Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Passmethecrisps · 02/05/2012 19:53

Evening ladies. Facebook is a scary place at times. One of my pet hates is vague booking - you know the ones where te status says something like "my life would be so much better if CERTAIN PEOPLE would do x, y or z" so lots of people go on saying "aw hun, what's the matter" but yet original poster says nothing or even more irritatingly responds similarly vaguely. My motto - if you don't want the 300 people you are 'friends' with to find out your business then don't say stuff. And certainly izzy don't be saying horrible stuff about someone else's life - what a rotter they must be.

Anyway, today's trial has been red pants. I must throw all my red pants away. These are M&S cotton jobs you understand, not lacy numbers. Te problem is every time I got to the loo I spend an inordinate amount of time examining the inevitable moist contents trying to ascertain whether or not it is blood. I have even resorted to sniffing. It is ridiculous, I know (and I would not tell anyone this in face to face life.

Chunkychicken · 02/05/2012 20:15

LOL Pass a feeling I know only too well... we have very fluffy red towels, need I say more??!!

Cacacaz · 02/05/2012 21:33

chunky fb can be rather annoying at times for me too, I actually think I will be removing some friends soon!

Izzy sorry your so called friend has upset you.

TMI alert has anyone noticed a significant increase in discharge? I keep going to the bathroom to inspects underwear As it almost feels as it is gushing at times Blush

I have to share what dh did earlier although it is rather cheesy Wink. I have a pregnancy app on my phone and it gives you approx sizes and weights depending on your stage of pregnancy. I was telling him earlier that baby is now approx the size of a lemon, so while he was at tesco, he bought a lemon and has drawn a face on it and written "hello mummy" < very cheesy> but has made smile every time I go into the kitchen!

Chunkychicken · 02/05/2012 21:57

That's so sweet Caca made me smile. Which app have you got?

Told my DH that Grub was the size of a lime yesterday & he was like Shock 'that's huge!!' Confused I mean, we have a 2yo - you think it'd be a bit obvious by now right?

And yes, I too have been rather 'damp' downstairs. I seem to recall the same thing happening with DD. I'm also fairly certain it continued throughout the pg too Hmm

blonderthanred · 02/05/2012 21:58

Caca, mine is a lemon too! I have been entertaining everyone with the updates, my friend keeps demanding to know when it will be a watermelon (hopefully not for a while...)

Cacacaz · 02/05/2012 22:06

Chunky it's the What to Expect When You're Expecting app

Blonder what's you edd? Mine is the 4th of Nov, 5 days before my 30th birthday, I would love for baby to be here for my Birthday, it would be the most amazing present!

Chunkychicken · 02/05/2012 22:13

Oh thanks Caca I think I looked at that but thought it might be a bit 'much' for a second baby iyswim. I have the Happy Pregnancy app.

I have also up or updated a huge number of baby groups so am getting about 7 or 8 a week for each week of pregnancy. If I don't know everything there is to know by the end of it, who can??!! Wink

Elizadoesdolittle · 02/05/2012 22:14

Ah Cacacaz that's really sweet about the lemon. Would make me smile too. I have that app as well but that's the only bit I look at. I find the daily bits a bit odd.

I'm due 2 days after my birthday but I'm the opposite. I don't want the baby to make an appearance till after my birthday. I'd quite like to get a full nights sleep and a lay in as a last birthday treat Smile

blonderthanred · 02/05/2012 22:17

Mine is the 6th, dh's birthday. Funnily enough that puts the conception date on Valentine's Day which is about the only day we didn't dtd that month!

And in reply to your tmi question... Yep, me too. Gushing. Keep worrying it's blood, but thankfully not. May have to get some of those liner things (panty is a terrible word).

applepieinthesky · 02/05/2012 22:47

awww your DH is really sweet Cacacaz. That made me smile Smile

Just got back from my mum's and we finally told her. She is over the moon and kept saying 'I can't believe I'm going to be a nana, I won't be able to sleep tonight'. My dad just said 'about time, hallelujah' Grin

After we have been to the scan tomorrow my mum wants us to go and tell my nana together. She says she has never seen my nana so down before because there is a lot going on in my family, with my cousin having cancer and a few other things as well. My mum said she knows this will really cheer her up so she's going to be the first to know if everything is ok with the scan, fingers crossed.

nebbo · 02/05/2012 22:48

pass I'm laughing so much about the pant sniffing, I am so glad someone else is as neurotic as me. I've been getting phantom damp as well where I am sure I feel a gush then go to the loo and am totally dry. All my knicker contents is still brown a whole month now after the bleed I had. I've been scanned so many times I know its not a prob plus I have a huge belly telling me that it's fine! The major prob is getting jiggy, sorry if tmi but we haven't since march. My head wants to but my body is not in the same mood, plus I really don't like the thought of it with my knicker contents as they are. Oh how did holly willoghby make pregnancy look so glam. I bet she didn't have cruddy knickers!!

