects it may just be retained pies. I only flaunt it with him though, the rest of the time I try to suck it in. One of my team leaders definitely did a bump-double-take yesterday so my secret may be out before the scan on Friday. Tbh I'm surprised none of the women in my office have clocked it because they all know I had a MC in December.

Stunt nun sounds good advice. I usally have porridge, but baby doesn't like it, baby also dislikes fruit.

Hi everyone,

Good to catch up with this thread.
I have my scan next Friday and then we can hopefully tell people the week after. It is getting difficult to hide but we want to wait as my sil is preg with dc1 and we have a big family wedding next weekend. This will be our dc4 so I don't want to steal her thunder and thought it would be best to wait until after the wedding. I feel such a porker tho and will have to wear a loose fitting dress!
I have been poorly since last weekend. Have had a flu bug which is now just a bad cold but it has been tough going this week. Hope everyone who feels pants too feels better soon.
On the double buggy front I had one for dc2 but it rarely got used. I just found it too cumbersome (silver cross side by side). We aren't going to bother with a pram at all this time and am trying to persuade my hub that we should get a stoke my carrier. I used my baby born loads with all three but gave it away after dc3.
We aren't going to find out what we are having. We already have ds, dd, ds. I have a suspicion that this one is a girl but I think that would be too convenient so am going to prepare myself tor a boy. I think a girl would best with our family dynamic at the moment but obviously I would just be happy with a healthy baby.
Off to watch The Voice and have a bit of a craving for some Ready BrekGrin
Night all x

TheDetective · 05/05/2012 22:22

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

That is all.

(I need a day off)

DesperateHousewife21 · 06/05/2012 07:39

Welcome megan congrats on your scan.

I still feel ill, went to bed at 7 last night. Way before ds decided to go to sleep! Thought I'd wake up feeling refreshed but no I still feel awful.

Hope everyone is enjoying the bank hol so far, only 5 days til my scan!

Brockle · 06/05/2012 08:54

Lurked for a while in order to try and keep up but this thread moves fast! Nausea rears its head every now and then at night but definitely getting better. Scan wednesday which can't come fast enough. The DH keeps teasing me saying I must be walking around the office with a well placed pot plant or file to hide the bump. Each day is a wardrobe quandry on what to wear to cover the widening waist. Strangely I don't think I am as big at this point than I was with DS2. Anyone else the same?

Home for the next two days as DH is working overtime. Went to a May Day procession in Knutsford yesterday which we do every year. We went to the fair afterwards which the boys loved. I left the dodgems to DH and DF with the boys but got rewarded with chips Smile

My PILs live abroad in the middle east so we try to go every year. We were going to go in December but going to postpone until next Easter as don't fancy taking a 6 week baby. The journey is arduous. Possibly Northumbria in August and London during olympics.

valium I had a twin techno and really liked it. I got it for local trips really like nursery etc but even took it on the train to York and Liverpool and it was mega useful.

Great news - my best friend is PG too and only a few weeks behind me! Our first DCs are only a week apart in age, and now, all being well, their siblings will be close in age too!! So excited!

DH21 - sorry to hear you are still feeling awful. Get better soon.