On a lighter note, we just saw American pie - the reunion, very funny

DesperateHousewife21 · 03/05/2012 07:00

Aw caz that's v sweet of your dh, my app said a lime which is the same size I suppose!

Alot of things annoy me about fb yet I can't not go on there, I hate those pregnancy things people have where every week it tells everyone how many weeks they are and what their baby is doing. I know you're preg/ your due date I don't want a running commentary all the way through its tres annoying.
Also those people who are clearly attention seeking by having a status that is cryptic like 'why is life so shit?' or even just putting a sad face, so of course everyone is like aww what's up Hun, are u ok?? Etc etc and then the op doesn't even respond or they say 'ill inbox you' so you obv don't want everyone knowing you just want the attention (I'm thinking of one person in partic who gets on my wick and she also has one of those preg ticker things and it's her second so not really a novelty) ((don't worry it's nowhere on here!!))

DesperateHousewife21 · 03/05/2012 07:01

No one**

TitsalinaBumSquash · 03/05/2012 07:07

TMI ladies.

Is it ok to be having leaky nipples at only 12 weeks? This is my 3rd. It's only after sex. Blush is it not a bit early???

stabiliser15 · 03/05/2012 08:16

DesperateHousewife I am not a fan of that pregnany week counter app either. And cryptic posts irritate me too - say what you want to say, explicitly, or don't post! Posts like that are deliberately designed to inspire lots of "awww, what's up?" comments. Grrrr.

Am telling work today. Am 12+5 now and its the first time I will see my boss since the scan. Am nervous because at my last appraisal quite a song and dance was made about my advancement, about how this year would lead to promotion and as boss is now splitting time between this office and another one, I'll be the one to cover the fall-out there is a massive opportunity for me etc. And instead of grasping that with both hands, I'm leaving the team to manage without me.

stabiliser15 · 03/05/2012 08:17

**pregnancy.

Bloody hell. Am irritating myself.

JessieEssex · 03/05/2012 08:38

Hi all

I've only posted on here a couple of times at the beginning of my pregnancy but have been lurking with interest since then. Unfortunately I went for a private early scan on Tuesday at 9+4 and there was no heartbeat. Had a ERPC yesterday and am feeling OK today, with my very lovely 20mo DD giving me lots of cuddles.

I just wanted to ask that my name is taken off the list of due babies, for obvious reasons. I want to wish you all the best of luck with your pregnancies and births.

Jessie x

Chunkychicken · 03/05/2012 09:23

Sorry Jessie. Enjoy your DD & good luck for the future. x

Titsalina mine started leaking constantly from 20wks with my first, & I've read posts on other threads where they've leaked from day 1, so I figure there is no 'normal' when it comes to.preg. Sex does make them leak more IME & I guess it might be earlier with each pg (I hope not, I mean, I thought 20wks was early enough!!!)... Anyway, I guess as long as its clear/colostrum type rather than gungy iyswim, then its ok. Asda does 2 boxes of breast pads for £1.50 (or used to) and the re-usable ones from Boots were pretty good for minor leakage (but absolutely NO good for the breastfeeding gush that I got with DD Blush).

blonderthanred · 03/05/2012 09:25

So sorry to hear that Jessie, good luck for the future.

nebbo · 03/05/2012 09:27

Oh jessie so sorry to hear that. I hope you have lots of support and sincerely wish you the best for the future xx

Cacacaz · 03/05/2012 09:29

Jessie sorry to hear your sad news, take care. I hope you have lots of support and you are being looked after.

StuntNun · 03/05/2012 10:57

So sorry for you Jessie I had the same in December and it's a hard thing to go through. Take care of yourself and take time to grieve.

Good luck to all the other ladies with scans today :-) hopefully we all have smiley faces to put next to our names

Today is the first time I've actually been sick :( I thought it was all ment to ease off but still have time yet, can't wait to find out my ODD today just to have a date

stabiliser15 · 03/05/2012 11:34

Sorry to hear your news Jessie. Best wishes for the future x

daisychain76 · 03/05/2012 11:54

So sorry Jessie.

Hope todays scans go really well.

Told my DCs last night, DS was thrilled, DD was quite happy but a bit puzzled (kept asking "but why, mummy?"). They then got very excited about telling people and as soon as DD saw a couple of boys from her class (we were in the park) she ran up and announced "guess what, my mummy's got a baby in her tummy and it's going to come out of her bottom". Am thinking of lying very low in the school playground for the next few days...
